The problem is that every 24 hr period the earths surface is cooled by being in the dark and away from the sun for roughly 12 hours and the heat they want you to think heat is amassing is actually dissipating and making global warming impossible.

Where is the heat being dissipated to though?
3382  Other / Politics & Society / On the topic of climate change... on: December 19, 2013, 03:29:12 AM
After Reddit's Science sub banned non peer-reviewed sources regarding climate change denial and reading the comments on another thread here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=374873.0), I was wondering what your views are in relation to the effects humans have on the climate. I've included 3 options so far, but let me know if I'm missing other views on the subject.

EDIT: included 3 extra options in the poll. I'm not sure those that voted can change their choice though, and it's probably not a good idea to reset the counter.
3383  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: December 19, 2013, 02:44:23 AM
The demon possesed person who just posted above about the bbq sauce shows the entire truth about the global warming scam...its a luciferean/satanic ploy to cover up the mass murder the United Nations plans to release on the earth once they begin their New World Order- they plan to destroy all nations and create a one world govt (United Nations) and have a one world currency (btc?) and a one world religion where people pray to what they say.Its called the great tribulation in the Bible and it last 7 years then comes the end of the world. All you demonically oppressed people will laugh as that is your course until you are judged.

What I say is a fact and if you research it you will find that the Freemasons plan on murdering the majority of the people on the earth (once the holy spirit stops restraining them after the rapture)  to reduce the global population to 500 million---look up the Georgia Guidestones where the elite state in 12 languages they want to murder 90% of the earth - they use their environmental scare as the reason to justify their slaughter.

All who support this global warming lie are blinded by their sins and the sins of their parents before them...without GOD the race will go mad as we near judgement day... Global Warming= the justification for mass murder by the Luciferan United Nations global govt period

I can't even fathom the amount of free time someone must have to come up with such absurdities...  Shocked

More to the point, I'm also of the opinion that Reddit (or rather one of the subs, I imagine) shouldn't have banned climate change deniers outright; instead, they should strive to win the argument. But I'm curious as to how many people here are climate change deniers... I think I'll create a poll thread to find out, if there isn't one already.  Smiley

EDIT: I've created the poll thread I mentioned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=376835

Sorry, was in a rush.  Thanks for telling us Smiley

As a world-renowned expert in failing to get research grants, let me give you a pro tip: Never say what everyone else is saying. The best way to get funding is by claiming you can break the consensus, not by reinforcing it. Going against common wisdom adds sex-appeal to your grant application.

So, shouldn't he be doing the exact opposite of what you're advising?  Tongue
3386  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! on: December 18, 2013, 05:17:10 PM
You don't have to tell your bitcoin address here, you have to pm it for stunna at 17th day.

The rules changed for this month; check the original post. Also, don't edit your enrollment post for this month...  Tongue

Updating info as requested:

Nobody likes traitors. And , no matter what he did and what good will come out of it , he is a traitor.
Simply put:

“I love treason but hate a traitor.”
― Julius Caesar

I think the word you're looking for is whistleblower. He exposed wrongdoing, widespread abuses and outright illegal activities. Following the cases of William Binney, Thomas Drake, John Kiriakou, Chelsea Manning, etc, it's pretty obvious what happens when you go through channels. What more do you want? He sacrificed a lot to reveal what he knew; should he also have given his life?
3389  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Switzerland to vote on $2,800 monthly ‘basic income’ for adults on: December 17, 2013, 01:52:58 PM
Wait till he tries to get out of Russia. This is going to be so funny , when he understands where he is.
They won't let him go that easily. And they will turn to all that your have said above to get all the info from him.

Well yes, Russia isn't exactly a great example of freedom and democracy, to say the least, but what does it say about the West that his best option was to stay there?
3390  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Switzerland to vote on $2,800 monthly ‘basic income’ for adults on: December 17, 2013, 01:28:47 PM
Gerard Depardieu was a great actor , but how he started praising Russian , I will not look at him as a man with the same eyes.
Like Snowden , fighting for the freedom of speech and ending up hugging Putin.

I don't know about Depardieu, but if Snowden's only options are either staying in Russia or being sent to the US to be jailed, held incommunicado, possibly tortured, and having to wait for months before he even has a chance of appearing before a trial like Manning, I'd say Russia looks good by comparison.

3393  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long would it take for Anarchy to start working? on: December 16, 2013, 09:29:44 PM
2013 has been probably the best year in human history.  Life has never been better for a greater number of people.  Stop being such a fool and look at how good life is.

Even if our lives are in many respects better than they could have been in the past, that doesn't mean we shouldn't look for ways to improve them further. Roll Eyes
3394  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Preço do BITCOIN queda livre? on: December 16, 2013, 09:09:13 PM
Sim, deve ficar mais ou menos estável até ao fim do mês, mas imagino que não demore muito tempo a voltar a subir. Smiley
3395  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! on: December 16, 2013, 04:03:01 PM
I had the same question as well, whether we PM on the 16th or 17th.  So we PM on the 17th.  Then if we want to re-enroll we have to post on here again with our new post total, correct?  how fast is stunna normally in terms of payouts?  (same day or will we have to wait days?)

I think last month it took a couple of days for everyone to be paid, which considering the number of people enrolled in the program, isn't very surprising. Smiley

EDIT: In relation as to when to re-enroll, I'm not sure if you can do it immediately, or if you have to wait for stunna to verify your posts and pay first.
3396  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Switzerland to vote on $2,800 monthly ‘basic income’ for adults on: December 15, 2013, 01:21:06 AM
See this. Absolute madness. If someone gets $2,800 pm for free without doing any work, then how many adults will actually work for a living? In effect this is punishing hard working people, while rewarding the welfare kings and queens.

Hard working people should be punished for wasting their lives doing pointless meaningless work and wasting their one chance of existence.
People who manage to escape such as system should be rewarded for making the intellectual leap and realizing that all work is pointless.

Work is wasted life. We're not donkeys.

Totally agree with this.
Let's all stop working cause this defies evolution , we're not animals.
I wonder how the world will look after one year with nobody working , this is , if we still have a world and a planet left , and somebody to tell the story.

He's obviously stretching it too far, but let me put this another way: if you were to receive those $2800, would you be happy just sitting in your couch, doing nothing else for the rest of your life?

3398  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lose vs Loose on: December 14, 2013, 05:07:05 PM
In a 2010 study, it was estimated that approximately 9% of non-Hispanic Americans are fully bilingual, speaking English and having learned a new language fluently. That number jumps to 15% bilingual if you include Hispanics. On the other hand, 56% of the EU is multilingual. Countries like Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands increase that number to over 90%.

That's odd; I imagined that the percentage of bilingual people in the EU would be higher. But I suppose it makes sense, as older people are less likely to have had a second language at school.  Roll Eyes

Americunts demand that everyone conform to their language. When people try but get something wrong they bitch at them. I don't know how many times in my life I've heard the phrase, "If you can't speak the American language right then get the fuck out of this country." Really dude? That doesn't sound like Cherokee your speaking.

 Grin

EDIT: "[...] your speaking." you did that on purpose didn't you?  Tongue

When is best for me to join, the 17th and then start counting posts?

You can join now and if you don't reach the 50 posts minimum, it will carry on to the next month.

Sometimes I see people who use basic grammar reasonably well get this wrong, but I think that is down to an honest mistake, typo or an auto-correct.

If people just think about what they are saying/typing then they will realise what the correct usage is, at least I would hope so!

Maybe the education system needs to engage people in different ways, how exactly I'm not so sure.

Well, it's not that simple. As aforementioned, you can't ignore that a lot of users don't have English as their native language, so it's not necessarily intuitive for them how to spell/which form is correct. And without a good dose of "self-inflicted" exposure to English, there probably isn't much that the education system can do.
