I am coming to the conclusion that in the future it may be best to be able to defend your home/property yourself. I could either buy vast acreage and build a fortress, or buy an island that is easier to protect as the only people coming will be coming by boat...which can be defended against.

you know there are these things called "aircraft" that make a lot of traditional defenses useless.

Panama has no military really. Certainly no airforce, no navy. That's a big reason we (Ocean Builders) moved here.

The likely encounters I would have would be drug runners or natives trying to rob me and burn down my home.

A friend of mine owns a lot of land here and he recently had to pretty much go to war with some of the native tribes invading his land. Guns were all he needed to chase them out, but not after they had burned down the buildings and stolen what they could steal.

I doubt they'll send fighter jets from the US to disrupt my vast operation of living off grid raising a couple of cattle so I can eat steaks.

For the book we're writing about the seastead adventure we were asked "what is the end goal for you living on a seastead free from government?"
Our engineer: "A hyperloop to launch people into space"
Me: "A lemonade stand. Unregulated without any police interference."

I saw your post about your island..
I think I have a few more years of work ahead of me, and a few more years of HODLing, but I have similar plans for my future..

Not quite as extravagant, but more like retiring to a livaboard sailboat in that area, living cheap..

I just want to be free..

I’m working my ass off right now, 90+ hour weeks, far from home, for the greater goal..

I’ve been home less than 2 weeks so far this entire year, less than half of that time off..
Some day I will have the rest of my life off..

Godspeed to your endeavors...

India is getting hammered by Covid-19. Situation over there is worse than the chaos what i saw in Brazil.

Absolute madness.

*nod* I'm kind of wondering what the fuck happened, could this be the result of that stupid religious holiday a month ago? If so then man, those Gods are *pissed*

People not wearing masks, and the government allowing massive crowds to gather in the name of religion so they can get votes next election. All this combined with the fact that we're low on oxygen cylinders, and hospital beds are over capacity by a huge amount

I have not met you... so I will try not to be an asshole right out of the gate.  But I find it cognitively very challenging that you can type the bolded, and also have the words: "Be decentralized, be sovryn" in your profile.

People dying from covid is certainly a difficult and challenging problem.  But my limit for where I find it acceptable for a government to deny it's people to assemble is MUCH MUCH higher than yours seemingly.

Millennial or younger?

I almost want to rant about hating governments now..
Damn all the lines I could write about any government telling me what to do and what not to do..
Conjures such hate in my heart..

Good post..

I like doge pin just fine and all, one of my favorite alts for sure, but how in the actual fuck is it this high and sustaining?

Wtf is going on? LOL

Everyone expecting Elon to pamp it on SNL tonight? I'm Expecting a big sell off next week though.

But that's neither here or there, gogo BTC slow and steady towards new ATH.

This whole DOGE insanity brings me into some moral dilemma, I ask myself if it is justifiable on moral grounds to sell DOGE at 1200 sats or higher to obviously mentally retarded biders. Even if the person buying from me with their precious corn explicitly stated that he wants to do so, it seems to me on par with selling sleeping pills to a person that just announced they want to OD themselves.

On the other hand, I really like every single coin I have mined in the past 7 yrs and it's normally a hard decision to let go of them, but at 1200 sats (and higher) the separation pain became somewhat bearable.

* psycodad goes back to dry shopping on privateislandsonline.com, thinking he might hire a DOGE investor as groundskeeper (they might need a second job soon).

Heck no!!! Dump on em!
Feeling guilty about giving someone something they want?

If someone doesn’t get into Bitcoin because they can’t understand decimals or are confused by a few zeros..
Darwinism.. They will stay poor..

So the 70k heslo in 1 month guess is back on the map....

70k by may 1 for sure Grin

quoted Grin

my lowest buy was like 48.3k this dip, a buy i had set a tick above 47k never went off though. kinda a bummer.

I got in at  4 price points

51,037 Apr 22
49,853 Apr 23
49,322 Apr 24
48,249 Apr 25

@ OutOfMemory 70k by May is a very nice rhyme

My first post on 70k by may 1 below:

Another 60k+ so we are coiling to go past 70k asap.  By May 1 for sure. that would be 2 weeks for today.

I bought in the first dip between 53,9 and 54,4
The last dip I got a bunch more between 47,9 and 48,1

I’m back to about even on my first drippings now and up on the 2nd..

Figure I’ll be pretty happy with all of it once we are back over 60..
That money was kinda supposed to be for something else, like responsible adulting, but I couldn’t resist..

Bitcoin works not so great for authoritarians/socialists/leftists..

Bitcoin works great for anyone who hodls some. She has perfect bilateral symmetry, and telling left from right isn't her forte.

Ohhh..
I suppose you could think that way if you only see it as a means to increase your wealth..
389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 26, 2021, 07:51:35 PM
On another note...

Buy a little piece of BTC on coinbase..
“Welcome to the world of crypto!” It says..
Bitch.. I have BTC transactions on this CB account from 2014!!

Welcome to the world of crypto... Mmkay..

Yeah, I’ve had a coinbase account longer than I’ve had a bitcointalk account..

I’m migrating my play coins to CB pro.. Haven’t used it since it was GDAX around 2017 iirc..
Both still have all my trade/TX histories..

Henry Ford proposed an "energy currency" as the foundation for the world's financial system in 1921. A century later, we have #Bitcoin
https://twitter.com/DocumentingBTC/status/1386406362209345540?s=20

I have been looking into the feasibility of such a thing a lot lately. I believe Saylor has looked into it in depth as well as I noticed that he mentioned some of the numbers on energy loss on transferring over distances.

I believe it would require superconductor technology close to room temperature for it to be feasible but I think the implications of such a thing would be awesome.

Imagine having a thumb drive with 10kWh on it that you could transfer 1kWh to someone in a few seconds. Something that you can take home and plug into your house and have a night's worth of energy or get paid for 2 weeks of work and it gets transferred to your car which you can plug into your home and top up your hot wallet as needed.

This would encourage advances in energy storage and creation. The world would be abundant in energy such that we could have a lot of very advanced technology, translating very well into moving into space. Even such that people mine space for energy with more efficient generation closer to the sun while transferring energy back to Earth.

The only thing standing between us and that type of currency is technology. Technology that advances yearly at an exponential pace the closer we get to it.

As for the whole meat thing...I suspect that the media is working in overdrive as they support the NWO plan on getting us all to eat cockroaches. I just can't believe that people on this board are spouting off the propaganda as if it's all true. People who know how much they lie about Bitcoin and still believe their lies about meat. It's a damn shame. Maybe the media has been too kind to Bitcoin...it was perhaps a better filter when it was being attacked as just being used for drugs on the darkweb.

Henry Ford wrote many interesting things, another I recall quite related to Elwar’s last paragraph there..
The International .. who?
It’s slipping my mind at the moment.. The International something, by Henry Ford..
google DuckDuckGo it..

In other words, all are welcome here in bitcoinlandia (not that any of us can stop "them" or "the others"), even if you are retarded and even if you are trying to impose your values and beliefs on bitcoin or trying to "destroy it" in one way or another.... Maybe you will get recked or run off in an emotional outburst (aka rage quit) when you perceive that bitcoin is not working for the values/beliefs of ur lil selfie.. blah blah blah..   and maybe bitcoin is going to say.. who cares.. go fuck ur lil selfie with a 36 foot metal rod, if you believe that bitcoin is ONLY x, y and z.. blah blah blah.

Right!
Bitcoin is definitely good for money laundering, buying drugs and making all sorts of “illegal” purchases, funding organizations that get shut down by the likes of visa and PayPal, keeping any government from freezing or confiscating your accounts, leaving totalitarian countries that restrict you from taking your wealth out of the country..

Make all the laws you want.. You can’t stop Bitcoin or stop anyone from doing whatever they choose with it..
Bitcoin still works perfectly for the anarchic uses it was intended for..

Hilarious to see “bitcoiner” lefties get their panties twisted about tax evasion.. lol

Bitcoin works not so great for authoritarians/socialists/leftists..
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 26, 2021, 02:45:31 PM
What is with all the bullish threads starting up around here? Bitcoin will only fall to $40k? $5k? C'mon. Are these new forum members also new at math? The bullish sentiment of these "bearish" predictions is too much. $100 or please re-do your math.

What kind of maths you using?

There are a surprising number of progressives / socialists here on what is a primarily a speculation forum

... for a libertarian cryptoanarchist project.

Perplexing isn’t it..

Screw governments, screw taxes, and I like my steaks fresh, thick, and rare..

Oh, and we need more CO2.. Our poor trees are almost starving..
And no China virus (not really a) vaccine jabs for me..

HODL

Bitcoin down 25% last week and this place is discussing meat.

Elsewhere, I see noobs chasing doge gains, buying safemoons, moonsafes and moon moons, while accounts from 2017 post on reddit, putting on their best grizzled veteran imitations and pontificating about dips, strong hands and hodling. They're not wrong, but I think this is what it must feel like to see your grandkids give a public lecture.

The price dipped by another 1K as I typed this and nobody here cares. We've been around for too long. I'd buy more if I wasn't all-in already.

Yeah...
I’m dumped almost a months wages of my fiat into Bitcoin on this dip..
I’m usually not even a buyer but I had money laying around and the dip looked so tasty..
Hoping it stops dipping now.. I’m tapped out..

Bought more 48,035

Is it gonna stop?
396  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 24, 2021, 04:56:12 PM
Some pretty convincing posts.. I’m not scared.. Hodling

Maybe buy some more somewhere in the 40s if I can catch it..
397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 23, 2021, 02:39:00 PM
Exactly, the higher the taxes, the more avoidance. Also, a wealth taxes is outright confiscation and is against everything free democratic societies stand for. I don't know where you live but I'm guessing there are not a lot of rich people there.
Welcome to The Netherlands Tongue

It has it's benefits though: if your investment goes from almost nothing to a lot in a short amount of time, you barely pay any taxes on those gains.
But if it's the other way around, you still pay taxes.

Free democratic societies don’t stand for fuck all except for mob rule by low IQ selfish ignorant morons..
Free?
More than half of citizens will vote away their free speech and right to bear arms for FREE shit and to counter their phony lie of “racism”..

Democracy is a mistake with an uneducated citizenry..
Most people shouldn’t have the right to vote at all..

It’s a fucking joke.. Democracy=free my ass..

“Democracy” will confiscate your guns all day long, confiscate your money if you work your ass off to not be poor, confiscate your words so others aren’t offended..
On and on..

3rd world fuckbrains with no loyalty to liberty and principles of individualism have taken over the polls.. They are only loyal to themselves and will run all of our countries right into the ground for instant gratification..
Exactly what THEY want..

Have an escape plan.. The west is over..

Democracy lmao

Whoaza!!!!!  that does look pretty scary for both.  I would not feel too comfortable with the panicking guy grabbing my leg, even if I were to be tethered.

When my Step grandmother was drowning (She couldn't swim and was bouncing around the ledge when she slipped toward the center) I dove in and got under her and pushed her up and tried to get her to the side of the pool (it was a 28 foot round with 4ft on the edge dropping to 7ft in the center) and she was acting just like that guy literally holding me and trying to stand on me without letting me get away. She was a few hundred pounds and I was probably all of 60lbs (skinny 10yr old). Luckily my mother was looking out the window and ran out and dragged her off me while i was holding her above water and running out of breath or I wouldn't be typing this.

Its amazing how easily some people panic!

I basically got drowned like that by a mentally handicapped kid about twice my size when I was young..
Like out of body experience drowned almost died..

He held me under forever using me as a floaty and then finally put his feet on my shoulders and kicked me way down under water which I managed to swim up and away from him afterward..

Thought I was dead..

I bought a bunch more high 53s to low 54s..

Possibly short term/play money..
Might just HODL it forever who knows, but the end of dips would be nice to see for me now..
