361  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin now slowly drop should i sell? on: December 07, 2017, 02:36:04 PM
Bitcoin now drop for a while should I sell this or hold what should I do?
I have huge btc in my wallet.

Exactly the reason you need to decide it on your own. You have a lot of btc, you don't want to blame others on any wrong decision you can make because of listening to others. Watch the market, read news (more), feel the vibes then decide on what you want to do.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to ETHERDELTA? on: December 07, 2017, 07:34:26 AM
All my transfers got cancelled. Around 30. I have stopped trading now. I wait.

Yeah, it is better to hold all transactions until the congestion gets freed up. It is a waste of  gas to transfer and get cancelled days later. I also want to trade some good tokens, but I am holding for now. I do not want to get stuck in the blockchain.

367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good moment to buy ETH? on: November 28, 2017, 11:51:48 PM
Is it a good moment to buy ETH with our BTC?

Do you guys think it will get 500+$ in december?

If you already have btc, it is better if you retain it in btc. Bitcoin is in a roll and there is still no sign of stopping. You will gain more in btc than in eth. When bitcoin shows signs of stopping or correction, then you can take profit and convert some to eth.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can any government ban Bitcoin? on: November 27, 2017, 11:51:29 PM
Governments can always make laws banning or making bitcoin illegal. The question is, would it be effective? I guess not. Bitcoin is decentralized, far from what governments used to control. Bitcoin users can always find way to use and get bitcoins. The only way governments can stop bitcoin is if they stop the internet, which most of us will agree, they can't. The most governments can do is regulate exchanges, make it harder for users to utilize bitcoin.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some government ban bitcoin? on: November 27, 2017, 11:06:50 PM
First, any link in this news so we can validate?

On topic, it is just natural for a government to ban or at least limit cryptocurrency in their country. Governments are all control and protecting their interest. If cryptocurrency, particularly bitcoin, is weakening yuan in china, their government is just acting on it that is why they want to close exchanges.

But bitcoin cannot be stopped by that. Users can just swich to decentralized trading platforms and evade those bans. Bitcoin is decentralized and cannot be easily stopped.
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Bitcoin Sell price? on: November 27, 2017, 10:23:01 PM
After reading an article this morning on coindesk

https://www.coindesk.com/survey-plurality-of-bitcoin-users-think-it-can-change-world/

it got me thinking .........

Here is an interesting question.

Regardless of how many bitcoins you own (0.001 or 500) , what price would bitcoin have to hit in order for you to sell? or make you sell?

If it hits 10K within this year, i'll definitely have to sell. It is just short term profit taking. I am not certain but I am expecting a correction or drop on price once it hits that level. So my plan is to take profit then buy back when it drops to a comfortable price. Maybe 8.5K and below is a good price to buy back.
371  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $500,000 by 2020 on: November 27, 2017, 03:29:58 PM

I care about bitcoin reaching 10K but I do not want to think about bitcoin reaching 500K NOW. There are lots of stages before I even consider that to happen. Let us focus first on what is on hand. After bitcoin move past 10K, what are the problems inherit with a high price. Once all the problems are solved, then move to the next ATH. I will think of bitcoin at 500K when we are at 450K and not before that.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price reaches 9735.00 US Dollar, where to invest now? on: November 27, 2017, 01:57:09 PM
Bitcoin price reaches 9735.00 US Dollar, where to invest now? To buy bitcoin or cheap ICO?
Invest in bitcoin.

You will probably get ripped off if you chose a wrong ICO, or even if it is a good project, sometimes the price after ICO is lower than when you bought it.

If you are afraid you get dumped on if you buy bitcoin now, wait a bit, 'til the price dumps a bit then buy bitcoin. It is speculated to reach 10K+ anyway, you will still have some profit if you hold if gets a correction.
373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bit coin hit 25000 USD on: November 27, 2017, 07:06:47 AM
As per these trend , surely next year end this bitcoin will go 25000 USD.

what about your opinions?  and need to know due to forks this risen trend happens?

I would like to say that this is a silly speculation but I cannot really say that if bitcoin is concern. It may or may not reach 25K. But what I like to point out is that this trend cannot run that long. It will soon hit a bump and maybe a dump will happen. The speculation of 25K by end next year will probably not happen. Plus, if we reach that high, this forum will be filled with threads complaining how high transaction price (in dollars) is. That would scare new money to come in.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Message to Satoshi, please dump your 1million bitcoins on: November 26, 2017, 10:01:28 AM
My resolution? Dump all your bitcoins on the biggest exchanges and destroy the currency, then start over.

Let's say satoshi listened to a newbie, and he actually destroyed bitcoin, what do you suggest to start over? What are you gonna change in bitcoin to make it better and not just repeat the whole cycle back to where we are now?

Or you just want to push an altcoin?

Or you are just jealous to those early adopters who have lots of money because of bitcoin that's why you want start over?

375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legalization or public awareness? on: November 25, 2017, 02:13:39 PM
As we all know few countries are banning cryptocurrencies. But are the people aware of cryptocurrencies' existence before it gets banned / legalized in their country?

If it is getting banned, then I think there is already a considerable number of bitcoin or crypto users in that country for the government to notice it and act on it.

As for the poll, I think we should consider awareness first. We should make more people aware of bitcoin, especially the positive side of it. Most people who are not really into crypto only get negative side of bitcoin. But we should show them that there is more to bitcoin and crypto than just a currency used in underground markets and scams. This step will also have a positive effect if ever the government decides to legalize or regulate bitcoin.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why isn't bitcoin enough? on: November 25, 2017, 12:36:18 PM
It is my understanding that

1 bitcoin = 100,000,000 satosi units

That's trillions of units.  So what is the point of bitcoingold, bitcoinsilver, bitcoincopper, litecoin etc etc.  Why is all this happening and where is the value.  It starting to look like what the Fed does with money printing.

Forget the subject of smart contracts and lets focus just on a currency.  Why do we need anything other then just the bitcoin block chain?

Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is good and can cater to a lot of our currency needs but it is not enough. Thus, the birth of altcoins. Some altcoins have real functions that bitcoin does not have. Like ETH have their smart contracts. Some altcoins claim that they are totally anonymous, others claim faster transactions and less fees.

But there are also some alts that are made purely to scam and others have no functions at all but to make money for their devs. Those are sh!t coins.

Though there are lots of altcoins in existence and more are created everyday, this does not mean it diminish the value of bitcoin. But I think compliments what bitcoin cannot do.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta or Bittrex on: November 25, 2017, 11:41:07 AM
In your opinion whats the best exchange my ALT coins? ( Cheapest aspect )

why?

There is no competition in this one, Bittrex win all the way. Etherdelta cannot compete with bittrex because etherdelta only supports ERC20 tokens. Bittrex covers most of altcoins and some tokens who qualify to be listed on their exchange. The advantage of ED is that it is a decentralized exchange while bittrex is not.
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth to pay $8200 for 1 BTC if you are a newbie? on: November 24, 2017, 03:29:10 PM
Is bitcoin still a good investment for newbies? Is it worth to pay almost $8200 for 1 BTC today?

Rank does not matter in any investment. What matters is if the investment still have room to grow. In bitcoin, the potential is still great and it is predicted to reach above 10K by next year. So it is still worth it. The profit is still hefty even if you buy at the current price.

Next question is, can you afford to lose the money you are investing? You should not invest money that should go for your daily expenses or emergency expenses. You should only invest money that is allotted for investing. If you don't, your hands are tied and if the price drops you'll be too scared and might sell on lost.
379  Economy / Economics / Re: Could massive use of Electricity be the end or new high for Bitcoin on: November 24, 2017, 09:47:58 AM
The world will be switching to renewable source of energy before that happens and coals as source of energy will be gone. With all the talk of climate change, most country will adopt to solar, wind, geothermal or hydro as source of energy. Asics will adopt as well to consume less energy with better output. So i think this is not a problem at all.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin in a pump and dump cycle? on: November 24, 2017, 08:45:37 AM
In 2015, you can still say that there are pump and dump when the price was still quite low and very few people have bitcoins in their hands. But since then, the price have grown so high and there are more people holding bitcoin. It will be  harder to manipulate the price to go for somebody's favor. I do not think there are group of people who have enough bitcoin to move the price this huge. They cannot possibly pump up to 150K. And even if most people say they'll hold up to 200K, you can't trust that. Once it reach 10K, they'll probably dump.
