401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Easy way to explain and teach Bitcoin on: November 05, 2017, 03:04:15 AM
I'd really just suggest the video to kids because kids don't want to read text they want a Youtube video to learn. I know I do lol!

It does sound good though. I think all those years of dumbing it down for people has finally given you a great answer. I still get tongue tied trying it to explain it to people. I just end up saying they need to do their own research and read a lot. Not my fauly if they don't invest lol. I'm not pushing people into anything because then it would be "my fault" if they lost money. I'm in for the long haul and love the tech and the whole idea behind it, I care about the price but it's a really handy side affect and not the sole reason to use crypto.

I think that's the biggest hurdle people need to get over. Why do they need it and not how does it work. I don't have a clue how my microwave works, but I know it'll heat up my pizza pocket from frozen to done in 2 minutes Vs my oven that would take ... Idk a long time because I've never used an oven to cook a pizza pocket hahaha! At some point there will be a generation that has never used fiat.

Think about that! Put that in your pipe and smoke it Jamie Dimon!!!
402  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did I make the right decision? on: November 05, 2017, 02:58:56 AM
Lol no one here is going to know the answer. No one can predict the future. If it turns out to be a scam ICO with no tech then you're screwed and if it turns out it actually has some sort of intrinsic value once their product is actually up and running then you can make bank. It's a crap shoot. Keep your investments small and never expect returns like from investing in bitcoin in 2010. There are 1000s of options now, whereas back then there was 1 and no one knew about it. It's not the same ecosystem at all. We're talking about a book club vs. a small country. Not even remotely the same idea.
403  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Difference between SegWit addresses on: November 05, 2017, 02:53:34 AM
The public key hash for a bech32 address can also be a 256 bit value, but only for P2WSH addresses. These will have a larger number of possible addresses.

Correct.  bech32 P2WSH addresses are about 20 characters longer than bech32 P2WPKH addresses.

That's actually pretty great! I have been trying to read up on this but it's pretty confusing for us non technical folks. I'll wrap my head around it one of these days. Once I do I'll start to try and use the bech32 addresses just to get used to them and go from there.
404  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Help me! I have transferred btc to my wallet address on btc-e.com on: November 05, 2017, 02:49:26 AM
Thanks you!CoinOverlord , HCP!

I just wanted to point out that either way you might as well contact the new support and ask them if it's possible. The worst they can say is no. The best they can say might be "We'll look into it" though. It's worth a shot.

I hope it wasn't anything too substantial!
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sangus Rating Token [AIRDROP] on: November 05, 2017, 02:45:14 AM
website states: "Alert: Sangus has been the victim of an Airdrop scam. Please do not donate or provide information"
twitter also has this. https://twitter.com/SangusOrg/status/926917959393730560

so is this the real deal or what?

Lol well that was quick. Go ahead and lock the thread @OP. You got outed. Go back and sit on your dirt floor to think of another crappy scam that won't pan out to anything. Once a few of those fail you'll be forced to get a real job.
406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best coin to buy today? on: November 05, 2017, 02:43:26 AM
I noticed that the vertcoin always rebound to 40k, easy to get 20-30% each time.

Too bad it has literally no use. What an utter shitcoin.

Invest in something that has a future like Monero, Dash for anonymity or a token for a card like TenX or Monaco. A DEX is also a good idea to invest in. There are lots coming out soon so idk which one. Oh and anything that's "quantum resistant" couldn't hurt to put a small percentage in.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who wants to be a Bitcoin Millionaire?! on: November 05, 2017, 02:39:35 AM
I have quite a while to go until a million. I also have quite a while to go until, say, 100k. Let's take one step at a time man. Some of us have only been here like 2 years and we weren't around to collect as many Bitcoins as we should have back then! I sucks looking back and thinking, "if I wasn't such a stupid newbie I could have made a killing". Stupid faucets!
408  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-05] Blockchain becoming the rage at US business schools on: November 05, 2017, 02:37:09 AM
I wish there was a course on Bitcoin when I was in school. Maybe I'll have to go back! This sounds pretty great! I'd be more inclined to enroll in a course that teaches the math behind everything. That would be so interesting I couldn't pass it up! I hope they aren't just giving some basic knowledge on it but they really go in depth.
409  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-01] Samsung Turned Its Smartphone Into a Bitcoin Mining Rig on: November 05, 2017, 02:32:35 AM
Mmmmk so what's the point though? You'll melt an old phone's CPU and get a dollar worth of Bitcoins for it. Great. Why not just sell your phone and buy an outdated ASIC? You'd get 10,000x the hashing power for the same amount of electricity.
410  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much BTC will fall in 3 days after Segwit2x fork in November? on: November 05, 2017, 02:27:15 AM
I doubt it will be more than 10%, if there is even a dip of that much. It's overhyped and I just don't think there will be two big chains. It'll be one monster chain and a little one.
411  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Other Bitcoin forum on: November 05, 2017, 02:16:06 AM
This one: http://crypto-forums.net

I have already withdrawn some satoshis directly to FaucetHub.io (minimum payout is 5000 satoshis).

What the hell? He's not looking for a faucet he's looking for a forum. He won't find anything better than bitcointalk though. I've tried them all and this is the only one worthwhile.
412  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think Bitcoin Price will be in next 3years ? on: November 04, 2017, 03:26:16 AM
$81,268USD on November 3rd. I guarantee it.

... What the hell is the point in trying to predict it? Seriously. You think someone smarter will figure it out? If anyone knew they would leverage the hell of of that, make bank and never tell you anything. Roll some dice. That's how much it could be worth. Now divide that by 10000. It could also be worth that in 3 years.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is the bitcoin price determined? on: November 04, 2017, 03:19:19 AM
Uh well champ, let's not get into the whole supply and demand curve here but basically, more people want bitcoin, so they pay $1 more than the next guy to get it. It creates a snowball affect. People see the big rise, they put an order $1 more, other people see this big ride etc. Glad I got in at a low point. Too much FOMO right now that I wouldn't want to put money into it.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ***WHERE THE HELL IS MY BITCOIN GOLD*** on: November 04, 2017, 03:15:11 AM
Lol scammed? Fucking newbies I tell you.

K so do you know what a fork is? Did you know this has happened before? Did you know there where MANY unsuccessful forks in the past?

There's no wallet. There's no blockchain. It's pre-mined for crying out loud. Do you really think this is going to be worth anything at all? Also, who scammed you!? Technically you still have your shitcoin.

Omg. So delusional.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Silver: December hard fork on: November 04, 2017, 03:05:58 AM
Yeah true, at least they're starting with a 140gb blockchain. I wish them good luck with that freaking mess. I wonder if they will have a wallet or if they'll be like bitcoin gold and never get off the ground haha.
416  Economy / Economics / Re: How to train your money for costly bitcoin? on: November 04, 2017, 03:01:53 AM
Idk, do you feel like your stack is big enough? Do you feel like we're going to go higher over the long term? Buys every two weeks or months (dollar cost averaging) is the smartest thing you can do to mitigate your risk. It's a good investment strategy.
417  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bittrex is Holding My Funds - Support Not Answering - Bittrex SCAM on: November 04, 2017, 02:57:27 AM
Huh shit. I had just done a trade and I'd better get the hell out of there. I don't even remember if I had anything else on there. Probably not, but still. I can't believe I didn't see all this news sooner. Hopefully they're just under pressure to close accounts due to fraud or some crap and not just closing them for strange unknown reasons like the articles say. I'm sure there's some sort of reason. Idk what it would be other than they're banning scammers and suspected scammers.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Silver: December hard fork on: November 04, 2017, 02:47:49 AM
Hahahahahaha their slogan should be "and you thought bitcoin gold was a joke? Try bitcoin silver." Next to come is pewter, brass and copper. These stupid forks just keep getting shittier and shittier. Do they even have a reason to fork at this point? What are they against!?!?
419  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are other forums for discussing bitcoin? on: November 04, 2017, 02:45:01 AM
Uh reddit I guess? You don't walk into McDonalds and ask them for directions to Burger King. You're at the best forum for Bitcoin talk. What do you think you're missing here that you'd get somewhere else? Is 1,000,000 users not enough!?
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who here lives on crypto currency daily? on: November 04, 2017, 02:43:15 AM
I hope you have a backup card. I've seen so many crypto cards come and go. Lots more coming out lately too.

I can't use crypto to purchase anything locally. It's ridiculous. Oh well, when I can spend it here someday at least I'll be a bigshot.
