That's not what it says, I believe  Grin

That's the gist of my question indeed.
All the (few and not too informative) sources I found only mention USDC and look hopefully at USDT.
Good for "crypto", yes. I guess we should let that seep in.

Our blockchain, though, is truly public, permissionless etc. It is THE blockchain.
Different league. Different value.
But if all you care for is nominal amount stability (interbank settlement), go back and look at USDC etc.
At least, while settlements are denominated in USD or other fiat  Wink

What if 31XXX is the new 6K ?

I guess then 150k would be the new 30k?  Grin

Quote
1/ Breaking major news from US Treasury OCC, the largest US banking regulator (@USOCC), with new guidance allowing US banks to use public blockchains and dollar stablecoins as a settlement infrastructure in the US financial system.

3/ The new interpretive letter establishes that banks can treat public chains as infrastructure similar to SWIFT, ACH and FedWire, and stablecoins like USDC as electronic stored value.  The significance of this can’t be understated.

5/ We are on a path towards all major economic activity being executed on-chain.  It is tremendous to see such forward thinking support from the largest regulator of national banks in the United States.

... trains, helicopters and rockets memes here as non-US banks and jurisdictions chase the white rabbit Mnuchin just pulled from Uncle Sam's hat ...

What is meant here by "public blockchains"? Permissionless, untrusted? (Can't find a good source yet.)

@AlcoHoDL

Hodl tight man. If you haven't seen bad symptoms yet, you likely won't. When it's bad, it's usually immediately bad. This pattern of yours hit two of my friends (one in her early 40s, the other in his late 50s). Both were out of it in just over one week, plus of course some time to get back to full baseline.

EDIT - No muscle/joint pain? That was the worst of the "light" symptoms apart from head splitting headaches. My older friend, a former athlete, said he'd never felt anything like that muscle pain, even in post-traumatic conditions.

Lately it seems to me they're eager to report about the honey badger. New ATHs are as good as losses of steam as long as they can put a snippet of news out. And lately, dips make for bigger news than ATHs (ATH? Yawn. Wake me up at 50k).

Am I the only one who checks the price before and after sex to see how much we earned (or lost) doing it? Cheesy

I'm past that.

Now I check while on it just to be sure. My partners don't seem to appreciate that. Nocoiners... they just can't be helped.

Muahaha we think pretty much the same.. .  Grin

You must be a great mind  Tongue

Although, tax system will get an overhaul coming years. First prosposal rejected to increase first 30k free of taxes to 440k, above that amounth every 1000 euro you pay 0.33 cent in taxes.

You sure it's not 0.33 euros?  Undecided

Free Pro Tip, If the pussy is green, back the fuck up.

Maybe Gwyneth should consider adding some cesium to her candles? They would glow even when not lit.

Past 31k already.

This wasn't even a correction.

If you don't like taxes you should indeed move, to a country with bad roads, a bad justice system and bad healthcare. Good luck with that.

I tried to live in a place with no taxes and they tried to kill me for it.

No roads, no justice system, no healthcare.

It was wonderful.

And +1 WOsMerit for someone with his mouth and his money (and his ass, if I might speak French) locked in the same place.

we are close to $40,000. now we can say that John McAfee may have a 1% chance of hitting that $ 500,000 forecast

Our stable numeraire is coming: http://www.gata.org/node/8303

Very interesting and instructive read, Wekkel. The rabbits you pull out of your hat are sometimes very pretty.
It's dated 2001 (!) and still current. It's like the author has seen Lehman Bros, Fanny Mae and all that jazz.

+1 WOsMerit

@AlcoHODL
If it's our spiked little friend, it's a nasty critter, but you're strong. I had friends contract covid and restored to 100% in a couple of weeks. Others paid a larger bill, but still alive and kicking (and they are older than what I think you are). It really varies wildly from person to person.

Hodl on!

my grandma is 93. she has been a tarot fortuneteller for more than 50 years. this morning she called me and told me bitcoin was at $34k and that it will hit 80k before a significant pull back. this is unprecedented. in all those years that i am involved in bitcoin, she never made a price prediction. and she rarely ever calls me. (by the way: she will get her covid vaccine tomorrow)

caution! i dont know if she was referring to $ or € when she talked about 80k  Cheesy

Dammit where is that guy who posted sort of a WO digest here? We need him now. I don't remember his name...

Breaking:
*New ATH today.
*AlkoHODL fighting covid
*ivomm getting on Forbes list in his home country
*Bullish grandma predicts 80k
*Bawb & Rick buying Texas
etc...

EDIT: xhomer comes up with limited edition hat to commemorate El Dude quitting his McDonalds job  Grin

Just imagine how Loaded feels.

The Winklevoss twins are probably enjoying the day too.

~400 mil for them, $3-3.3 bil to Satoshi (or, rather, to his coins)

Plot twist...Loaded is the winkles sock puppet....

Double twist: The Winkles are Loaded's puppets!!

My wife who battled Covid for 65 days before she cleared the infection did a lot of kneeling downward dog. while I struck her along her back.

What a degenerate bitcoiner. You can't stop drawing TA lines approximating your poor wife's back even when she's doing yoga.  Grin

Seriously, glad she came out of it. Be safe, both of you!

Wait, it just hit $33,000? You realize one bitcoin can no longer fit into a signed integer anymore.....

I should have known you're 32 bit inside!  Tongue

"Of course you're free to do as you please. Bitcoiners say 'Have fun staying poor' "

Tell her that her fiat wealth is losing value at about -10%/year due to inflation, and tell her to calculate in her head how long it will take for her to be half as poor as she is today.

If she can do simple math, it will scare the absolute shit out of her.

If she can't do simple math, then she's too much of a simp normie to save herself.
She can do simple math. Particularly about inflation she's well aware of the 10+% thing. That's why she keeps looking for some magic bullet stock. That's why I felt I had to at least hint at btc. Some people can't be helped, but there might be hope for her. She's just a bit slow in changing point of view, maybe. Good luck to her.

Elon Musk?

or Peter Schiff? Grin

Nahh... Peter's doing it undercover, trying not to move the market or be caught with his hands in the cookie jar Wink
