Well after going toe to toe with Gaethje and taking all those strikes, you gotta realize that there's more than a coin flip's chance Chandler takes it to deep waters where McGregor starts getting into some cardio problems.  And with 30 more pounds in the cage I wouldn't be surprised that he'll be huffing and puffing around the final couple minutes for R2.

And if anything I think the heavier weight and the inactivity is going to work against McGregor that it would work against Chandler.

I'm sure there must've been a good reason that McGregor wants it to be at 185 (obviously it was his team's idea). Maybe the trick is that Conor will be dropping pounds to get down to the 185, while Chandler will have to bulk up a bit. And getting used to the extra weight could be harder than just slimming down a bit.
To give him some credit, I think in that announcement video McGregor looked less washed up than before and starting to look a little bit more like the old version of himself (emphasis on "a little bit").

Having recently earned his black belt in jiu-jitsu, maybe we'll see Conor taking it to the ground. If he manages to get on the top, he could get some rest and not gas out too soon.

I'm pretty sure with all the partying and the rich lifestyle McGregor doesn't to cut weight anymore.  And he knows he's not gonna climb the rankings and go fight for a belt in any weight class anymore so all he's got is to get into these dog and pony shows and get his money.  His team doesn't call the shots, McGregor does.

And I didn't know he has a black belt in BJJ now...  Let's see how he does against a 185 lbs Chandler on top throwing bombs at him.

Also, lets us all wish tokeweed not to be so lazy this year and update second post of this topic more regularly Cheesy As the last event was in October according to it.

I'm here thinking wtf is this guy talking about?  Then I went to the second post.  LOL.

^  Yup one of my wallets was eligible but I feel like it wasn't that much esp if the price starts trading around single digits.  But here's what you guys should be doing tho, and I'll surely do it too.  Stake your airdropped DYM and buy some off the market if possible and stake them too.  That at least will make you have a higher chance of getting eligibility in other future airdrops.

And wasn't it Ansen from Twitter who said that DYM is the real Cosmos 2.0?  That could mean something good.
443  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for January on: January 03, 2024, 12:17:19 PM
WTF is happening right now?  Just when I thought everything is gonna be alrightthe market turns right into blood bath mode and dumps all over the place...  :/

I haven't looked into the news yet but if I were to guess, I think the market sell off has something to do with the ETF getting rejected once again and it's another wait and see for the next round.  Lmao.  This is hilarious.  But what else is new... The market always makes an ass out of everybody.

And the thing with Man United winning from behind vs a decent club in Aston Villa, I think a huge part of that is the match being at Old Trafford.  There's just something with United playing in the so called 'Theatre of Dreams' that makes some matches something special for the guys at home.
There has been nothing special about playing at Old Trafford for United this season. In their last 10 or so matches at home, they have lost to Bournemouth, Bayern, Manchester City, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Galatasaray. The only top team they have won at home recently is Chelsea, before the Villa match.

There was pretty much no expectation for the Villa match, and that may have helped to relieve some pressure from the players.

- Jay -

Sure but the point was the minute you think you have it all figured out, better think again if you're betting against Man United at Old Trafford.  And there's no shame losing vs the likes of Man City, Bayern and Newcastle United imho as they are more or less pretty good themselves.

So yeah, Man United is up playing against Tottenham next.  My first instict is bet a little something for Tottenham but then you guessed it, the match is at Old Trafford.  I think I'll just enjoy the match or bet on something like BTTS and over 2.5 goals combo.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: January 03, 2024, 11:58:41 AM
^  But keep in mind that Man City hasn't played their match vs I think Sheffield United as it was postponed.  It's safe to assume that they're going to win the match and that puts them at second place with 43 points.

It was not Sheffield, they already played them actually. It was the match against Brentford that was postponed because of the Club World Cup.

As for the result of Liverpool vs Newcastle United, it's not surprising.  Newcastle's away form is so terribad that even midtable clubs could win against them any day.  But of course the midtable clubs this season are Man United, Chelsea, Brighton and West Ham.  Cheesy  All decent clubs.

If Liverpool keep winning like this then even the Pep machine will not be able to catch up this time (you know, win every game, because you have the best squad depth in the world).

I know Chelsea have a record vs City but come on, really? You're telling me that United can beat this City team after they got trounced 3-0 last time?

Wut?  What I said was all the midtable clubs this season aren't the usual midtable clubs we see every year.  These guys are usually top 4 clubs and what I said that they would win against Newcastle at home at any day of the week because Newcastle's away form is terribad.

I hope that clears that up,  Wink

RESULT:

West Ham United 0-0 Brighton and Hove Albion

With a point each, West Ham United stay in 6th place but Brighton move up a place to 7th and push Manchester United down to 8th by virtue of goals scored even though the points and goal difference is the same.

These are the games taking place this weekend:

Saturday 13th January
Chelsea vs Fulham
Newcastle United vs Manchester City

Sunday 14th January
Everton vs Aston Villa
Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Monday 15th January
Burnley vs Luton Town

West London Derby with Chelsea vs Fulham...  That game will be played with much tenacity and I wouldn't be surprised if they win the match seeing that momentum is at their side.

Man United vs Tottenham, I think a lot of people would side with Tottenham here as United have been terrible this season.  But I'd say just stay away as United in the Theatre of Dreams could disappoint they away side.

So unless McGregor knocks Chandler out early, I really don't know how he'll win if the match goes into deep waters.

Knocking Chandler out within 2 rounds is probably the plan. Some fighting analytics said that Chandler represents style that suits McGregor the most (or at least the old McGregor), and the same goes for making it a 185 fight. They're making everything they can to improve Conor's chances. I wouldn't be surprised if Chandler got some secret bonus for losing  Grin

Hundreds of Discord servers?  Lol...  Wow, I couldn't even keep up with the 11 I'm in and I'm really active to just the three of them.  But yeah, I think the community could be a good metric if the project and their airdrop could at least be a good one.  I mean look at SUI.  Before their ICO, yup it was an ICO, their Discord was full of people getting into mundane conversations which lead me to think that it was being botted.  The devs prolly picked up on this so they decided to do an ICO instead of an airdrop.

I could imagine the botters' displeasure with the decision.  Lol.  They've been going at it for months thinking it was gonna be another pay day.
448  Economy / Speculation / BTC Sentiment Poll for January on: January 02, 2024, 12:09:54 PM
December closed with another green monthly candle which kinda gave a scare as it was showing some sign that the top is in and that it could start going back down below 40k...  But it didn't!  And if anything the price action it's showing right now says it's just gonna get stronger.

So yeah, just a simple poll to see where your sentiments are for the market overall.  I don't think some people are convinced yet and are still side lined.

Anyway, here's the monthly chart...  And it's a beauty esp if you include January.

^  At first glance, Man United playing Nottingham Forest away looks like a value bet for the guys at home but looking at how United won from behind vs Aston Villa, I think you're right.  Ten Hag could go on and continue the momentum here.  And this guy Garnacho...  He is running hot lately.

Lol at myself for falling for ETH's trap. The result didn't change the fact it was value though. On a boost, it was 24/10! Conversely, 27/10 for Nottingham Forest was poor value.

But as I've said countless times I'm happy to lose bets on United and City if it means them not winning things.

Yeah but hindshight, with the bookies giving Nottingham Forest 'poor value' it prolly means they know Man United was up to some shenanigans against and lose the match...  Which they did.  Lol.

185 for McGregor, that looks strange. With more weight, he looses speed. With his lifestyle, will he be ready for 3 rounds? Also rather strange to see that Chandler accepted fighting in this weight. He was a welterweight in the start of his career, 12 years ago. His body is adopted to lightweight and cutting weight. And now, due to Conor being on steroids (to cure injury) and his lifestyle (drinking and party), he needs to gain, because Conor cant or dont want to cut. Is it fair?

Mmm..  It's not rather strange that Chandler accepted the match up as it's prolly going to be his biggest pay day.  :/   And he def knows that he could win vs McGregor at any weight class.  He has the wrestling advantage, his striking isn't too bad and as we've seen vs Gaethje, the guy has heart.  So unless McGregor knocks Chandler out early, I really don't know how he'll win if the match goes into deep waters.

And for all we know, Chandler could have the advantage at 185 due to his wrestling.

^  Maybe we could use Discord vibe as a metric if a project is worth getting into their potential airdrops.  Wink  I haven't been going around a lot in Discord and I'll be needing a few tips which ones are worth joining.

So...  If you were asked which projects' Discords are worth joining to vibe with?  I joined the Worm Hole one and I know there's airdrop implications but their Discord seem a little bit botted.  Feels like I'm talking to a script.

I didn't watch Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest, but from optics would you say that it was a fluke?  If they run it back and if Newcastle played a tad better, would you say Nottingham Forest would win it again or did they win because Newcastle played worse?
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: December 30, 2023, 12:46:36 PM
Arsenal play away at Fulham on Sunday 31st December but I do not think it will be a happy new year for them. After what West Ham United did to Arsenal by winning away 0-2 I think Arsenal will suffer against Fulham. Even though I would not put is past Arsenal to score at least one goal, I think Fulham will win the game.

^  Possible spot for Arsenal to get back in winning form at the next match?  Arsenal to win and over 1.5 goals combo is at 1.77.

Yup but West Ham has the genius Moyes who could outfox any manager from time to time.  He even outfoxed Ferguson during his time at Man United and made Moyes his successor cos he knew Moyes has a good head on his shoulders.

As for Fulham, sure Marco Silva is a decent manager who was once touted as the young Mourinho a fee years back.  But he doesn't have the experience and the grit.  IMHO.

Since there's a chance that the match could end in a draw, and I could see it go BTTS, so what about this...  Arsenal or draw double chance and BTTS combo at 2.13?  Grin

^  ^  Yup to the both of you guys.  I don't get why there are a lot of people at CT who try to analyze the PA too much to the point that they have funny conclusions that 'it's over' then after just a couple of weeks they go 'we're back'.  But yeah they could just be messing with everyone.

Anyway yeah as long as there aren't any last minute shenanigans happening I think we're getting out of the woods this time...

Stay safe out there guys.

^  Haaaaaa!  I just made my picks.  And it's the same feeling I always have everytime the day before the first kick off happens.  I will win this!

This weekend's picks are:  Adebayo, Hwang, Olise, Garnacho, Saka, Salah and Bowen.

I picked a couple of guys I don't really know, a couple of most likely to get at least a goal in, somebody who's due for a goal and a hot prospect in United's Garnacho.

And yeah, I really have a funny feeling that I'm gonna hit this one.  Grin Grin Grin

You have a point, I did not ask him where he heard the rumours but if they are true they are completely pointless because Howe and Newcastle United overachieved last season by finishing 4th in the Premier League and by getting to the Carabao Cup final. Newcastle have to be happy just for being away from the relegation zone.

If Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Aston Villa continue to play the way have been, both Newcastle and Manchester United will fail to reach a top four finish and will miss out on Champions League football next season.

@JollyGood there’s rumour that Howe job is under threat due to yesterday’s loss and I feel that it’ll be absolutely sad if after all the work he’s done he gets the sack now. Lastly Ten Hag survives for now because the new owner clearly wasn’t happy with his transfers so it’s a welcome change that the player’s fought for him and managed to secure 3 vital points.
Can you post where you got the rumor from?  I think it's too early to start thnking about giving Eddie Howe the sack imho.  And if it's the match vs Nottingham Forest that caused the oilers to think about getting rid of him then they should think again.  Newcastle is mired with injuries and if anything they should be giving their manager a big transfer budget for the January transfer window!

And their still rebuilding the club after decades of nothing.  Finishing top 4 in the league and getting in the CL is quite a feat considering with the players they have.

It's not that they just have to be happy that they got top 4 last season and be ok with what's currently going on at this season.  It's that if the oilers really wanted Howe to acheive more than they have last season then it's time to bring out the check book because they other top clubs are spending during transfer windows to bolster their own squads.  It will be so short sighted to expect the same results without making any real improvements.

Now at the next summer transfer window it would be harder for them to acquire better players because they wouldn't have the CL to dangle in front of their prospective sign ups.  :/

Founds some nice year 2023 in review for you guys https://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/Fight-Facts-UFC-2023-a-Year-in-Review-192123. Some interesting data to be found there. Just drop a look when you have free time.

"Mayra Bueno Silva landed an incredibly rare ninja choke on Holly Holm and earned a POTN bonus. After Silva failed her post-fight drug test, her win was overturned, and her $50,000 check was rescinded." this one looks interesting. Fighter got a bonus, and later that bonus was given away, even though it is never officially announced anywhere.

Ah...  I remember that one as I had Holly Holm for the win at the top of my lottery ticket.  Cheesy  And it looks like the books have Bueno Silva as the slight favorite at 1.58 vs Pennington's 2.39.  Hmmm, so if Bueno Silva isn't juiced like she was vs Holm then she'll prolly be easier to take down?  And from optics, on the feet Bueno Silva seems more hittable than the average fighter.  Dunno...  Will have to see some stats and some tape of her past matches.  But all in all, it could be a spot to take the underdog in Pennington.  I ssink!  Don't quote me on that.  Grin

Anyway...  Just a couple more weeks guys.  The next one is a decent event to start the year.
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lamina1 airdrop speculation on: December 28, 2023, 01:40:32 PM
Can we have all potential airdrops in one thread and rank them from best to worst.  I feel like many of them wouldn't be worth our time and it would be good to make everybody aware if so and leave it to the reader if he still wants to farm the airdrop.

I don't wanna rank them because I'm not sure about them either lol, I don't think anyone is, because it's all random state of affairs, sometimes airdrops you faded cause you thought it's not worth then it turns out big (happened to me with Jito).

Quote
There's also another one that I've stopped participating in as I'm starting to feel it's just a waste of my time.  I'm talking about the Venom testnet.  I feel like it's a scam...  What do you guys think?

Venom is done, look at this [1].

[1] https://talkimg.com/image/IoVMP

Yeah but we need to rank them to the best of out abilities and show them to everybody discuss about.  We could find the next Jito this way.  Wink

Anyway, I think one of the best ways to know if a project's airdrop could be worth it or not is if there are VC's that made a hefty investment in the project.  Who their devs are is another thing to look out for.  If the dev team is composed of guys who were part of a legit and popular procotol's core dev team then it could be worth our time.

And finaly, the community...  If it's getting more traction then all the more it should go up the list.

With Venom, you just feel everything is fake and botted the moment you enter their Discord.  I left after a week.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops speculations thread on: December 28, 2023, 01:19:39 PM
I mistakenly thought that the airdrop from Arbitrium was the largest in recent years, but it turned out that 3 more airdrops were larger than it. Of course, compared to the rest, Uniswap's airdrop of more than $6 billion looks unattainable today.

Yeah saw that...  I'm lucky enough to be eligible in Arbitrum's airdrop as it was totally unexpected for me.  I didn't even think about a lot about airdrops until I got in one.  Cheesy  Now I'm like checking out some protocols and find out if it's worth it in trying to be eligible.  I think most of them aren't really worth it.  I'm kinda waiting for Layer Zero and if I'm  not eligible then I move on and focus on Monad.  I think their testnet will be online around Jan or Feb next year.

There's also a couple of AI projects that could be worthwhile for airdrops.  Gensyn and Ritual.  You need a rig to participate tho.  They need people to supply them with computing power for their AI and ML testnets.
