1101  Economy / Speculation / Re: next Bitcoin price correction WHEN? on: February 21, 2021, 11:58:52 PM
The  price was correcting from Jan start to 27th Feb and then we've broken up since then.  Right now there is no real clue to any weakness in the price especially with bullish news such as Canada ETF for Bitcoin starting.    Of course actual usage of BTC counts more but for now there is plenty of speculation and buying to fuel the prices and bullish perception.

There's no one who can predict the exact time period when the correction will occur. One can only make a prediction but it doesn't mean, it will come true. So this kind of question is very subjective and you will only receive so much speculations here. Even you apply all the TAs that you know of, still it is not a guarantee that you can get an accurate market price. There are so many factors involve in crypto, so you can't just pinpoint one major factor that will influence the price in the market.
1102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Another Twitte for DOGE COIN on: February 21, 2021, 11:35:03 PM
If the price pumps again, I think we can attribute it to pump and dump groups and not just because Musk tweet about Doge again. Again, it's pretty obvious now that he is just shilling for Doge, and then this pump and dump group starts to work and FOMO again. Very risky for young investors, as they might lose money because of this fraudulent practice. But this is open market, Musk tweet-> p&d group->FOMO->make money, rinse and repeat.

These pump groups are capitalizing with the tweets from Musk. So be careful jumping on this hype. It is good to see the doge price increase in slow motion rather than having steep climb. Steep climb is very risky if you are aiming short term profits. That may end up badly in your financial aspect. The last part that you said above is somehow true. That's how pnd scheme is. Good thing, doge will not hit rock bottom because it is an old established coin with use case in gambling and as transfer purposes.
1103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think the price of BNB will go above $ 300? on: February 21, 2021, 09:27:03 PM
The way its price is increasing at the present time, many people think that its price will go above $ 300. Do you think so?

I'd love to think that price soon, meanwhile everything happens for a good reason just like what other coins do this year. It really needs more patience to achieve all goals that we set on our holdings. Binance is getting more into fame, that's always possible for this coin to become one of the interesting asset to invest.
now BNB has reached the third rank in the CMC list and of course this is quite an amazing thing that continues to happen in 2021, in 2021 there are many positive trends that occur, namely eth reaching its ATH, Dogecoin which has increased by more than 500% and now BNB in a fairly positive trend so it is possible to be able to pass the $ 300 price in the near future, it seems there is still a chance to be able to get profit by buying BNB now in the market.

$300 is easy peasy for BNB. What they achieved now being #3 in CMC is quite fast. They keep their innovations always on the go, and venturing on projects that may strengthen their position in the market. No wonder people are coming into this platform. Even if we say the Binance Smart Chain is centralized, but the fees right now is very economical for crypto users. So they go to this platform. We can't blame people because they want to save fees. Now, next target would be $500. And in time, if BNB will continue to tap new projects and maintain their status being the top exchange, increasing its value is not a problem.
1104  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you have a Bitcoin exit strategy? on: February 21, 2021, 08:27:35 PM
Not really. My simple strategy is as follows:

1. Only sell bitcoin when totally necessary.
2. Continue to not spend money on unnecessary stuff.
3. Continue to focus on creating more cash flow to have more money to invest in assets.
4. Continue dollar-cost averaging weekly regardless of BTC price.
5. Price crash? Continue holding as per usual.
6. Only trade shitcoins with less than 5% of my total holdings.

Unless you're really experienced in the field of trading, chances are, doing the "sell now and buy back lower" strategy is just going to wreck you in the end.

Those strategies you mentioned above actually are more than enough not to get screwed in this market. Right now, exit strategy is hard to execute as bitcoin is going up and reaching new ATH almost everyday. As we are more than 58k as we speak, people or institutions are still buying. But remember, correction is just around and you need to be ready if you have short term plans for your bitcoin. I understand that some people here need to cash out because of their financial needs. So if you are looking short term here, and you are already in good profit, you can cash out if you are comfortable with it.
1105  Economy / Speculation / Re: $80k within 6 weeks, new ATH October 2021 on: February 20, 2021, 10:38:26 PM
~snip~

I have this thinking about this thread, and of course according to the little I have learned, the market at the moment is going through a moment in which thanks to important characters it has caused a great pump or bullish trend, and it is very easy to determine it, for me What is happening is that the market is currently influenced by emotions, and emotions move the market, that explains the massive purchases, apart from the institutions that are doing it, at the same time there must be many who are selling.

There are already many who are waiting for it to reach $ 100k to sell, I mean, the expectation is very great, and this is given to the emotions that are on the surface.

I think the market is influenced more on the institutions or companies that are now showing their interest to venture in crypto by accepting crypto as their payment system or by buying bulk number of BTCs in the market. So this is the real deal here, I believe a lot of merchants are now accepting that volatility will always be there, so it is how they will manage their crypto here to avoid their losses that they are talking about. But right now, from the looks of it, 80k is very possible to happen this year.
1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will Binance be the next Ethereum? on: February 20, 2021, 09:42:08 PM
In fact the possibility is real binance is gaining more and more value and interest but I believe that this happens mainly only for the high fees on the eth blockchain, if this trend does not reverse soon bnb could take the place of eth in the top positions of the rankings

That is, if eth network will not resolve their high gas fees. But there is news that eth devs will release their berlin hard fork this april 14

https://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-core-developers-mid-april-berlin-hard-fork

So from the above article, it mentions about the optimization of gas efficiencies.Which means, maybe we will finally see the reduction of gas fees. So we still need to wait about a couple of months before we see such development in eth network.
1107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Apple is buying Bitcoin on: February 19, 2021, 11:54:11 PM
News are coming that Apple is going to buy cryptocurrency.

Apple can surge another 25% by adding cryptocurrency services to its Wallet app, RBC says :
https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/apple-can-surge-another-25-by-adding-cryptocurrency-services-to-its-wallet-app-rbc-says/articleshow/80757342.cms
2021 is indeed a shocking year for cryptocurrencies, before Tesla entered and invested in Bitcoin,
and now Apple will also invest in bitcoin, it's amazing to see fomo keep happening, just like 2017,
after fomo there will be terrible fud , be careful.

If more top companies will be investing in bitcoin, some of these small companies will follow thru. And that will give a good foundation for the price of bitcoin. It may correct, but will not be that hard. But for those who will buy now and very fresh in crypto, be very careful as your small funds may increase or decrease in a very short period of time. Ask yourself, what is your goal in going into crypto? Long term or short term? Because if it is short term, would be hard to attain your targets, unless you are not aiming for high profits.
1108  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning is better than Following on: February 19, 2021, 08:48:38 PM
Search up everything from basic and later on proceed with advanced trading system and as mentioned above where you shouldn't only focus out on technicals but also with fundamentals as well.

This will take time and involved lots of trial and  error because trading isn't a thing that you can learn overnight. Pure experience from pure engagement is really much more better than following.

Try to take grasp on everything and understand on what you are doing.Market volatility is one of the main issue this is why emotion and decision making skills or handling will really be crucial.

Indeed! Learning on your own is like having your own weapon in a battle. You are not waiting for someone to defend you in this battle. Even if you start from the ground, actually it is much better, as you will encounter lessons that you can't read from trading books especially if you are into crypto trading. There are so many unwritten rules here, where you can only understand once you are doing your own trading. Start small as everyone is entitled to make mistakes. You can't gain your trading knowledge in your first day, so expect that you will have losses. Actually, even when you are already trading, there will still be losses but at that time, you know how to stop your losses.
1109  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria led global crypto adoption in 2020 on: February 18, 2021, 11:26:25 PM
I wouldn't say that Nigeria led global adoption for crypto, definitely not. There are more significant factors at play here. The reason why Nigeria even used crypto is because their own currency is dwindling to its own death. They are forced to use crypto in order to survive, at this point. Almost the same goes to Vietnam.

You wanna talk about crypto adaption? Tesla soon potentially accepting crypto would count as crypto adaption. All the 7213 companies who are "impressed" by the current bull run accepting crypto out of nowhere would maybe count as crypto adaption. Nigeria sure is helping towards the overall global widespread but lets be honest; the current state of Nigerian economy with or without crypto is an absolute joke.

Crypto adaption is all based on the impact caused. And tell me how many people talk about Vietnam and Nigerian locals using crypto in contrast to Elon musk's dumb Dogecoin memes on twitter?

I am taking the pessimist route because that is sadly the situation we are all living in.

I think sometimes graphs are not giving all the factors of their consideration here. As they only based on specific number of respondents, you can't tell if they got the overall sentiments of the citizens of each country. So we don't know how many people they got the info from vs the total population of that country. But maybe, just treat this as just one reference but not the absolute sentiments around the globe, because that is highly unlikely.

And another stat company can do the same profiling but different number of persons involved or different factors in play, and they can come up with totally different bar graphs here.
1110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Altcoin Safe for Investment on: February 17, 2021, 11:18:59 PM
Some altcoins is safe and some are not. It is still important to have knowledge in investin rather than having a prediction or following false signals. It is sometimes risky to invest with top altcoins but it is safe speccially for some newbies like me.
not "sometimes" but "always" have a risk. everyone know it. we should learn about crypto and investment first. also we should know the risk and accept the consequences. you must now the right time to buy and sell it. saving altcoins as your investment isn't bad. it's actually safe if you find a good one. we just have to be careful with the fluctuation of their price in a short time.

And that entails personal assessment of those alts that you want to buy. Don't rely from others' suggestions as they may be endorsing it because they are holders of that alt. You need to evaluate their value in the market or use case that they are offering. Because if there's nothing in it, more than likely, its lifespan will be short. Once the dev got tired of manipulating its price in the market, it will be abandoned easily. So better look for alts that have active app in the community and at least a established market. It is very risky to put your hard-earned money to unknown future.
1111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🧧 NOBI - Lucky Angpao 10,000 HNST 🧧 on: February 16, 2021, 10:16:25 PM
I never heard about nobi before - is it a wallet or something? The project is similar to Chinese or Asian. KYC registration is unanonymous crypto?

From their app, it says it offers like bank services. So it is like your crypto bank account.

But reading some of the reviews, some are saying the fees are too high. And remember, you need to submit KYC. If it is okay with you to submit your KYC docs, then that's fine. And from their current promo, you can only get the pool prize if you win. Your choice if you want to submit or not your entry.
1112  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC HIT $50000🎯 on: February 16, 2021, 01:41:51 PM
Those who found a $ 100k dream a few years ago will probably understand what an opportunity they missed when they admit that we are now half of the $ 100k.With developments such as Elon Musk, PayPal, MasterCard, and corporate purchases, we reached these levels directly. Here we have to thank the whole industry. All investors who do not lose faith, even at the $ 300 price, can enjoy the value today. Cheesy

Not many people had that faith in bitcoin few years ago. Especially when they experienced the downward movement after the 20k ATH in 2017. But right now, a lot of known companies are trying to join this revolution. They are seeing now the viability of crypto in the payment sector, in which, this has been highlighted owed to the pandemic. So maybe, thanks to this crisis, a lot of people are now opening up to the usage of crypto, not only as payment option but as well as investment options.

1114  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are subtle red flags at a job interview that say "working here would suck"? on: February 01, 2021, 10:21:17 PM
Last job I worked.

"Yea, everyone here is new, but it's totally because of covid"

"The boss doesn't like people going out to get lunch because they're afraid you'll never come back, so being your own lunch"

"You'll get weird looks if you leave on time". It was a chinese owned company with heavy chinese work culture influence so you were expected to stay overtime all week.

Also "the people here are nice but it's pretty stressful".

Eta: also was told by my trainer "you want to know the best advice I can give you? Find another job". This was like...my 2nd week in.
6.0k
My wife lived in Japan for a few years and worked at an educational center. Her work hours were from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. She was the only non-japanese person that worked there. Her first few weeks she worked until 8:30 p.m. because she noticed that when she got to leave at 5:00, nobody else budged and that everyone else worked much much later. She clarified with the recruiter that got her the job that she is not obligated to stay any later than 5:00 even if everyone else is staying later. She would get up and leave and everyone would give her dirty looks as she walked out. Asian work culture is toxic

I noticed the same thing when I worked in an Asian country. My coworkers all looked at me like I was removing my pants whenever I left at exactly 5pm. It never occured to me to care, I just felt sorry for them.

Yes, that's Asian culture. And I think, that's one thing that needs to be changed. Even if you stay as late as you can, you can never finish all the works. And you are just skipping some important family time at home by doing that. I really like the Western work ethics. I believe we need more of this practice so we are not too stressed with our work once we get at home.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: e-gold founder Douglas Jackson: His view on Bitcoin in 10 years on: January 31, 2021, 11:05:10 PM
Most likely an attempt to use Bitcoin and gain traffic. Some people give very pessimistic views or highly optimistic ones to make media headlines and draw attention to their projects. Some others simply try and loosely link their projects to bitcoin to achieve the same result.

Everyone could have an opinion on Bitcoin and a choice to hold it or not based on their opinion. Do not base your choice on the opinion of others (i.e, do not fall for FUD or FOMO).

Trying to make a wave in the market about his opinion but guess what, he is not Elon Musk.  Tongue Most individuals are giving their own opinion hoping that it may create an impact in the market. We have seen these many times already. Most of them have ulterior motives, and basically they have selfish objectives. They are just like ordinary people giving their prediction for what may happen with bitcoin 5 or 10 years from now. So nothing special I believe when it comes to their opinion.
1116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why Does Every Exchange Need To Have Its Own Token? on: January 31, 2021, 09:39:56 PM
This token will represent their identity at the same time will help them in operation of their business or as a form of gift or voucher that can be use in their platform. Sometimes I just use it to park some of my crypto since their value is not volatile unlike others, well it's still depend on what exchange. Having it's token is like being part of their company where we have our right to have discount or to atleast earn from them.

Aside from having their own identity, the bottomline is of course the profit that they can generate from their own token. Although, some are saying that using their token will reduce fees and such, it is also part of marketing their own token. Creating is free but if traders will use it, and patronize it, it will have value in the market. So bottomline, added source of income also for the exchange platform itself. They are enticing traders to use their own token for discounts and others and at the same time, they are also generating income from this asset.
1117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon fuels BTC rise 17% DOGE gose 8× on: January 31, 2021, 11:20:22 AM
It goes with the name and everything attach to him, Elon Musk is a man with a Midas Touch, just see what his tweet can do to the market, I just hope he will not do what McAfee promoting shitcoin to the community, Elon Musk should just concentrate on the top and proven coins in the market, there will be developers that will come to him to promote their project, he should reject these people and don't let them tarnish his reputation.

I think Elon Musk is more careful than McAfee because McAfee is mostly after the money that he will get in promoting the project. Remember those days that projects were happy to attach the name of McAfee in their platform. Wonder how much they paid him just to endorsed and used his name. Whereas, with Elon, he doesn't need payment just to say something about crypto or any other currency. He is doing it for the sake of what he feels at the moment. So no strings attached so to speak. That's why people are following him because they know he doesn't need any more money just to say something to a project.
1118  Economy / Economics / Re: What We Should Learn From Elon Musk Influence on: January 30, 2021, 11:06:19 PM
I truly appreciate his characteristic of being dedicated, driven man. He is exceptionally open in each plausibility and better approach that's why he is the primary head honcho that I respect and the primary one who made a monster impact among other. In fair a tweet he made a coin pump so exceptionally much indeed that tweet is fair a joke it made the showcase and individuals went insane. I truly admire him since of he is into innovation exceptionally well, he begins from nothing and he change the world and can own what he want.

He is an open-minded person. He knows that everything has a chance to grow in any market. Unlike, Buffett, he closed himself to crypto as he doesn't believe in it. This is why Elon is liked by many people. He is open to new advancements around him and doesn't treat a new technology as nothing. He already earned great respect from the community so whatever he tweeted or say to the media, people are buying it. After all, he will not reach his status today if he has no good disposition in life.
1119  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTCs sudden rocket on: January 30, 2021, 10:21:21 PM
I gotta admit that was a crazy ride with BTC and Elon Musk, I just realized how big on an influence is Elon Musk. Now Jack Dorsey did the same but did not affect BTC much, I still remember when he tweeted a doge meme before and made the coin soar up to 600% in less than a day!

Shares of fast-growing Polish game developer CD Projekt soared 16% on thursday as well after Musk tweeted: "The esthetics of Cyberpunk are incredible btw ....". Cyberpunk is the company's flagship game btw.

even smaller cryptocurrencies like ETH and XRP that tend to move in tandem with bitcoin also jumped, as much as 5 per cent and 8 per cent respectively.

With this scenario, we can say that a popular individual can really have an impact in crypto market. People still follow the what they are saying, even a simple tweet or statement from them can influence the market. It also translates the fact that decision of people can easily  be affected by an influential person, whether he is saying it in negative or positive way. Crypto users should be careful riding the hype once the market have sudden changes because of a specific person is tweeting something.
1120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Stable coin is the Best for Investment This Year on: January 29, 2021, 10:52:45 PM
Personally i used that of Binance exchnage stablecoin becasue of it reliability. These stablecoins are those that i see that can hold onto dollar(1 stablecoin = 1$ at any circumstances) when there is dip with other cryptocurrencies. USDT should have be my most wanted stable coins but becasue of their stories behind it existence made me rethink BUDS will be more good for investment.

USDT has the reputation couple of years ago about not having fully backed by US$ assets, which they are pegged to. This is the reason why a lot of crypto users are not totally trusting this platform. We don't know if they are now saying the ultimate truth about their assets. But on the note about investing in stable coin, the user should bear in mind that investing on this type of coin will not give him profit as it is designed to be stable in price. So your $1 for example will still be $1 after a year.
