That's utter nonsense. What has the price of an inactive and mostly abandonned project (like LTC) to do with a Bitcoin reward halving? The answer is nothing. It's not even sure, if LTC will still be a Top 30 coin until then.

Ich habe vor knapp 2 Tagen, in dem englischen Hauptthread von Ethereum fünf einfache, grundlegende Fragen gestellt (vergleiche: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=428589.msg10665805#msg10665805). Und bis jetzt keine Antwort erhalten. Tja, das wirft natürlich jetzt Fragen auf, wie dies sein kann.
(Vor allem: Wie groß ist die Ethereum Community wirklich? Kennt sich überhaupt irgendjemand in dem Projekt aus? Warum weiß das niemand?)

Point 2 and 3 are very basic general knowledge.
(AFAIK at least for everybody with an professional or educational business background or everyone doing systematic research (or just longer thinking) about altcoins & crypto currencies.)

Meiner Meinung nach, reicht in der Summe das vorgestellte Feature Set und der Innovationsgrad (zitiertes Posting jabo38), nicht aus um damit erfolgreich im Markt(segment) universelle Crypto Currency bestehen zu können.
Gründe: 1.) zu starke Konkurrenzituation (aktuell & zukünftig) 2.) zu geringe Aufmerksamkeitsspanne in der Szene

In einfachem Deutsch: "bis Mitte 2016, werden vermutlich 10 bis 15 vergleichbare Projekte gestartet werden, die vergleichbare oder stärkere/bessere Feature (Sets) enthalten, dann wird sich niemand mehr für NEM interessieren".

Es ist alles schön (gedacht), gut gemeint & liest sich nett, aber letzendlich fehlen auch einfach richtige Killer-Features - die, die Leute wirklich wollen - und echte(!), nachhaltig verteidigbare Alleinstellungsmerkmale.

Folgendes seh ich bei DarkCoin zumindestens hinterfragenswert:

1.) jetzige Design skaliert nicht endlos/beinhaltet inhärente Grenzen (die gar nicht mal so weit weg sind), diese Regel "min. 1000 DRK / Masternode" limitiert die Anzahl von Masternodes, zB. aktuell auf ca. 5200 (weil: 5174782 DRK sind emittiert), das Netzwerk kann nicht frei & schrankenlos wachsen mit den aktuellen Regeln
--> die Coin wird auch unbrauchbar(er)/weniger nutzbar als (Transaktions-)Währung, wenn sehr hohe Prozentzahlen der bis zu fast allen Coins fest nicht verwendbar sind (weil sie "locked" sind für MN)
--> Eignung als CryptoCurrency geht eben verloren/verringert sich
--> hinterfragenswert auf jedenfall wenn die Regeln geändert werden müssen, wie kann man hier einen fairen Konsensus aller Projekt- & Coin-Stakeholder erreichen

2.) es fehlt eine klare langfristige, strategische Roadmap (der Software- & Design-Entwicklung), Stichpunkte: Reward-Verteilung, Abschaffung Full Nodes zugunsten von MasterNodes?, Mindesteinlage für MasterNodes, Gebühren-Setup/-Design, Feature-Integration (hab bspw. irgendwo mal gelesen ein Chatclient soll integriert werden), etc. ...

3.) (meiner Ansicht nach) ist der Projektführungs- & -entscheidungsprozess im Projekt noch zu führer-zentrisch auf Evan Duffield zu geschnitten, im Vergleich zu den großen, erfolgreichen innovativen freien Projekten
konkret z.B. Bitcoin, Debian und TOR werden zB. demokratischer (& offener, transparenter) geführt
[meiner Meinung nach zudem ebenso: Monero]


Dies sind alles dreis keine Punkte, die in unveränderbar in Stein gemeißelt sind oder No Go-Kriterien darstellen, aber sie sind (zumindest meiner Meinung nach) mal hinterfragenswert.

Wie gesagt, diese Monero vs. Dark-Streitereien sind höchst unsinnig.

Vermutlich ist aktuelle Konkurrenzsituation, so wie sie jetzt ist (zwei starke Projekte mit ähnlichem Zielmarkt), gerade forschritts-, innovations- & adaptionsfördernd.
So wie "BMW vs. Mercedes" im Automarkt und "Lidl vs. Aldi" im Lebensmitteldiscount-Segment beide Unternehmen zu Höchstleistungen antreibt und beflügelt.

Wer open minded und intelligent ist, denkt ja vielleicht schon an denkbare Szenarien, wie Koopetition ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coopetition & http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koopetition ) zwischen den Projekten irgendwann.

- Is Ether supposed to be a [network] token (like Ripples) or a real cryptocurrency aka coin (like Bitcoin)?

- Is Ethereum multi currency capable or does the network/system/code only support one currency? Ether? Do they have something like NXT people call: Monetary System? (See: http://nxt.org/about/monetary-system/)

- How are these shares of the Ethereum Coperation in Switzerland called that were sold some months/weeks ago? (Is the sale still open? Do theses share pay dividends?)

- What's the purpose of this Ethereum Coperation in Switzerland? Is this an for-profit operation?

- Will there be an meaningful & influential Ethereum Foundation?

Yes, I think this is best decision and the current project strategy anyway.
(All other) Classic project marketing efforts and promotion is also scheduled to start, when Monero is ready to use.

Professional marketing, towards the important targeted customer groups, all relevant market participants or the general public, should start when you have build a good, convincing product (that is fully developed, easy to use and easy to get).
To build an good & demanded product, is the best marketing strategy & instrument to have.

Advertising something that isn't avaible (with the promoted features & benefits) is bad for two reasons:
- people will have forgotten about your project and your great marketing campaign, once your software is finally ready, the marketing efforts will turn out be useless or an 99% wastement of ressources (also if u do promotion earlier, you have no increased intrest spike on your release day -> no users, way less users versus an scenario, where the software would have been ready to use, at the time the marketing messages were received at customer side)

- something marketed being not avaible or offering buggy products creates a bad project image and hinder adoption & community development
- most people, esp. Early Adopters just shortly test an new project, if its buggy and not well-engineered for its proposed use case, they will come to the decision that the projects and its software sucks (most of them keep this bad judgement forever and will also communicate it to others)


Once again: To have the best product, is the very, very best marketing.

Price should not be raised (to) big. Alot of projects have problems with over-rich, lazy, nothing contributing, innovation-blocking early adopters.

They harm the projects in multiple obvious ways. I don't even need to name them. Everyone with open eyes and mind sees them.

I think optimizing the economics and financial stats (like price) - that have big influence of XMRs (real usage) functions of money - should wait till the software and ecosystem development is more advanced. And the coin enters a stage were real-world, organic XMR E-Commerce/usage is possible and reasonable to try.

The tech, software and ecosystem must be (nearly) ready, before we can try to shape the financials in the best way for sustainability & long-term success.

I don't think Monero misses out on intelligent talent and possible good contributors, because of it's current price/price-development.
It keeps away the loud & toxic part of altcoiners, who are today often immoral, greedy, non technical oriented and not even short term interested in the coins they buy, pump some time & dump away. All they care about is their personal $$$$$ gain.

We firstly need (people who want) to build the best privacy-centric crypto-currency, to attract & keep end-users, skilled contributers, investors, press & co. This is way better then try to growth by optimizing the price development charts to attract interest.

We should only react and do something, when we clearly notice the project and it's organic adoption is explicit harmed - by whatever characteristic financial numbers/developments - and would benefit from coordinated project-wide efforts, to improve the problematic numbers.
