401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Steneum Coin (STN) Speculation Thread on: January 12, 2018, 03:18:07 PM
I did a search and didn't see a speculation thread for Steneum Coin (STN):

CoinMarketCap:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/steneum-coin/

Listed on Cryptpopia:

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=STN_BTC

It's 200% up on Cryptopia some think it will go 5x.

I'm not clear to be honest so I started this thread to get some feedback.

What do you think? (and why)? ((don't forget the why))

Seems like PnD really, look at what happened to RegalCoin and I think Bitconnect is next, its not doing well anymore after governments are pushing to look into the practices of Bitconnect.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: They regret because they did not believe my post on: January 12, 2018, 03:15:41 PM
For BLUE already done price now $1.12

Next is ECASH, price now $0.04

Then next is NEO GOLD, price now $0.01

I remember this when they did not believe and now lost the opportunity

Here is the link of that history
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2709785

Blue really does something, NEO GOLD and ECASH both sound like scams that don't add any value. I must agree though, I got told to buy BLUE at 0.01 cents but forgot. I should start making notes cause I forget to much...

Blockchain 2050 and the world of the future - Are you ready for this? Really

The world is not a victorious Blockchain

Let's look into the future, in which Blockchain won an unconditional and comprehensive victory over ... well, over all those whom he must defeat.

2050 year AD

Yu. N. can hear the alarm clock, quickly go to work, take hold of the door handle, but ... the door does not open. The staircase of the house in which N.'s apartment is located belongs to the housing and communal services of the Company No. 5, for the use of it, as well as for the right to use the elevator and the right to be in the entrance, it is necessary to pay, such are the terms of the smart contract - the housing complex contains the house in perfect condition and the tenant pays . Three delays - Blockchain-lock automatically locks the door. If you do not want to pay, stay at home... More

Sounds more like IoT and not blockchain honestly...
405  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should Europe repay Africa for Slavery on: January 12, 2018, 12:04:27 AM
Do you honestly believe that European countries should pay reparations to African countries for the sins of Slavery ?

No, for instance, you can't hold me accountable for something my forefathers did.

Should every country that has been at war with another country start paying reparations?

Also anyone who believes Europe should obviously ignores that africans sold their own kind out to white slave traders. So their forefathers themselves are guilty aswell.. some might not like to hear this but its the truth. So no I don't really care, if you are pro reparations you are only promoting racism, saying its a white v black thing whilst blacks were equally involved in this trade and made money on it aswell.

If they do get reperations I would like reperations from the Vatican for the pieces of papers they sold to my forefathers saying that god would forgive their sins and they'd get into heaven. I would also like reperations for the crusades that were organised in the name of the Vatican to their own benefit and further their selfish agenda of more power.

I would also like reperations from the Spanish for invading my country and plundering it and massacring + robbing protestants based on their religious beliefs.

Yeah.. see where this is going? This whole reperations thing is fucking nonsense.
406  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which countries have zero taxation of Bitcoin revenues? on: January 11, 2018, 11:57:17 PM
I believe its a capital gains tax of 1,3% here in the netherlands, but really not sure. I hear some conflicting points.

I think any country that hasn't made up their mind on Cryptocurrency is basically tax free, I believe Belarus or something declared crypto tax free for the next 5 years.
407  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the best real use-cases of Crypto coins on: January 11, 2018, 11:47:28 PM
Hi,

Recently a lot of people asked me to help them join crypto.
But then, their second affirmation is: "hmm...but aren't we in a bubble? all this shitcoins and shitICOs that won't deliver and anyways, for what is it used event BTC? Only for storing value? That's it? People are buying and keeping it?"

In this regards, let's all contribute and mention real-life use-cases when you have used or would use crypto coins as the only/best way of solving that problem.

BTC is a P2P electronic cash system for which it currently isn't really suitable, Lightning Network should bring that back. On top of that it is a store of value, a sort of digital gold.

That ICOs aren't delivering on their promises isn't really BTC's fault. You should always be very carefull with ICOs, they are high risk. Perhaps the most high risk ''investments'' we have ever witnessed in history.

A lot of coins are in a bubble, most notable are:

IOTA - centralised, doesn't function and is worth billions.
Ripple - Centralised, doesn't actually get used by banks (nor do they intent to) and is worth a hundred billion
TRON  seems to be in a bubble
Bitconnect - ponzi

Likely, almost all altcoins are in a bubble. Bubbles aren't necessarily a bad thing though, the stock market moves in and out of them on a cyclic basis. You just have to be carefull.

And there are a lot more that are currently way overvalued. I think BTC isn't really under or overvalued where it currently stands as without lightning network it doesn't really function properly but still stands out from the rest of the market as a store of value with great longterm upside potential.

I personally do use BTC ocasionally for payments but recently I refrain from doing so because it doesn't make sense to purchase some take-away and pay a 10$ fee on a 20-30$ transaction.

Distributed ledger technology can also be usefull as a means of security, track & trace, logistics, supply chain etc.. the tokens are often a utility. The biggest usecase of DBT is as a currency but it has many usecases that can be applied to almost any industry.

You got to understand that yes, somethings are in a bubble. IOTA having a 10billion marketcap is in no way justified at all. Same goes for Ripple, TRON, Bitconnect and other crypto's.

But the real longterm focus is on BTC anyway, which to me isn't in a bubble nor does it even come close to being in a bubble. But that is only if we regard that future development will go smooth and solve issues of today.

Also I think you don't understand the importance of a store of value. In the western world we're kind of used to minor inflations each year and our paycheck grows with that but other less developed countries can't always count on this. Bitcoin makes a perfect store of value because it is weightless and thus easy to transport, not controlled by anyone, can be stored upon a small USB stick which you could hide anywhere unlike gold for example. And is easy to transact with. The fact that it is also deflationary as opposed to gold being inflationary makes it even better, it will retain and go up in value on the longterm as it is scarce and the supply is capped at a max. Gold will be worthless in a few hundred years from now because we already know that things like asteroids contain tenfolds, hundredfolds more precious metals than we have here on earth. (maybe we have identified our next major bubble, astro mining).

So for a lot of people Bitcoin can be essential.

Bitcoin is simple, it doesn't need a million usecases. You just need to be able to transact with it as a fundamental and naturally it is a store of value. No other coin will ever really achieve a status like BTC because it is a first mover, is widely accepted and regarded as THE COIN. I can only see BitcoinCash being a viable alternative for the solutions it currently offers that aren't available with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin should be able to reach a marketcap of several trillions of dollars, if it does decide to collapse now there's still a chance it grows beyond its ATH as we have seen with Apple and Amazon for example. But likely it will have to break 1 trillion marketcap for it to be taken seriously on an institutional level. If it can't grow into a trillion dollar asset class then the whole thing basically failed, but this last sentence is my personal opinion.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Block size - question on: January 11, 2018, 10:54:42 PM
So, i'm still relatively new to Bitcoin and I'm wondering, why isn't the blocksize limit raised for faster and cheaper transactions (scaling?). Can anyone provide some insight? I know this has been a much discussed topic and has left some ''scars'' on the community, but will someone explain it? Just for me ;3 ?
409  Economy / Speculation / Bears over Bulls? on: January 11, 2018, 10:19:43 PM
Are we entering a bear market? Or are we already in it? Is this depression temporarily because of the bullrun we've witnessed in alts recently? Or will it last a while?

Would love to hear some thoughts and opinions.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bob's repair - unprofessional on: January 11, 2018, 07:30:41 PM
Just got banned from Bob's repair telegram for asking if they did market research to proof interest in their project, I also asked how they see people like my mother purchase these tokens from an exchange (which she absolutely can't) when thats their targeted audience.

They told me: Blockchain is the future and It cuts down middleman costs
Not that people will gladly pay extra if there's conveinience involved which is absolutely absent from their entire business model.

I called them out that thats just an empty phrase and doesn't proof anything that it will actually get used.

They then started deleting my messages and banned me.

How professional...
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockexplorer - BTC and BCH on: January 10, 2018, 06:16:01 PM
well its id they are giving priority ot BCH , as it it growing fast and BTC is not going more up, but changing the names of the cyrptocurency? i dont understand this..

Well how would you explain to someone new he/she has to pay a 20$ fee on a 100$ transaction?
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockexplorer - BTC and BCH on: January 10, 2018, 06:02:30 PM
I respect their decision to give more importance to BCH, but I don't think they have the right to change names to cryptocurrencies. Who are they to decide to call Bitcoin Cash Bitcoin and Bitcoin Bitcoin Legacy?!? This will create huge confusion in the market and it smells like a poor attempt to influence the exchange rate in favor of a coin that, most likely, they are heavily invested in.

I think anyone in this space that is concerned about BTC or BCH is heavily invested. I don't think thats the point anymore, the point is; what actually works? Why would anyone want to use BTC if it keeps going like this? BTC became big because you own your wealth and you can trade that wealth P2P without middleman keeping costs down and speed high. If it can't do that, and doesn't want to live up to that then whats the point in using it at all? Because everyone thinks the price can still go tenfold? Sorry to break it but then you're just in a ponzi scheme. Hoping to dump your unusuable crap onto someone else for a profit.

413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Blockexplorer - BTC and BCH on: January 10, 2018, 05:54:35 PM
So blockexplorer put a notice on their website

How do you guys feel about this? I kind of agree, I have some sentiment towards BTC but it is obvious that the situation is rather dire. I'm fed up with high transaction fees and long waiting times when they could easily improve on this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvpD3iF9DCA&feature=youtu.be

Also I think Rick has a good point, my only real concern as I don't really care about the BTC v BCH battle, I think I speak for any user in the end who just wants whatever works, is that the altcoin market can be drastically affected by this, or maybe Ethereum can stand its ground in this? But that's only if this really gets taken serious by a majority of BTC holders/users.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BEST ICO for 2018 on: January 10, 2018, 04:21:40 PM
For me the best ICO of 2018 are:

#1 Nucleus Vision

I don't really understand what the hype is behind Nucleus Vision, I personally would never use it.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How could we further disassociate altcoins from Bitcoin? on: January 10, 2018, 04:15:19 PM
Seems like every time Bitcoin goes stale or down slightly, altcoins follow the same trend and then the whole market is down for a while.

Would new payment gateways and further news exposure get us out of this cycle or are altcoins going to be stuck to the swinging of Bitcoin forever?

Well when I look at a lot of coins now, the USD value is down but the sat price = equal, only down a minor 1% or is increasing. Meaning that the altcoins aren't affected that much but since you can't trade fiat/altcoins (only a few) they will always be affected by Bitcoin in terms of paper money evaluation. Only way to solve this is introducing new trading pairs. But I think this market doesn't have the liquidity for that yet.

Hm.. are we seeing a gap in the market?
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Civic(CVC) grow? on: January 10, 2018, 04:12:59 PM
I have friends who are in love with Civic but I personally don't see anything that differentiates it or makes it worth buying.  I'd love to hear one solid reasons as to why it stands out nd isn't just another coin.

I think they are doing something with KYC, with the upcoming expansion of the ICO market it could play a fundamental role and thus be a good investment
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitconnectX ICO overpriced? on: January 10, 2018, 04:10:06 PM
Hi everyone,

As far as I understand they will be making an exchange similar to Binance and the equivalent to (BNB) will be their Bitconnectx coin.
1 BCCX = $50. Isn't that too aggressive for an ICO? a red flag?. Also I was considering lending some BCC on Bitconnect, Do you think this BitconnectX affects the lending system?

PS: I'm new in this crypto-world, apologies if anything I said doesn't make sense Smiley

Problem is that the risk is insane, they could be launching this ICO just to pay off new investors..
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bye bye ICOs and hello exchange tokens on: January 10, 2018, 04:01:36 PM
Is it me or does it look like exchange tokens are going to be an in thing in the cryptospace in 2018? We now have Binance coin, kucoin shares,  CryptopiaFeeShares coin. What is next? Are these worth it compared to other coins not associated with exchanges?

If you can get 30k returns every year on 500 coins and the token is 10$ then its undervalued. But all of these exchanges can decide at any time to change their dividend rates. So whilst it may be luring at first to bring in customers with high dividends, once they have an active group of traders on their platform they can just start lowering the dividend pay out.

I think any token that offers a good value proposition is worth it. Whether it gives dividends or not.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum transaction fees (please enlighten me) on: January 10, 2018, 03:57:22 PM
Does anyone know if Ethereum have any upcoming, uhm, improvements to lower transaction fees?

With all these ERC20 tokens getting added all the time, won't all of them be useless if transaction fees continue to rise?
For instance, take AppCoins. You are supposed to be able to fill your phone with these coins, then buy in-app purchases with them.

But let's say you want to buy a $2.99 gem-pack or whatever, but instead you will use 1 APPC,won't that be useless then? Since transaction fees are can sometimes be as high as this..
Please enlighten me, thanks in advance.

Yeah I think they will have an update called plasma which should providing scaling and thus bring down transaction feeds and improve tx/s
420  Local / Markt / Ik koop UTN (Universa) Tokens on: January 09, 2018, 04:22:37 PM
