It's interesting how so many people complain about the U.S. when many other countries are way worse.

Could you make a lost of the countries where the National Security Agency hacks in to your FaceBook / Twitter page and access your private data? Also, can you tell me which are the countries which tap phone data from all of its citizens?
No, but that's just one aspect of it. Look at Venezuela, for example. All of the chaos was caused by the government, and as far as I know, they don't spy on their citizens.

that's what they get for not banning child porn.  Them and Russia

Did you mean, that's what they get for not bowing to American interests and giving away their natural resources at the expense of their own people?  Tongue
3142  Other / Off-topic / Re: Religion Poll on: April 29, 2014, 03:45:06 AM
no, more like "mostly atheists and christians."

With 98 votes, we have 53 Atheists + Angostics. That is a simple majority at more than 54%. We can give official minority religion status to Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Satanism.  Grin

What about Pastafarianism? The Flying Spaghetti Monster is not pleased... repent sinners, before It reaches for you with his noodly appendages!  Grin

Yes I agree because if one person is going to pay for 3rd month then many rumors almost end about his campaign

Speaking of which, why is Ritz still in the red? Looking at the feedback left, there is only one trusted feedback there, zackclark70's, which basically states that the sig campaign promotes spam and that the thread is self moderated. While I agree that a self moderated thread is probably going to draw some "attention" and that sig campaigns can promote spam, he hasn't exactly complained about any of the other campaigns; isn't he just abusing the trust system?

i dont think that he is abusing it. the truth is that it is his thread, his campaign and anyone that doesnt trust him doesnt have to use his service. but the more people that get paid and get paid out at his casino. will start to show that he is just as trustworthy as stunna. ( less history then stunna ) but get my point

No, you misunderstood; I wasn't saying Ritz is abusing the trust system, I was saying that zackclark70 is by giving negative trust to Ritz based on the stated reasons, while not doing the same for the other campaigns.

Considering the present state of education in this country it probably cannot be considered common knowledge, can it?

Why do you say "this country" as if we're all from the same country?

that makes completely 0 sense to me. an atheist believes in something - that there is no god.

see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism

Quote
Most inclusively, atheism is the absence of belief that any deities exist.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnostic

Quote
Agnosticism is the view that the truth values of certain claims—especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, as well as other religious and metaphysical claims—are unknown or unknowable

Well, to his point, your quote only states that it is the "absence of faith", not a "faith" that something does not exist.
3147  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Giant Chinese 3D printer builds 10 houses in just 1 day o_O on: April 29, 2014, 01:03:41 AM
It is not that great. It is just simple shack. 2 walls, 2 wall windows and roof. It is improvement of course over cardboard box but who would like a house like that? Probably only the poorest of the poor.

The article doesn't offer that much information, but this seems to be comparable to Contour Crafting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contour_crafting). That being the case, it is actually pretty cool: typical construction is extremely inefficient, time consuming, usually requiring a lot of man power and producing a lot of waste; but these processes can change all that.

And to your point of it being a simple shack, in Contour Crafting at least, the idea is to have a "printer" that can handle the construction of a building following a blueprint that can be arbitrarily complex. In fact NASA has apparently funded them to develop the technology further, with a possible usage being the construction of lunar structures.

I'm pretty sure about this, but what do the other people on the forum say about this?

Do you think the mods care about what other people say?
3149  Other / Off-topic / Re: The United States Government has become a den full of perpetrators of terrorism, on: April 28, 2014, 06:13:43 PM
Never... Obama says terrorism and america is ready to give up all freedoms for saftey from those scary terrorists pretty much no american has ever seen... 2000 people died and now almost every country in the world can arrest their own people without reason and hold them in jail forever with out ever having to give a cause..

It's over guys it is over.. soon enough we will all be in the Fema camps.. I CAN NOT WAIT!! ........  We will all be "safe"!! ya SAFTEY!! KEEP ME IN A CELL SO I CAN BE SAFE!

I mostly agree with your first paragraph; a lot of governments have taken advantage of the renewed focus on terrorism to adopt their own draconian measures.

But your second paragraph is taking it way to far... I mean, why do you think most of the stuff they do, they have keep under wraps? There is only so much brainwashing the media can do to keep the population in place.

EDIT: further, it's frequently forgotten that the "founding fathers", despite wanting to create a freer nation that those in Europe, didn't exactly intend on creating a true democracy either: you can take a look at Madison to get the point. Their idea was mostly to limit the power to landowners and other wealthy people, not the great mass of the population.

I don't know much about the US history. But are you saying that the founding fathers were against giving voting rights to all the citizens? If I remember correctly, then the US was one of the first countries to abolish slavery and give voting rights to the black people.

No, I don't believe they were against giving voting rights to a lot of the population (well, mostly free white males anyway), but that was to be kept in check by the Senate, which was to be constituted by the "betters of society" (read, the wealthy). So in this sense, other than simply keeping a hold on power, one of their main concerns was to avoid a land reform (a redistribution of wealth) that would follow from inequality in a democracy.

In Madison's own words:

Quote
The man who is possessed of wealth, who lolls on his sofa, or rolls in his carriage, cannot judge of the wants or feelings of the day laborer. The government we mean to erect is intended to last for ages. The landed interest, at present, is prevalent; but in process of time, when we approximate to the states and kingdoms of Europe; when the number of landholders shall be comparatively small, through the various means of trade and manufactures, will not the landed interest be overbalanced in future elections, and unless wisely provided against, what will become of your government? In England, at this day, if elections were open to all classes of people, the property of the landed proprietors would be insecure. An agrarian law would soon take place. If these observations be just, our government ought to secure the permanent interests of the country against innovation. Landholders ought to have a share in the government, to support these invaluable interests, and to balance and check the other. They ought to be so constituted as to protect the minority of the opulent against the majority. The senate, therefore, ought to be this body; and to answer these purposes, they ought to have permanency and stability. Various have been the propositions; but my opinion is, the longer they continue in office, the better will these views be answered.

Yep, it's not immediate. You can still edit it for several minutes after at least (though no more than 10, if I had to guess).

And how ordinary user knows that some other user edited post ? Wink

Am I blind ? Because I do not see it here ...something like "this post has been edited x times" ...

Well, he said he would edit it later, hence the response.

I do not use ANY extensions Smiley I don't like any add-ons ... Smiley clean Browser works best.
No it doesn't. This is wrong. There are many useful extension for security and networking (don't forget ad block).

I don't know if it is available in Chrome, but a great security related add-on is NoScript... takes a bit of getting used to in the beginning though.

Hasn't it always been like this?

No. It has't been always like this. The turning point was the disintegration of the USSR. The Soviets neutralized any threats posed by the US and vice-versa. Right now the US is the sole super power. And that is bad news for the US citizens, as well as for other people.

If you ignore the conquest of the continental territory and the countless atrocities committed there, which most tend to conveniently forget, I think the "turning point" was when the US managed to overcome European influence all over the world (mostly having been restricted by the British navy). So, perhaps near 1900 with the invasion of the Philippines, which included terror, torture, indiscriminate murder, etc? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UNV-L21mWs - an interview with Peter Kuznick in TRN)

EDIT: further, it's frequently forgotten that the "founding fathers", despite wanting to create a freer nation that those in Europe, didn't exactly intend on creating a true democracy either: you can take a look at Madison to get the point. - rough average of what level reached and money earned after 1 month of logging in everyday
That depends on how much you invested into this game. Everyone's earning varies.

- what is OPs level, monthly income, and date joined if willing to share to give an idea of what can be expected
I'm currently Lv21 after a month of playing. I'm currently focusing on earning money so my level isn't high. Currently I'm earning approx 20-40 euro/month.

That's not bad. Smiley

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you invest in the game? Or is your current income mainly due to refs?

shoudn't people become more considerate about other ? I believe this is what's wrong with teh world Sad

Isn't being considerate about others and caring about what they think fundamentally different things though?
3156  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: April 28, 2014, 03:58:31 AM
My fav is Firefox. It works perfect, with lot of add-ons, and the most important thing: It is Open Source.

I don't have read the Chrome Privacy, but yes other Google's services terms, and it encourage me to use other products than google ones.

Same happen in search engine. I use StartPage and never use the Google search engine again.

me too. It can help me to avoid the annoying flash ads.

You can disable flash altogether in Firefox (and I'm sure in the other browsers as well), or force him to prompt you if you want to enable it for a particular page/page component. To do this, go to the menu, add-ons, then plugins, and change Flash to "ask to activate". No more flash ads. Grin

Why do you care what others think?

Posted a question in the ritz thread (just about the casino services), and got my post deleted because I have PRime Dice in signature. Lol!

Hmm, it couldn't have been only because of the signature, since several other people with PD signatures have posted there and the posts haven't been deleted. What else did you do?  Tongue

Like it or not, this thread represents bitcoin.
New people getting interested in bitcoin come to bitcointalk and look around. Seeing threats of this nature will drive away potential enthusiasts. It is surprising that the mods do not ban members that seek to destroy the integrity of bitcointalk.
Or maybe the mod in charge of this area is also an anti-Semite and bigot.

I don't think it is the mods' job to ban stuff like this; this should be handled as all other nonsense: either take the time to explain why it doesn't make sense, or laugh at it and then ignore it. Tongue

And anyone new to bitcoin will notice it for the extreme position that it is, and not for being the norm in the community; I mean, just read the rest of the comments.
