A tincture from the seeds, if properly made, can be used for its psychoactive properties. The effects are subjectively quite different from LSD. Excessive dosage can be lethal indeed.

I experienced the effects of LSA as less mentally intense, more manageable, bit more decent and fine grained (visually) compared to LSD but quite extensive in auditive realms. I can remember listening to hours of acid techno that my brain on LSA made out of a buzzing refrigerator  Cool

Lethality can be solved by resolving the poisonous parts of the seeds by grinding the seeds, soaking it for 24 hours in petrol ether, squeeze out the ether and let the remains fully evaporate. You can then soak the ground, dry, ether-free seed in food grade alcohol, which makes an easy to dose, psychoactive schnapps which virtually eliminates the onset time you have to accept when digesting the seeds. Also, no vomiting before things turn colorful and magically moving  Grin
I think i got the original reciepe from an article off the erowid.org archives. A must-visit for every psychonaut.

Yes, Erowid is an important repository of knowledge and can be a life saver, however it's losing pace and not keeping up 100% with the new grey area molecules.

Incidentally, I got the same recipe from DMT Nexus, but I never actually used morning glories. I was planning to prepare the tincture using some Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds I had lying around, but I never got around to that.

As you say, most lethal events are caused by substances other than the "interesting" alkaloids - things that can be washed away by suitable nonpolar solvents. However, the alkaloids themselves can be fatal too if dosed stupidly high: they have serious vasoconstrictive/abortifaciens effects and were the cause of several deaths in the past (when eating too much claviceps infested rye).

BTW, Morning Glories are in the Nightshade family.

Actually they are in the Convolvulaceae: mostly, but not exclusively, vines.

If I remember correctly (it's been many years since I got into this and my wife immediately proved to be far better at it) but I believe a tincture from Morning glory flowers in very low dosages could eliminate intestinal parasites, but has to be used with EXTREME caution as the line between killing the parasites and killing the host was so miniscule...

Not sure about other parts of the plant, but the seeds contain LSA, an ergoline alkaloid related to LSD. The presence of LSA could be due to symbiosis with a fungus not unlike Claviceps purpurea - the organism responsible for LSD in rye.

A tincture from the seeds, if properly made, can be used for its psychoactive properties. The effects are subjectively quite different from LSD. Excessive dosage can be lethal indeed.

There's always something to learn. I could be excused for one mistake made in haste, but 5 answers were just wrong.

Good of you to take the time and assemble this, @aysg76!

I know it's late. I was checking for exact full moon times and I just stumbled into this reference to the Corn moon. So I thought I'd share.
788  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 21, 2021, 11:34:22 AM
The next full moon will occur on Monday, Sept. 20 at 7:55 p.m. EDT (23:55 UTC), but the moon will appear full the night before and after its peak to the casual stargazer. September's full moon will be the Harvest Moon of 2021, though it is sometimes known as the Corn Moon and has many other nicknames by different cultures.

-heavy snipping- (Keeping the quote short, but OP is worth reading in its entirety.)

Looking over on the Bitcoin Futures chart, this IS the sort of golden cross investors will be interested in buying. Price is above both the 50 & 200 MA, where price is notably beginning to find some buying pressure:

The death cross sell signal of $32K was notably awful, to the point where it looked like a fake-out

I'd be incredibly careful trading this lagging indicator. The golden cross (buy signal) is in relation to the death cross (sell signal).

This to me explains why price hasn't capitulated further after the break of $42,900 local lows,

Nonetheless, a break below $42,500 tomorrow would likely result in a retest of $40K. On the 4hr chart, the bulls need a close above local resistance to confirm new local lows.

Now that enough spot traders are feeling bearish with the break of the 200 Day MA, I'm feeling a bit more bullish. Still 55-45 regarding a re-test of $50K before a re-test of $40K.

Have my last. Great short term analysis IMO.

I would advise against catching a ride in that. From what I gather, the driver always fucks the client in the end.

are there any situations when having battery in, but phone off can affect anything?
A genuine question.

if the battery is in, some part of the phone is on, even if its just something that looks for the power button to be pressed. who knows what else could be powered but "dormant" waiting for some trigger.

no battery is the only way to be sure its really, really off instead of some kind of "soft" off mode.

Right you are. Unless there's a condenser holding just enough charge to keep something still on for minutes. Or hours.

Removable battery should be a safety design requirement IMO. I'd go to such draconian consumer protection measures as "If the battery cannot be removed, you can't sell this in this country, sorry. Security, you understand."

I have a whole list of similarly hardcore user/consumer protection laws that I dream of. One of my faves is "Any data not strictly necessary to carry out the user's command sent out from the device by your program/app will cost you. The user gets to price the data by the byte. If you get sued (and be sure you will, there's real money involved), it's the laws and courts of the user's country that decide." This would include even benign cases such as an app checking for updates without the user's direct request.

A man can dream, right?

google auth has issues if the phone breaks.

I, too, have read a few horror stories about that. In each of those cases, downloading WinAuth or some other 100% compatible clone and managing/copying the secrets (keys) on a proper computer allows perfect recovery.

In other words: Use a computer to back up your secrets. It's just a small text file.

EDIT Oops! Dabs beat me to it immediately.

Stumbled on an interesting article: https://www.zerohedge.com/crypto/nation-states-vs-network-states-vs-crypto-claves?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+zerohedge%2Ffeed+%28zero+hedge+-+on+a+long+enough+timeline%2C+the+survival+rate+for+everyone+drops+to+zero%29

A few sound bytes:

"It was that no amount of trying to force a linear extrapolation of the outgoing systems were going to work because the advent of decentralized cryptography and non-state money had already changed the architecture of power and the incentive structures around wealth preservation."

"established policy makers are operating on the premise of a linear extension from their previous experience. Central Bank Digital Currencies are the purest expression of this assumption. Take central bank issued fiat currency, digitize it, add the ability to overlay ideological policy imperatives onto money (like social credit), and then everything just continues on as before.

But the underlying architecture of the global power structure is phase shifting into something else entirely and the reason why is because decentralized, non-state, cryptographically secured money is already here. The smart money realizes that this is a superior form of money to preserve wealth and autonomy. Everything else is secondary."

A good read. Unusually good for Zerohedge. Good find Wekkel!

Talking about China, have you noticed that it no longer says "Mainland China" or "Hong Kong" as place of origin on Chinese sellers pages on Ebay. It now says "Greater China" on all of them, sometimes followed by a city, including Hong Kong.

I noticed it is impossible to compete with Chinese sellers as they don't pay shipping.

Less and less true lately IME. Still hard to compete, Chinese labor costs being what they are.
