461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The way things are going with new crypto is worrisome on: March 16, 2022, 09:15:06 AM
Almost everyone I knew now creates their own tokens  Grin these guys aren't even crypto developers to begin with, they have no coding experience or knowledge now this makes me worry, imagine how many crypto tokens that are created by inexperienced personal, I think we need to buckle up for there will be huge rain of scam tokens upon us than what we've seen before...... Sigh! I wish that only few qualified people knew how to build blockchain projects.
Well nowadays we have places where people can just teach themselves how to build cryptocurrency tokens but if this was for educational purposes only wouldn't have been a problem, but we have seen the surge of these new tokens into the crypto market all for the purpose of ripping people off their hard-earned money and most investors too don't try to do the needful of verifying these new projects. This will continue cos I don't think it can be stopped as the space is decentralized.
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: long period staking in Binance exchange on: March 16, 2022, 08:53:33 AM
Did you stake your altcoins for long period in Binance? I know its good to stake your coins to earn more but is it okay to stake it for long period in exchanges? Mostly it is highly recommended to store your coins in non- custodial or hardware wallets, but how about stake it for long period, is it recommended too?
I don't really do staking and wouldn't recommend for a longer period I however have some of my Alts in Binance staked in the flexible stake because I want to be able to move them or Sell anytime I want but since the market is down now and I want to have those in the exchange but won't do a lock-up for a long period of time.
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & California on: March 16, 2022, 08:39:12 AM
Does Bitcoin need to be a legal tender in order to be successful?

Do we need to wait for approval from a centralized body like Government in order to start feeling secure about using a decentralized cryptocurrency whose purpose of creation was to initially get rid of that centralized corruptible middle man (Read government/central banks)?
You are absolutely right but the problem remains that, some people are thinking this is the way to verify the global acceptance of Bitcoin. I would say that Bitcoin has been successful even before a country like El Salvador made it a legal tender but the upside would be, with Bitcoin being accepted as a legal tender by most governments the adoption would further push demand which will affect the price +vely.
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its time to go in crypto lets leave fiat cutrency on: March 16, 2022, 08:11:25 AM
Right now the most affected by the war would still be the Ukrainians and the Russians. There is no harm in converting some of your assets into bitcoins, but going all in would still be pretty sketchy at this moment since the world is still reliant on fiat currencies. You would find it hard to buy necessities using bitcoins at this point, and it's mainly for storage of value too. It's a smart move for keeping assets, but somewhere down the line you would need to convert to fiat if you want to buy some thing still.
I agree and want to believe that this is the whole essence of Bitcoin, hedge against Fiat inflation. It is always a wise decision to invest in bitcoin and other major Alts especially when the market has seen this percentage of dip and for some cryptos, more than -50% dip from their ATH prices however, I do agree that purchasing daily needs with Bitcoin or other Alts for that matter is still not completely possible so we still need the fiat fo such.
465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Comparing the previous bear run of Market on: March 16, 2022, 07:34:19 AM
I would like to follow the market trends with great interest and compare the current market price movements after the end of 2021 with previous bearish trends such as the 2018 bear market. I think the cryptocurrency bearish trend may have changed the pattern and took another dimension. . If you've been following the market trends, you've probably noticed that what's happening in the market right now is different from the 2018 downtrend, but yet another sign of a bearish move. What is your opinion

I think it's the same but the price is different as you can see right now, the price was cut more than half from its ATH last year. It was the same from last 2018 right?
Just don't expect it to go down to less than $10,000 again because it won't gonna happen after bitcoin halving. This is its new bearish market and yes! an opportunity for you to buy if you planned to hold for so long or just sold it just after another bitcoin halving like we had last time.
I do agree with you here. If you look at the pattern of rise to its ATH in 2017 and drop, it almost seems like the same only that we do understand that the price of BTC ATH in 2017 is different from the last 2021 ATH

Now we could say we have a lot more BTC awareness and adoption now so this might determine the difference in the duration this bear market might drag out instead of the maybe 4-year circle of the past.
466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upliftment of Crypto Ban of Nigerian Banks on: March 14, 2022, 09:06:10 AM
People are suffering out of inflation already and I have seen pictures floating around the internet where people of Nigeria are carrying million of niagra in cement truck with most of the physical notes lying around etc. This means it has no value at all.

TOP 10 – The Weakest World Currencies in 2021 From this post, you will notice that Nigeria is not in the top 10 countries listed here.
This is obvious that you did not read the article about whatever picture you saw on the internet about the million Naira in cement trucks. Most of those publications were mostly about corrupt politicians that were caught with a stash of monies and if you check properly it is not only in nairas but in US Dollars as well and it wasn't about because the countries currency has no value even though we know there is inflation too. The Government knows why they might not want to uplift the crypto ban and the citizens know that too, regardless, the people are still in it big.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Wont Sell his Bitcoin on: March 14, 2022, 08:46:12 AM
I hate the way he’s grouped Doge in with Bitcoin and Ethereum. Perhaps in a devious way he’s trying to associate Doge with the big players in the crypto game ? I’m sure he knows the difference between Bitcoin and Doge and perhaps he’s realised he’s got millions of useless and pointless Doge and is working on a way of dumping it  Smiley
I believe you are right and no wonder that we can see some posts here where people now want to believe that Dogecoin is equal to Bitcoin because of people like Elon Musk and his Dogecoin rhetorics. I believe he feels if he throws Dogecoin in the same sentence with Bitcoin and Ethereum and something might happen with the price, else he would have just tweeted about Doge alone even though I don't think his focus is about selling but Hyping Dogecoin again.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This Odd Job Would Have Put Thousands of Dollars in BTC in My Wallet on: March 14, 2022, 08:35:46 AM
You accept it or not, people will still lose money. That is how investing works but if that actually happened, kudos to you for picking your peace of mind rather than a short-period worth of money, which can be used to maybe invest in some of the interesting NFTs or cryptos you have in mind but never mind.

I think people nowadays won't be falling to these kinds of tactics, right?
Just took the words right of me. I believe someone else must have done that job already and most likely for less than what the OP was offered and this is the faith crypto investors fall into especially those that are looking for shining projects from crypto influencers online and why some will rather only invest in already established projects in the market. Weldon OP for turning it down regardless.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TALK token good to invest ? possible X50 increase after listing in DEFI ? on: March 14, 2022, 07:52:47 AM
Hi guys you think TALK token good to invest at current price ? You think the price can jump to 10 sat or higher ?

https://yobit.net/en/trade/TALK/BTC

https://yobit.io/en/trade/TALK/BTC

TALK is cryptotalk forum official token they said they will be good news and updates

that will make the price increase highly do you think we should buy it at 1 sat and hold ?

Update: Good news about TALK it may be listed in DEFI market as cryptotalk devs said

This means there is no good information yet that can convince any investors on why they should invest because for me, I believe there is always this notion of DYOR and even if you wanted to, what are you doing to find convincing about the project other than it is a token of a talk forum? And secondly, trying to convince that there is going to be news that will pump the price which is also a Red flag for me.

471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from crypto influencers on: March 12, 2022, 07:27:44 AM
Stop following crypto influencers, those of you who like using YouTube videos to pick coins and tokens to invest in you need to hear this, those crypto influencers on YouTube are getting paid to promote those projects they are chilling, why would they promise you 2x or 5x when they aren't part of the team themselves? They did this because that's how they make their own money. He who have hears let him hear.
It doesn't matter whether they are on youtube or other platforms, the question is, are crypto investors even trying to do the bearest minimum of researching the projects they hear others talking about? People come in here every day asking for what projects to invest in and I see others giving ideas and that's the same thing like those influencers on youtube  too but it is left for the investor to check out the project they intend to invest in.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin value more if no Altcoins or not on: March 12, 2022, 07:20:59 AM
How do you know if Bitcoin to have a bigger value once there are no altcoins?
Instead, I even think Bitcoin may have no value if there are no altcoins. Why? Bitcoin needs support to have value and it needs a comparison (another coin) to say it's bigger.

Name me right now the price of BTC in ETH DOGE or ADA without looking at CMC or without doing some math taking into account prices in USD.
Nobody cares about comparisons, nearly all the shitcoins about there are just money milking machines from so-called investors who think they have missed the BTC train and are hoping they put money in some 1000% per day return scheme.

What would be the sales volume of Mcdonald's if it would be the only fast-food chain?
How many Iponhes would Apple sell if it were the only company building phones?
What would be the market capitalization of Tesla if people would only be allowed to buy Tesla shares and nothing else?

If there were only bitcoin surely the growth could've been very low than the present.

lol

For example the Ethereum upgrade Bitcoin Blockchain by implementing smart contract which lead to multiple possibilities for innovation for the whole crypto market.

lol again
Well, maybe without Altcoins Bitcoin would have been stronger in the sense of investment, maybe all the Altcoins investments would have been put into Bitcoin, or maybe not. We cannot disqualify all Altcoins because we believe they are not worth investing in and that they are all shitcoins. This is still the Issue when within the ecosystem, investors see Alts as shit outside Bitcoin. I don't think any crypto enthusiast will contest Bitcoins position but there are also good Alts that have contributed to the ecosystem and maybe they should go side by side.

473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the price of BTC dropping? on: March 12, 2022, 06:58:43 AM
Seeming decline in the price of Bitcoin is becoming a cause for alarm, because investors and intending ones will be skeptical, preferring to wait to see if there will be a balance.
Although, the values of risky assets like the BTC tend to take a downward slope in the wake of the Federal Reserve making policy changes to more fiscally conservative. Also, measures enacted by the federal that are designed to control inflation have had a negative impact on the price of BTC.
More so, as Bitcoin matures and becomes more accepted and adopted, the price is increasingly correlated with the prices of traditional assets like stocks.
Though the rate at which the price of BTC is dropping, financial analyst and professional, Ric Edelman has urged investors to stay calm and not be in a hurry to sell of their BTC, assuring that there is a favorable look on the Bitcoin in the long term.
He went further to state that this is thr fifth time BTC price has fallen by 50% or more since it's inception in 2009.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $37,000 down approximately 45% from its high as posted in Nov. 2021. Are there provisions put in place to curtail this downward spiral? https://www.investopedia.com/why-is-bitcoin-price-dropping-5216985
What do you mean by "Are there provisions put in place to curtail this downward spiral" is Bitcoin some Government-issued assets that should be rescued by some policies to boost up the price? and this is the nature of the market. You should know that since the inception of Bitcoin back in 2009, it has actually been on a Bull run and still is if you look at it or haven't you seen the chart?
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billionaires and Bitcoin on: March 12, 2022, 06:48:55 AM
I do agree that this situation with the Russian Oligarch Sanctions from most parts of the world will definitely open up thoughts to other forms of investments especially Bitcoin Investment since sanctions on your country can affect you at no time even if you are not involved in Government, I imagine whet the ordinary Russian Citizens must be felling right now.
475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price. on: March 12, 2022, 06:31:41 AM
I voted "I don't think so", reason being, we are already in a bear market, so even if there is is no war, the price will have to go down deep and make a correction. So there is no all time high, but expect the price to plummet -50% from the last high we got from November. I don't want to be sounding like doom and gloom but that's how the market works, and the price won't go on parabolic rise. It will be bull run and then we have the bear market.

I do agree with you on this argument also. I made this post, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5388670.msg59451191#msg59451191 in another thread somedays ago also confirming this sentiment. Since the war or Invasion started, I don't think there has really been a significant downside or upside to Bitcoin's price than what the market has experienced days or weeks before the war. The price bottom since the Russian/Ukrain crises for BTC price was around $34k and the price was even a bit lower than that on the 24 Jan 2022 before the war, so I still say  I don't see that war effect on the Price of Bitcoin instead, I see BTC just taking it normal course.
476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba inu on: March 10, 2022, 07:29:50 PM
Shiba Inu is potential coins have trusted developer because they brave for listing as meme coin on Binance exchange market, not have any other meme coin brave for listing on bigger exchange because with trusted reputation I think Shia Inu developer really have good planning with their coin. I think as potential for the future with Shiba Inu coin for long term investment, although have drop drastically from all time high price still possibility for Shiba Inu coin reach to higher price again, maybe one year later as worth to see Shiba Inu can make new all time high price again.
I would guess that the money retail investors gave to Shiba Inu developers allowed that. After all, even if you are binance, you can still list projects based on the volume and the money they are willing to pay you. On average if you pay 250 to 300 bitcoins to Binance, you can get almost anything listed. Obviously it needs to be good enough to get listed on volume basis, but something that is the same exact volume as shiba may not get listed because it didn't pay.

So, Shiba could be good in a way, you could like it, but being listed on Binance is not a big deal, people allowed the owners to make a ton of money, thousands of bitcoins, tens of millions of dollars and this allowed them to get listed anywhere they want.
From @Jasad post, I don't believe that Shiba Inu is the only meme coin listed on Binance and other Bigger Exchanges, Dogecoin is too even though I am not a fan of both and I also agree with you in the case of all Shiba Inus listing. I believe they had the advantage of the volume by the Shiba community hence the constant listing by exchange without payment and in terms of project Dev, I think Shiba Inu is coming along better than Dogecoin and could possibly be worth more over the same life span as Dogecoin.
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin 🐕‍🦺 1$ possible in 2022 or not? on: March 10, 2022, 07:19:40 PM
The doge coin is the best currency. This is the current value of the currency 0.11. It is expected to go into a lot of hype by mid-2022 as it was 0.7 a few days ago. Now it has grown a lot. If it continues to grow in this way, it will definitely reach one dollar by 2022. It is a very popular coin that has spread a lot among everyone. That's why everyone holds so many coins.
I like that you mentioned "It is expected to go into a lot of hype " It is just all about hype and I would say once again, what do you think Elon musk can do that has not already been done? and it ATH was the $0.7 you mentioned and that was not some days ago, that was back on May 08, 2021
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stick to altcoins or switch to Bitcoin or stablecoins? on: March 09, 2022, 12:01:39 PM
The decision of whether to stick with altcoin or switch to Bitcoin or stablecoin is dependent on the strategy you wish to employ. I'm of the opinion that the best or most lucrative would be to convert to stable coin when we have falling prices and reinvest in altcoin or bitcoin when the value is lower.
Even though most regard Bitcoin as the best choice in cryptocurrency investments we do however understand that there are good Alts to invest in too and not unless you want to sell to protect loss of fund during market downside, stable coins ain't really an option for investment as you have said so if OP has the investment capability, both Bitcoin and Altcoins are good for investment you just have to enter the good ones.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police can confiscate refugees' valuables. bitcoin not affected... on: March 09, 2022, 11:50:19 AM

Memorizing seed would be the much-preferred way to be safe than writing it on paper. Checkpoints and border patrols are very curious about what you have in your belongings upon crossing. If they find anything of value like a hardware wallet that is something to keep. If it's a piece of paper, they will likely confiscate it and keep it for a while, complaining to get it back will make them more curious as to what's in it.

And could also be the most dangerous I must say because in a state of war your mind might be exhausted and there is a likely possibility to forget the whole words Shocked Shocked Shocked I believe there are also better ways of moving your phrase even in the few possessions you are moving with but certainly not written all in one place. But I want to believe in a state of war that is applicable to the Ukrainian citizens now, I don't think they will be subject to that law.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency will not save Russia from sanctions on: March 09, 2022, 11:36:37 AM
Of course. There are limits to what Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies could do. While the use of Bitcoin could probably ease the sanctions in certain aspects, it is helpless in many. After all, the sanctions are imposed on fiat accounts and banks and reserves. What could Bitcoin do, for example, if the Kremlin's hundreds of billions of US dollar in foreign reserve is frozen? How could Bitcoin be of help to the elites in Russia if the sanction is depriving them of access to their foreign bank accounts?
I do agree with your points here. If access to all or most of their funds have been blocked with all the sanctions imposed on them and the Country inclusive, how would they even buy the Bitcoins? I just saw it on CNN and read this on CoinDesk too that the US Senator Elizabeth Warren Drafting Bill to Ensure Crypto Can’t Be Used to Evade Sanctions I don't think there is any advantage that crypto can provide to the economy at this moment.
