421  Economy / Reputation / Re: how to keep a positive account on: February 05, 2016, 03:36:01 PM
I'd say just follow rules of the forum, you can find them here: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

And also avoid things which are considered immoral by the community, I made a little list about that here: Things not against forum rules but frowned upon by community! (Beta!)

Apart from that think of the forum as your workplace/school/neighborhood, just behave as you would behave with your friends, neighbors, colleagues.
422  Other / Meta / Re: Talking/discussing to yourself/your own alt on: February 05, 2016, 03:21:07 PM
While not necessarily against the rules it's frowned upon but likely constitutes sig spam. I marked one of your reports as bad because all you left as a comment was a link to the alt thread which looked to me like you were just reporting alts (which would be a bad report). Someone else marked the others as bad it seems.
I see , and now my accuracy was down to 43%  Undecided Back to the topic, what will be the consequences that spammer will get?

Offtopic: Will there be also some consequences if ever my reporting accuracy will continue fell down to 1% ?

As he said that its frowned upon and if someone is caught doing that it will considered as sig spam and afaik that leads to temp/perma bans. Adding this to my list though, thanks for the suggestion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1333542.0

Not sure about the other question, if your accuracy gets too low then your reports might not be taken seriously. Mine is @90% with 195 posts, trying to improve it, though I sometime end up reporting things which I consider immoral and that reduces it.  Wink
423  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A new innovative concept of the search engine from India! on: February 05, 2016, 02:56:29 PM
So it's kinda like Bing rewards but with bitcoins, although the rewards are no way near that but still nice little way to earn a few satoshis per search and maybe they'll pile up and cover your Tx Fee for a transaction.
424  Other / Meta / Re: What's above Legendary? on: February 05, 2016, 02:13:40 PM
This discussion side tracked a little but I don't mind a special sub-forum for legendary members, I am sure I'll reach there some day, maybe allow Hero-Members there too for certain discussions, atleast people will post their opinion there without hiding behind newbie accounts.

Let's try a thread for legendary members only and call it "Land of Legends | No Trespassing" Cheesy

Wonder where you guys would make it though and what it will be about.
425  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Newb Question - Elecrtrum receive payment on: February 05, 2016, 01:49:49 PM
fingers crossed  Smiley

Can you tell me if i did the right process though. there is nothing more in electrum i would need to do?

If i right click on the recieveing address , there is an option to 'request payment' i didn't know if i needed to do that as well to make sure it got sent to it.

Total newb questions i know but there are quite a few bitcoins so important to get it right

thanks

Did the address you gave to Coinfloor is present in the "Addresses" tab? And you did not import any keys?

If the answer to both of above questions is "yes" then you don't need to worry as the coins should come to your wallet. Make sure you keep back up of the seed though, which is very important.

Do this, click on the History tab, you should see your Tx there, right click on it and select "view on block explorer" then it will open a tab in your browser and you can see your transaction there and if the fee is right or not.

If there is no tx there then Coinfloor hasn't sent you your coins yet.

I'm not experienced with Electrum, but from what I know I'm pretty sure you don't need to touch the request payment at all when it comes to these. You just get the receiving address & use that on websites. If the site is legit, you should get your funds after it gets a confirmation (can take seconds-hours)

Request payment is one of the addresses of your electrum itself, you do that when you're requesting special payments like 0.045 BTC and then it would give you the qr code for that. But you can give some one that address too, it's nothing to be worried about.
426  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: password reset on: February 05, 2016, 01:36:04 PM
You would need the old password to make a new one.

But if you have the private key of the address that contains the funds or the Electrum Seed you can just make a new wallet and restore it with your seed and/or import the private key and you'll be able to use your bitcoins.

427  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetBTC - Bitcoin Sports Betting | More Sports | Instant Payments | Like Betfair on: February 05, 2016, 01:26:05 PM
I am wondering why you decided to move the tennis to other sports? It really affected the bets it use to receive.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where to trade? on: February 04, 2016, 02:53:48 PM
How does that lending work? That sounds intereting. Does polonoe have the majority of altcoins? Also Can you suggest which coin is best to trade?

No body knows that, all you'll get if you ask this question is speculations. I'd suggest Bittrex for trading altcoins. Lending is risky, don't give out loans without proper collateral. You can read more on that in Lending section. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0
429  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CAREFUL WITH BITSTAMP! on: February 04, 2016, 02:48:40 PM
Not try to take their side as I don't even use them but shouldn't you give them a little time before jumping to conclusions? You said you only deposited FIAT yesterday and maybe they're trying to make sure that you sent the money from your own bank.

And since you're stuck, I'd say its best to provide them with what they need, get your money out and don't use them again.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does sports betting works ? on: February 04, 2016, 02:37:29 PM
Say, a betting will take place on a soccer game score. Does people bet against each other or bet against house ? If they can bet against house, then how does house calculate its odds ?

Different sites have different options, the site in my sig for ex. is where you bet against players but the sites like DirectBet, you bet against the house, they make lines as suggested by oddmakers. Its basically the favorite a team is the lesser the odd it has and they're chosen by their previous records.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Comes to Online Multiplayer Gaming Giant Wargaming on: February 04, 2016, 02:12:09 PM
Wargaming? I don't play any of games by Wargaming Sad

It's great news, but i would love to spend my bitcoin if steam/valve accept bitcoin as payment Smiley
Bitcoiners would spend their bitcoin on DOTA 2 & CS:GO items if they accept bitcoin Grin

It seems we are all thinking the same. It's some good news but nothing big.
If steam however would accept Bitcoin as additional payment option this would be really great news.
I'm still hoping it will happen sooner or later.Fingers crossed!

Maybe its not big news for you but it is for the gamers who play there, they would be able to purchase items much easily and its a start, others might follow soon. Altogether, great news for Bitcoin.
432  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: February 04, 2016, 02:02:37 PM
I wish there is a proper bitcoin bank I can save my bitcoin to earn some interest. Investing with bitcoin is too risky.
yeah agree. maybe in the future. there will be a bankbitcoin that provides interest to its customers
bitcoinbank could profit from lend bitcoin to someone, like doing from bank in the real life

Why not use the fiat banks, if you want to have interest on your deposits? The whole point behind Bitcoin was that you could be your own bank, hoping that there should be bitcoin banks is like going in circles.

Yeah, couldn't make the bet on UAE in time, the odds were 2.20+ at one point. Tsk Tsk!
434  Other / Meta / Re: What's above Legendary? on: February 04, 2016, 01:43:09 PM
"Significant" would be a nice rank Cool

I like that but should that be above Legendary? Not sure..

PS: Lol at your sig. Cheesy

I remember some coming up with names like "Eternal" .... you know what, here's the whole thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996098.0

I propose pillar. Your top arrow is pointing at the pillar that keeps them all together. Smiley

PRESIDENT

Nice suggestions but it should be something that stands out, something greater than Legendary.

There has been chatter about creating a new tier above Legendary called

Vodlike

Lol, then all legendary members would aim to become vodlike Cheesy

Are you sure there are no ranks above legendary?
Is Donator, VIP, Staff, Moderator and Admin not better?

Those are more of titles, working beside the ranks.

Misread that as titties at first.  Grin

I like "Addict" or maybe "Obsessed"
Maniac. Cool

If we have these ranks at the top, users would try to lose their activity somehow to not reach there. Cheesy
Don't know if that's even possible or not.

Should there be another Rank above Legendary?
It would of course be interesting to have but if you have to make threads to appeal then No,not necessary.Though,'Brand New' is the rank you start with before newbie ,maybe edit the image ?

Yeah, totally forgot about that, let's just imagine them somewhere between the first ring and the wooden base.  Tongue

There might be something to it for some though, but hasnt theymos said he likes "mytic" or "mystic" or something like that?

Don't know what mytic means but mystic is nice.

How about these..

Epic

Magnificent

Prime

Mighty

Elite

Iconic

Masterful

Pioneer
435  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Copay: Open Source HD-Multisig Bitcoin Wallet – 1.0 Released on: February 04, 2016, 01:05:16 PM
I've been testing Copay and was pleasantly surprised how well it works. Since the latest version it 's one of the best wallets out there, and the support for all major platforms is a big plus. Kudos to team Copay!

One question though: I happen to run a firewall on my laptop, and whenever I open the Copay wallet, it wants to connect to bitpay.com and bws.bitpay.com. Why's that?

I assume (and hope) my wallet is stored locally, and only under my laptop's control. But when I refuse the connection, it won't open the wallet. Maybe it's just something trivial, but it would REALLY help in terms of independence and trustworthiness, if a local wallet would not rely on some extrernal 3rd party.

That's the server it connects to, to sync with blockchain and broadcast the transactions, since it is a lite wallet and doesn't downloads the whole blockchain.

If you can sign it and post it here or PM to theymos, you'll probably get your account back.

Hi, what does sign it mean?

If theymos posts his btc account on here with random small amount for me to send ... i will send it from that address to prove i am the one with that btc address.

Then i get my account back.

Also to my knowledge i didn't post my account details on any phishing site. I think it maybe its because i forgot to change my details after this site got hacked.

You don't know how to sign a message with your address?  Roll Eyes

Here you go: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0 This is as detailed as it can be. Thx to shorena  Smiley
437  Other / Meta / What's above Legendary? on: February 03, 2016, 02:26:18 PM
Legendary is like a dead end, no more ranks above that. Should there be another Rank above Legendary?

Can we add another ring or two maybe? What should it be called? God.. Supreme.. Ironman.. ??  Undecided

438  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is there a way to not allow Electrum to display BTC when starting electrum? on: February 03, 2016, 02:02:05 PM
You can hide your electrum wallet somewhere inside your laptop or rename it but then you'd have to move it back or revert the name, whenever you want electrum to use that wallet but as shorena pointed out, if someone has access to your laptop then they can do other more dangerous things than just look at your bitcoin balance.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europe wants end to anonymous Bitcoin transactions on: February 03, 2016, 12:44:41 PM
There is nothing wrong with this tbh, they want companies to keep track of who is buying/selling bitcoins, coinbase and other similar exchanges around the world already do this.
440  Other / Meta / Re: Error - 502 Bad Gateway nginx on: February 02, 2016, 04:57:29 PM
Yes, getting a lot of these just now, thought I was the only one.

Edit: They seem to have subsided now. Thx theymos Smiley
Edit2: Er.. spoken too soon, the error are back.  Undecided
