322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mine BTC Gold...??? on: October 29, 2017, 10:28:03 PM
While there is currently no way to mine bitcoin gold as of now, you can get ready to mine it when it goes live by downloading an EQUIHASH algorithm miner like "EWBF's miner." Just google search and you should find it easily. Just learn how to configure it first and maybe mine ZCASH (same equihash algorithm) while waiting for bitcoin gold to go live.

claymore should work for AMD Cards according to some of the POOLS, I'm watching.

328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Awesome Miner for multi algo and OC management on: October 23, 2017, 01:12:29 AM
I have the Premium Edition it's worth it i may upgrade to the next version in a month or two , i don't see me running more then 20 miners in my home at some point  i'm only upgrading to the Enterprise edition for the Security and multi-user access control..
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Gold Mining on: October 18, 2017, 05:55:46 PM
In any case, the Bitcoin Gold will take part of the power of mining from the altcoins. So that the miners of all coins will be satisfied.

I don't think many people will mine it from the start, you'll get your BTG a lot faster by importing your private keys than waiting for blocks to mature.

I would hold off i know some won't but i am just gonna have some btc on that key encase an wait till i see it's ok to use safety . and gonna start Mining day one if it's possible with 4 rigs...
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Server PSU and GPU mining tip on: October 18, 2017, 05:34:52 PM
if you would rather use a server PSU to power those GPU rigs .. I discovered one way I'm sure others know of it..

all you need is the breakout board that matches the PSU you want to use and a few cables and a DC 12V 160W 24Pin Pico ATX Switch PSU,

i would go with a 150 watt or better...Pico ATX Switch PSU

for the CPU EPS plug on the mother board from the server PSU using a PCIe cable you can use a pcei 6 pin cable from PSU to the CPU EPS plug with the below converter ,this takes a lot of stress off the Pico ATX Switch psu so it only powers the Mother board and SSD the CPU is powered from the Server PSU with a true 12 V constant. link below.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EEOW3CA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

DC 12V 160W 24Pin Pico ATX Switch PSU..
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075DXW5T9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

or you can buy this one it's pretty nice , i was supersized at the quality of it for the price, just came to day I''m building my 5th in home GPU rig.. that's probably gonna be my limit with GPU rigs..

6pin input DC 12V 250W 24pin Pico ATX Switch PSU Car Auto Mini ITX power module

https://www.ebay.com/itm/6pin-input-DC-12V-250W-24pin-Pico-ATX-Switch-PSU-Car-Auto-Mini-ITX-power-module/222612804598?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

you can make you own PCIe to barrel plug to power DC 12V 160W 24Pin Pico ATX Switch PSU, this gives you some idea what to use ...... i bought cables at one time ten with out the barrel plugs for 10 bucks an a 10 pack of barrel plugs for less then 7.99 on ebay and was able to make ten and save ...

http://www.parallelminer.com/product/14awg-6-pin-pcie-cable-with-adapter-to-power-atx-module-160w-and-180w/

just a tip or two to help out and save you some cash for the more important things for that rig like cards ..you won't need a ATX PSU to power the Mother board unless you like it that way. i didn't so i did some reading an found out how to do it with a  sever psu that is a safer and better way to me and save a lot of cash on psu power for that rig.

The links in this post are general links to give some idea,as to what you need ...

the 2400 watt delta psu they sell is nice.
the break out boards seem okay

but  aluminum wire is meh and it may be 18 gauge not 16

Sidehack boards work on those i use one with two of Sidehack boards...

That link downloads the latest minera image which is 0.8.1  Sad

Those people who have upgraded to 0.8.1 - do you use nicehash o MMR?   If so, are you having issues?

I use nice hash with MMR and minera some times with one Scrpt miners or my A6/sha256 miner, no issues here.

why upgrade just install 8.1 the image link on page one is 8.1 i thought ...I. don't know for sure I manually install minera my pi are not RPI all but one is .. i even manually install minera on that one RPI3 from a clean install with Ubuntu 16.

there use to be a way to get any of the images builds by typing the build number in a link i forgot how to and if you still can ..

336  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PROOF: Bitmain is selling old hardware as NEW miners! on: October 12, 2017, 01:52:44 AM
Block chain or blockchain is not a technology, nothing hot, nothing new, as old as hashing.
Blockchain is not green , is not eco, is the most expensive idea ever implemented in the public,
to make "idiots busy" - following an old Internet hoax - How to make idiot busy.

Selling refurbished hardware stuff is as old on the eBay as eBay self.

So you are free to buy or not to buy and negotiate terms, discuss details, exactly as buying new/used car.

That wasn't my point

O an that makes it ok to sell Used junk as new ? ....at least on Ebay you can do something about it in most cases you get your money back.. with bitmain GL.

an in this case this no negotiating terms.. you either buy it or you don't used or new bitmain doesn't care you get what they sell you, with no claim as to if it's new or used and bitmian used to or at least acted like they  cared til the antminer S5 came out an about then they started getting what they think is control , which is to rich for there own good.

You missed my whole point ...

The block chain or  blockchain or whatever , is a technology not a hardware technology but it is a technology and that technology is needed to trade bitcoins or any coin...or mine
I never once thought of it, as a way to get rich, sigh..

why am i even bothering to explain to a Newbie who is either a troll or in learning mode or made a account so he or she could try to make others look bad without letting on who he or she really is ...

I was only commenting about how bad bitmain got over the years because of greed mostly, an there time is coming and we may have some new and fresh players that care or are honest to some degree from the free world an the OP is right , most of us know how bad bitmain is, an it's all ways good to see others prove it .

I'll shut up now before this leads to something it shouldn't...

PROOF: Bitmain is selling old hardware as NEW miners!

LMAO who needed Proof it's all ways been that way ....

I hope when japan starts to take over next year that company is honest and sells new gear and not used shit .Sense it's a free world company we just might see some form of honestly again ..  i know some will say most in the free world are this or that, then go live in china I say lol then come back and say that, soon they will out law bitcoins or limit the use so bad in china no one will care or want to deal with china any more bitcoin wise, SO what if they do there lose the rest of the world won't care in fact in my State BTCS http://www.btcs.com/index.php  has opened the first public US block chain so a email i just got claimed ..things in my state are really starting to look good and not Because of the commander in chief ass hole in office either ..
bitmain  pissed me off to the point i told them fuck off and i haven't bought one thing from them sense and won't but that's me ...I could have a few times so  I put it into GPUS and Scrpt miners etc and I'm not pushing GPU's here, I know better ..I like mining and can't give it up...... mostly for fun and I learn a lot and i will admit it for the cash.

edit

PS: i remember a time when Bitmain may have seemed honest and told us they were selling used miner and sold them as used not any more they don't care .an. in there eyes why should they that got and keep getting what they want form us ...and we let them so who's fault is it really .. well any way GL i hope you some how get some thing back in return at some point .
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solar powered CPU mining on: September 29, 2017, 06:35:41 AM
I don't see the point of a dedicated solar system for mining. Solar is just one power source and mining is just one
power load. Why not connect the solar to the house power as a hybrid system where you can use solar for everything
when it's available and commercial power when not. This would avoid imbalances in power availability and load.
A dedicated solar mining system would either have excess load leaving some mining HW without power or
too much power that can't be absorbed by the mining HW and would have to be bled off and wasted. A hybrid system\
would ensure all the mining HW is mining all the time.
Using GRID-TIE and exporting your excess electricity in to the grid just like joblo said and of course no need for battery since it will make your cost double. What you need is inverter that greater from your current need since you just can add more solar panel later (if you got small budget).
Yeah, especially that requlations in EU country can be funny ( In my country, we have to PAY to grid owner tax for sending him our produced electricity and they act as Vault of Energy, taking additional 20% of it for free - not good option :x )

in the US the Electric Company pays us for any thing we make and don't use Smiley . but some solar company's if you rent there panels will charge you for what you don't use in the US i found that kind of stupid, so I stayed a way form them sense most of the ones i looked at lets us keep anything left over an auto sells it to the to the Electric Company by law they  have to take it and pay us but we have to stay on the Grind in my state .

some states in the US  are trying what you deal with in the EU but it won't pass . mostly the Republican states .

340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Zcash on: September 29, 2017, 05:17:52 AM
Some incredible mining profit spikes on Zcash since last night but they only last a few minutes.  My rig makes about $8-9 per day the last week mining ETH/DCR or Zcash and last night Zcash spiked to $11.50 for a few minutes.

I'm even mining it with my AMD cards.  I did not realize how little power 570s and 580s use to mine Zcash compared to ETH and ETH/dual mining.  My 4 AMD cards are using almost 300W less when mining ZCash vs ETH/DCR!  That works out to about 75 cents per day saved on power and everything runs much cooler.  So now I am factoring that into my decisions about what to mine.

yup indeed but for how long ...

i have all ways mined Zec no matter what, sense it came out last OCt 2016 live . and it has lasted, I'm impressed, I like the idea, i guess, is why and like it more then ETH ...
