381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 11, 2024, 06:41:00 PM
Since people know Arsenal as a strong team in this season, I believe victory is sure for Arsenal to achieve  from Porto that will make others team to be afraid of them in this season because, they embraced new opportunity to take the first position from Liverpool in the premier league table and it will give them more strength to face Porto to disgrace them with many goals in this meeting.
The champions league is a whole different ball game, and no team should be written off!!!

Let's not forget that not too long ago in the first leg , we all thought it would be a walk in the park for high scoring Arsenal but instead not only did they lose this match but failed to score... meaning if Porto defend like they did, then they could actually knockout the EPL leaders out of this competition and it's very much possible!!

And analysing this must win game for Arsenal, am thinking these guys will leave a lot of room at the back meaning a simple counter will allow Porto to put this  game to bed early and it won't be a pretty sight.

Atletico Madrid coach have to wake up from sleep to do what will make his players to return back to their good performance, so that people will begin to believe in them in this UEFA champions league and predict for their favour.

Too late for that, Atletico Madrid seems to have lost their form and this fixture will not do them any good...I see them packing their bags for sure!!!

383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 11, 2024, 12:53:18 PM
Drake thought Francis Ngannou would win but Anthony Joshua knocked out Ngannou in the second round of the match of the heavyweight showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Drake lost $615000.

https://www.thecable.ng/drake-loses-615k-bet-on-joshua-ngannous-bout/amp?/drake-loses-615k-bet-on-joshua-ngannous-bout
If you are going to bet, don't bet based on emotions or certain attachments!

Something I have noticed about drake is the tendency to back his friends or people he relates to...saw this trend with the style bender and if he continues on this path then his likely to lose even more money than his already done!

Piece of advice, don't use emotions in this industry...If you feel your buddy isn't good enough for the match do bet against them just don't tell them about the wager as you might lose a friend...
384  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Take Profits! Its important! on: March 10, 2024, 08:06:23 PM
When we are at Extreme Greed you need to be taking some profit off the table. Most people in crypto fail to keep the money they've made. They either sell too late or they selfishly watch all profits fall back to zero.
I don't think this theory of selling whenever a profit is available is practical for everyone because people own crypto for different reasons, say for example inheritance for their kids or family, or use it as a way to counter inflation or probably og believer of cryptocurrencies...

This whole notion of getting profits out aren't for everyone unfortunately,if you can do do and if you can't keep holding.

I've seen this happening each cycle.

We all need to understand that 1st priority in crypto is surviving. Profits are in 2nd place. Yes that sounds counterintuitive, but it's really simple. The real skill is not in making money. The real skill is in keeping it.

I hope you found this useful. Keep up the flow, and may the force be with you.
I guess this message fits in well for traders such as those involved in leveraged trading, or charting and I agree with this.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: March 10, 2024, 02:40:29 PM
Aston Villa is putting on a very poor performance right now , especially that they are playing from Villa Park I really expected goals from both sides, but unfortunately it's a one sided affair in favour  of  Tottenham and the red card could have made things even tougher for a team I considered to be in very good form of late!! Btw, does Aston Villa even have any shot on target, ouch it's that bad!!!

It was relieving for me to see Salah entering Liverpool's last match in the second half.  Smiley  Because I'm a Liverpool fan today.  Cool  This is a very crucial match to make a big impact on the championship. I hope to see the champion being Liverpool or Arsenal this season.
Manchester City disagrees!!! The lads in the city camp are very much hungry to collect another title to their name as they play catch up in terms of number of titles got by all EPL teams...

And that Liverpool City game, let's not run away from the inevitable...City are winning this game no doubt  Roll Eyes

Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ?  Is there chance of major correction from here as prices have already peaked now.
Investors will never take the risk of investing in crypto when risk is high such as legality is in question, or if security of coins has to be undertaken by them which was a big ask...but with spot ETF's these remove the risk of losing Bitcoin if a hack was to happen and for price to soar and break the ATH, institutional investors we a must have in the picture and they are very much in it at the right time as potential of price to go up is still high.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 09, 2024, 06:27:43 PM
High flying Arsenal seem to be finding it difficult to break down the bees 🐝 atm and playing at the Emirates stadium didn't see Brentford getting a goal here tbh, but first half its 1-1 a result many might  have not expected and with the second half coming am expecting the Gunners to come guns blazing... almost forgot these guys have champions league duty next week and am guessing this is the reason for the reserved  game play because  they will try to reserve their top guys for next week and Arteta will soon be substituting out the likes of Saka very soon unless he change's the script now.

Inplay prediction Arsenal 3-1 Brentford

Well, the first half came with Arsenal dominating the match and scoring a goal, until the goalie, Aaron allowed Wissa close him down to cause a goal. Am sure the second half would have more goals because this first half result is very unacceptable if they intend to win the premier league this season.

These are the kind of game's that hurt Arsenal for the title chase and am guessing City and Liverpool are thanking Brentford for this service, otherwise this game need a goal from the visitors to bring it alive, let's go Gunners!!

389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: March 09, 2024, 06:09:03 PM
I find this hilarious but it's actually very true!

And I think this has everything to do with our mentality which changes when we are risky more but when it comes to small bets it's like we play with more freedom which is the reason for the wins...but if we win more with smaller bets why not stick to them as they add up in terms of ROI and it's a good risk management approach .

Btw, sometimes betting big and losing just shows how much of greed we have which could be the reason for losing...let's just find the best bet size to optimise our risk appetite.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does any meme coin has the ability to challenge bitcoin dominance ? on: March 09, 2024, 04:56:13 PM
I think the most hyped meme coin I have ever experienced was Dogecoin when Elon Musk talked alot about cryptocurrencies, but unfortunately it lacks the numbers and popularity for it to challenge Bitcoin, and when we talk about challenging BTC this also means being number 2 and also means displacing Ethereum which hasn't happened for the longest time... And as far as I know, people don't take meme coins as a serious investment as they lack the liquidity to push it up... perhaps before trying to challenge BTc let it fight it out with Shiba inu another meme coin... For now all Altcoins remain second best.
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does possessing information play an important role in betting ? on: March 09, 2024, 03:32:28 PM
Of course information is needed for you to succeed in gambling!

As a matter of fact, it's through this information  that helps formulate a strategy for you to give yourself a winning chance...if it's sports gambling information is very vital to give yourself an edge over the markets..say you have information regarding key players not to play a certain fixture, then this tells you this said team won't be as strong as they would be with their key player...if it's slots, you would know that through favourable RTP, if you have say 300 spins then by probability the slots will pay for sure and it's all through information.

You have to be specific with what type of gambling you are talking here... I pressume that it's sports betting, right?

Possessing information is a must but it does not guarantee that you'll win with the information you have.
Totally agree, which is why with this information it does raise your winning probability by far... which is why several of these websites with sporting information remain relevant for gamblers to use to their advantage.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: Banking on people's ideas, visions, and talents. on: March 09, 2024, 02:15:12 PM
Have you ever met individuals with insane and brilliant ideas that got you wondering, how come he knows all this and it's not even reflected in his life? Some could give you real business ideas that could change a whole generation but that's all they can do, they can't bring it to reality and all their ideas only end on the discussion ground and never come to life.
I have met such type of people several times, and I believe the reasons for not going with these brilliant ideas boarders around not having the finances that don't get these ideas actualized, sometimes it's purely procrastination , sometimes they settle for the easier stuff and are comfortable with the small monies they get paid, sometimes it's lack of belief in themselves!!

I've met some of them and I must say, they are the backbone of so many successful businesses. Always with brilliant solutions to hands-on problems but can't put things together all by themselves to create a company of their own.
Guess everyone needs a backbone to have something work for you.

I believe nature is fair to all and while it gives some people that quality, others can bank from these brilliant ideas and bring it all to reality by supporting the ideas with the needed finance, resources, and coordination required to have a successful firm.

What do you think?
Agreed, you can't have everything or rather a short coming will always be there and to succeed you need someone to compliment your efforts which is how life balances itself up.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: March 09, 2024, 01:06:14 PM
Manchester City leading early against Everton is interesting to see especially without their front man Hojlund , but unfortunately we all know the drill here...United score early then go to sleep and let the other team come at them and before you know it the game gets tied and possibly get behind..but hoping they prove me wrong here especially that their Manager is also hanging on some thin thread!!

But so far they are going great with Garnacho doing some damage with his quick feet winning United two penalties..it's insane  Cool

Rashford scores  Grin

I think Aston Villa won't lose home. They are in good shape again recently and Watkins' improvement is also helpful.  Smiley
Aston villa are a great time this season and that front lead by Watkins  is doing some wonders and I expect this game to have goals, say not less than 3 goal's !!

395  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anxiety in trading (heart disease) on: March 09, 2024, 12:18:29 PM
I don't know about this one, isn't having an emotional experience part of the human biology?? I feel  the trading  emotional experience isn't any different  from say being fired at work, or say getting rejected by the love of your life and these are feelings you can not run away from, so heart disease has a lot of other obvious factors to do with it such as diet, family history etc, otherwise this needs medical personnel to explain this one

Trading cannot be considered a full-time job, and you do not need to be connected to the Internet to trade, so there is no reason for you to think a lot about trading
On the contrary, we do have people that treat trading as a full time job because it pays their Bills and they have perfected their skills for it which allows them to be profitable.

The judgment on Ten Hag's treatment of Ronaldo should not be based solely on sentiment. Ronaldo's actions, including missing preseason and allowing his agent to create pressure, were disrespectful. His return caused a shift in the club's direction, impacting Ole's job. Man United's real need was a younger striker, defensive midfielder, and center back, not Ronaldo's return. His presence overshadowed the teams needs, impacting its performance.

From the beginning of his planned arrival to Man United, I had doubts. EPL with the characteristic of fast play makes it difficult for him to be a player in old age. This is because he is old, besides that the supporting factor (team) cannot provide dominance. If it is a defender, Man United's midfield is the same as Man City, it will be different. I think his departure was right, Ronaldo returned to Man United because indeed he felt confident that he could help. He seemed to be still loyal to Man Unites at that time. Because I heard that he also had an offer from Man City before joining Man United.
Whatever happened, Ronaldo is history and all these rumours of him returning are wishful thinking because we all know what happens with returning players after a blissful career...it's never a pretty affair and the Ronaldo effect will overshadow the team which we don't need right now, if the manager is to make things right let him stop scouting for players from the same camp (Ajax).

Barcelona will still be hunting for free players this summer and this time their target is Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Bayern Munich. His contract will end in June 2024 and at that time he will be a free agent.
Not a bad buy if Bayern let go, but thinking in the business lines they better get something off him then let him go as a free agent and I think they will try get another 2years or so

398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 08, 2024, 11:59:21 PM
This is an opportunity for Manchester City to top the Premier League table if they can beat Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield.
I think this should be an easy one for Manchester City considering the two top men for Liverpool had knocks some weeks back and will probably be trying to find their feet again , unlike City who have KDB, Foden and Halaad all in form which will make it difficult for the Reds to win even with the return of Salah...

And City knowing very well that a win against the Reds will take them top of the log, Pep will surely want to field a strong team just to make sure the job gets done!

My prediction City 2-0 Liverpool
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indirect victims of gambling addiction on: March 07, 2024, 07:12:24 PM
Totally agree with all what's written in the OP, but there is one basic rule about gambling that will prevent one from going to this length, and it's called " gambling with money you can afford to lose!"
The main reason this is said to everyone is to ensure you don't have any regrets that can spill over to broken relationships with family and friends, suicides, debt etc But then again, sometimes I think society can be to judgemental such that a person that needs help with their addiction will shy away from getting it because gambling is something that is sometimes frowned upon depending on where you come from.

Otherwise other indirect effects of gambling addiction
  • drop in productivity
  • loss of skilled labour, should a gifted person commit suicide
  • creates introverts
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Pattern that 99.9% Leads to Bankruptcy: High Rolling on Slots! on: March 06, 2024, 05:56:00 PM
Greed the reason for all losses!!

Anyway, having researched on how to play slots efficiently without blowing your bank balance requires one to have a strategy in the first place! Anybody going to play slots without a strategy is guaranteed to Fail and this is also part of risk management AFAIK.

Like the OPs approach of playing slots with a starting wager of $0.1 tells me they have a strategy, don't look at the small wins as making less money...in the world of slots 'less is more" meaning with time RTP favours the player and you need to know when to increase the wagers.

High rolling in slots is quite dumb in my opinion, since the probability of hitting the x100+ multiplier is too low. Thus, the most feasible strategy is to maximize your number of spins instead of going for YOLO. Thus, if you REALLY need to do martingale shit or progressive betting for whatever dumb reason, 5x from your usual bet is your maximum.
Well elaborated!!

This whole go big or go home approach is what fails many when it comes to slots, and many players are shortsighted thinking they can win in a few spins, when slots reward players handsomely for playing the long game.

Perhaps gamblers need a refresher course to turn losing rolls to winning one's  Cool
