There is no debating with left wing BBC fans it seems.

Left or right, I think it doesn't matter that much.

If it's a BBC they really want, maybe Bob can cater for their needs,
at least as long as they're decent-looking guys?

Good morning dear friends!

Just remember that right when you think something is as dumb as humanly possible... someone... someone out there will be able to think of something even dumber!

I've missed that. What's up with DuckDuckGo?

The Last Days Of Ptolemy Grey reminds me of flowers for algernon.

One of my favorite "bittersweet" SF short stories - along with Song For Lya by George R.R. Martin.

Gotta watch this miniseries! Thanks for the heads up.

US inflation February year on: 7.9%

Rising fuel and food costs push US inflation to 7.9%

Can the fed really raise interest rates by much as fuel prices clobber Americans also?

I don't understand youbrrrr wobrrrds.

I've been force-fed Alexa along with my firestick. I had to get that or upgrade my TV (still quite good), because it wouldn't run a modern Plex client so I could use the content on my (local) Plex server. At any rate, I never use Alexa. I have to say, unfortunately, it can't be shut down/disabled from the firestick menu. in theory, you have to press a special "eavesdrop" blue button to engage it. In practice, I have little doubt there's a steady audio stream from my living room to AWS.

Just for the lulz, the first days I tried to abuse her it verbally. F** off, suck my d***, "Hey Alexa, are you up for DP?". All it ever answered was "I'm sorry, I don't understand your request." Which means, it can do no harm since there's no understanding. Amirite?

EDIT - I made a conscious effort to use the pronoun IT when referring to Amazon's spy, but one HER slipped through. I had to re-read with fresh eyes, and edit it back. This gives me the creeps. It is AN ABSTRACT OBJECT, a huge pile of pseudo-neural matrices or whatnot. It's not a woman. Neither are Siri, Cortana or all the other modern digital assistants, even if they all disguise as humans. And female humans in particular. I'm sure some woke foul-smelling hairy feminist will be glad to explain why this preference for female vs. male. I'm glad I don't have to listen to that explanation. Back to watching porn now.

Alexa, show me some oldstyle hardcore with submissive wom... oops^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H....

In a capitalist system, man exploits man, whereas in a communist system, its the other way around.

Excellent summary!

I think there's a big misnomer about the word communism (and communist, and similar).

Communism, among other effects on society, starts from the assumption that the means of production (materials, machinery, even the labor) should be owned by the producers - that is, the workers. TLDR: factories are owned by factory workers, likely in equal per-person shares. Of course, in practice the workers eventually get royally fucked by TPTB anyway, since such ownership is not enforced as promised, the devil is in the details etc. Look at the Communist Party in China, hand in hand with their oligarchy - at least as long as the oligarchs do not go "against the people", meaning "against the party nomenklatura".

At any rate:

Putin is NOT a communist. He was put there by Yeltsin exactly to STOP some communist from seizing power. He is a plutocrat, which is the exact opposite of a communist.

"Normal" western governments (USA, Canada, Europe) are not communist. They don't even lean towards communism. Not a bit.

Control freak with totalitarian inclinations does not equal communist. If in doubt, read up on communism on Wikipedia or other sources you deem reliable.

Socialism is a different but similar doctrine. There are elements of socialism in several "normal" western governments. Socialism is inherently "weaker" (less totalitarian) than communism, although it can slide into horrible forms of repression too, as can pure capitalism BTW. It's just human nature and has little to do with the underlying ideology, if any. A bland form of socialism generally yields higher minimum wages, higher income taxes, universal health care and instruction, a patronizing nanny state  etc. A particularly soft form of socialism (so-called social democracy) has been mainstream in most of Scandinavia at the end of the 20th century. Your neighbors would snitch on you if they noticed you bought too much alcohol for your own good, but e.g., your children would have free or near-free education up to the university level.

Fuck CBDCs and the pumping of them... especially in this thread.

CBDCs should be treated like a shitcoin as far as this thread is concerned...

I think CBDCs are worse than the majority of shitcoins regarding fungibility, dystopian control by design, so what would be a proper name for this?

govcoin (Bad suggestion, people might confuse "gov" with something positive.)
1984coin (Not shitty enough, and confuse illiterate.)
pedocoin (Seems to be a common disorder among those in power truly benefiting from such coin.)

****coin

Help me fill out the "****" here, need a catchy one.

I propose panopticoin.

A new twist for CCMF: Carolina Chili Mentrance Freshener?

Thanks for taking the time to ponder my question, @JayJuanGee. I admit it was hastily written down - I did little beyond copying it from that twitter link.

The question itself, at least as I meant it, can be answered with certainty, and is not of a speculative nature.

Here it is again, in more precise wording.

Which is the shortest WMA that has never been higher than the price?

Let's assume the first 2-3 years don't matter much, so the answers can look at 2012 or so onwards.

An interesting question I've seen on twitter. I'm asking it here, for the crowd of pundits and observers and long time bitcoin followers.

Q: What is the shortest WMA that results in BTC never going down?

500 mln newly opened futures longs in the last day in Binance. This is calling for a new long squeeze. They missed the train last week, so they will try to catch it in motion. Good luck, n00bs! After they are liquidated I expect next week to get to 50K.

Well, this wasn't hard to predict. The usual long squeeze tax n00bs are paying to the casinos exchanges. Nothing to see here, move along!

It doesn't look like a long squeeze - it's a bit too deliberate.

Disclaimer: TA incompetent.

Now this looked like a proper short squeeze!  Grin

Does anyone have experience with smuggling ppl out of Russia during wartime? I have a friend and an uncle (and his family) who are Russian, living in Russia now.
They want to gtfo asap and don't know of any possibilities. Because the world is unfairly against all Russians, I doubt they will get refugee status and they might get arrested if found trying to cross the border.

Get passports and fly to Armenia or some other country that doesn't require visas. Some allow staying up to 6-12 months, some (Georgia IIRC) will reset the counter if you leave just for a day, so basically indefinitely.

Georgia might be less than enthusiastic about Russian "refugees". They have been fearing Russia since 2008, and recent developments haven't improved things a bit.

Senators look to lock down Russia's gold reserves

Quote
A bipartisan group of senators is introducing a bill to prevent Russia from liquidating gold to withstand biting sanctions.

Why it matters: The sanctions against Russia have frozen the country's foreign exchange assets, but its stockpile of gold could be a lifeline. A measure to close the loophole is yet another indication Congress is looking to get ahead of the Biden administration on punitive measures against Russia.

Is this really necessary?

Who will buy "physical" gold from Russia? Who would trust them with the delivery?

Bitcoin is now the only global payment system that won’t discriminate against anyone, regardless of their race, nationality, religion, politics, or actions.

This is going to become incredibly important in the coming decades.”

Apompliano

I gave you my last merit as an encouragement.
And I'll add a small piece of advice: if it's a tweet, paste a link too  Wink

Why use EMA, then?

I have been using EMA forever and works good for me and is also a good support/resistance level for the BTC in the past.

Explain "works good for me". Does it mean it's preventing you from bogus forecasts?
