321  Economy / Economics / Re: 6 billion to solve world hunger? on: November 03, 2021, 11:53:53 PM
Based on this article [1] there're 811 million people worldwide still lack of food, so 6 billion/811 million is $7,39. I don't think with such amount will solve world hunger or even Musk give more money, still it doesn't resolve the cause of world hunger. Lack of skills, poor money management, bad income distribution or lazy are the cause of world hunger. Teach a man to fish, rather than give fish.

[1] https://www.actionagainsthunger.org/world-hunger-facts-statistics
True the fraction might not solve the world's hungry population but a single man (musk) donating $6 billion from selling his Tesla shares indicates a heart for humanity. Only if we can afford more selfless individuals like him we might end up conquering more and feeding even greater population but trust me this would go a long way to reducing the population from 811 billion

What Elon Musk did by donating $6 billion should be appreciated, although I admit it does not solve the problem of the world's hungry population.
But what Elon Musk is doing might help alleviate the problem of a population that is experiencing hunger, and also don't underestimate the effect
that occurs, there could be other rich people who donate money because they see what Elon Musk has done. It is not as easy as turning the palm of
the hand to solve the problem of hunger in the world. But at least Elon Musk is moving to help than other people who can only comment without
doing anything. Even though I don't like Elon Musk, I have to commend what Elon Musk has done. It's true that helping hungry people is not enough
to give them money, but giving them the skills and motivation to make money is much more helpful. Therefore, the problem of hunger in the world is
quite complicated, many parties must be involved to solve it.

But Elon has not given the money yet. He is still asking if they can show how $6B can resolve world hunger problem and he is more than willing to share some of the Tesla shares. We know that amount can't totally eradicate world hunger problem but at least he is willing to shell some of his wealth to address this problem. If more wealthy people will contribute their shares, I believe, a lot will benefit from it. And maybe, create jobs for these people rather than hand out those few bucks to each of them. Think of long-term solution not a band-aid solution.
322  Economy / Economics / Re: How is financial stability defined for you? on: November 03, 2021, 11:13:56 PM
Not getting too much technical or deep about the explanation of what financial stable is, but in general, as long as we are capable to spend on basic and necessary things, while can also afford to spend on those unnecessary or emergency ones, without worrying about the whole money in circulation, that's what I called financial stability. Obviously, for that to happen, people should have a stable and fixed source of income.

With the pandemic happening, we now somehow realize what kind of business and investments are worth to risk some money as we saw those surviving assets and businesses that still dominate despite the pandemic. People can consider putting money on those as part of their goal to have financial stability.

We have the same take on this matter. Also, I can consider having financial stability if you have no debts to anyone. It is hard if you owe something from your friends or from the banks, as you need to worry about the payment for the debt. And yes, at least with savings that you can pull anytime, especially in case of emergency. We don't need to be rich to be considered financially stable, as long as we can provide our basic necessities without worry along with some savings, I consider it financially stable.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SQUID GAMES TOKEN CRASHES on: November 03, 2021, 10:06:04 PM

Those who bought at the top lost tremendous money but what about those bought the dip before? They are driving cars and flying jets now. Always remember that.

it's true, there are those who are lucky to buy tokens at low prices but it's unfair for those who buy at the top if the ending is directly you can see how the rug pull process occurs.  In fact, there are many videos that show live streaming of the seconds of the massive rug pull happening.  There are a lot of shitcoins out there today, but this is one of the worst.  When you are in the position of those who buy at the top and are not given any warning signs of a general market crash and then just drop to 0, isn't that the same as robbery?

It in fact is a robbery. According to them, there were provision of restricting the developers from selling their coins in the smart contract. But they had purposefully left some loop holes to manipulate it and sell their coins when the price was highest.
Most of the people joining the project were aware that it is risky but still greed made them do it. People should wait to get proper reviews and audits from audit agencies before deciding to trust your money to some defi.
Security of course is of most importance when going into the 'unknown' but considering the hype around this you could say that it didn't give out a good vibe. Sure enough, the people who were fooled by it suffered irrecuperable losses and this is not because they didn't listen but because the greed overpowered their sense of sensibility and reality.

I hope at least those affected can learn from this grave experience and become better investors.

If I may add, to the trained eye, this rug pull was always a matter of time, a matter of 'when'.

I believe most are thinking that it may have the same fate like SHIB. But unfortunately, it is not. As the "dev" team decided to pocket money and disappear into thin air. If you want better assurance with your portfolio, better keep your choices in the top alts. And of course, bitcoin for me, should always be included as much as possible. Others are disappearing but we know, btc has the stronghold to survive in the market.

With this recent crash of meme token, more than likely, a lot of newcomers got burned. So they are thinking that crypto is a scam but it is the project itself. That's when confusion arises when newcomers try to ride the hype without sufficient knowledge of the market.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we accelerate the mass adoption of crypto? on: November 03, 2021, 12:11:49 PM
In accelerating the process of adopting crypto to the community there must be government intervention. With the presence of the government, they can easily socialize cryptocurrency to their citizens by placing service advertisements on tv, placing crypto ads on banners on every street and being able to use famous influencers, so I believe Crypto adoption will be lightning fast.

We will see this kind of intervention in El Salvador, as a very good example as the government is recognizing btc as legal tender. Maybe after 6 months or 1 year, we will know what improvement in terms of adoption from this country. Their government itself is promoting the use of crypto so in their case, we will expect an increase of crypto users. But if you are living in a country where the government is not banning the use of crypto but allowing the use of it, you can always share your experience to others like your immediate family, colleagues or friends. But better share it to those who are interested to learn because for those who are not, you will probably encounter hesitations or criticisms.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Surviving For Tomorrow on: November 02, 2021, 10:41:56 PM
making a bunch of your portfolio should be a sure way to survive the crash of some coins on your portfolio knowing fully well not all would do well while some will crash others would produce profit able to cover up the losses
If your portfolio is full of shitcoins, many are more likely to crash than to rise, so even if a couple does spike up in price there would still be a lot that could keep you at a loss.

Diversity is the spice of crypto.
I would rather say, diversity is the spice of investment; and to truly diversify, you should be investing in assets which are not correlated, like bitcoin and gold or stocks in a football club, this way a crash in one has very little effect on another and you can choose the best options from several fields.

So he needs to keep up with the updates of his other holdings, and sell them before they totally gone out of the market. It is good to invest on some cheap coins but make sure you also do your research. Because most of them have no chance of going up as they will be abandoned by their respective developers. It is good that he had good profits from SHIB, because I have the feeling that this meme token will not last long. Once the hype is over, for sure, this will be abandoned by the team who is behind this. No strong use case, hard to survive.

327  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting things off your list. on: November 01, 2021, 05:55:40 PM
I do not understand this concept at all. If you are waiting for it that means you might not be financially ready for it, therefore buying a house in a very expensive place might mean you would have to compromise on many other things. There are places where renting is cheaper for long term and buying a house would need a lot of other things, might not be too easy for a lot of people as well.

I think it's wiser to look for opportunities and investments that would grow eventually and would not just be a burden. Buying a car would mean that you are investing in something whose value will decrease overtime and if you do invest that money in someplace else like bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies, you can keep making long term profits.

It's not just being in a haste it's more about choosing things which are right for you and for your financial situation at that moment.

I believe, the OP is just giving some examples of the situation. But the idea is like, why do things tomorrow if you can do it today? So following what needs to be done, will remove the burden you are carrying. So the circumstances will depend on each person here. It depends on your financial capability when you are talking about material things that you want. But when it comes to other activities, a lot of us are guilty of delaying things up until we are in cramming mode.
328  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we see new ATH this year? on: October 28, 2021, 10:03:38 PM
This is very difficult to speculate but I expect that Bitcoin will hit a new ATH this year maybe $70k or more. Most likely until the end of the year, we should prepare ourselves. and don't worry too much about the current price. Today the price went up to 58k $ it seems next month bitcoin will continue to rise to 60k and if the price of bitocin does not make a new ATH this year because of them We will still see many new ATHs in the years to come.

We actually bounced to over 61k already after this 58k decline. And now, we are more than 60k. So this roller coaster ride may continue and yes, I do believe, that we may hit another ATH before this year ends. 70k is a possible number but just keep an eye with the updates and we will have idea how these news may affect the current trend.
329  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For those who think that they caught the moment when it's late to buy on: October 27, 2021, 11:58:28 PM
If it's too late to buy, then why don't you never think about opening a short position on futures trading? I really just don't get it.
It is not too late to buy, now is a perfect time to buy. Since today the market is in a big correction, there are many coins having very cheap prices. Considering we probably have an altcoins season in the next few weeks, better to decide to buy this time. I am sure the market correction won't last a very long time. In my opinion, the next jump must happen before the end of this year.

There is no early or late time to buy in crypto. As long as you know when to sell (which of course, should be higher than your buying price), then it is all good. Usually, people have high expectations with their profits, the reason why many people are waiting long time before they sell. But the common case is that the coin they are waiting to increase its price, is continuously going down. Only few coins can rise after the dump. So if you are a beginner, in my opinion, better keep your portfolio in the top and established markets.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum reach $5,000 by 2021? on: October 27, 2021, 11:33:33 PM
Unfortunately today the price of ethereum dropped more than 5%, which made the price drop below $4000, but I am optimistic that the price of ethereum this year can reach $5000, just need a little positive sentiment from the market to make the price of ethereum skyrocket and reach $500000.

If a 5% drop is "unfortunate" for you then I don't know if you truly deserve the possible skyrocketing price that will happen on Etherium in the future.

I don't know if you are serious but try to just become optimistic within just the realistic thing that will happen as the $500,000 price you mentioned won't be achieved even we count for 5 years.

I'm 100% sure about that.

Some people have high expectations even if the market performance of the coin is actually doing good. $5k level for ETH is I believe easy to achieve if in case there will be developments in terms of the reduction of gas fees. But as we can see, even if the gas fee is quite expensive as compared with other networks, we have just seen a new ATH for ETH few days ago. So it means, the trust from the community is still there and they are just waiting for the time that they will actually see some good progress in the network. So once we see the gas fees dropping, we may see a rising price for ETH and some people will regret that they haven't bought eth when it was still in the $4k level.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Radiologex - Healthcare Happens Here! on: October 27, 2021, 10:40:46 PM
Hey everybody. Has anyone looked into Radiologex STO offering? Their investor platform offers bonuses for investors that appear almost too good to be true. Is there anything that could be worrisome or am I being paranoid?

Check first the authenticity of the project if you are worried about your funds.

@OP, since this project has TM mark, I am assuming the use of this symbol has already been approved and not in the pending stage? Because some projects are using the TM symbol even if it is not yet approved.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going for the Underdog or Not? on: October 27, 2021, 09:58:17 PM
A little research can help you to decide in that kind of situation. Thats the edge of sports betting compared to other gambling games, we can somehow predict who's going to win depending on the background and previous fights of a player (team) so we can get an idea.

If you like to take risk then go for the underdog, otherwise, go to the people's champ. For me, it depends on their background, underdog doesnt necessarily mean he's not capable of winning, its just that he is not the favorite.
The research for the match will help us determine which player or team has more chances to win. Going with the underdog or the opposite will depend on the result of the research itself but it is better not to place all of the amounts if you think you can use it for the next match. If you think that your chance at that time is big, you can use all of the money to throw to the team that you select.
Dont really have that kind of habit on going all in no matter how sure i am on said or particular game because we know that upset could really happen and if you are in doubt then testing out with small amounts isnt really that a bad idea but the urge or the emotion that we do have would tell the opposite thing thats why peoples betting habit does really vary because some are way too impulsive and some does have that good self control and wont be tending to bet on one go.So it does vary.

Using it for other bets may lessen your chance of losing it all. So I do agree, if you are not really sure, why not place other bets and distribute it? So if in case you lose on one, you still have the chance on another. Nowadays, with crypto bookies, you can easily place your bets on many games. So if you are patient enough, you can actually have many bets with that $10. Also, if that amount really matters to you, better bet it on games that you are very familiar with and you have the knowledge that athlete has the chance to win even if he is the underdog.
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to sports bet ( BITCOIN book) on: October 27, 2021, 08:38:15 PM
Hey I want to deposit a little bit of BTC, I like to sports bet and do maybe 20 a game, but I do not know which book to choose.  Any suggestions?

I think Fortune jack has been around for quite some while and has a good reputation in terms of sports betting, So I'd suggest that website.

There are people that are suggesting Sportsbet, which is also a good website looking at their reputation.
If I were you then I would bet on any of those 2 websites.

I have read somewhere here in the gambling board that FJ is requiring KYC for first cash out. I think, it comes from a review site. But don't know if they are really requiring all users to undergo KYC. But that is, if the OP is fine with KYC. However, if not, there are so many reputable sportsbooks in the forum that others already mentioned above. What he can do is check the min deposit/withdrawal and which one suits his requirements. Better opt for no KYC as he is only playing small here so it is not practical to play in a site that requires KYC for all users.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fiat-betting to crypto+betting on: October 27, 2021, 07:54:28 PM
1. It's more private
Honestly speaking, no it's not. Crypto betting is slowly moving to fiat gambling standards. More and more sportsbooks are now asking for KYC. That said, the casino part of crypto gambling is still very safe and respects privacy.
Indeed. The government seems to want to know who the player is and trying to ask KYC to the casino and maybe that is why the casino is trying to apply KYC to their members. But hopefully, there is still a crypto betting that does not require KYC to its members, especially if the crypto betting site is hosted in the country that allows gambling. So we have our options to select which crypto betting site we will use to gamble and always avoid playing in the crypto gambling site that requires KYC.

Actually, there are still a lot of known crypto sportsbooks in this forum that don't require KYC. However, if you are high roller, expect that the casino may possibly ask your KYC as per requirement of their gambling license. But other than this KYC stuff, crypto casinos have other advantages as you can play with other alts and let's say, you can play cheap. You can even bet in some casinos like 100 sats or its equivalent in other alts. So if you just want to enjoy the game and want to have fun bet, you can always do.
335  Economy / Speculation / Re: New All Time High Baby! - $66,974.77 on: October 26, 2021, 11:59:41 PM
The current correction is a bit frustrating, hopefully we start to go up again soon. I’m getting spoilt & just want more up  Grin

$100,000 per coin is coming this year, I’m just so impatient.

Yeah, we thought that it can continue to go at least $70K, but it is what it is, sometimes we do need this healthy correction to bring more investors.

Who wouldn't want to see the price hitting $100,000?

But we need more patience mate, it's just about two months from now that we might hit that magical numbers. Don't sell!!!

yes now we need a lot of patience to be able to see the price of $ 100 thousand. the bitcoin market is often volatile so the market often goes up and down which causes a slow process of reaching the highest price of $100k. we cannot assume that the bullrun market continues because the reality often does not.

While waiting to build that price level, you can always think of ways how to increase your portfolio. Every little dip, you can buy more. Because if you truly believe that we will reach high price, let's say 100k, then it would not be too difficult for you to shell out and buy more at this 60k level. Because you know, in the near future, you will reap the rewards of what you are doing today. Keep up with your goals and later on, you will thank yourself for staying with that strategy.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the $500 for? NFT or Coin! on: October 26, 2021, 11:37:52 PM
This year is of GameFi. If you want to read about a real dark horse, then here's my advice - pay attention to such a project as YAY GAMES. It seems to me that over time this project will blow up the market because it is more relevant than ever in our time.
If the project seems to you to be progressing very well, then there is no need to suggest it to anyone before you experience the results yourself, because all new projects are uncertain things and any suggestions that don't work out are bullshit for which anyone should be held accountable ever give advice, Are you ready for it ?

This is hard to suggest specific project. How can you be so sure like for example this yay games will be a hit in the market? If I have that amount, I will definitely put big percentage on bitcoin, and the rest will be valuable alts like ETH. Because with NFT, though they have the chance to get big, but you don't know if that specific NFT item will fetch high price when you want to sell it. Weigh your priorities and your considerations.
337  Economy / Economics / Re: eNaira launched in Nigeria as a digital currency on: October 26, 2021, 10:55:07 PM
This eNaira launching in Nigeria is just another kind of way to steal money. To me, anything digital currency should be Transparent. There is no Transparency in any kind of eNaira digital currency usage. The transaction is not transparent and its look just like a centralized digital nonsense.
To me, Nigerian government wanna make things easy for themselves by stealing more money by minting more centralized digital currency to thier wallets).
eNaira have not been mentioned to relate to anything related to blockchain

What you are saying may really happen in their country. But if they introduce digital currency to its citizens, then maybe it will be the start for its people to be acquainted with cryptocurrency. And once they realized about the benefits brought about by crypto vs their national digital currency, they may opt for crypto instead. So I don't see this move in total negative side, there may be good things that will arise from this initiative.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think TVK coin is the right investment? on: October 25, 2021, 11:22:23 PM
of course!
TVK is one of the coins that is predicted to explode in the future, we can see that in the last 3 months, the price of TVK itself had reached $0.45, although now the price of TVK has dropped to $0.19, I think TVK can be an option good for long term investment.
I'm sure TVK can reach at least $1 by 2022.

May I know the reasons why it has being predicted to explode? Because the truth is, this is the first time I encountered this coin. What are the actual products or services that they are offering to the community? Can you name one practical application of this platform?
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fiat-betting to crypto+betting on: October 25, 2021, 09:16:41 PM
Is it really necessary to discuss the advantages of crypto betting over fiat betting? For what? Encouragement?

Remember not all gamblers are crypto-oriented and simply just don't want to crypto. It will be biased if we will just push our own preferences to them. As long as gamblers are enjoying advantages at either fiat or crypto betting, that's what matters.

Choose what you preferred, simple as that.

I believe not encouragement but the OP maybe is just happy to share the advantages that he found when he used the crypto betting method. Honestly, I haven't placed bet in fiat method and when I became oriented with crypto sportsbooks here, I found it very convenient for me and just place small bets on the sports that I am really interested with. But I do agree a lot of these sportsbettors are still fiat-based, but give it a time and a lot of them will be converted to this type of betting as they will discover about the perks brought by crypto betting.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going public saying you own Bitcoin is not safe anymore on: October 25, 2021, 07:11:08 PM
back in 2012-13. saying i had my hoards was not that big a deal. it was only a couple $k
but now even if i down play how much i have and just say i mess around with 1-2 coins. it perks up soo many ears and you start seeing people try getting a little too interested.

i resorted to just saying "international currency trading" it solves many conversational issues. you dont have to sound/appear as a 'nerd' explaining bitcoin. you dont have to make it sound like you have wealth. you dont have to going into huge detail.

if i get to know someone and they want more detail. fine. but i dont do the same initial conversation about how i make money as i did 8-9 years ago.

heck even on this forum i have never actually admitted exact value i have. and no one needs to know, and no one should be asking

In short, just mind our own business. There's no need to brag or disclose it to social media about how you are doing in crypto or if you are into crypto. Better keep it to yourself. You will find out that you will have a peace of mind dealing with other people if they don't know you are into crypto. Some people are just going public just to feed their ego, boasting it to social media that they know crypto. But if you are here long enough, you will keep silent about this. You know better.
