^  Yup!  Had the same problem too when bridging to Osmosis when I tried it as Osmosis could be the chain where we could swap for DYM when it goes online.  I bridged to Solana too and was able to convert Wormhole USDC to Solana's native USD in Raydium.  And the funny thing is Wormhole USDC doesn't have a ticker.  It's indicated with the smart contract address...  Weird.

Anyway, it looks like just a tad under 50% of those who qualified claimed their DYM, kinda like what happened to TIA.  Cheesy  Cheesy  Just shows how early we all are with this new meta.

^  Ricciardo to Red Bull is already written the minute he stepped in Alpha Tauri.  The guy just needs more time with the junior team to get his bearings back while waiting out Perez's contract expiration at Red Bull.  At least that's what I think.  And I think Helmut Marko doesn't really like Perez.

Another clue that points Ricciardo's eventual return to Red Bull is Helmut Marko personally called Ricciardo to ask him to take the drive at Alpha Tauri.

Quick answer as to why others got penalised and City didn't: others admitted and accepted wrongdoing, City has denied each and every one of those 100+ allegations.

It's more like they have an army of the best lawyers money could buy and again...  Their loop hole is air tight.  They did their homework before they did their shenanigans.  From the legal aspect of it all to the accounting and financial aspect.  And from their own eyes, it's just business.  Have a rule book that's gonna be exploited like that then it's def gonna be exploited.

Now I won't say that Man City doesn't deserve punishment because what they did should def be frown upon.  But irl it's all about what you can get away with, not what you deserve...  And it's fcked up.

I think DDP won too.  He took Strickland down when it mattered.

It is not that DDP was tired in championship round, but Strickland looked more fresh. Ive noticed he has good tank in late rounds agains Adesanya. In general, I like main event fight. I think Strickland landed more strikes. That would be enough to win imho, but it was DDP who welcomed each strike with face.

I dont agree with split decision. Draw would be better result, followed by a rematch. Becoming a champ via SD. I dont know. That is so shaking. Who faces DDP now? Izzy?

P.S. Feel sad for Strickland, as I think hype around him going to go really low, but he is such a funny guy Grin

Strickland actually looked like he was slowing down at R3 and R4 and it was DDP that started to look surprisingly good on those rounds.  Be it a change of pace on DDP's side or Strickland getting tired because he couldn't set the tempo like he did Adesanya, I don't know...

Anyway, just noticed that we have another gap week.  :/  So no UFC this weekend folks.  Sucks...

^  I was expecting 'to the death'.  Lolol.  Kidding, I really loved it but both couldn't finish each other.  Both styles were preventing them from knocking each other out.  But it was a very good fight.

And wtf Canada.  The Canadian girls both won but none of the Canadian guys won.  All 7 of them...  :/  And they were all favorites too.  Cheesy

Anyway here are the results...

Dricus du Plessis def Sean Strickland SD
Raquel Pennington def Mayra Bueno Silva UD
Neil Magny def Mike Malott   TKO R3
Chris Curtis def Marc-Andre Barriault SD
Movsar Evloev def Arnold Allen UD
Garrett Armfield def Brad Katona   UD
Sean Woodson def Charles Jourdain SD
Ramon Taveras def Serhiy Sidey Decision SD
Gillian Robertson def Polyana Viana TKO R2
Sam Patterson def Yohan Lainesse Sub R1
Jasmine Jasudavicius def Priscila Cachoeira Sub R3
Jimmy Flick def Malcolm Gordon Sub R2

^  What's the update on Manta's announcement for an airdrop for TIA stakers?  Did they just say it because they wanted to ride TIA's hype?  :/

Anyway, PYTH broke out of 0.365ish resistance.  There are kinda some sellers at 0.39 - 0.40 but it looks fine.  Will prolly take a whole week to trend up to 0.50 - 0.55 then it's off to the races after that.  PYTH to 1 USD!  LFG!!

It was Guaradiola that's giving a hint that the club could get away with it.  He stayed with the club which he would've otherwise quit if he knew City were going to get caught of doing anything illegal.  The minute he saw the club's shenanigans were air tight, he stayed.  Grin

Pep is a business coach; he has looked at other possibilities in Europe, and there are no open positions at any top-tier club; he was not going to leave Manchester City to sit on the beach waiting for a top-tier job offer. He knew full well that City would not get away with 115 charges; such a large number of charges is difficult to get away with. Pep's next target is PSG; he does not coach a low-budget team.

Their lawyers will defend each one individually; even Saul GoodMan will be unable to help them in this case.

We'll see...  I could be wrong but I think he would've already left if he knew the shenanigans at Man City would tarnish his reputation.  And I think he was all ready going to leave the club right before Ferran Soriano, Txiki and the oilers had a sit down with him.  The next couple of days Guardiola had a press conference and told everybody that he trusts the club did nothing wrong.

What does that mean?  The loop hole is air tight.  Lolol.  But again we'll see...

Here's the last couple if vids for Embedded.  I haven't watched it yet but I will as soon as I finish this post.  I'm curious what Strickland said to DDP during the face off.  Strickland is weird during face offs as he doesn't like to act all tough.  He said once before that he doesn't want to go to a place in his head where he gets obsessed with his opponent.

But yeah, I'm back and forth with the main event.  I think Strickland will style on DDP.  I watched both Till and Whittaker matches vs DDP.  DDP wasn't really dominating in both matches but he's strong.  So yeah...  Dunno.  Lol.

PFL just announced new big event coming in February and this is the first time all BFL Champions will face Bellator Champions!
Yoel Romero is coming back against Thiago Santos in this fight of the veterans, Romero is 46 and Santos 40 years old.
This event is happening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but one guy we are missing here is Francis Ngannou who is preparing for another boxing fight.

https://pflmma.com/news/pfl-champions-vs-bellator-champions

Whoa...  Really?!?  I think that's prolly the best roster I've ever seen outside of the UFC that could compete even with the best rosters in any UFC PPV event.  I hope we'll see more events like it from the PFL - Bellator.  It's good to have some competition.  It just makes MMA better overall.  And that also means a bigger and more diverse betting market.

Damn I can't wait to see what the lines on these match ups are like.

And those guys at the top wouldn't want no smoke from Ngannou.  Lolol.  Would've been nice to see him up there tho.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 19, 2024, 12:50:25 PM
Yeah, all the players Liverpool wanted but couldn't afford have suddenly become mediocre players. A team that spent Benfica €100 million for Nunez should not be complaining about substandard players or how poorly other teams handle transfers. Perhaps you forgot that we also know how to do away with poor players.

It's one thing to make a shitty transfer. It is a completely another one to take the business approach you have taken.
I think nobody did it in football so far, and we'll see how that experiment will turn out. Boehly has no clue what he's doing, that is clear.

____________________________

Really curious to see what the City verdict will be. Even a minor points deduction would hurt them a lot, but there's no way City will be punished like that.

I think they'll get away with it with no punishment given.  They found a loop hole and even if there were some shenanigans going on behind the scenes, I think nobody could make a case against Man City as everything was done legally...   Technically.  Cheesy Cheesy

It was Guaradiola that's giving a hint that the club could get away with it.  He stayed with the club which he would've otherwise quit if he knew City were going to get caught of doing anything illegal.  The minute he saw the club's shenanigans were air tight, he stayed.  Grin

Didn't watch the interviews but pretty sure Strickland went to have a funny skit and went on to talk about some random sht about everybody.  Lol.

Here's the essence and probably the most quoted/retweeted bit.
https://twitter.com/SStricklandMMA/status/1747734279516250446

Strickland says how it is. He already won in my eyes  Grin
Hope he doesn't get arrested for "hate" speech or something. There's no free speech pretty much anywhere outside of the US.

But it's also good to see these guys act nice with each other before a match.  The McGregor routine is getting old now.

I just watched a live pre-fight conference. Sean said it was never personal and they both shook hands on the agreement to fight to the death or something. It was nice.

In terms of odds, I'm leaning towards DDP. Strickland made it clear he's going there to brawl and will keep pressing forward, which is not a smart tactic for him. Dricus is visibly much bigger and stronger than him so he should be focussing on utilising his cardio advantage. Hopefully his team will talk some sense into him before the fight.

Just watched the pre fight press conference.  I'm kinda more scared at Strickland now that he's taking everything lightly but then say that he wants to fight to the death.  What a psychopath.  And he did say a couple of times before that one day he felt that he could kill somebody inside the octagon if pushed the wrong way...  I think the press conference during December kinda pushed Strickland the wrong way when DDP said he'll remind Strickland of his father beating him as a kid when they fight.  :/

I wonder what kind of game plan Strickland and his corner are bringing...  Can't wait!

Embedded is kinda meh after the first episode hope it picks up.

Here's something about Monad that has been going around...  Monad and Pyth Network announced a partnership around fall last year.  And it's looking like staking Pyth could grant eligibility for Monad's airdrop.  Now we can't really be sure if it's really the case but it couldn't hurt to stake a small amount of PYTH.

Thank you, I'm already staking portion of $PYTH received from airdrop.

There is going to be airdrop from Altlayer to participants of their campaigns, $TIA stakers and Eigenlayer restakers, ann here.

Nice.  And everybody itt should start using Wormhole's Portal Bridge for sending assets across different chains.  It's massively under used rn.  They could have a token of their own too.  Who knows...  WORM or HOLE would make nice tickers.  Lolol.  Cheesy Cheesy

Yeah and I just heard about Altlayer.  I hope my staked TIA is enough to get eligibility...  Grin  It isn't much but it's better than nothing.  Will just add more if needed.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Arb below 1$ on: January 18, 2024, 12:40:41 PM
its price have rebounded with remarkable price and even indicates that its growth may keep continue for whole year

I expect dump due to huge unlock that's coming in March [1], and more unlocks every 4 weeks after that. We are in bullish market and these unlocks have bearish impact, I'm not sure who will win here but I sold portion of ARB received from airdrop few days ago. It was surprisingly perfect moment to sell, cause it dumped shortly after.

[1] https://defillama.com/unlocks/arbitrum

Yup, it's gonna be on March 16 and as said before it's going to be 87% of the current supply.  That's almost double.  I'm pretty sure a lot of those guys will start unloading as it's a cliff unlock.  Meaning all those tokens are available for selling at the date of the unlock.

And those tokens are the team's and the early investors' allocations, oof.  But it would be bullish if the team and the investors decide to relock for another year.  :/  We'll see...
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 18, 2024, 12:20:55 PM
^  That's why Adesanya wouldn't want to fight Pereira again after getting the L back.  He knows there's a high possbility that he could lose if they fought again.  :/  And judging by what we saw with him vs Strickland, Pereira would def have a chance.

Isnt this can be called luck, as he managed to dominate Adesanya for 4 rounds? Grin I just typed "best ufc striker", and among many tops, Adesaya was often among top5. Isnt it luck, if you beat best striker with simple shell defence? Isnt it luck to have a title fight when the last opponent you have beat was unranked guy with 1-1 record in UFC? Isnt it luck that Adesanya was not Adesanya and had mental problems (that is imho) that day? Of course Strickland improved, is a good fighter and no doubt he deserved that belt. But there were so many "little things" with Strickland and that belt, so I have called it luck.

The answer to every of those questions is No  Grin
Essentially, to say Strickland was "lucky" is like taking away the credit he deserves. He put in a lot of hard work and executed an effective tactic. Out of his last 11 fights he only lost to Pereira, who later won 2 belts.

Anyhow, here's the video from the press conference. Sean did not disappoint:

And that's not all.  Monad also announced a partnership with Wormhole also last year...  It also just announced a partnership with none other than Layer Zero yesterday.  So I guess staking Wormhole and Layer Zero for Monad will be at play after they release their respective tokens.

Time is really running fast. I hope that at least one team can manage to go head-to-head with Red Bull in the new season. It was quite boring to see Verstappen and Red Bull winning constantly last season. I couldn't keep up with the last news. Is it certain that Red Bull will continue with Perez this season?

Pretty sure it's gonna be Perez because Daniel Ricciardo isn't ready for the second seat at Red Bull yet and Perez still has one more year to go with his contract.  No need to hurry shooing him off as his days with the team are numbered.  Cheesy Cheesy

The only thing Perez could do to save himself and retain his seat at Red Bull is to win a championship which he'll never be able to do.  Verstappen has been winning the constructor's championship all by himself...  Embarassing for Perez imho.

Four days till fun and freaky Sean Strickland vs DDP fight and we barely have a discussion here Cheesy While we previously had a hot discussion when Strickland all of a sudden became a champ Cheesy What are your prediction right now? Will Strickland be able to make at least one title defence, or has got that belt by luck (or gonna lose it because he is such a reckless guy). Imho DDP is going to knock him out this weekend. I close my eyes and see it is going to be something similar to what Pereira did, also a punch.

Also I am curious who would be able to knock DDP out among current middle weight fighters. Seems that he has sold his chin to devil in exchange to having it like rock for 10-15 fights (but then it is gonna turn into glass).

I didn't think he got lucky. I think he actually did the hard work and he was able to earn the belt. Now there is a catch. People will tell me that if he actually earned the belt, he should be able to defend the belt successfully, but I think it is going to be hard for him for sure.

I don't know if DDP will knock him out or not. But I think this is a hard fight for Strickland and I won't be surprised if he actually gets knocked out by Du Plessis. But it is also not going to be a surprise for me if Strickland can actually win this fight.

What I am trying to say is that this fight is going to be 50-50 for both of the fighters. And I also think that in this fight, timing is going to be everything.

Duke Khan

Yup, it wasn't luck but we can't deny that part of it had something to do with Adesanya being off.  He didn't look sharp that night...  Even DDP would've won if he was fighting in the cage.  He might have even finished Adesanya.

As for Strickland vs DDP, it's either DDP getting the finish early or Strickland wins late.  I'm going for the former.  Again...  Strickland loves applying pressure on his opponents and DDP will meet him in the middle making the match a total car crash.  Can't wait.

This episode wasn't as good as the one prior.

Günther Steiner released an interview and he basically said if he will come back in F1 he will be in a better team

He doesn't want to be back in a small team but he want something big.

And what team was he referring to?  Top teams are Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes.  Midtable teams which I guess could be considered somewhat big are McLaren, Aston Martin and Alpine..?  I guess Alpine is the smallest one among the midtable teams and it's a fringe big team.  And there's the rest of the bunch Williams, Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romero and Haas.

So, which team do you think will he go next?

And isn't there gonna be a couple more teams on 2026?  There's Audi and Andretti's team.  Maybe Steiner is gunning for one of them...

^  Not denying it's going to be a sad event in football if found guilty.  And yup, I've already said that Guardiola was the one questioning the club when the shenanigans hit the news.  It's some posts above...

I think there was a time when Guardiola almost called it quits with Man City but then the top brass prolly talked to him and assured him that their loophole was tight.  Lmao.  Guardiola went on to have a press conference a week later and said he wasn't leaving and that he still supports the club.
