Since when we saw the tail wagging the dog (derivatives dragging corn down), I've become wary. TPTB have an unlimited amount of shiat money to throw at any ETF. Then who audits the ETF? Who audits the auditors? Physical corn, on the other hand, has this self custody thing that is very very hard to dodge... Wink

Edit: Oh, and trust me on this: I'm extremely picky about typography, maybe as picky as you, if not more! This is not meant as an offensive comment. I think there are very few of us left. I'm always happy when I find another one...

At least three in the WO. Be happy!

I find it funny when I read Bounty/Signature campaigns proudly highlight

Posts on the Wall Observer won’t be counted. I mean why? Why??

Because we're harder to shill here.

Bears still try to put up a fight because know their days are not counted.

Their HOURS are!  Cheesy

It seems whatever your brain latches on first.
One time I looked and it was cw, next time ccw.
disturbing.

EDIT: It changes if I close one eye.

EDIT 2: Here is another anecdote-there is a spot in your retina, which has no light receptors, called the optic disk (blind spot). Yet, you don't see a round hole in your vision field.
Your brain performs 'filling-in', like an advanced photoshop and you don't notice anything unusual, the field of vision is smooth. There is some way you can find the blind spot, but it is a bit involved.

Use something small - like a small coin in your hand. Keep it on the side, far from the center of your visual field. For example, keep your arm extended forward while you hold the coin. Look and focus straight ahead, so the coin is on the side of your vision. Slowly bring your hand closer until the coin is "gone". They key is: don't look at the coin. Keep looking ahead. The blind spot is on the side, and you will find it when your hand (that is, the coin) is at the right distance.

disturbing.

its also started one way and then reversed and gone the other way half way through a couple times.
CW for me now, on first (re)sight! It really is unstable, but when it settles it's harder to "flip" than the dishes.
1047  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 27, 2021, 07:56:45 PM
I can manage the dishes just fine and flip them in my head. The rotating ballerina is harder. When seeing it first (scroll out, then back in), it's always CCW to me. It takes some time and conscious effort to make it spin clockwise. Is it a brain hemisphere thing (right handed vs lefty)?

We all knew about your Mexican love story. What I missed was the marriage bit.

We'd already been together some time before I told her I was a hodler

No words to the wise. Go Jimbo, go! Wink
1049  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 26, 2021, 05:43:11 PM
Best way to manage these issues: never tell the SO you have bitcoin. Second best: don't say how much, just some pocket money for the lulz.

These strategies come handy if she ever turns her back on you, too.

Unrelated, since Jimbo seems to have done pretty well for himself - under all respects: job, finance, women - but...
my wife

Shocked I must've missed the fact you got married! Congrats man, you're a true legend.

First, they forced the guy to commit suicide in lieu of imminent chemical castration ordered as a punishment for being gay.
Now they put him on a 50 pound note.
It's like...oopsie.."He wouldn't mind".
Just look at that...they like to celebrate the dead, not the living.

@Biodom +1 on Alan Turing. Shame, shame, shame. He not only was a world class scientist: he also contributed to saving his country's ass during the war.

Well, when you nail a guy to a tree for the crime of saying people should be nicer to each other, then make him a God you know you're dealing with a weird species. Very little surprises me these days.

As for the guy nailed to the tree, if you're referring to the very famous guy (but not quite as famous as John Lennon back in the day), that was the common death punishment for slaves and lower classes. People in militarily occupied areas would be just a step above slaves - no citizenship. And it was not for saying people should be nicer to each other, but for being a local making trouble - we no want no revolutionaries here.

Is it just me, or is this the usual coindesk nonsense?

Quote
According to Messari research analyst Ryan Watkins, Ethereum is at risk of becoming “dollarized” because of the prevalence of stablecoins including tether (USDT) and USD coin (USDC).

“Ethereum has dollarized, and the dollar is ultimately controlled by the Federal Reserve, clouding dreams of an independent monetary system,” he wrote.

The market has taken notice, and one solution might be so-called non-pegged stablecoins. By sacrificing a “fixed exchange rate,” one of three points in a triangular currency model known as “the impossible trinity,”  a new type of stablecoin might be able to achieve an independent monetary policy.

What does "non-pegged stablecoin" (NPS) mean?
Stable as in... 1 NPS = 1 NPS?
It doesn't work that way.
Not unless you change the units from NPS to BTC.

What's happening now is exactly like 2017, I member. We are on for $100k April now confirmed!

tell us, Hhampuz, in what part of 2017 are we because a lot happened in 2017 and there are various parts that are somewhat different from other parts, even if the parts can be chronologically strung together.

Eek.  If my line is right... we are in for some rough waters...

*edit* On the daily we are still good... barely.

Stop doing whatever it is you're doing!  You're making Bitcoin fall!

edit: it looks like that line you drew might be support again.  Seems to be oscillating over it.
edit2: shit.  Anyway, I wont be able to watch - I have to go to work Sad

Well all my silly lines are busted... but now we are bouncing off the way more important 50dma.  So if it breaks under that it ain't my fault!

Well, and I REALLY do not want to see it break under that one... :/

I just checked with bitcoin, and s/he/it is considering what you want.  You will hear back later, aka soon.tm   Wink

Tomorrow this Contract Will Expire for 6.1 Billion Bitcoin Option and EXPIRY FAVORS BULLISH TRADERS

It clearly means there are lot more traders with LONG Positions and Whenever this happens we see Sudden DIP IN Bitcoin and this is exactly what is happening as whales make money always by moving the market against the market .
So i believe there is nothing to be worried for even if we see BTC to break $50000 mark today as it will just be done to liquidate most of Positions . AND THEN WE WILL SEE IT MOVING UP AGAIN .

Quoted from Wise advice channel.

I concur with your analysys, to the point of asking "At what time is expiry?"  Cool

A slight OT in this camelidae thread. I'd like to talk about this thing - bitcoin, heard of it yet? - which they tell me is getting yuuge.

Recent price movement smells like fuckery to me. There could be two factors: taxes and expiring derivatives (options, options on futures, futures). Likely both.

As far as derivatives go, we may be able to time the spring-uppity reaction with some accuracy. So my question is: when do these important derivatives expire? Options should be today (Thursday usually). Does anybody know the exact time of expiry?

What you think about an Alpaca, they look really cute Cheesy

Yeah, it's really cute.

But for some reason I want to choke it!

Poor thing, noooo!

Alpacas are much tamer. Llamas can be quite nasty. Choke a llama instead. Protip: wear a mask. Or a helmet.

Actually, I was thinking about who Musk might be in the WO, and surely proudhon would be a decent candidate.

The general tone is in the right place, but does account age check out?

Several years ago proudhon had the highest or second highest post count on the forum. In a time where Musk was likely working on building a rocket ship and electric car business so I doubt it is him.

That's more or less what I meant. The ideal candidate would be about 1 year old or possibly less. I can't bring myself to believe that chatting with Saylor would induce someone like EM to make an account here just for the trulz. Our resident Llama has no musky scent IMO.

Thinking again, I heard some people here get to the point of selling their venerable accounts, and our electric man is said to have enough dough to buy the whole forum population a couple times over, so there is that too.

I must say that I agree with those who feel something is not right about these regular dips.

-snip-

So now the bears are in the pathetic position to try to break 53K just to be stopped at 52K  Grin It is like the amateurs football team playing with professionals counting only the times they kicked the ball  Grin Grin Grin

Man, you're a legendary now. You can't have my last merit anymore - no matter how much sense you make.  Tongue

The next few 15minutes-es are critical!

Hmmm.  Now it's time to see how good 15m charts work... hoping for not that good.

Not that bad in this case, either. Unfortunately.
