421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 02, 2024, 11:11:58 PM
Good lord this thread was buried 4 pages deep today..a sign of the season coming to an end which legitimately does make me sad lol.  I'm kind of like Hunter S Thompson in this way (very famous author, wrote Fear and Loathing Los Vegas and others).

Anyways you guys been seeing all this stuff about Caleb Williams and my Bears?  Man I swear if he forces his way out of Chicago I will lose my mind.  I won't have rooted against someone more in my life.  I think that kid is going to be beyond special.

"Too weird to live, too rare to die".  Love that movie!

Yeah football almost over sad times Sad  with that being said I'm looking forward to this superbowl ypu know why Smiley

On the draft I don't even know if Caleb is gonna be the best qb out of the bunch.  I'm kinda liking the kid out of LSU.  What does Chicago do with Justin fields?  I mean he would nab ypu some draft capital but he looks decent enough to build around too no?

I tossed a couple bucks on the Los Angeles Lakers to beat the Boston Celtics tonight. I don’t actually think they’re going to win but the game is on TV tonight and I might tune in to watch it so I wanted some skin in the game. The odds are crazy so it seemed like the bet to make. I don’t expect to win but I do hope it keeps me entertained watching the game.

I'm on the same boat.  Lakers in prime time won't get blown out.  Bron will turn the screws and keep it close.  Not touching the Knicks game, taking Memphis at home -8.5 (that's a lot to give), and I'm taking Philly +4.5 on the road without embid.  Enjoy the games tonight peeps!

3-0 last night for a clean sweep.  Tonight I am uncharacteristically taking 5 road favorites.

First gimme the Clippers-12.5 against Detroit.  Clips are rolling expect them to destroy

Second gimme Suns-3.5 against the Hawks.  Think this is where Suns start making a move to the front of the pack in the west

Third.  Gimme Miami-7.5 against the wiz.  Mia.i always wins games like these they should roll

Fourth gimme sacramento -3.5 against Pacers.  Siakam and haliburton are on minutes restrictions and second game of a back to back and they just flew home.  Sac rolls here in a blowout.

Fifth amd they are underdogs, gimme Toronto +4.5 on the road in Houston.  This is my least favorite bet but I'm riding it.

I don't know what angle you are aiming for but I guess you have a point?  I mean do you go to the grocery store, if so you are more vulnerable to sickness than a brick and mortar.  I can also argue it might be better for your mental health to be out in public vs in what probably amounts to you sitting down for hours which isn't healthy for your weight, etc.  Pros and cons of each but I would say online gambling is great for access but for health benefits that's a stretch.

Size small, so this auction should be a quick win for us Europeans Tongue

I don't know it would make a nice looking Bib for me.  Watching.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC likely to approve spot Ethereum ETFs on May 23 on: February 01, 2024, 08:47:37 PM
I'd be skeptical of that actually happening.  It's taken a long time for bitcoin to get over the hump.  The way the SEC and government regulations take forever and a day I'd say it would be years away.  A couple months after bitcoin getting approved I bet they want to see what happens before opening the altcoin floodgates into the mainstream.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do low fees matter most in choosing crypto platforms, or other factors? on: February 01, 2024, 08:46:01 PM
That's one of the factors.  Liquidity is important but security is the biggest in my eyes.  How many issues over the years with securing customer funds we've seen scares me.  I'd pay a little more in fees knowing I'm using an exchange that is at least legit for some time and has a proven track record.  I'd rather lose a little than lose it all.

Lebron and Davis is back to Boston. Lakers are 0-3 on their last 3 games at this venue. Plus the Lakers are struggling on the road with 2 straight losses already. First, loss to Houston by 16 points, and last, loss to Atlanta by 16 points also. What can we expect from the Lakers in this game where they'll play a much tougher team with a very impressive home record?

As per report, Lebron and AD are both listed as questionable, but I bet they'll play.

Funny enough is that I fully expect the Lakers to put on a show tonight.  Anytime lebron and AD get national air time they play different.  I don't expect them to win but I'm gonna throw down. Some sheckles on them keeping it close.  For some reason national TV and playoff games Bron just plays different.  I expect a 125-119 type of game.

And coming in sneaky secomd fun to watch is going to be the Knicks/Pacers.  Knicks are down OG, julius, big mitch and quentin grimes so Knicks are bare bones.  Will be good to see the represent tonight.
429  Economy / Collectibles / Re: SIMILAR TO BTCC POKER CHIP on: February 01, 2024, 08:07:32 PM
Love poker chips but not a fan of someone using the likeness of cas coins on their own, microsoul's replica with their logo, or something like this using "vires in numeris" which is up front and center on Mike's coins.  But to each their own, I'd be down for some if it didn't have that.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The saga of Match fixing/Rigged Sports and my take on sus games on Sportsbooks on: January 31, 2024, 11:43:28 PM
Reserved

Let me know of the sports or games on popular sportsbooks and casinos that you believe are rigged.

Not that it's exclusive to lower leagues but I tend to stay away from sports that ypu can bet on and the players themselves don't make good money.  Take college sports in the US, there has been plenty of scams there.  These kids don't make any money and are generally broke in the terms of how much money could sway them.  If it doesn't take a lot of cash to buy a player than I won't really bet on the sport all too much.  I stick to the major popular sports.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PEPE time to buy NOW? on: January 31, 2024, 11:40:48 PM
Older thread but do people really believe that memcoins will have another run?  When does a fad go parabolic, fall back and thrive again when the underlying token is useless.  These coins are all useless why would it have multiple runs in the thousands of percent?  Think about it.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bullish 2024 ! on: January 31, 2024, 11:38:54 PM
Currently many new projects with large funding raised are listed and it can be said that they are big projects because after listing some of them entered the top 50 of CMC. examples include APTOS ARBITRUM and SUI.
I mean, does the emergence of many new projects like this indicate that bullish is getting closer? What do you think ?

It's doesn't.  It just means more scammer are coming out of the woodworks and people are getting taken because they are blinded by theor own greed.  People need to stop and take a look around every once in awhile amd realize there can't be this many useful projects in the market at one time.  Most will fail.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 31, 2024, 11:36:26 PM
Raptors are really doing something special, they managed to get a great win. I understand that it may not be all that easy for them to get into playoffs and that will most likely will end with something that will not be all that great so it should be something that would benefit them one way or another.

I am feeling like it is going to be a bad year for them, and they will just tank eventually. They are both trying to tank but also failing to tank at the same time, which will make them not get a good draft pick. Look at Spurs and Pistons, they are tanking like true kings, I have never seen a team tank this well since Sixers did it during the "process" period, and now these two teams are having an all time fight for the bottom place.

It's not so much as tanking as they are bad.  If you've watched them play they didn't dump people to be bad, they are playing theor young players which in turn comes with a lot of losses.  No young team ever really does that great.  Philly was just playing the system.  Raptors have enough good players to win so.e but not enough to be good.  The worst place to be in for a team.

435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into? on: January 30, 2024, 10:19:21 PM
I wouldn't necessarily say one way or another.  There are terrible coins or tokens that are old, and that are new.  And vice versa some old and some new coins are decent projects.  I get the ask but you can't really categorize investments based on time around.  Just because something has been around for awhile does not mean they will be successful you can just slowly lose your money.  It happens all the time.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: January 30, 2024, 10:16:57 PM
That's probably one of the worst bad habits.  For one you can't likely perform well at work while being distracted with gambling.  You need to be able to separate these activities because that's what leads to addiction amd the bad side of gambling.  Separation is key to either success or enjoyment from gambling.
437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 30, 2024, 10:14:48 PM
A big winning streak at the middle of the season is a hard thing to achieve. Teams played roughly 48 or so games, so it's even over the half way limit, and that means teams will just be making sure that they are keeping their position and nothing more. So grinding hard to get that many wins, is not an easy thing to do at this point. Some teams are already tanking, some teams already guaranteed their playoff spot, so the only ones left fighting are the ones who are trying to get in and a little bit out.

I think it is lucky for Knicks, because having a big win streak at the start of the season is the hardest part, getting it now, and just 7 win nothing more is really not seen as that important for most teams and they will get knocked off during playoffs anyway.

These games are crazy important right now.  We aren't at the point of the season that these games don't mean anything.  They are 2 games away from second place in the east or 3 games out of the playin games right now.  I'd argue these games are much more important than the beginning of the season because you have time to change.  From now until march/April people are jockeying for home court in the playoffs or even just getting to the playoffs.  Too many times has the season come down to the last few games that determines playoff seedings to not take these games seriously.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 30, 2024, 10:09:44 PM
Hey, guys! Are any of you emotional gamblers who often lose because you can't control what you feel? When you lose, do you tend to double your bets or chase your losses, driven by a pride that can't accept defeat? Do you consider this a problem? If so, has anyone here been able to solve this kind of problem themselves, and if yes, how did you do it?

I have this problem, and based on my personal experience, I find that sometimes I get challenged but not too greedy because I don't have a problem quitting when I'm winning. However, when I'm losing, that's where my struggle lies.

That's why I shared it here; I feel that some of you may experience the same challenges, and I'd love to hear your ideas or experiences on how to win this battle so we can enjoy gambling.

You need to change your mindset to the fact that gambling can be a form of entertainment.  What I mean by that is that people pay hundreds of dollars to see a live sport or concert that ends in 2 hours.  You don't get upset that you "lost" all that money.  If you are enjoying yourself gambling than its the cost of entertaining yourself.  Obviously there needs to be some personal guidelines set.
439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 29, 2024, 11:59:34 PM
It is coming, the Golden State Warriors are looking for trades or any offers for Wiggins, CP3 and even Klay.

The first two are fine since Wiggins are really looking for a transfer and CP3 didn't stayed there for long. But for Klay? Okay, there is nothing he can do with it as it's always been Steph that they're eyeing for.

But we've seen some comments when Steph said if he's gonna be transferred, he'd like to do it with the Hornets.

I can't imagine anyone wanting out for Charlotte.  They are continually a terrible franchise and can't seem to figure out.  Not that I'm for guys front running but why would you want the other side of your career be with a team that can't stay out of the lottery.  That's gotta be a lie.
440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 28, 2024, 06:58:39 PM
It was a very entertaining game, and although the Warriors lose, you can see that the fans are very satisfied on what they are witnessing. Curry showed that he is still here as a superstar in the NBA, and he is clutch enough to sink a shot when it matters most. The spacing of the Warriors is good with Green playing, so maybe in the next few games we will see the Warriors bouncing back after this successive losses.

Lebron doesn't look old at all, he is a legend, playing 2 overtime with huge minutes and you can't even see on his face that he was already tired. Also, Davis is great, he is a tough one, I thought he will not come back anymore when he exited after a hard fall, but he came back and help his team like nothing happened to him. Also, we can commend the performance of D'lo, made 3 successive mistakes but made a 3 point shot that give them a go ahead score. overall the game is brilliant.
That's true. As a Warriors fan, I was actually amazed at their performance, I didn't also feel that they lost that game because the entertaining factor was so damn great.
The only thing I had after watching the game was the "What if?".
What if Klay was not fouled out?
What if Podiemzki didn't shoot that three-pointer and waited for Curry to receive the ball? Because I think he rushed it, he came from the bench so he is cold.
What if Wiggins was also not fouled out? It could've been him against Lebron and maybe a clean defense could happen.
All of that is what's left of me but I am not unhappy about their loss. It's actually the other way around because I see they became a team again on their last few games. They just need one more push or keep this tempo and maybe they will win their next game.

But, the Warriors' next game will be up against the 76ers. Embiid didn't play today against the Nuggets but I seriously doubt he will miss that game against the Warriors. Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey also did not play but it was not an easy win for the Nuggets. The 76ers bench did show some good fight today.

Yeah I guess a lot of what ifs but that's every nba game to some degree.  That was a crazy game and think even know it ended in a loss, golden state needed a game like that to get some toughness to them.  In trs of next game embid will definitely be playing.  With the new rules in the NBA embid can only miss 6 more games and then he won't be eligible for any of the post season awards and ypu know he is aiming at those too
