481  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: December 31, 2013, 03:29:16 PM
Just got a new cube, ran great for like 20 min then would shut off.  Tried the other fuse and same thing happened again.  Noticed afterwards both fuses starting to burn/melt.  The fuses say 32v on them, are they stupposed to be 12v fuses?

My psu is 550w bronze rating, this psu has worked great on other miners.  Any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wattage doesn't really matter as much as Amps for these.  What is the amps on your 12V rail?

I haven't had any issues with the fuse on mine, but when I was trying to use a 630W PSU with +12V1@18A, +12V2@16A it would only stay powered for a few minutes before crashing.  I switched to a 850W PSU with +12V1@25A, +12V2@25A and it is working flawlessly for over 10 days now.

Someone posted earlier in this thread that they were succesfully running one on high on a single 12V rail @25A so I would assume that is the bar you would be shooting for...

Good luck!  These things are a little frustrating to get going.

Welp, I spent the last five or six hours searching, and got this far. Yay, me! Anyway, it is one cube on a Corsair CX600, doesn't seem to be any issue with power. Can anyone lend a hand here? Little to nothing is happening. Thanks, in advance!

The only thing I can think of is that your Gateway is blank.   Stranger solutions that I have seen include turning off the WiFi on your Android phones and closing your Bitcoin wallets.  Also, try another pool, like BTCGuild, and see if you have the same results.  Undecided

Not sure what your IP is because you blacked it out, but here is a picture that I made in my guide that I posted after I finally got mine to work:

483  Bitcoin / Mining / Network hashrate to triple in the next 45 days? How?? on: December 31, 2013, 03:02:43 PM
Next difficulty change:  Block #278208
Next difficulty projection:   1,393,489,370 @ 11:30PM CDT 1/1/2014 (+18%)
Actual difficulty after change: 1,418,481,395 @ 11:58PM CDT 1/1/2014 (+20%)

So I was off by ~24M, or 2%...

Based on my calculations, between 6/29/2013 and 12/21/2013 there were 16 difficulty jumps, averaging an increase of 28.75% in difficulty and a 29.12% increase in hashrate with each jump.

The current network hashrate is ~9.7 PH/s and if these increases continue at this pace then by February 14th, 2014 there will need to be a network hashrate of ~34.2 PH/s, an increase of over 250%.

So how big is an increase of 25 PH/s?  Well it depends a lot on how many ASICs are going to deliver in the next month.

ASIC Miner obviously is good on delivering their products, but they would need to release a ton of Cubes (657,895 to be exact) to make that type of dent in the hashrate.  CoinTerra looks promising but they haven't actually shipped a unit yet and don't plan to until March/April 2014.  Neither has HashFast, and they appear to be more of a concern of non-delivery judging from some of the posts that I have seen.

I can see the hashrate skyrocketing once the multi-TH/s units are actually being delivered, but as of now it looks to me like the difficulty is going to grow much more slowly than we have been seeing and maybe the 14% increases we saw in November will be similar for the next month or two.   We should know today or tomorrow, but I am guessing the next increase will only be ~15% and the following one should be even less than that.  Until the next generation of ASICs are actually plugged in and mining, I can't see these large increases sustaining.  I'd love to see a decrease in difficulty, but I am not sure that will ever happen again.  Until then I think we will all get to enjoy a good start to 2014 with small increases for at least the first two months.   There simply isn't enough power coming out in the next couple of months to increase the hashrate at the rates we have seen in the past 6 months.

So, yeah, tell me why I am wrong Cheesy

Hey and I'm sure you can use a drill bit to clean your ears but I would not recommend it.

Yeah because that is totally the same thing...  Roll Eyes

If you don't know what you are talking about, you really shouldn't be giving advice to people.

I do know what I'm talking about. blah blah blah *measures dick* blah blah blah!

No, you don't, or you would know that unpowered risers are completely fine for almost all 2-3 GPU builds.  Not everyone is running 4+ GPU builds.  Some people have old mobos sitting around with a couple of PCIe slots that these will run completely safe on.

You don't have to recommend it, but you shouldn't shit on something if you don't know what you are talking about.

Anyone using these are crazy, you need to have powered risers to mine otherwise... well.. keep a phone handy to call the local fire department.

I have never heard one person post on here about their mining rig catching on fire...

Also, no matter what you rig build is, you can always use a couple of unpowered risers.  Powered risers are needed for 4+ GPUs, but you can still use unpowered risers for a couple of slots.

I need 2, do you ship to canada?

Sure, two shipped to Canada will be $35.

I'll PM you payment info.

Update 3: passed customs and shipped to me, tracking number received  30-Dec-13

However, the tracking number was not found on the website.  Not too concerned as it sometimes takes a while to get added.

Don't forget to read the note in the update mail about that:)

Yeah, just read that and it says it can take 2-3 days to update.  No biggie.  I'm not actually ready for my rig yet anyways Cheesy

Probably be a couple more weeks before I have all of the parts in that I want to use for it.

Once I get the package I will post pictures in here since there seems to be a lot of assclowns trying to smear your name in this thread.

Sky post your damn order number already so he can post your tracking number, AS YOU ASKED. FFS. Bunch of crazy assholes in this thread. One guy opens an item not received case with paypal after 6 days. One guy refuses to post an order number when the seller is trying to respond. If you post an order number, or better yet a copy of your invoice, and he fails to respond... then I'd believe you.

No kidding. I'll definitely keep everybody updated as to my tracking number when I get it.  Does not seem like a scam to me and I will post pictures when I receive the goods.

493  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] batch #37 .85 btc per CUBE 30Gh/s - 38Gh/s on: December 29, 2013, 06:16:41 PM
re-opened.  I expect cubes to arrive Tuesday 12/31/2013.

the weight of 1 cube is 7 pounds for shipping.  1 label per cube. 8x8x8 box.

Price still 1BTC or has it been reduced?
494  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 1x to 16x PCI-e Risers for $15/ea (shipped) on: December 29, 2013, 06:15:16 PM
The powered ones will likely be $20 shipped depending on how the market is when they arrive.  I don't want to price gouge on the forums but if they are still selling at $40 on eBay when I receive them then I probably won't go lower than $20.

The 1x to 1x unpowered risers will be considerably cheaper, likely under $10, because the cost is a fraction of the cost of the power risers.

Still have 10 of these unpowered available.  Will be receiving 300 1x to 1x unpowered and 100 1x to 16x powered in the next couple of weeks.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [GROUP BUY] Alpha-T Scrypt Miners 25 MH/s on: December 27, 2013, 02:16:11 AM
I have a new technology that will hash Scrypt at 100 MH/s using only 75W of power.

Send me 0.5 BTC and I will tell you more! Cheesy
496  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: looking for 16x to 16x risers on: December 27, 2013, 12:35:12 AM
No need for 16x to 16x as 1x to 16x will do the same job with less restriction of air flow.

I have some available if you are interested.

4 for $50, 5 for $60, shipped USA
497  Economy / Marketplace / Re: In this thread is a link to some horny photos! They are NSFW! I like tips :) on: December 27, 2013, 12:31:15 AM

Most of the people in this thread would jizz themselves within seconds being as they are virgins. I'm not terribly into the whole bdsm scene but I think she'd be a sexy co-conspirator.

Could be wrong. I forgot that most of bitcointalk.org guys date supermodels and nothing less and aren't wanker virgins.

(not having a go at you btw just those (basement dwelling lollers)

Well, my wife is hotter so I would pass...

That is probably the first time I have said that about my wife in comparison to the naked women I see on the internet, too.

(thank God she steers clear of these forums Cheesy )

Eeek... feel sorry for anyone participating in this... clearly a scam.

Good luck dealing with all the angry people, OP!

Undecided

Just don't get this place sometimes. I wish I had that kind of money to burn.

No kidding... and I am sure someone is reading this and coming up with another scam that will be succesful on here...

People are so blinded by potential profits that they can't understand why it is clearly a scam.

25MH/s would generate over $200/day right now, and people think that a company would sell them for $2500?  Great business model... sell ASICs that ROI in 15 days instead of plugging them into a wall.   Roll Eyes
