441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 26, 2021, 05:54:09 PM
Well , besides LOL , there is really nothing to watch in this period. Personally , I don't like LOL but I do like TFT from that game even if I barely have any time to open any game and when I do , usually won't last long.

Are there any big major incoming in CS:GO ? I know that in Dota we won't have any big tournaments before TI in October.
Try Valorant! Stage 3 challengers are happening right now and I'm wondering why VALORANT isn't included in the OP because it's the mainstream game right now and a lot of tournaments happened recently. Even the popular streamers of twitch are playing Valorant and having watch party on VCT Challengers 2 and now I'm waiting for VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: North America Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs. and next is the VCT Berlin Masters! A lot of tournaments are waiting so I hope that those popular platforms mentioned have VALORANT bettings.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 26, 2021, 05:27:54 PM
Maybe I will give it 60% true. Why? Because Manny today will only fight boxers if the price is right. He's already graduated from fighting with a small paycheck because he now reached the Legendary status. He's a businessman. He won't risk his old body to fight without something good in return.
Agreed, he's at a different level today, and as someone who started from the bottom, he'll be pragmatic and choose a fighter with a fair and large price because he's a Senator and a businessman right now with a large responsibilities, very different from the past. He won't risk himself for this fight since he doesn't need any titles because he's already accomplished everything in boxing, and he knows that boxing is mostly driven by money, so he'll give it a go if the stakes are high enough. Manny has already won the most prestigious title in boxing, "PEOPLE'S CHAMPION," and we will never forget the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: July 26, 2021, 05:05:56 PM
The price does not change my way of betting: first of all, I only bet with fiat money, no more crypto and secondly my budget for that is very low. And I am not a regular anymore as I used to bet basically every week while now I bet every once in a while when I feel myself inspired. I wasted huge loads of money on gambling and I would rather learn from that experience.
At least, you know what currency you will use to gamble, and that does not impact your way to gamble. Using fiat money, I think we can clearly see how much money we want to gamble and not gamble more than we can afford. That will prevent us from adding more money unless we are curious about the game and still want to test our luck. But that will be the way for us to get more losses. Yes, we already got so much experience from gambling and it will be better if we can prevent the loss anymore.
It was a deliberate choice to avoid any big betting with crypto. Considering what happened to me in the past, when crypto prices were orders of magnitude less than what they are today, I cannot make mistakes. That is why, if I bet, and usually now it is mostly for fun, it is only via fiat money. The first shitcoin, is always the best to gamble with.  Grin
It's not possible to gamble a shit coin because gambling sites do not accept it, they only accept coins that have a high volume in exchanges for liquidity, so no chance mate. When you are gambling, treat it like you also want to win although most of us just consider it as a fun activity. Well, if you really want to ensure you'll not worry about volatility, fiat money is always the best option, or use a stable coin if you stick in crypto casinos.
The only meme coin that I know is being accepted in gambling platforms is Dogecoin, transaction fees are very cheap compare to BTC which is the major crypto being used in most of the gambling platforms. I also prefer LTC and if no other choice, you can go with ETH. Shitcoins aren't stable, most of the time it's being dumped by the devs and doesn't have any use case so why does a gambling platform will use it as a payment option? it makes no sense.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to seek help if you need; concerned with gambling addiction. on: July 26, 2021, 04:14:17 PM
It is true.

If you cannot voice out your problem and tell it to anyone, you're going to feel more anxiety and you're needing more help because of that. That's why getting help from your family is still another good choice.

But it's best to seek professional help after you get some help from your family.
Before reaching out into your family for your problem should be on next after you do find out that you cant really solve out the issue on your own because the one who could really solve
out that problem would really be starting for yourself. If you do find out that you arent able to do so then thats the time you would be seeking help from others and yes it is a shameful
thing and some do still raise up their ego or pride and wont be asking out any help from others and would tend to hide out from themselves.
Treating gambling addiction is something that cant be solved out easily.
Yes, it's already the case when you can't solve your problem about addiction.

There's a way to solve it on your own but not all of us have the same strength in conquering about it. As for solving it on your own, it's hard to do that because you're fighting on your own.

And we know that it's harder when you know that you've already accepted it that you can't.
Addiction isn't a normal mental issue because most of the people that are getting addicted are having a hard time recovering, some take years. Yes, there will be always a solution to your problem but not all have the same phasing of recovery because addiction can't be removed if you don't have discipline.

There are many solutions out there, don't surrender on yourself, you can ask help to your relatives so they can help you with the routines, have time with your family.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on friendly matches on: July 26, 2021, 02:57:12 PM
As said by the OP, no betting is risk-free but I still consider gambling on friendly matches to be less risky because there won't be much pressure in terms of having game fever, overbetting the amount you can't afford to lose, and there is usually ease of mind in throughout the game result. However, people still need to be sure about the possible winning team before betting on a friendly match.

Can't agree. Friendly matches is high risk activity. Because you never know how much any team is motivated for winning. In ordinary match you know that both teams are highly motivated to win and you can't ignore this question and concentrate on players stats, team history and so on. But in friendly matches you need to depend on very abstract term of "motivation" which you can't measure in any way.
More things to pay attention - harder to predict.
I agree with what you point out about not knowing the team motivate for winning the friendly game but sports betting is not for all gamblers but people who are consistent about the situation that revolves in the game of sport and it is not reasonable to bet on the game you don't understand the motivate or previous history of the team in winning friendly matches.
I don't consider a friendly match to be hard to predict.
Friendly match arent really hard to predict but somehow it is really somewhat giving off that random result since underdogs could mostly beat up the favorite or higher or better teams
since not all of them would really be giving out their best into the game.Motivation to win is something lacking into this kind of game since its not recorded nor official
then you would really be expecting those kind of performances. Its just normal that you would really be considering out on betting on games which you do know
or included into your interest because betting into something which is out of that line would turn out on not to be entertaining.

You say they are not really hard to predict? What do you base your argument on? I find them very hard to predict as you never really know what the coaches are going to do in half-time, whether they send a completely different squad out on the pitch. There are so many variables in friendly matches that they are harder to predict than serious games in my opinion.
Agree with you, scrims or friendly matches are the matches where we can see or discover a lot of extreme or amazing moves and strategies because players are comfortable to show-off than the actual match. So for me, friendly matches or scrims are also tournaments that is also hard to predict because players will still do their best but less pressure, amazing moves are being discovered there. Serious games or actual games are very predictable especially if the match that aren't really balanced and sometimes you'll know from the start of the game if someone's not performing well.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: July 26, 2021, 02:31:12 PM
I think in addition to limiting the budget for games there is another good way to minimize the emergence of gambling addiction. It is about abstaining from any gambling for a certain period (everyone defines this period independently).

For example, if you usually play once a week on Sundays then try to abstain from playing on the next Sunday and devote this time to family friends or other favorite things.

A good suggestion to even get out of addiction. If one is able to successfully follow what you said, then slowly he can try to avoid multiple attempts. Its not going to happen over night , but yes it would be easier when its practiced constantly. Instead of separating a percentage of income for gambling, its well appreciated that this percentage is spent for other good things which would really satisfy the family. Slowly the percentage amount taken for gambling can be reduced and diverted into some other priority stuffs.
Yes, it is preferable to practice and keep self-discipline so that you can concentrate on other things except gambling. It is extremely difficult to recover from addiction, but if you put forth the effort and time to help others, you will be successful. There are several ways to spend your money, as well as numerous forms of amusement that will improve your mental health. Gambling should be entertaining for you, not a way to get rich or make money by chasing the win because, in that way, it'll trigger your addiction to gambling.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ethics of boxing and gambling on: July 26, 2021, 01:44:56 PM
I know many people bet on boxing matches and I recently saw a post on an "slapping tournament". I was thinking that professional boxing is kind of questionable as a sport discipline and even more so as a gambling event. It is known that many boxers sustain long term effects of repeated micro-trauma and even some have been know to die in the ring. For all boxing fans and for others that may have a view on this, how is this being considered a fully legal activity being supported? And how is betting of people hitting each other being considered as legal and ethical in today´s world?
If you only know or are familiar with how other MMA sports can result in an athlete's abrupt death, it's different level too. Boxing is equally tough, but when compared to the boxing of the past, it is far more bloody, and many athletes have died as a result of boxing. The current era of boxing right now is in high ground, it was running by the money, now related to business and promotions, everyone's showing skill but the winner is already marked. So I don't have any problems in the slapping tournament, for sure those who're joining that tournament are well trained and prolly have a good physical body to endure the pain but yeah, still dangerous tho like other MMA sports.
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: July 26, 2021, 11:24:16 AM
There used to be a lot of people who didn't know bitcoin. But since the 2021 bullrun, many people are already familiar with bitcoin. But still many people are still not aware of the technology that is in bitcoin. They just think of bitcoin as gambling. I'm sure they will all understand.
It's true that in my country there are still many who don't understand bitcoin.. However, this year there have been many important people such as artists, youtubers, or other celebgrams who already understand a little about bitcoin. Because they are more or less ordinary people also know bitcoin even though they don't know it fully.

Of those you mentioned, let's be honest here many of them jumped onto the bandwagon because they realized there is money to be made, especially when you got some reach on social media like Instagram. Some of them even launched their own coin, but seriously why would you entrust your money with a person that usually posts half naked pics on Instagram? ... For them it is not about spreading the word because they understand decentralization, it is about spreading the word because at the end of their promotion you'll get a code that you should use to buy crypto in order to make them rich.
I believe that the majority of folks who invested in cryptocurrency were just intrigued and wanted to take advantage of the potential to make money by investing. If no one is seeking to enter the market, the market will remain stable, with only a modest proportion of 24 hour gain/loss. So I don't think that jumping on the crypto bandwagon is a terrible thing; it helps the community expand, and most of us will profit if we enter and exit at the proper times, It's fine to go FOMO with good research. On the other hand, if you don't do any research, you'll be in big trouble. You shouldn't enter if it's merely a very shitcoin that'll probably rug pull soon or devs will leave after gaining.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to the coins after your death ? on: July 26, 2021, 10:48:43 AM
In most of the cases when the person dies, his crypto would become useless if his family member do not know about his keys.

I do not usually tell my password or keys to anyone and i know majority of the people don't do this. We are being taught to keep the keys safe.
No one think that one day he will die and in that case, his family won't be able to use those savings (bitcoin/crypto) if they don't know the keys.
Also people won't like to share keys with siblings or wife because they can misuse them . So what could be the solution to this  Huh
I thought about that long after we had children. And now I've been teaching my wife about my job, about bitcoin and others. We have to trust each other, if with your wife you don't trust her by giving her the password it's your risk. The coins you save will not be useful later for loved ones. So I've set it all up, gave my wife the passcode. Because I believe and believe in my wife.

Smiley Nice words and in fact whom are you going to trust if not your wife in a healthy relationship? Wouldn't share it with her if she was soon going to be my ex-wife, but that is not how you enter a marriage right? Tongue Someone should know where and how to access your digital assets. It is a damn pity if you have a fortune lying around and your children grow up and can't benefit from it. That is not what a father would ever intend anyway.
Agreed, keep your time towards a happy and strong relationship first so you have someone to lean on in those situations. Yes, you have relatives, but if you're starting a family, be sure she'll be the one to stay by you until the end, and that you can trust him with such valuables. Make sure that everything is in order because we never know when we may die, and if no one has access to our wallets, it will be difficult to recover them, and if we can't, those cryptos will be lost forever. So everything on me is perfect right now because I want someone to benefit from it if incase I die, but my family comes first.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will never be gone on: July 26, 2021, 09:38:29 AM
...
It's fine to believe that bitcoin will last forever because we already know that things are going well and that everything is in the proper phase. However, there are numerous "what ifs" in the crypto world, such as what if the internet is wiped, and cryptocurrency is also doomed. Bitcoin has accomplished a lot in the last few years; many people have adopted it and some have even copied its technology; therefore, it is logical that it will continue to exist because the technology behind it is already spreading around the world, with more projects and research being undertaken. Bitcoin is the new meta! take note of that.
2021 on: July 26, 2021, 09:27:07 AM

452  Local / Pamilihan / Re: GCash is planning to add cryptocurrencies! on: July 25, 2021, 11:48:02 PM
Nice! Im a gcash user at madalas ko talagang gamitin anvgcash sa ibat ibang transactions dahil sobrang dali gamitin at walang fees if gcash to gcash ang transaction.

Let see if my good developments sa plano nato in future dahil dadami talaga user ni gcash if nangyari to.
453  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panahon Na Nga Ba Maging "Cashless Society" ang Pilipinas? on: July 25, 2021, 10:27:14 PM
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler? on: July 25, 2021, 05:21:57 PM
It is meant to be the house has the edge and it could happen anytime you are playing the longer you play the more the house can take over your bankroll, so only play with money that you can afford to lose and treat gambling as entertainment it's hard to accept it if you want to make money from gambling because you really can't.
I'm still perplexed as to why some people regard gambling as a viable means of earning money, despite the fact that it is neither practical nor efficient, and it carries a significant risk of financial loss. Gambling, in my opinion, was created for amusement; you don't need to have a lot of information about it; simply wager on what you think will happen, and the outcome will be 50-50. So basically, everyone here should have the mindset of "play with the money you can afford to lose." It's evident that house edges have the benefit, and it's a business after all, so you need to make sensible decisions, take profit if you've already won, and have a great game.
455  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: July 25, 2021, 04:54:44 PM
World fully victimed and coronavirus pandemic situations still have affected. So world economic conditions becoming worse and out of control. Some countries already taken actions against economic impact.
It's not like the damage would stay forever, you already said it, that the countries are taking actions to help with alleviating the impact of the pandemic. I think that as the world recovers from the pandemic, we will see countries from slowly recovering from the damages.
Many countries have recovered from Covid, and I am happy because my country is also showing signs of recovery, the most important thing to recover is the people's compliance with government rules, I am sure in a year the economy will improve soon.
Those people that are in countries that are already recovered from COVID-19 are very lucky because they already recovered from this situation we are facing right now. Many are dying every day and some countries can't really handle those situations and some politicians are taking advantage of the situation by being a capitalist. I hope that most of the government are making an actions to solve this problem especially in the third world countries because I guess they're the countries that is suffering a lot in this pandemic.
456  Economy / Economics / Re: What event could trigger new bull run and ATHs? on: July 25, 2021, 04:35:26 PM
Could it be the single billionaire whale entering the market?
Elon musk already entered the crypto market and recently manipulated it through tweets.  Roll Eyes
Could it be the fiat-to-crypto major exchange pairings?
I think this is one of the possible that will make crypto trigger another ATH but of course, it won't happen.
Could it be the major company, such as TESLA or Facebook or Amazon introducing their own coin?
Facebook already made a coin last time, it's called Libra but now diem. Idk if TESLA will create their own coin, the only thing I'm sure is they will use DOGE Smiley
Could it be the some major company such as Ebay or Amazon accepting crypto payments?
Yeah, possible too but it will take a lot of time before it happens, I've noticed that only few major platforms that are accepting crypto so it will take more time for Amazon and Ebay if the majority is still not accepting.
457  Economy / Economics / Re: End Game? on: July 25, 2021, 04:08:45 PM
If merchants start to give discounts for people that pay in Bitcoin ... adoption will increase and this experiment will succeed. (Most merchants can give a little "reward" or "incentive" for people paying with Bitcoin.. because they are saving on Banking fees and handling fees with Fiat)  Wink
I doubt some will provide discounts in BTC because that is what they require and will keep in case another ATH occurs. Perhaps promotions such as offering them more or perks, reward or incentive, such as what you've mentioned, are better if they pay with bitcoin, as this will encourage more people to utilize cryptocurrencies.

Another point is that I believe banking costs are cheaper than BTC, yet BTC is sometimes cheaper than fiat, if a market meltdown occurs, it will always depend on BTC.
458  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is key to the future of Twitter, Jack Dorsey says on: July 25, 2021, 01:18:50 PM
I really like how Jack Dorsey endorsed crypto in the public as the CEO of a leading social platform here on the internet, unlike other platforms that ban crypto in their platform. It's very interesting since it's rare that some popular people really support cryptocurrency because some are still not aware of BTC's potential and are scared to enter crypto. This is another opportunity to make crypto grow and because of that, more people will still invest and pump the prices of all the crypto. Cryptocurrency is very popular on Twitter, it's one of the main communities being used and you can notice that a lot of analyses, airdrops, and ideas about crypto are being tweeted there.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fate or lack of control - Gambling on: July 25, 2021, 11:23:10 AM
Some used to pacify themselves with the term it is their fate to loss in gambling. Some say it is the lack of control that makes them loss big. Here I'm taking this into discussion relative to the game - Dice.

Same as this some used to mention winning as fate and some term the same as luck. I believe win out of dice is trick, and right exit strategy.

What is the truth in this regard, because users like me are always go lack of control even when luck is on our side. End of the day used to pacify thyself terming it as our fate and move on. Hope you guys don't do this mistake. Cry Cry
The reality in gambling is that we must execute and exit effectively in order to profit after gambling. It's almost like trading: if you're already on the edge, take a profit and wait for another chance to enter and play. Some people are so greedy that they forget to keep track of their finances and wind up broke as a result of their willingness to risk everything in the hopes of a big victory.

That's a mistaken perspective; gambling isn't for individuals looking to make a profit because winning isn't always guaranteed, and you can't make a passive profit because losing streaks can occur. People should know that having control, taking profit when they already won and having an exact amount that's allocated for gambling, for short, have discipline in playing.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything like excess gambling on: July 25, 2021, 09:38:00 AM
Some people could bet without even knowing the amount of time and money they have invested in gambling which could look obvious and call for estimation. I gamble a lot and sometimes I don't even know if it's becoming excess not.
Gamblers do not calculate their losses, in the long run, all they want is to chase their losses because this is what matters to them it's not the money that they are going to use but it's more on getting on the ride or process of the feeling of excitement on every bet, they will only find out the losses after they cannot fund their gambling account or they can't keep up their bankroll, that's when they know that they are playing excesively.
That is one of the most common mistakes made by everyone who becomes addicted to gambling. It's not a good idea to pursue your losses because it will often, if not always, make matters worse, such as if you're on a losing streak. If you think it's enough, stop because you've already lost a lot of money and it's not a good idea to spend the remainder hoping for a big gain. Make sure that your gambling activity is balanced, and that you keep track of your gaming budget so that you don't lose a lot of money. Always keep your emotions in check; if you allow them to consume you and you wind up betting without making a sound judgment, it will wreck your life.
