Big move is due to break of the triangle formation. let's hope it is not a fake breakout.
So i guess the move has nothing to do with real world happenings... You chartists are amazing.. Did not see the Musk quote till after I made that post. However, Support and resistance lines are absolutely relevant and the reason why is because people think they are relevant. Support and resistance levels are therefore where people place their orders and stops. Why do you think that the big moves are always made around these levels? To ignore where people position thier orders is just plain fucking stupid. Bipartisan merit award

Bah, I'm going to buy one share of GME. If it loses, then it's gone. If it squeezes, then my one share will be worth $50k. Then I'll turn around and turn it into BTC. Then hodl it to $10m.
I expect some (more) fuckery, so 50k is unlikely. 1-2k is within reach, though. GME at 2k is a $135bil company At 20k/share they could buy TSLA, so.... AH trades currently showing +$101 in AH, lol Uh, right. I meant the peak when the shorts run for cover - not as anything sustainable. It will be a last-one-holding-the-bag game down from there.

NYSE closed GME trading? That didn't age well. Stockfuckheads trying to scam Wallstreetbets. Why does Bloomberg and Google show GME at $132 and $208 suddenly now? Just a few hours ago it was ~$380-400...what happened? Just curious They are preventing buys now. Not just the options - which could be construed as making some sense for the market maker, though I don't see why they should to that - but the mere underlying stocks too, which is outright outrageous. There might be a crime going on here. My financial advice: Go long popcorn! Just tried to buy a couple shares of GME on Schwab and they wait until you actually click the Place Order button to tell you the GME security is invalid and can't be found. This whole thing is a coordinated effort to stop the short squeeze from happening.
This is a battle that will benefit bitcoin one way or another. I think we should all do our part and at least buy a share or two (if you can find a broker who will sell you one).
Edit: Actually, I kept trying and the order went through.
Same here. Got in at $222 for the lulz.

However, I think there might be legitimate reasons for limiting margin (leveraged) trading: if the shorters are insolvent, a massive liquidation might leave some longers holding the bag, and would sure as hell hurt the broker.
Well then if that were the case, they should close the trade and liquidate everyone asap. While allow trading to continue? Legit justification (not implying it's the truth): <devils_advocate> "What if things get back to normal, the shorters answer the margin call or the stock goes back down blah blah blah? We were just hoping for the best. Markets rational, traders solvent blah blah!" </devils_advocate> Don't answer that, I know why. It would expose all the re-hypothecation and phantom sharing going on.
quite likely. However, there is outstanding proof of re-hypothecation already, as the GME shorts were something like 140% of market cap! What remains to be ascertained is where, which stocks got rehypothecated. Someone must be made into an example. Imagine shuch a shitshow happening with corn... it would likely last less and be much more violent. Learn your lessons, naked shorters.

For the Average Joe's "protection" of course. Fking nanny state broker bullshit. They're moving to protect the corrupt wealthy elite. My first thought exactly. Keeping your customers from a potentially profitable trade is grounds for legal action. A class action from users or GME stakeholders could be devastating even if Ameritrade hasn't been paid (or pushed) by the shorters (and I'm not implying they couldn't have been). However, I think there might be legitimate reasons for limiting margin (leveraged) trading: if the shorters are insolvent, a massive liquidation might leave some longers holding the bag, and would sure as hell hurt the broker.

Why would they do that? They want to wipe out shorts too.
To raise capital from the bubble because the business is actually a loss-maker? Anyway, appears they're limited in their charter to 300 million common shares, so only about 1/4 billion available to them Theoretically they could raise capital (more debt) against the collateral value of their existing shares. That's typically how it's done. I'm sure there is a lot of internal talk going on at GameStop HQ rn about how to capitalize on all of this. I agree they must be talking about it, but I doubt a bank will be happy to make a loan backed by reddit-inflated collateral. Let's not forget GME business model doesn't look that promising. It's been a few years already, not a recent thing. On the other hand, I'm more than happy if a few large hedgies get rekt. That will teach a few lessons about rehypothecation - which is right up our bitcoiner alley.

Honestly, it would be better than having something jammed up your nose into your brain. That can't be pleasent. If in Peking they use rusty metal to make their swabs, that could be a match.
