2. Worst Hardware Wallet Ledger, they have breached privacy and security for the use of their wallet.
They are close source, have data breaches but I am not sure that Ledger is a worst hardware wallet.

And known to lying that private key can't be extracted from their device[1]. But i agree it's not the worst when BitFi exist where it got hacked many times even though it claims to be "unhackable"[2].

[2] https://www.tomshardware.com/news/mcafee-bitfi-cryptocurrency-wallet-hacked,37736.html
I agree.

Ledger is bad with their past bad record but to say they are the worst, I disagree.

We tend to exaggerate things to satisfy our thinking and do like saying too good or too bad about a thing we like or dislike. However the fact is somewhere in between good and too good or bad and too bad.

You introduced books of other people (authors), not your books.

There are some topics about books.

Obviously, you should choose an open source hardware wallet to use. It is good if it has good record in privacy and security.

Ledger, months ago in 2023, launched their new product, Ledger Recovery Service, that breaks fundamentals of hardware wallet. They split mnemonic seed to three parts that are stored by three different entities and it means you are not the only entity to own seed words.

Read this thread if you want to know and understand more about that bad service.
Ledger Recovery - Send your (encrypted) recovery phrase to 3rd parties entities.

345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Personal Computer Mined How Many Bitcoin Per Day In 2009? 100? 250? 1700? on: February 05, 2024, 03:45:13 PM
Although the OP asked an interesting question, it is also very interesting to me that during the first 4 years as much as 50% of all Bitcoins were mined, and of that as much as 2.625 million in the first year.

Therefore, we can conclude that the first users were really privileged in some way, because not only could they mine with their personal computers, but they also had the opportunity to mine blocks with the highest rewards. It was, without any doubt, perhaps the most interesting time in the short history of Bitcoin, and the most fruitful period in someone's life if by any chance he saved the mined BTC for the future.
I learned from bitcointalk by senior members that if you want to take profit, take profit like 90% of what you have and reserve 10% for something you even don't imagine will happen. It is like a lottery ticket and no risk because you already take profit includes your initial capital.

So it's worth to make a bet with 10% rest for something that can change your life. If it won't happen, you won't lose anything. In contrast, if you take profit with 100% coins you have, you will no longer have a life-changing ticket. I very agree with this advice and glad to learn it here.

Below strategy from JayJuanGee and bitmover is different but it's good one too.
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: compressed and uncompressed addresses on: February 05, 2024, 02:36:27 AM

Uncompressed public keys: Prefix 0x04
Compressed public keys: Prefix 0x02 or 0x03

Quote
When Bitcoin was first authored, its developers only knew how to create 65-byte public keys. However, a later developer became aware of an alternative encoding for public keys that used only 33 bytes and which was backward compatible with all Bitcoin full nodes at the time, so there was no need to change the Bitcoin protocol.

Those 33-byte public keys are known as compressed public keys, and the original 65-byte keys are known as uncompressed public keys.

I've made almost a hundred posts and yet I have only few merit, what am I doing wrong? Are my posts not quality enough?
Generally, you must make good posts (with good quality or shows that you put your efforts in it to contribute something interesting in the community), and you need another condition which is some members will read your post and have sendable merit to give it to you. Sometimes, readers see your post is good but they don't have sendable merit at that moment and they will move on. Very few members will bookmark your post and return later to merit it, they are likely merit sources.

Quote
If yes, please I need corrections and guidelines to grow my account. I truly need words of encouragement and affirmation that am on the right track to enable me step up in the game and I also need you guys to help me point out some of my posts that aren't so good, if there are any, so I can learn from my mistakes and do better.
I don't know what you did in past few months but if you actually spent your time to learn, you will see some pinned threads in Beginners & Help board which is a board you posted this thread.

I believe if you read those pinned threads, you will find answers there. So if you have yet read them, now it's time for reading.

You should reply all the question in a single post. You can use the “quote” button if you want to include the message that you want to reply on your post. You can do this to reply to all message using one message.

It’s not allowed to make a post consecutively in a single thread with same user because it can be considered as post bumping. You might get punish by the mods once they saw the way you reply on your thread. You should familiarize yourself on the forum rules https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 to avoid punishment. Goodluck
Good reminder!

OP must know about forum rules, first some rules for his replies in a row.

13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours per thread. Bumping multiple threads at the same time is allowed if it's not annoying. [2][e]

21. Old bumps should be deleted. [2]

32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.
To avoid this, OP can reply to some users in only one post, like you recommended.

If OP have yet known, he can use this format for reply. Different quoted posts and corresponding replies will be separated by horizontal lines.

There is good news for AC Milan about their player Ismaël Bennacer. After playing for his national team, he was injured a bit and he couldn't play for AC Milan in the game they had against Bologna which made the fans worried about this player but Ismaël Bennacer started training with the team and he is ready to play for AC Milan in the game they have against Frosinone in the next week.

He recovered and likely is ready for the match but with a player who just recovered from an injury, it's not wisely to use him in a debut squad. If there is no emergent situation in the match, AC Milan will not send Bennacer in. They will try to wait for good time to give him some minutes on field and help him to slowly come back. It's better for him, to avoid another injury and to adapt to real match intensity which is certainly different than training, and second for AC Milan because they will have a good player for rest of season.

Not only are there problems in the defense line, but overall AC Milan's performance has been inconsistent this season so they often lose points and in my opinion this is not only the fault of the defense line, but the team's performance is not well organized in all areas.
AC Milan now is like in the middle of Scudetto race and top four race. They are far from first two clubs and also far from the fourth club and under ones. They probably feel like hopelessly to catch Inter Milan and Juventus while can feel safely against under clubs.

Definitely they must look at their defense and improve it if don't want nightmare to come just because of bad defense system.
350  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: February 03, 2024, 03:56:28 PM
There’s also limited information regarding $SHFL tokens so it will be too early to conclude the airdrop while the website is not yet ready for the token implementation. I hope that they will start updating first the website with token implementation feature before they snapshot and distribute airdrop so that there will be the hype first before the actual distribution for a better price speculation.
With experience in cryptocurrency market, I believe we know roadmaps can be changed by the team and similar to airdrop. Changes are necessary for the team to build up their products and find a good time in the market, mostly bullish time, to launch their new products, bounties or airdrops.

I don't know what's going on with Shuffle team and their progress for $SHFL token airdrop to Shuffle users but I don't feel negatively with their delay. Plans must be executed as best as possible and we can see Ethereum with delay to delay for Ethereum blockchain upgrade but it is still a solid second biggest cryptocurrency.

Maybe the Shuffle team are adjusting their initial plan with a new one that surely better in their view. Stay tuned for good news from Shuffle team!
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asian Cup 2023 Prediction and Discussion on: February 03, 2024, 02:33:18 PM
Oh, God! Iran sent Japan home in the minute of injury time after the goal scored from the penalty spot by Jahanbakhsh went into the net. I still can't believe that Japan, which is so strong and even the highest candidate to win the ASIAN Cup this year, had to be eliminated before the semifinals and this is a very disappointing result for the fans. Looking at the game between the two teams, it is clear that it is very balanced and here Iran has a winning mentality that is capable of overthrowing Japan.
Japan is a strongest national team in Asia and has highest ranking as well as very excellent form but it is before this Asian Cup. They started to show problems in the group stage by a first match against Vietnam, then lost to Iraq. They likely have systematic problem and in the quarter final match against Iran, Japan actually let Iran created so many opportunities in the second half.

It is bad for lost at very last minute of injury time but in general, Japan deserved to lose in the second half because Iran played better.

Quote
It's a shame that we won't see Japan in the final and it looks like something undesirable could happen in football. Iran proved they were not afraid at all when facing Japan and they continued to attack until finally they had to be fouled in the penalty box.
Now we will move from a predictive final match between Japan vs South Korea to Iran vs South Korea.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL bitcoins, you can do it! Look at HODL camp map to build up strong hands on: February 03, 2024, 01:58:17 PM
When we hold Bitcoin in real life, we see that it has both advantages and disadvantages. If we look closely, owning Bitcoin for a long time can provide possible rewards.

One of these advantages is that it provides high profits and inflation protection, but it also involves large risks due to volatility, regulatory uncertainty, and security issues. Before making any investing decisions, think about your risk tolerance, financial objectives, and understanding of the bitcoin market.
Volatility is only a big concern if you plan to hold bitcoin in short term. If you hold it long term, like about 5 years, volatility is not your concern because price is strongly upward.

ROI chart shows this fact https://casebitcoin.com/charts#roi_chart
Choose different time frame like 1 year, Year to date, 2 years, 3 years, 5 years and see different ROIs. With 5-year ROI chart, I am sure you will see no concern with Bitcoin volatility in short term.

1 - how do you intend to make the price of your token increase and how would your strategy be different from the strategy that other casino tokens have adopted?

2 - what short and long-term plans do you have in relation to listing your casino token on major exchanges? looking here:

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/weft-finance

I see that your casino token is listed on only two exchanges. Since we are talking about tokens, something that deals with investments, can you tell us what experience you have had in this field of tokens and investments?
I see trading volume is very low and the token needs bigger trading volume, more demand to grow in price.

But before price grows, the team must build up value for the token and I have similar thinking like you. I am curious to know what are their plans for the token, how will they build up token value?

It will be built up together with their platform and if the platform grows well, the team have solid strategy for the token's use cases and utility, I believe its value will grow naturally.

WEISS site has been operating for nearly one year at the moment. Thanks one more time for your suggestions; we will take them into account, but currently, our light theme is our branding!
First you should make a Bitcoin transaction to buy the Copper membership, then activate it. The copper membership will help your account is able to post images. It will help to display graphics for your announcement post and in other posts later.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Spot ETF Tracker on: February 02, 2024, 03:07:52 PM
Yes it’s nice seeing the GBTC flows decline and for us to have positive flows for the rest of the etfs.

I think since we seem to be having more small bank issues like we did back in March 2023, we might see bitcoin get even more flows as more small and medium banks get seized by fdic. Seems that since the BTFP is ending that there will be more pain in the banking sectors.

People will no longer feel safe keeping their money in banks and will search for a better alternative such as bitcoin.
  • Despite of selling pressure from Grayscale, the trend is positively up and I believe it will be very greenish in coming months.
  • Total Bitcoin bought and hold by those Bitcoin Spot ETFs, excludes Grayscale, will surpass MicroStrategy holding soon. They are going to achieve it after only 2 weeks of accumulation.
  • My thinking is I don't care about what they are doing behind the scene but with their accumulation, they will hold those bitcoins (on behalf of customers obviously) and will contribute to reduce circulating supply on exchanges.
355  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: February 01, 2024, 03:53:29 PM
Hi iv4n - yes, the lack of welcome bonus/no deposit bonus is certainly something we have considered. Reality is, with our focus on web3 and the frictionless wallet signup, any deposit/welcome bonus would be abused immediately - this would then force us to work with wagering requirements, withdrawal restrictions, account bans or similar to manage the impact. All things which we believe do not contribute to a great experience for most players.
Abuse and cheat will cause many problems for the business because cheaters will not let the casino peaceful time if they fail with their cheats. They will try to create many invalid attacks on the casino that will be not good. People sometimes can not differentiate between valid and invalid accusations.

In another scenario, if they succeed with cheating, they will cause some harm against the casino. Again, it is not good for the business.

I support your team decision to not run bonus because of your platform infrastructure.

Instead we focus on providing the best web3 experience, along with monthly tournaments, daily reel races and free-to-enter competitions that directly reward loyal players.
You can consider to run Bitcoin price prediction contest and some contests relate to available games on Metawin.

This is just a game that results in losses and wins and there are also draws.
Thank you Liverpool for giving all the fans the most beautiful victory. The roar of the Anfield stadium was quite resounding yesterday during the opening and closing goals.
Liverpool played better than Chelsea and they deserved this winning but this match was opened by a missing penalty for Chelsea. Liverpool winning would be more convincing if the match does not have that moment which causes a lot of discussion after the final whistle.

I as a neutral fan, see that even Chelsea score a goal from penalty, they will still be dominated by Liverpool and at the end will get a loss. But of course, the match would be more exciting if Chelsea score first.

Quote
Nunez's unlucky action was covered by the good performance of Conor Bradley who provided two assists and 1 goal.
He is both unlucky and not skillful enough to make accurate shot. He must improve his finishing accuracy through training and do like Cristiano Ronaldo did. Stay at the field when other team mates go to dress rooms, just to do his own training, shot and shot, to shot more accurately.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / JP Morgan Chase are participating in 5 categories of cryptocurrency. Jamie lies! on: February 01, 2024, 05:54:29 AM

The table screenshot is taken from Bitwise's Crypto Market Review Q4 2023. You can click on the link to download the report. If you only need to read an abstract of it, read there.

JPMorgan Chase is an institution which are participating in all categories: Crypto Trading and Custody, Private Crypto Funds, Crypto ETFs, Crypto-Enabled Payments, Tokenization.

By pointing this out, I would like to show you how deep JP Morgan Chase engaged in cryptocurrency market so that you can see how their CEO Jamie Dimon told us something oppositely. He lies, the table shows that.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Different wallets for each buying origin? on: February 01, 2024, 03:36:18 AM
Do you also separate the "where you bought"? One wallet for each exchange/platform/vendor/seller?

I mean, do you have a separate wallet for each Hodlhodl, Bisq, Robosats, etc. at no-kyc?
And then at kyc: do you have a separate one for Relai, one for Kraken and so on?

Quote
In order not to mix the coins?
You must use Coin control feature to spend specific UTXOs but the best option is use different wallets for different purposes. Because it is not harmful to do this but it's useful. You don't have to spend any more things to create new wallets to use so if this simple and free practice can help to more easily control your coins from different sources like different exchanges (KYC, no KYC, mixers, salary from different jobs), you should do this.

With Bitcoin, you only need to have bitcoin in your wallet for transaction fee. It's different than tokens because you have tokens in a wallet but will need native currency of that blockchain pay transaction fee, like ERC20 token will need ETH to pay transaction fee and if you have many wallets, you will need to have ETH in those wallets for transaction fee.
359  Other / Meta / Re: If I'm Satoshi Nakamoto How do I prove it? on: February 01, 2024, 03:22:33 AM
What's interesting is he never actually signed a message with this key, as far as we know.
Signing a message is not mandatory. If Satoshi Nakamoto already announced his PSG key and his Bitcoin addresses, when he comes back, he can sign messages from those keys as part of evidence. Maybe we will need more than just signed messages to verify Satoshi Nakamoto return.

Quote
But signing the same message from both bitcoin address and PGP key would certainly be a good start for proving that he was back.
Similarly for proving ownership of satoshi account in Bitcointalk.
His account is locked, so no. If he wants to claim his account, he'll have to contact me with a PGP signature.
360  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: January 31, 2024, 11:54:14 PM
Must watch this match, I guess Liverpool will give their best at Anfield - Jota, Nunez and Diaz are already savage enough for this Liverpool front line to penetrate the Chelsea defense with more goals maybe.
Suppose if we lose it won't affect the table but I'm not sure we'll lose tonight.
With this big winning against Chelsea even Chelsea are no longer strong like some seasons ago, Liverpool shown that they are actually on fire. They maintain 5 points more than Manchester City and are creating more pressure on the competitor. Manchester City can reduce it to 2 points but at least with the temporary 5 point difference, Manchester City would feel pressure that they can not lose points when Liverpool are on fire like this. In addition, it's good to see Diaz came back as it's a long time since his last goal for Liverpool.

Liverpool are ready to celebrate a farewell of Klopp with titles.
