1181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as gift on: February 18, 2023, 01:15:14 PM
I want to surprise him with $200 BTC because I can't attend his birthday party.
$200 is a damn high value gift. It's a big money in many countries and for many people.

Quote
So is it apprised to gift a friend bitcoin at his birthday party?
Surely you can but something you must think
  • $200 is high, are you sure you want to give him a $200 gift?
  • Have you ever known how to use Bitcoin?
  • It's important. If he have never used it, likely after receiving your gift, he will throw it away, ask someone who can steal that bitcoin, or ask you for more tutorial from you. But you are not sure what he will do after he receives it from you.
  • You will likely teach him how to import seed/ key, how to make a transaction, how to sell it on exchanges. Are you ready?

To deliver gift, you

Giftcard trading is risky too but if you deliver giftcard to your friend, tell him that he can sell it on Paxful
1182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin on: February 18, 2023, 11:24:43 AM
If you want to make money from crypto, just buy and hold.
Buy and hold means invest.

By words, it sounds very easy but in practice it is so hard. Because waiting time since buying, holding and time when you can take profit sometimes is very long. A long the holding time, you will have to face with many tests in the market especially psychological and discipline tests.

If you are undisciplined, you will break your plans with greed (stop holding and change to spot trading or worse margin, future trading)
If you are unable to tolerate against fud, psychological tests in bear market and even in bull market, there are fuds too, you will exit soon than what needed to gain profit.

With many psychological phases, likely weak hands and undisciplined people will exit.

It's not easy but your advice is good: invest can help people richer with Bitcoin.
1183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 18, 2023, 11:05:50 AM
I see most of posts are about Arsenal but people are forgetting about Newcastle United and their Sunday meeting with Liverpool.

I believe many of you will surprise by knowing that Newcastle United are the only team in Premier League 2022 - 2023 got only 1 lost match so far. It is damn impressive performance from Newcastle and they will face with Liverpool, the only team in Premier League managed to beat them so far.

Newcastle United have 9 points more than Liverpool but they also play one more match than Liverpool too. If Liverpool win the next Super Sunday match, they will have 6 points less than Newcastle United and if they continue to win the postponed match, they will have 3 points less than Newcastle United. It is like a very rosy scenario for Liverpool to hunt Newcastle United at the fourth position.

Of course, Liverpool have to race with other clubs like Tottenham, Chelsea and Brighton. It is not a dual race with Newcastle United.

1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin on: February 18, 2023, 10:26:56 AM
Because according to my research most crypto miners use cloud mining
With cloud mining, you buy hashrates from a group of miners, a mining company but this branch is full of scammers. It's risky but some people want to use it because of its convenience. You don't have to prepare space, location for your mining farms; don't have to set it up; don't have to spend time to observer your rig operations and don't have to spend time for maintenance, technical fix too.

Cloudmining 101 (ponzi risk assessment)

You can think of Cloud mining like Staking. The company that runs staking service can pay you or reject to pay you anytime. With cloud mining, it is worse as you have to pay service fee at beginning but at the end, as said, you might not receive payout.

1186  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin vs. Inflation on: February 17, 2023, 01:58:24 PM
People are mad with their minds and reactions.

Last year, they were fearful about FED and their decisions.
This year, they are fearful about recession.

Inflation problems should be seen a few months after the pandemic when many governments poured the global market with their huge QEs but people just denied that fact. They waited many months later to start feeling fearful that is lagging.

From what FED did, I think they don't do anything quickly after one night. Before they launch something, they try to test market reactions with fud and they will vaguely talk about their probable plans for near future. They did it before increasing interest rate and they're testing market reactions again before they decrease interest rate. Sooner or later they will do it, maybe more than next 6 months but it's not a matter for Bitcoin diamond hands and real hodlers.
1187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 17, 2023, 01:48:47 PM

Sassuolo actually had several matches with quite good results, namely in several previous matches Sassuolo managed to beat Milan with quite a lot of scores, namely 5-2. followed by beating Atalanta with a score of 1-0. but in the most recent match Sassuolo was held to a draw by Udinese with a score of 2-2. even though Sassuolo doesn't seem to be a dangerous threat to Napoli but there is always any possibility, so surprises can happen in this match. However, I still believe that Napoli will continue their winning record.
In latest seasons, Sassuolo is one of most giant killer teams but in this season, it is impossible for them to beat Napoli. They are not as good as previous seasons and Napoli oppositely have their best season after many years.

Sassuolo can make some shocked winnings but perhaps it's not this time with Napoli as their opponent. Napoli are completing this season to take a first Scudetto after many years and they will not lose points to average clubs as they want to have more time to think of Champions League.

Sassuolo should not be considered a weak opponent at the moment. Although they are 15th in the points table, they have performed very well in their last four matches. Sassuolo has won against mighty opponents like Atalanta and Inter Milan. And the interesting thing is that they scored 5 goals against Inter Milan. So Napoli will make a big mistake if they think this team is a weak opponent. Sassuolo players are in good form now. They are hard to beat. I like the Napoli team though. Still, I think Napoli will drop points in this match. The match may be a draw.
In the last five years, Sassuolo is a club that grows up many good young players for Italian team. With those young players, they have good strength and achieved some good rankings on the table too. In this season, it is not easy for Sassuolo to end it in top six because big clubs are playing very well and currently taking good positions but it does not make this season becomes too bad for Sassuolo.

A draw or a win for Sassuolo against Napoli? I don't think they can do it this time.
1188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Identification of scammers? on: February 17, 2023, 11:57:49 AM
I want to know how to identify scammers and if there is any how can we know them as a beginner.
You don't have to self research and find scammers. Forum has a trust and flag system that can help newbies to easily recognize scammers.

If you see a members with too many negative trust, negative trust feedback and active flags, it's not good.

1189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to trade your Bitcoin on: February 16, 2023, 02:29:15 PM
Are you calling CEX safe place to store your coins or hardware wallets? The thing is you can invest money through these exchanges into bitcoin like Binance but you have to undergo lot of KYC procedures which ends up your privacy but worse is if you still keep your coins over these exchanges as they will posses the keys to your coins so better be prepared to lose them anytime. If hardware wallets are expensive for you then non custodial wallets like Electrum are best alternative for storing your bitcoins safely.
Centralized exchanges are not safe places to store your coins, never.

They can scam you with scam exit.
They can have bad risk and capital management which ends with bankruptcy and you will likely not get any compensation.

Alternatively, non-custodial (self-custodial) wallets are safe place to store your coins.
1190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and NFTs on: February 16, 2023, 02:00:16 PM
I do not know what others think but I think NFT on Bitcoin is just a marketing ploy and a money grab, I don't see any usage on these NFT at all.  Maybe I am wrong but I really don't buy this kind of project being implemented on Bitcoin or in its outer layer.
The idea behind NFT, GameFi, Metaverse is not sustainable but I think those branches of cryptocurrency ecosystem will survive. Unfortunately, along the way, many projects will fail and die before people can build up more sustainable tokenomic models as well as more really good utility and use cases for NFTs.

At the moment, NFT or Metaverse games are not actual games and can not compete with traditional games. In addition, people who join are not actually gamers and they won't simply enjoy playing games but care more about cost-benefit of their investment in NFTs. Therefore, when they feel bad, they will cut loss, sell their NFTs and tokens on market that would cause huge selling pressure.

Quote
Instead of this kind of stuff, I believe it is better if they put their energy and resources to create a better-performing Bitcoin and it can start with Scalability to secure future growth of transactions capability when the adoption explosion commence.
It's the past story and usually it's hard to share it to newbies and help them understand it.
1191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to trade your Bitcoin on: February 16, 2023, 01:49:10 PM
Trading is bad than investment and margin (leverage) and future tradings are worse than Spot trading. I hope that you won't learn your hard lessons (with loss, forced liquidations) from Margin and Future tradings as well as at less cost from Spot trading.

If you trade, learn to use Stop loss, Stop-limit orders that are weapons to protect your funds.
1192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and NFTs on: February 16, 2023, 11:14:07 AM
NFT projects have yet solved their Achilles problem, inflationary supply and can not fight against selling pressure from NFT owners, gamers, investors. If they can not solve it, their projects will fail and their tokens will be dumped.

If anybody does not believe it, check NFT category, Metaverse category, GameFi category on Coinmarketcap and see price history of such tokens.

Ordinals creates short term higher demands on Bitcoin network but when hype on Ordinals is slow down especially when their token is dumped, crashed, demand will vanish shortly. Bitcoin network will return to its normality.

Bitcoin network is better than in 2017 when Roger Ver and BCash team attacked with dusts. The Ordinals case proves that Bitcoin network is stronger and better than years ago. Nothing like transactions stucked in mempool one or two weeks with high fee rates.

Bitvest though is still up for some reason, but I have no idea if the payout system is at all functional.
It works since the latest update from lightlord and I don't see complains about that recent months so assume payouts from Bitvest.io are still fine. Their hot wallet is still not empty and can proceed payouts for users.

I believe it's not relevant to discuss about lightlord's health issues or his personal problems if there are no problems with payouts from Bitvest.io.

I respect him and don't want to discuss about those things, in this topic too. I believe others should not too. It's kind of minimal respect for him and is part of my objectives by opening this thread.

If admins or moderators disagree with my proposal, it's fine but I still not think it's good to let that thread opened and just reporting spam posts. It's time to lock the thread to stop more derailing discussions. Thanks.
1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 15, 2023, 05:06:06 PM
The success of winning the FIFA Club World Cup will make Real Madrid even more excited to perform better in the remainder of this season.
They are a winning club and has very great tradition with so many titles. When playing for Real Madrid, something very different that affects player mentality and makes them more confidence about themselves.

With this mentality across their team, they don't need to play well in all 90 minutes to win a match. They can win it after only one shot on target or can flip the match after getting conceded goal first. The past season in Champions League is a very classic example on Real Madrid winning mentality, never give up until last minutes.

In La Liga, they still have many months and matches ahead and they won't give up the league title to Barcelona too early in February.

Quote
Real Madrid immediately shifted their focus to the match against Elche, Real Madrid target is of course to get three points to cut the distance from Barcelona who are at the top of the standings.
Real Madrid became the favorite team to face Elche, especially in the first meeting this season, Madrid won 3-0 at home to Elche. Even though Elche managed to win in his last game when he beat Villarreal, statistically Real Madrid can win easily.
Elche will give Real Madrid chance to win easily and don't use too much resource. They will need to prepare for Champions League match with Liverpool too but first they must win against Elche.

lightlord has personal issues (likely with his health) as he revealed one year ago and he is very little actively on the forum. His last active day is October 07, 2022.

Things have been very difficult after the second vaccination shot, affected in ways that were unforeseen. With continued weight loss all the way to Dec. I've since gained 10 pounds, more strength, and health.

Recently I saw many posters made many posts in Bitvest.io thread and I think those posts are like spamming. If possible, I'd ask admins or moderators to temporarily lock that thread with a note for lightlord that if he is active again, DM admins to unlock the thread.

If any poster want to discuss about it, create a discussion thread in Gambling discussion child board.

If admin approves my proposal, please consider to lock 777coin thread too.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Monetary Policy But Things are Changing Now (Taproot) on: February 15, 2023, 04:25:25 PM
Bitcoin has a fixed supply which ensures that Bitcoins monetary policy is perfect and secured in the long run from the point of view of the store of value. Time to Time inflation due to excessive supply is perfectly managed in the Bitcoins monetary policy.
It has a fixed total supply but many bitcoins were lost. We can not get an exact number of lost bitcoin but can estimate it based on inactive UTXOs.

    Controlled Circulation Supply

Control of supply for the stable growth of capital is a very important tool of the monetary policy and we all better know that the Bitcoins supply control model is well established by the algorithmic event called BTC Halving where the block reward on mining is settled by ½ on every Halving.[/li][/list]

    Deflationary Model

It is not correct to say Bitcoin has a deflationary model. It is inflationary with time. Just has a significant less inflation rate than all fiat currencies. So bitcoin maximalists want to exaggerate it with the term Deflationary model.

Before mentioning about scam projects, let's emphasize that if you are not afford to lose, do neither join cryptocurrency market nor invest in any cryptocurrency.

    1)   Do Your Own Research (DYOR), instead of believing in the Project Team, Ads, Marketing, Hype, etc.
Check their Domain history with https://www.whois.com/

White paper, Team members and Tokenomics. If it is a PoW project, pay attention on their pre-mined coins.

Projects that are only listed on decentralized exchanges will have higher risk of rug pull. Not all of them will do rug pull but be careful.

It does not mean projects that listed on centralized exchanges won't scam you, won't scam exit at the end. Take care.

Pay your attention with settings for your account on Telegram: avoid to be added to scam groups by strangers, automatic download files that can contain malwares and steal your fund.

Ok I have two casino-based tokens in my portfolio and I'm looking at the potential of your token, there are many cons and pros to holding casino-based tokens, but as always I love its staking features, one of the things that will make me add this token to my portfolio is the community support and how they present their platform in the gambling community.
There are casinos with their tradeable tokens on exchanges but it is fair to not mention their names here. The idea to launch a token for Bitnity casino is great and it can be a good utility token for the casino.

So I would like to advise hiring a good thread designer and if possible launching a marketing campaign, I hope you can keep up with 70% of your monthly profit to stalkers.
After building products, having an attractive announcement thread with good graphic design is a plus, then further marketing. I read in the BTNY tokenomics that there are some rooms for marketing, promotion, airdrop, bonus so I am sure the team will launch a lot of things in future.

Designers and campaign managers can be found in my thread

1199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MetaMask issues scam alert as NameCheap hacker sends unauthorized emails on: February 13, 2023, 09:35:01 AM
If newbies learn basics to differentiate custodial and non custodial wallets, they will have less chance to be scammed.

Because it does not make sense if a non custodial wallet asks KYC from users. With such wallets, users already have wallet keys and can move their coins any time. KYC does not make sense in this case.

So if a user received an email to request KYC for a non custodial wallet, that email is like phishing. Chance to see a good non custodial wallet company to change their products to custodial wallet is nearly zero, so impossible to see KYC request.

Don't arbitrarily and carelessly click on any rule. Make sure they double check with announcement on website, Twitter, etc.
1200  Other / Meta / Re: Forum PM feature adjustment on: February 13, 2023, 08:35:19 AM
Forum has three parameters in Inbox and Outbox, that you can use to filter your messages.

I don't think your request will be approve because when I hover mouse on each message, I only see message ID and there is no connection between messages and subjects like post ID and topic ID. I think your request is impossible to do.

Alternatively, you can filter messages by Subject or From/ To columns. Use Subject if you want to filter messages that were sent to multiple receivers. Use From / To to search messages related to specific sender or receiver.
