1141  Economy / Economics / Re: Marathon Invests $150 Million In Bitcoin on: January 25, 2021, 09:29:32 PM
@ OP, you forgot to include your article reference link.
But read also from this site about this marathon investments.
https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2021/01/25/2163436/0/en/Marathon-Invests-150-Million-in-Bitcoin.html

As they bought above 31k level, that means, they have strong expectations that bitcoin will increase much further and not go below 30k. As they are a mining company, I guess they are taking advantage of the cold weather of quebec, and looking for profits investing more miners in the next months to come.
1142  Economy / Economics / Re: The sale of the COVID-19 vaccine on the dark web continues. on: January 24, 2021, 11:52:42 PM
Buying vaccines on the black market is stupid, because vaccines cannot be sold freely (except in your own country which is regulated and determined by the government to be purchased online / offline), so buying vaccines on the black market in my opinion does not guarantee its authenticity.
If we are stupid, that doesn't mean they will easily fool us who just want to make money fraudulently and better wait for a vaccine from a safe and secure government.

That's true, if you want authentic one, why not contact your health authorities? You are already paying a hefty amount if you will contact these online scammers. Why not pay for the real product and genuine one? Your health is at risk, so don't ever trust these online sellers. Really stupid if you will buy one in the black market. There's no advantage of doing so. Instead you are putting yourself in danger. I don't understand why some people will choose to buy in the black market rather than trust their health authorities?
1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the things to look for when buying Altcoin? on: January 24, 2021, 11:31:36 PM
Currently, if you want to buy any altcoin, it is very difficult. You can't choose an option quite easily. Also, the crypto market is currently volatile. In such circumstances if one wants to buy altcoin. So what should be the main focus?

The main focuses, according to me, should be :
- The project's use case
- The tokenomics (supply, way the token are unleashed ...)
- The community and the holders (have a look at holders wallet on etherscan for example).

We may add a few other things but, if all is ok in the previsous list, then i could start to 'think' to invest  Wink

My 2 cents
These are the things that we should consider and we should learn to learn before anything else so that this can be use in the future when we are about to wait for a coin to pump, so all people should not be carried away just because of the hype they will buy the coin, it is not good and quiet impulsive to buy coin without researching for it. Project plan should be consider in order for us to determine if the altcoin is goona have a good potential in the market or not.

If I may add here, when it comes to altcoins, I now look not only the use case but if they have also active users for that application. Because basically, any project can create a good use case but when it comes to actual application, only few to none are using it. So if the use case will not hit in the market, still there is a chance that they will have short lifespan and so it is easy to abandon this project. So for me, it is better to look for app with many users and actively using it , not because they were required to sign up because of some rewards, but because they find this app useful in their daily life. I think that will be more sustainable.
1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: You can lose transfering and withdrawing on: January 24, 2021, 10:25:49 PM
1. ETH gas fee is always changing. although it is basically high enough these days, there is a certain time that ETH gas fee is quite low, only around 2$ and you can check it before transferring your token. remember, you need also to check whether you choose the speed of the transaction. higher speed will make a higher fee.

2. You need to compare the exchange to sell FRM.
You can find several exchanges to trade Ferrum, check it here https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ferrum-network/markets/
You can compare the trading fee and also withdrawal fees of each exchange.

3. If you feel that the fee of ETH withdrawal is high enough from an exchange to your local exchange, better to convert it to other coins or tokens that have a low fee. they are likely XLM or using USDT with TRC20 network if available.

That's very right! You can always check the eth network before sending your token or eth. Actually, you can even set it to slow (which sometimes will be below $2), done this the other day, and still it went thru fast. Those tips above are actually not new for regular traders. It is how you strategize your transfer and trading, to incur minimal fee as much as possible. And in terms of transferring from one exchange to another, choose a relatively stable coin with less fees like LTC or DOGE. Most exchanges have this trading pair. If you are really a newbie in crypto trading, you will lose a lot if you are not careful with your steps.
1145  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I sell or hold on my bitcoin? on: January 24, 2021, 09:44:19 PM
It depends on your requirement, if you are looking for quick cash in terms of emergency then cashout else don't cashout now as there are investments poring into bitcoin which will surely lead to further bullrun or atleast reach the last ATH. Bitcoin market will keep fluctuating and you have to decide if you want to settle for the profit which you have earned then cashout else wait for bitcoin's price to buckle up which has higher possibilities. Don't panic sell.

Yes, it depends on his priority right now. Does the OP need the money or not? Is the price right now higher than his buying price? If yes, and he wants to sell it, then, that's fine. You are already in profit even if it is not the profit that you want. It is only him that can truly answer or decide on this matter. What are his goals for holding his bitcoins? Even if he went thru all these price predictions/speculations, no one can really tell exactly what's gonna happen with bitcoin few days from now or months from now.
1146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin advertising by celebrities. on: January 23, 2021, 10:14:15 PM

That was mostly a cashapp advertisement for sure but it is still a good thing including bitcoin since a simple post could easily influence a lot of people especially if your a celebrity with a lot of followers.

Most of this post are paid by the sponsor to promote in social media, probably a business deals, But most of the celebrities are interested in bitcoin because with a million dollar profit probably a big percentage of there money would just go in a investment like bitcoin or any crypto. But probably only a few celebrities actually know or understand bitcoin as a digital currency.

And only considering that bitcoin is hard to tax, how are they going to disclose how much they are getting paid for such promotion? They can disclose whatever amount they want, right? Because no one knows what btc address they are sending some of their earnings from this promotion.

I'm wondering if they are paid for such posts? We know that bitcoin does not have centralized control and no one is responsible for it, then who pays for the promotion?

Cashapp I guess. Because it seems she is promoting the platform.
1147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS Discussion on: January 23, 2021, 09:03:20 PM
I believe that the EOS this year will overcome the mark of $ 100 for one coin.

To be honest, EOS is a great network. The speed is great. If the developers continue to act in the same rhythm, then EOS will be successful. Yes, EOS is a worthy competitor to Ethereum with its huge fees. But this is only in perspective. Ethereum is megapopular now and is growing every day.

I have experienced with EOS before because I participated before in an EOS-based campaign. And I was in awe that there is no transfer fee from that site to the exchange. And between exchanges, you will only pay very minimal fee, and the speed is really fast as compared to other networks. So yes, if the EOS developers will manage to promote this network as much as they can, and attract projects that will be based on them, they have a good chance to grow in the market. I hope other projects will noticed their features and take it as their advantage. But of course, they are still very far from eth popularity.
1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Grayscale trust update rumor on: January 22, 2021, 10:37:31 PM
https://twitter.com/AcolyteCrypto/status/1352644092472115202?s=19
Just have came across this tweet. Can anyone tell me this is true or just a rumor made by group of people to hype some coin? I can see some shit token is there which makes no sense to be there at all. Can anyone?
Grayscale is a massive fund manager and obviously their investments and interest into digital assets has got huge coverage and many people are very excited about it so definitely there will be people that will try to take advantage of this situation and this tweet seems exactly the same.

Just trust official websites like checking their actual one posted by TimtheYoutuber -

Go to the official website and look yourself

The coins in the tweet are not trusts on Grayscale so it's fake.

If you wanna learn more about trusts and how they work on Grayscale, you can check out my GBTC blog: https://forrestvisions.com/blog/difference-between-gbtc-and-btc/

The list from the twitter is ridiculous. For sure, there are scammers on the loose trying to take advantage of the situation. Because some users will not check the official site and will rely on social media to buy particular coins or tokens.
1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 1inchExchange - DEX aggregator and a single point of entry for DeFi on: January 22, 2021, 10:04:56 PM
Using this exchange often, i like it.

I heard this exchange because of the massive airdrop to its users. But was not a user of this exchange so was not eligible for the airdrop.

Remember this last year?

https://cryptobriefing.com/1inch-airdrops-token-christmas/

They are also listed in binance already. So this project has been in the market for quite a while already. Also, may I know what is the major edge of this exchange over uniswap, as you have experience on this exchange? Thanks.
1150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ETH break it's ATH? on: January 21, 2021, 05:11:00 PM
Of course ETH will break its ATH just as BTC has done so on numerous
occasions in Dec 2020 and Jan 2021.

While there is a lot of investment talk about Bitcoin and what it can
offer against FIAT assets why is ETH pumping?

I mean we have seen delay upon delay with 2.0 updates does this inspire
confidence? I think there is a lot of faith in ETH that is why it is getting
a lot of attention and it shown with the ATH.

There is a lot of faith in eth because we know that they have solid development team headed by Buterin. In my opinion, the assurance that this team will not abandon their eth platform is a big deal for most crypto users. We know at the back of our minds, that this team are continuously working to improve their network. They are still on track with their roadmap though. They beacon chain was live last year and this year, will be the roll-out of phase 2. It is still at the beginning of the year, so don't expect that we can feel the benefits of this second phase. So breaking their previous ATH is really forthcoming.

Today i spin the Wheel and surprise - my first great victory with the wheel of fortune.

-

I would have preferred 5000 Satoshi or 5000 RP, but this is how the competition continues in Round 2 and I am curious if the 5000 tickets bring me luck.

Congrats! However, I came here to check if wheel of fortune is still ongoing? Usually, I received the email from freebitco around this time, but it has been 20 minutes past the usual time that I received the free spin email and nothing yet. Let me see if it is only delayed or will not be receiving anymore the free spin email. Is there max number of free spins for each user?

edit: I still received my free spin in wheel of fortune today, just delayed. And thanks to freebitco for this freebie.  Wink
1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The reason behind the XRP's 2nd wave of hard dump! on: January 01, 2021, 11:47:30 PM
Recently, XRP has been looking like tough days as more and more exchanges are delisting XRP due to these issues. Yup, whether this is only temporary or forever. But what is certain is that this condition will certainly not be good. In addition, the price is getting worse. But here it is different, many XRP holders still hold fast and believe that XRP can get through this, both with the developer or not. what about the XRP community itself?

And the problem here is that XRP followers have no idea what the XRP team is doing right now to rectify this terrible mess they are in. Got a link from their twitter about their official statement regarding this situation. However, they said that they will be addressing this issue in few weeks. Let's see.

1154  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long will go Bitcoin? on: December 18, 2020, 10:29:48 PM
We can see the Bitcoin rally is in a crazy mood. After braking 20K resistance Bitcoin growing up very smoothly.
What do you think? How long will Bitcoin continue this rally?
When will Alts start a bull run?

The simple answer for that is no one knows, many speculated that the pump will continue but those comment given is not accurate and no supporting evidence that it will really happen,  but since we are in good situation right but it's up to you if you listen to the suggestion and speculation given but still the key to earn still in your hands.

And remember, not all alts can keep up with this bullish run. Only those with strong use case as well as actual development will have high chance of going up. But for those crappy ones, I don't think they can follow the performance of the market. As for the question of how long will the bitcoin continue this kind of performance in the market, no one can tell you the exact answer here. We are just spectators here and no one has the magic crystal ball that can give us a definite answer. Just be vigilant with the market and keep up with the news surrounding the crypto community.
1155  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic will bring more economic progress in long-term... on: December 17, 2020, 09:58:30 PM
It can also be said that a pandemic is the world's way of resetting the economy so yes, companies and governments will maximize for future economic progress because this will start with new steps. Whether it's online and offline jobs, there will at least be an update and adjustment in many existing fields, so it is likely that there will be many jobs available which is very much expected after many people have been laid off due to the pandemic.
Governments are already changing the policies related to the employment sector which may look good in the short term but in the long term, they are going to pay more taxes which is good for the government but not really for the taxpayers. So pandemic may increase more productivity by decreasing the salary of their employees and hiring more employees for the same amount which they paid earlier so companies can see more yield but employee will suffer more due to the inflation rate.

I believe they will find a way how to meet halfway in the next coming months. This year is really a very difficult year, not only to one country but to the whole world. This is once in a lifetime experience. And most institutions or companies are not ready for this set-up, so we need to bear with them also as they design their new strategies to cope up with this new normal. And at the same time, we, as individuals, who are still affected by this change, look for options how we can survive in this trial period. Don't rely from our government, as their help is only limited. We need to help ourselves as much as we can.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple (XRP) Breaking out on: December 12, 2020, 09:44:50 PM
I still believe XRP will goes to its all time high and then going above it sometimes in 2021. But now the reason why xrp bullish is people want spark from flare. I also saw they already snapshoot the block. Maybe its time for xrp to goes down before it is spike again. I also gain small ammount of spark.

On the other note, bitcoin is going green, whereas XRP is on the red line again. I believe it is owed to some XRP holders who are selling their coins after the SPARK airdrop snapshot. Some are panic selling before it goes down again. If you are subscribed to telegram channel of some exchanges like binance or kucoin, you will read a lot FUD messages regarding XRP after the snapshot. Some even sold their XRP after 00:01, which the snapshot might not be completed at that moment. So they may not be eligible for airdrop after all.  Tongue Anyway, if the XRP will shove us development updates or will do another run of buyback, people will get their interest again to this coin.
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the most important thing in the development of a project? on: December 12, 2020, 07:46:22 PM
~
These are all nothing if it is a scammy project.
But regardless, I don't think that team should have in-depth knowledge though that would surely be beneficial for the whole project itself.
#2 is situational, though it is true but someone have their own takes of every risk.

Yes, the truth is if the project has the intentions of scamming in the first place, those factors don't matter anymore. But they can weave a good front story so people will be attracted to their seemingly "legit" project. There are some professional scammers who know how to orchestrate a "legit" project to screw naive investors. But if you see that they do have funds and not doing any type of crowdsourcing and deploying their services, then, there's hope that they are sincere with their project.
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understand how cryptocurrency scams work? on: December 11, 2020, 11:10:18 PM
whatever it is about investing, be it projects or coins, it is highly recommended to always research in detail, such as the background of the team & Dev, especially experience in managing previous projects, what products they offer in the market, how big is the community & partners in inside etc. As an investor you need to manage finances properly and also not be greedy in taking profits.
There are actually lots of scam projects since then, there are also lots of people being scammed. That is the reason why we should really take some information about the project first before taking part or supporting that, since your own money is involved, once you've sent it to them and they intended to scam people, you have nothing to do with it. Knowledge and understanding are important before you invest because not all projects are scams. There are some people who really want to take advantage of your ignorance so be aware.

Scam projects will persist as long as there are people patronizing it. I know it is hard to know if the project is really legit or not, especially during its early days, but you need to check for warning signals if you are serious in investing your money to them. I have experienced also with ICO failure before. Even if I searched and read about its background, team member published and endorsed by known user here, still the project failed and lost my money. Couldn't call it as a scam as their platform just didn't have success in the market. But you can't get your money back.
1159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Xrp - Spark snapshot on: December 11, 2020, 07:56:56 PM
Too excited to dump your XRP?  Grin Wake up by this time December 12 2020 at approximately 12 am UTC.

I sure would expect the XRP will drop down to $0.24 less than an hour after the snapshot. Its the reason why XRP spike and why many had tried buying the XRP is all because of it.

I hope they won't change their minds that they will not distribute Flare tokens when XRP isn't inside their wallets anymore or else Spark is a bitch

I have read in several exchanges that you just need to wait for the completion of their snapshot and you're good to go. So it means, you can sell your XRP right after the snapshot is over. And it depends on your exchange, you need to check their announcements before you trade your XRP, or you will not be eligible for SPRK airdrop. I'm following this also as I have XRP in one of the supported exchanges, and planning to sell right after as I have the feeling that it will really go down after this snapshot.
1160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Drop by if you are a PayPal user on: December 10, 2020, 11:14:39 PM
The main reason for blocking by PayPal is using solely the Paypal account for crypto trading. In 2021, the funding will be available for users but currently, only trading is supported. Maybe using amounts higher than $10000 can be one of the first reasons why the account has been restricted by management.
I'm a long time user of PayPal but didn't try to use it yet in trading, I'm not just comfortable yet in doing so since I prefer to use it in paying in some shops and buying in international transactions online. If there is limit for new users it will hinder the adoption they might wanted or better new users of PayPal should read rules to avoid being block, restrictions maybe for new users to avoid using their platform for AML transactions.

Same here. Long-time user here but haven't tried their crypto services yet. And don't have plans to. I will just do my crypto dealings outside PayPal, which is far better than using their platform when you talk about crypto trading. I believe most long-time crypto users will not find it advisable to use their platform when it comes to crypto. But ok, this will be a good introduction to previously noncrypto users of their platform.
