481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitfinex is that much more than other sites? on: April 18, 2017, 02:29:56 PM
Because wire deposits are paused (https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/200).

Since people can neither deposit nor withdraw fiat, they:

- Buy BTC so that they can get their funds out, so the price goes up.
- Can't do arbitrage, because if they buy Bitcoin cheaper elsewhere to sell it at a higher price on Bitfinex their fiat will be stuck there.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][rICO]Antshares Blockchain Mainnet is ONLINE! on: April 18, 2017, 08:57:36 AM
I've been trying to claim my funds for 6 months, someone called "tats" on the Slack channel put me in contact with someone named Tony, who supposedly is on the Antshares team. Tony messaged my on Skype, I told him my situation and he never responded. It's been 5 days already. Is there a Tony on the Antshares team that anyone knows about?

That seems a bit fishy ... Anyway, if you are on Slack, try contacting wentao directly and whatever you do, in general, don't give your private key to anyone. And remember, if you already claimed through the ICO website, then your funds will have to be transferred to your address manually.

But I had the whole time $10 on this address I did not moved them to another address. And on the 10th April I moved all my funds to the linked address and moved them again some days later. What should I see on the blockchain explorer?(sorry for this dumb question but I really dont know, I looked but I dont know what you mean) Its definitely my address in the transition page and I have hold all my funds on the whole distribution day.. anyway It was not that much so I will just change and verify a new address and hope it will work. Thanks again!

What you did seems okay. I wanted you to check the history of your linked address to verify if it really had the funds before the snapshot's block. If you don't mind send me your linked Bitcoin address, I really want to understand what happened Smiley.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 17, 2017, 05:01:27 PM
i am happy i am still hold my byteball, did not sell any!

https://explorer.byteball.org/#N5M2V4ZV3GWBRIGPHKOIVFI54UHDDDGC

right now, it's become more..

1347GB.

will hold this until 15th April 2018.

i will hold Byteball/Qtum/Elastic in 2017.

How can you invest so much into a single coin? You must be richie rich Huh

BTCspace did not invest in Byteball, they only linked a 700+ BTC address in the first round and hodled. There are other first-round linked addresses with way more than that ... Also in the very early days, GBytes were way cheaper, you could get quite a lot for less than 0.01 BTC each, so an actual investor could've grabbed such an amount by investing less than 10 BTC and hodling through the rounds, which doesn't make them Richie Rich rich Wink.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 17, 2017, 01:03:01 PM
Yeah its my fault thought that this wallet would be fine. But I am confused now, I did the micropayment to link my Bitcoin address, then I got the confirmation from the transition bot(at this moment the balance was just 10 USD so he told me it is 0 BTC) and he told me to move all my coins to this address. And so I did one day before the last distribution. Is there something I did wrong? (ecept that I used wrong wallet) I just have to link a new BTC address for next distribution?
And I see my linked address Smiley but the Balance is 0 BTC.

Thanks for your help  Smiley

The bot told you 0 because it was actually 0 (not because it was just $10), because the funds moved to another address.

So if you did move the funds to your linked address one day before the distribution it should be fine ... however it's odd that it says 0 in the transition page. What does a blockchain explorer say about it?

If your address was refused it wouldn't be in the transition page to begin with, so there's something fishy here ...

(linking by micropayment + address in transition page displaying 0 = generally a change address issue)
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 17, 2017, 10:30:03 AM
Yes they were on the address that I linked. I did a micropayment, I payed 0.001497 BTC from my wallet on blockchain.info. Also got the confirmation from the transition bot after that. Can also show you a screenshot from conversation with transition bot. Really dont know why I did not receive any BB. But now I want to be sure to get some at the next round.
Maybe I use wrong wallet?

I've read in the past that some users had trouble using the wallet from blockchain.info ...

Anyway, in general, your remaining funds will be transferred to another address (change address) when you do a transaction (unless you configured your wallet otherwise), that's why the bot instructs you to send them back to the linked address. If you didn't do so, then there is a high chance your linked address had 0 BTC balance (by the way the bot also tells you this). Do you see your linked addresses here: http://transition.byteball.org?

À priori, il y aurait eu un différent entre National (le porteur du projet) et ses investisseurs, par conséquent, Sensus a été abandonné. Je vérouille ce fil de discussion pour l'instant.

Actually, adding blackbytes on an exchange is more complicated than adding a regular coin, because deposits and withdrawals won't be automatic, they would have to be processed manually or, using a bot, that would have to be developed for that purpose.

ah that makes sense as to why it isnt on an exchange. Are there any future plans to do so ? Im not selling it so I have time, just more interested in price discovery.

I don't know if anyone is working on a bot to deposit/withdraw in/from an exchange.

[I also wonder about Blackbytes when it will be listed on any exchange. I also would like keep hold my coins because interest is very impressive on this coin too.

Just a technicality, there is no interest on holding blackbytes (which is not a reason not to hold them Smiley). That's probably one reason why some people sell them for bytes ...

Do you think the reasons blackbytes are ridiculously cheap is  no  real exchange at the moment and maybe lack of knowledge of people who just see the white bytes on bittrex?  If the money suppley is 2:1 balck  to  white I feel  at some point there should be a massive price correction/discovery where blackbytes are worth maybe 25% of white bytes?

Not being easily exchangeable might be one reason, however, since holding bytes gives bytes in next rounds, people probably prefer selling blackbytes for bytes. Blackbytes are private and with TOR they become anonymous so, objectively, they could rise up ... (maybe once distribution is over)

Hi,

I'm using the Agama wallet (v0.1.6.2e-beta) on a Xubuntu 64-bit in Basilisk mode. I'm unable to send KMD. I select the Send From address, fill in the Send To and the amount to be sent, and leave the fee to the defaulting 0.0001, and then I click on Send. After that, I confirm, and it stays under the Processing Tx tab for a while, after that, it tells me that it could not generate the signed transaction. Thx for your help.

Go to 'Basilisk Actions' and click "clear & fetch basilisk data"

Let me know if that helps

Thank you for your reply, I actually tried sending a third time and the transaction went through. I'll keep your advice in mind next time I encounter a similar issue. Thx again.

Whos dick I gotta suck to get blackbytes on an exchange as well? I want a better price discovery mechanism than the slack.

I'm still waiting for my ico ANS.  I have submitted my claim twice.
I've contacted them through email, post in reddit, PM david in Reddit, and here.  Why don't they reply?  I'm giving them an opportunity to reply if they're legit.
Some others are having this same issue.

We want our ICO coins invested.

UPdate:  I tried tweeting them @antshares and still no response for 2 days now.  8 BTC invested in them is not a small amount.   It's been 2 weeks since I claimed my ICO and have tried to contact them in every way possible.

Did you try their slack? I haven't been there for quite some time, but back in the days they were quite responsive, try contacting wentao there. And by the way, after you claim, funds are supposed to be transferred to your address manually, so as long as no one does it, they won't show up.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 16, 2017, 03:15:13 PM
Hi,

For the 4th round I connected my wallet with one bitcoin address(blockchain.info) and the balance was just 0.3BTC but also in this case I should receive some BB? Cause I received nothing  Undecided

Technically, if your funds were on the address you linked, then you should've gotten your share.

How did you link your address? Did you do a micropayment? And if so, did you move your funds back to the address that the bot told you?

So should an investor keep their ANS on an exchange so they will be more liquid? If I brought them in to a wallet as ANC would I be able to easily convert them to ANS? It seems difficult to sell ANC directly.

ANS and ANC are two different cryptocurrencies, you don't convert ANC to ANS (or vice-versa). Think of ANC as a dividend given to you if you hold ANS.

If you keep your ANS in an exchange you'll be missing on ANC, because you won't be able to claim them.

Thanks, can you point me to a source that explains this? Also if I move my ANS to a local wallet and get the ANC, can I later move some or all of the ANS back to an exchange?

You can read the white paper starting from https://github.com/AntShares/AntShares/wiki/Whitepaper-1.1#j, it talks about ANS and their distribution, and ANC and their issuance.

Yes you can move your ANS later and keep your ANC. Actually the only way to claim ANC is to do ANS outgoing transactions (you can send them to your own address if you want).

Guys i have bought 1.5 Gbyte from Bittrex, but when i try to send them to my byteball wallet, it gives me invalid address
Did anyone faced the same issue?

How did you get your wallet's address, the address you tried to send to? (Remember that it's not the device address that you need but a Byteball address.)

Isn't the symbol ANS? I see some referring to it as ANC

from the whitepaper:

100 Million AntCoins could be generated, representing ALL of the right of using the Antshares Blockchain. ANC will be generated by every new block. With the set slowly-decreasing pace of generation, ANC will be generated from 0 to 100 Million within approximately 22 years.

ANC are used for

•Accounting Charge payment

•Extra Service Charge payment

•Bookkeeper Nominee Deposit as collateral

Ok but lots of exchanges  for and coinmarketcap use ANS: for example: https://api.coinmarketcap.com/v1/ticker/antshares/
Anybody know why the are using ANS outside of the whitepaper?

ANS and ANC are two different things, ANS is Antshares, ANC is Antcoins. Having Antshares on an address makes it possible to get Antcoins. Once a block is mined, each address that holds ANS will get ANC according to its ANS balance.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 12, 2017, 12:34:00 PM
You are supposed to receive blackbytes according to the bytes you receive depending on bitcoins on your linked BTC address and/or bytes on your linked Byteball address.
In that case I should have received blackbytes too.

Quote
Did you have positive balances on your linked BTC address(es) and/or you Byteball linked address(es)?
Yes. That's why I did receive Bytes, but no Blackbytes.

Quote
On a side note, there has been cases where Tony had to re-send blackbytes to some addresses that didn't receive them during the distribution, before you contact him, let's make sure that everything was set up as it should have.
In this case, I think something went wrong.

Okay, so if I understand correctly the bytes you got are according to BTC and/or bytes you have on linked addresses (you should normally find them here http://transition.byteball.org by the way). In that case, you should send a private message to Tony, explaining the situation, and he will re-send the blackbytes to you.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 12, 2017, 12:21:58 PM
My view on the subject (@ kaicrypzen Is this view correct?)

The Bytes Balance  is “visible” for tony (address <-> Byte-Balance). It’s similar to the Bitcoin-network – low privacy and easy to trace.
Tony distribute (Byte to Byte ratio 1:0.1) “simple” to every Byte address with a balance in the BB-network.
So, you can buy bytes and get new bytes with each distribution round - without any further action.
It is not mandatory to have a linked pair (BB Address <-> BTC address) to receive Bytes.

Yes.

Blackbytes are invisible for the BB-network (private currency).
See OP:.. Payments in private assets (like Blackbytes) are not published to the public database.  Instead, only the hash of the transaction is stored to the database, ..” … and with Tor they become untraceable. It is therefore not technically possible to distribute them like bytes.
To receive blackbytes, you must have at least one connected address pair  (BB address <-> BTC address). It does not matter if the BTC address has no balance.

Yes. By linking a Byteball address, one exposes their device address which is needed to send the blackbytes.

This address (BB address <-> BTC address) is your linked BB address (bot tells you), where you have to consolidate your bytes. You can link different BTC-addresses to different BB addresses:
Pair 1 (BB address 1 <-> BTC address 1) you will receive Blackbytes for the Balance at BB address 1
Pair 2 (BB address 2 <-> BTC address 2) you will receive Blackbytes for the Balance at BB address 2
Pair 3 (BB address 3 <-> BTC address 3) you will receive Blackbytes for the Balance at BB address 3
….

Yes.

Or you can link different BTC-addresses to one BB addresse:
Pair 1  (BB address  0 <-> BTC address 1 ) you will receive Blackbytes for the Balance at BB address 0
Pair 2  (BB address  0 <-> BTC address 2 ) you will receive Blackbytes for the Balance at BB address 0
Pair 3  (BB address  0 <-> BTC address 3 ) you will receive Blackbytes for the Balance at BB address 0

BB address XXXX (no linked BTC address) you will receive Byte but no Blackbytes

Yes.

Note: If you consolidate your bytes to a linked BB-address, make sure you are not running any transactions after that.
In this case the Bytes will jump to another (maybe) not linked address...( similar  BTC-wallet see: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Change ).

And yes Smiley.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 12, 2017, 10:07:24 AM
If we received bytes this time around do we need to sign up for the next distribution or will it automatically send them from now on, (as long as the address we linked still has funds in it.)

For the time being, linked addresses stay linked forever, so no further linking is required for subsequent rounds (if you want to use the same addresses), just make sure your funds are on linked addresses before the next snapshots.
