No, it wasn't me who lost coins. I think a recent situation like this happened to either OutOfMemory or sirazimuth, IIRC. It can happen to anyone, and, let's face it, Bitcoin has radically changed the way we handle and protect our cash (of the digital variety, a.k.a. BTC). Even those of us who are very computer-literate can end up in situations like this, and you're right in that I've made several posts in the past emphasizing that fact.

To be clear, yes, I lost about half a bitcoin, about $200 in value at the time, (or something like that, I cant remember, 9 years ago) but it had nothing to do with being hacked. I have never lost a single satoshi from a hack. <redacted> Nuff said. Yeah, i lost a ledger, but easily restored the keys using a new one. And my first transaction was hijacked by malware. 0,1 BTC, early 2017. |

Sunday OT: One day (during the latest partial solar eclipse) I suddenly realized that the fact that Moon exactly blots out the sun is somewhat weird and is highly unlikely. The 'strange' triple alpha process that forms carbon in the stars (Hoyle state). 3. Sun had to be formed after heavy elements already accumulated...almost 8 bil years after the Big bang...basically, we are 'late". 4. Humans appear on earth 4.7 bil years after the planet was born and the planet has a maximum of another 1 bil years to go before the biosphere is bound to be destroyed by the expanding Sun that would be transitioning to a red giant. So, we appeared within the last 20% of the planet's life.."late" again. 5. The Moon is larger that the satellite of the earth size planet should be theoretically with astronomers proposing (and basically proving) that the Moon was formed by the collision of the "initial" earth with a body the size of mars, roughly. 6. That collision probably evaporated the original water on the planet and resulted in Earth being drier that it would have been otherwise, with most water being brought by comets and asteroids. 7. It is entirely possible that the core rotation and magnetic field plus tectonic plates movement was also caused by that collision, which ought to be a very rare event. 8. We are here during the time when we can still see galaxies. Some time later...in fact, much later, other galaxies will be invisible to us. 9. We live at the age when computing became widespread. Being born a hundred years early and we would have missed it. 10. Being born as "you"-that's a biggie. The problem is granularity and how to detect these yet undefined "entities" - which mostly consists of guessing (modeling) and simulating, mainly based on data from CERN and HST/JWST. Our reality is mainly a snapshot of the local result of universal (or multiversal) events, starting from day 0. Light (vision) is energy, sent across space. What we observe with telescopes is only the energy that was emitted from remote events (past realities) - so we don't look at things, we are looking at information which is forming a visual abstraction of what is (aka "god" - following more recent translations of "JHW"). I won't get on, because it always blows my mind doing so, too complex to be expressed using so little words. Anyway, we seem not to be made to decode universal being, since we are a subsidiary part of it all, so we should just try to live our lives, knowing - or assuming- there are a lot things going on out there which are too complex and hideous to be explored. We're just a grain of sand in the desert, and every time i take a telescope out in the backyard and capture photons originating from events so insanely big and far away, i remind myself of how small we are, and everything that seemed somehow "important" to me before - just disappears. And yes, we are lucky as fuck to be here in this now in this place. Likely less than a once-in-a-universe coincidence. If this would actually pass and get activated, we have a bigger, underlying problem. But stupidity is common, and politicians aren't immune to it. I think it needs a lot of stupidity to make the majority of decision/law-makers to actually assume CVC's as a actual violation of the PA. I did a Google image search and got a single hit to some kind of social media page of a Japanese gal, that's full of AI-generated girls. Knuckles/palm looks OK to me. Maybe borderline 6-fingered, but not clear enough. Doesn't in the least affect the overall hotness of the girl. Not even questioning the hotness But there are some more hints if you look closer. The shadow of the hair strand, different reflections in both pupils, shadow of the forearm is missing. I'm absolutely drawn to details, you know. Sounds like you should have had the sedative with the prep lol. I've heard of some people getting nausea and other issues, I avoided that luckily (I used picoprep, don't know if that helped). I did wish I had a bidet at home rather than just toilet paper. Super soft my ass.
I didn't think the pill was anywhere near as effective at detecting anything and is not reccommended for colorectal cancer screening.
I just watched a short report in a science magazine on TV, must be 3-5 years ago now. In my culture things are handled in a more "classic" (if not oldfashioned) way, so even bitter salt would have been tolerated much better by my intestines, but i guess it wouldnt have been hard to get picoprep under a different brand name over here. The good thing is, i wasn't aware about my FM before colonoscopy, but it was soon diagnosed after some extra checks inspired by the colonoscopy results. |

I find the prep to be worse than the actual procedure. Assuming a good anesthetist that is. I second that. I did one recently enough and it was not a problem at all. Sedative plus the twilight anesthesia thing and you won't notice a thing. My prep was 50 grams of Mannite dissolved in half a gallon of water to drink. Be aware that i suffer from Fructose Malabsorption, so it worked very well. But the nausea afterwards was horrible, lasting for about two hours, not to speak about the other side effects. That was all, i refused any sedative and laxatives, like every other real man  Antisthenes macho post in 3... 2... 1... By the way, @Antisthenes, real men are able to do things that normal men are afraid of. So feel free to go on with your teenage homophobic issues EDIT: I forgot about the most modern method of colonoscopy, it's even better and non-invasive. You swallow a (quite big) "pill", which is a camera that records all of the way from your mouth to the exit. This way the small intestine and ileocecal valve is also covered. No pain, no tubes, no embarassment or shame involved, unless it doesn't capture something that shouldn't be there. * OutOfMemory thinking about Gachapin's "Examples of rectal foreign bodies" list It's over... We're going back to $12k.

Relax. It's the best you can do. I was swallowing half an inch thick tube at my gastroscopies (2x), the (one) colonoscopy was not even half as stressful. It might like twitch every now and then, in a diffuse way, can't describe it. If your doctor is not a completely dumb prick, all will be well. |

Since the WO is being spammed with way too many middle fingers, i decided to shoot back offtopicly, with an image of the killer of all evil... Say Hello to SH2-184 (aka " Pacman Nebula"):  One of the results of some dark, clear nights from recent weeks. As i finished the most important work around the house, i have time to process all the data. This time, the picture fell victim to a "phantom spike", as seen on newtonian telescopes with bright stars outside the camera's field of view, but still inside the focuser tube/secondary mirror scope. It displays as a bright line from top to bottom, parallel to two of the four "star spikes" produced by diffraction of the mirror holder "arms". I have to flock the sides of the damn thing with velvet to tame them. So, without referencing a hubble-like-quality image from google, can you see the pacman? |
