1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google news is spreading FUD on: October 20, 2020, 11:30:30 AM
Let me guess, you're referring to this article? https://cointelegraph.com/news/old-hands-selling-out-metric-shows-bitcoin-price-at-risk-of-hodlers-dumping

Then I'm not sure why you're really blaming Google here. It's not like they're the one who wrote the article, or something like them "sPrEaDiNg fUd To DeStRoY BitCorN". Because surprise surprise, articles like these are the ones that actually gets a lot of clicks, so it's partly our fault as readers.

I agree with you here. Google is not to be blamed here. I thought at first reading the title thread, someone from the camp of Google wrote the article. But came to find out, they have nothing to do with the article. Is he going to blame google for all the negative news articles written towards bitcoin? I guess, this is not fair on their part. It is the reader himself that should filter the news, so many fake news nowadays. As a reader, you need to know how to identify articles based on facts.
1282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fuse.io - Live use cases in 10 countries on: October 19, 2020, 11:53:48 PM
I also can't find any details about these 10 countries. I've been looking at their telegram, web, medium, even reviews on their app on google play, and the closest mention was their partnership with "rupiah stable coin", which means one of the country is Indonesia. One down, nine to go.

Interestingly, for an app that's being used by 10 countries, their app were only downloaded by 1,000+ users. This number is certainly very low if we compare them with the claim of 10 countries. Hopefully that's not just a clickbait
Well lets give it some time before we make such a claim. Hope they will figure their stuff out and let us know all the details. The 1k number is pretty low lets see if it goes up in near future.

And this project is posted by Murat, so somehow he has idea about the scope of this project. But would be nice if the team themselves will be here, at least one rep to enlighten us about the background of their project. And if it already covers about 10 countries, 1k+ installs/users is really low number.

Based from their google app review, the earliest was Feb 2020. So from that time period, I guess the marketing is slow in attracting users to use their wallet.

1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mistake Costs User $1.1 Million in AAVE on: October 19, 2020, 10:32:36 PM
This keeps happening over and over again. A user of the decentralized finance platform AAVE mistakenly sent 28,050 AAVE tokens, worth approximately $1.1 million, to the token's contract address. There are now discussions about possibly restoring the user's funds.

https://decrypt.co/45537/user-loses-1-1-million-in-aave-due-to-mistake?amp=1
As the users and the double check is a must.

I don't think if the discussion will give a result to return the user's money. So many times this things happened. For sending a transaction with big money and we should always be careful with it.
I were always checking the addresses for more than 25 times to make sure I was putting the correct destination addresses. I doubt it the fund will be back again to its user or owner.

I remember last month's tweet of CZ asking the community what to do with the wrong coins sent. But wonder what was his final decision on that one?

https://cryptopotato.com/binance-ceo-asks-the-community-what-to-do-about-someones-20000-bnb-mistake/

We can't really avoid human error in play here. But such huge amount is wasted. If you are dealing with huge amount, try sending small amount first and see if there's no problem with your steps. I do that every time I am not familiar with the coin or token, I start sending small and if it goes thru, it means I am doing it right. Even if I am dealing with few bucks, still not worth to waste your coins for being dumb.  Wink

I am curious, is the winner of Porsche a bitcointalk user? But nevertheless, I now appreciate Dice. One being EOS-based gaming platform. It is my first time to use EOS and upon withdrawal, I am amazed that there's no fee for withdrawal, and pretty fast too. I hope many gamblers will find this feature an advantage to play on their site. Good luck to Dice.one and hope your players will grow.
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My take on DeFi bounties on: October 18, 2020, 11:41:07 PM
Indeed, the fact that the current DeFi trend has made many scammers take advantage of making fake DeFi projects in order to commit fraud.
It is true that if we do the research properly we will definitely find many DeFi projects that are currently releasing scams, so be careful when
choosing DeFi bounties to promote. Do not let us choose the wrong DeFi bounties, then it could put a few weeks of our work promoting DeFi
bounties in vain.

If you look at the scam accusations board in this forum alone, you will find out that a lot of these DeFi projects have existing allegations of plagiarism, fake team and others like running ponzi scheme. Honestly, only few of them have real usage and working platform. Most of them are just copycats of the popular Defis. Definitely, they are just here to grab money from naive buyers. In time, uniswap will be full of dead DeFi tokens.
1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fuse.io - Live use cases in 10 countries on: October 18, 2020, 10:17:22 PM

They are spanish (probably) as they partnered with Wikibank (which is spanish too).
But I don't understand why tokens are selling on uniswap already, while they will have token sale only on September 22? And according info on their site they have 300 mln tokens, but according Etherscan they have 314 mln tokens already.  Huh

Is there a representative from Fuse team that can answer queries here from the community? And clarify about the token sale and the current movement in uniswap. Also, the supply not tallying? If they have live use cases, they have good foundation already. But where are those users coming from?
1287  Economy / Gambling / Re: SkirmishBet: provably-fair turn-based strategy 😳😳😳 Multiplayer soon on: October 17, 2020, 10:15:59 PM
I tried to access the website but it gives me the error - 502 Bad Gateway

The worst thing one can experience on visiting a new casino is getting such errors because very honestly speaking it is hard to play at a casino that goes offline like this without any notice, I cannot find any notice at least here in the forum.

I would definitely try the website once it is up and running so keeping an eye on and a little suggestion for you, when there are downtime expected please make a notice or post in this forum about it so users who have balance won't panic. I am visiting first time so I am not concerned much but someone who has balance would really panic.

Agree with your suggestion. For those who are already playing on their site and have significant amount, this kind of situation is alarming. Getting the 502 error as well. Though it seems that they are just updating their site as they just published the multiplayer mode few days ago, but still simple notice on their thread that they will be down, is a good initiative from their end, unless it is also unexpected situation. But should post something here after they found out that their site is not up. Let's see what this downtime is all about...
1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin investment stage on: October 17, 2020, 12:28:38 PM
If you say that bitcoin's 10k price is like an ICO's pricing stage, then does that mean that bitcoin will crash back down in the long term like how pretty much 99% of altcoins ICOs did? 🧐
-

 Grin

Don't know why he made such comparison in ICO pricing stage? And 10k per coin is actually very expensive if you are talking about ICO price. Won't even think about such logic applied to btc as it has been introduced without collecting money from the community. But it is true that most alts that did have their ICO already crashed their value. And most of them were long dead after few months of trading.

1290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT]✅ P2P Cash | The new way of send money worldwide✅ on: October 17, 2020, 08:06:57 AM
Just see in hotbit and crex24, p2p value decreasing every day, more dump than pump. Looks like the winners of the trading competition are enjoying selling the tokens they have earned.
I hope this such situation will end soon, from 286 satoshi to 65 satoshi in a few days is bad news.

Their price is down now to 17 satoshis. Seems that their updates don't help with other investors to buy more p2p coin. We may be seeing another coin that lost its value in short period of time. The team should inject some of their funds to recover from this dump, or are they willing to spend money from their pockets to recover its value? If they will realize their target plans for this project, earlier than planned, maybe it will improve its image that this is just another alt that will go down the drain.
1291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] YFI CASH on: October 17, 2020, 02:38:28 AM
You published your team members but forgot to put their profile links. Why follow the name of YFI? They don't even have working platform. So don't know what you're going to achieve here. Also, the yficash.org site is not safe to open. Will not open a site if there's warning like this -

1292  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 Pitibet.io ⭐ SPORTS BETTING | WEEKLY PROMOTIONS ⚽🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 on: October 16, 2020, 11:33:25 PM
Hi guys,

I will answer some questions:

- TOS are been updated, it will be done this weekend.
- Yes is a new site, dont expekt to find our site registered in 2010.
- We only accept crypto deposits and withdrawals are 0% comission.
- You get access to the betting platform only with a free registration. Same as many other sites as 5dimes as example.
- Betting platform has the main sports but is more focused to US sports.
- Live Betting for US sports.
- Deposits & withdrawals are manually and instructions are in the welcome email or you can request via LiveChat.
- Deposits & withdrawals with USDT (eth or trx) are accepted.
- Faq questions are in "Support" page.

Thanks for all your opinions, we have added some promotions for this weekend, you can find it our promotions page or follow our twitter account.

I think manual deposit is not very good approach here. I hope you can have an automated system on this aspect. Because it gives the impression that you are not ready for this business. What if you have a lot of players requesting for deposit/withdrawal, and your support can't attend all these transactions? That will create chaos. Anyway, I think that's one major detail you need to address with as most casinos have automated system already.
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Ethpro finance (EPF) token on: October 16, 2020, 10:36:40 PM
I don't think this project is good enough, there isn't much information that we can get from this project, the website only contains basic information without any whitepapers, team and other things. moreover, sales are currently still using google form
I start to think that looks like a donation form to his pocket, directly. Grin I hope no single person doing stupid things like filling his pockets with money. Without those thing that you say above, a project became not worth investing in it.
Sale via google form is not a good thing, it's just a scammer trick because the trend now is to do IEO on exchanges.

Very weak strategy to collect funds. But there are so many naive users out there, they buy defi tokens  without digging much its background hoping to get quick gains. Though their supply is very low, but what would be their main objective here? To get small amount of money and disappear? The probability of happening such kind of situation is very high. Be vigilant and stay away from potential scam projects!
1294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: All most 75 exchanges and tradings have been dead in 2020 on: October 16, 2020, 09:10:50 PM
I have not heard about almost any of these exchanges but I heard about Hotbit for sure and though I never used it but I am quite sure it was quite popular among traders and I don't know the full story but feels sad if they actually scammed.

I always wonder why there are so many exchanges when there are trusted exchanges like Binance because really why would one want to trade on a new platform knowing that it might turn scam anytime and unless you are getting huge benefits as compared to a trusted exchange there is no reason to experiment with your money. Maybe just like different people shop on different e-commerce platforms similarly people do with crypto exchanges.

What I am wondering is they are still up and operating?

I found this medium article, and explained how hotbit scammed its users.
https://medium.com/@hotbitvictims/how-hotbit-exchange-scammed-its-users-bc07c518b42d

The problem with other traders, they are going to small-medium crypto exchanges because usually their rates are higher than the regular market price. And because they are attracted with possible profit, they don't know that it is just a trap to get their funds and most of the time there's no volume. So how can they trade if there's no liquidity? So it is really advisable to trust the top exchanges, at least you know that you can exchange your coins as soon as you want it to, not waiting for days just to go thru your order.
1295  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 Pitibet.io ⭐ SPORTS BETTING | WEEKLY PROMOTIONS ⚽🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 on: October 15, 2020, 09:32:41 PM
As long as you are open to suggestions and not screwing any players, the gambling license can wait. Anyway, a lot of gambling sites here didn't have their license when they started. And once they got good traffic, they applied for license. But you should be fast in resolving any issues coming from players. Active support is highly recommended to gain players on your site. If they know you are fast in resolving complaints, you will gain loyal supporters in time. Good luck  and welcome to the forum!
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 🔥 YFSWAP.FINANCE 🔥 FIRST DeFi Version OF BITCOIN & ETHEREUM on: October 15, 2020, 11:25:42 AM
Won't trust a project employing newbies to hype up the project. This is already known cheap strategy to gain attention from the community, but people are smarter now. They already know the face of potential scam or crap project. Even if they try harder to gain attention, you will see if the older members will be interested if you will see serious questions towards the project.
1297  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic: good for the bitcoin market or bad? on: October 14, 2020, 09:40:33 PM
~
Vaccine's are in trials and many potential to be released by quarter 4 of this year or in 2021 so provably it's best to invest on government stock bonds while the value is cheap since once all will comeback to normal the price of all stocks will rise and by that we will be lucky to buy them up when the price is so cheap. Although it's facing a recession by now still it's good to observe and act according to the current happenings.

-

This is the WHO present data regarding the vaccine development. We have not heard about positive results and we have no idea when the vaccine will get approved for general use and when it can be produced on a global scale. It will take a very long time to get the clinical trials successful and then after extensive test you could get the approval and it will take years.

But even with this "slow" development in vaccine, I believe we will be seeing commercial covid vaccine by next year. Right now, if you want to invest, you need to assess of course your current financial situation. Can you afford to invest in a volatile market? How far can you go in investing in crypto?

But even with pandemic, bitcoin didn't plunge much and now we are more than $11k. So I guess, the pandemic is more on the positive impact in crypto. More adoption I believe. As there are newcomers in crypto owed to the fact that people are looking for alternative payments or options for their investment funds.
1298  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Fake 5000 ETH Giveaway on: October 13, 2020, 11:19:42 PM
I hope no one will send eth on this address. A very common strategy to rip off naive users from the internet. More than likely, the figures on their website are just as fake as their giveaway. If they are not hiding anything, they should make those addresses (top competitors) clickable on their site but nope. So they are just manipulating the numbers here.
1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s next for Libra? on: October 13, 2020, 08:55:42 PM
There is a serious obstacle to launching Libra in the form of the US securities Commission. They don't want crypto projects to replace banks. That is why they are fined and not allowed to implement such projects. Mark Zuckerberg has serious connections in the us Congress, he may be able to overcome all the obstacles, but this will not be done quickly.

zuckerberg will not be able to reach agreement with the congressmen
the influence of large American banks there is much stronger than the influence of Facebook
bankers do not want to give Facebook a powerful leverage
which, according to preliminary estimates, could be $ 5-10 billion in the first few years
bankers will not want to lose their influence, so Libra is doomed to failure.

Don't think that Libra is already doomed. Who knows, Zuckerberg is looking for another country to host his project? Don't think that Zuck is giving up easily on his project. He has all the means to move things and right now, we don't know what he's doing behind this stagnant project of his. Something is still happening on their Libra project. Though not creating big news but there are things on the works.

1300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor on: October 13, 2020, 04:04:32 AM
McGregor should focus on his career and not in boxing. Boxing is not his game and he even wants to challenge the best boxer in the world? How he think he could win?

I think he is only after the money. No chance that he can knock down Manny and beat him. However, if he really has the intention to win in this match then he shoul be making physical conditioning as early as possible to catch up with Manny in terms physical abilities.

Do you remember the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor fight of 2017? McGregor reportedly received $130 million for the fight. That is almost $4 million for every minute of the fight. So what do you think? Are you saying that McGregor should have refused this opportunity, saying that he is not interested in boxing? Boxing and MMA are just professions. In the end, money matters a lot.

Let me just add to this:

As much as we hated the Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao fight, we cannot deny the fact that both of them made hundreds of millions of dollars in that match alone. At the end of the day, it really boils down to the business discussed between the fighters. All of their gimmicks and rivalries are part of their campaign in order to hype the fight and gather as much audience as possible to increase their winnings.

Still, a fight between McGregor and Pacquiao may sound ridiculous at first but let us all be honest that we will still be looking forward to see them fighting on the ring. I hope this fight materializes in the near future and see the people's champ back at the ring again!

Boxing is really a money-making business. And the decision of the fighters is greatly influenced by their respective promoters. Even if the boxer has a cause in his mind, still it depends on his promoter. But of course when it comes to actual fight, we want these boxers fight toe-to-toe but when they become too technical like Mayweather, we feel that we are being cheated. And this match - Pacquiao vs. McGregor will gonna push thru if there are already whales behind this fight.
