501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallets support 32 word seed phrases on: January 29, 2024, 11:36:02 PM
Why not try to import that 32-word seed phrase into Electrum just enable bip39 and extended words to make this seed phrase valid and let's see if you can find the wallet with funds.

Or maybe the seed phrase that you have from your uncle is SLIP39 seed with missing one word?
Better check the device where your uncle generated this seed phrase you can may be able to find some idea under his browser history.
502  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Whatsminer M32 Firmware Update Error File is missing oder damaged on: January 29, 2024, 11:24:53 PM
Can you still able to access the miner's IP? I mean the dashboard if you can still able to access it?

If not, try to do this hold the "reset" button for 5 seconds to reset the unit to factory default let it reboot for 30 seconds, and then use the "IP found" button to find the IP.

Repeat the upgrade procedure once the error code turns to normal.

You can also try this lower version https://www.whatsminer.com/file/Whatsminer-M3x&M5X-all-20220512.17.bin
503  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 repair help on: January 29, 2024, 11:02:23 PM
Thanks for the above info, I've ordered the bitmain test fixture to get started but still plenty to learn.

Could I check if anyone can spot anything obvious here?

I thought that you already checked these Hashboards on the test fixture? it seems this logs is directly from the unit not from the test fixture.

What I could see is the 0 ASIC with error codes.

But I noticed something weird under the fan it shows abnormal value. The faulty fan can sometimes give you 0 ASIC to all hashboard so what I would like you to try is if you have an extra s9 unit try to swap it with a known working one.
504  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: AvalonMiner 1166 with one hashboard disconnected on: January 29, 2024, 10:51:37 PM
Please post the logs here so that we can check them for you, what is going on behind your unit or if you want to learn how to read and troubleshoot it on your own you can download the guide from this link below under manual then troubleshoot

Also, check the pool where you mine, and maybe the issue is related to the pool server if you have unstable internet or high ping the miner will stop.
505  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: EncyptoNotes app on: January 27, 2024, 11:46:58 PM
I heard this from one of my friends last month talking about encryption and decryption capabilities apps.
I think this is similar to Openkeychain, you can find it on the Google Play Store.

It's K-9 mail, once installed, you can integrate it with OpenKeychain.

It only supports Android OS only it does not support the iPhone IOS version yet and found their open-source code here.

It is a thunderbird from Mozilla and their Android version is K9-mail there are lots of bad reviews about this k9-mail on Playstore but according to them, it's the UI they want the old version compared to the new one.
506  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 repair help on: January 27, 2024, 11:16:09 PM
I don't know what is in the guide you are following but I guess it is the 5 test points where you can check the signals which chips giving abnormal voltage.

If that's the only repair guide you can see on "Antminer repair" they didn't include the other guides related to other components.

ZeusBTC guide is gives you more insight including other components so I suggest to check this link below

507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Want To Invest Money From My Inheritance In Bitcoin, But? on: January 27, 2024, 10:48:50 PM
I think the reason why they don't want to have or make own a Bitcoin is because they have zero knowledge of how to protect the wallet that is why they decided to put their money into you because they know you have knowledge of how to protect them.
It is just likely the same happened to me with my friend since he doesn't know much about Bitcoin and the risk of the internet he wants to buy Bitcoin and wants to send it to me and hold it for him because I know how to protect his Bitcoin.

Meaning your two brother trust you about their investment in Bitcoin.
What I would like to suggest make an offline wallet with two different and seed backups using the Electrum wallet make sure that you write them on the piece of paper put their Bitcoin in each of these wallets and then try to give the piece of paper to your two brothers and tell them that this is their wallet backup.
If they don't want then keep them in a safe place where no one knows where you hide them. Also don't forget to take one of the BTC addresses (Public key) from each wallet where you deposited BTC and then don't forget to erase the wallet from the offline device where you created these two wallets or format the hard drive for safety purposes.
If you didn't do that if someone uses that device that knows about Bitcoin they can take advantage to extract the seed phrase or make a copy of the wallet into a USB flash drive without your consent. So make sure to format the hard drive and later recover it using the seed phrase once your two brothers decide to sell it.
508  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: S17+ Hashboard Swapping on: January 27, 2024, 10:13:32 PM
Update:
It seems that the BraiinsOS+ kernal log is different from stock bitmain? I dont see anything about hashboard voltages in there.

Braiins and stock firmware give you different logs if you are still using BraiinsOS you need to provide both kernel logs and system logs and post them here.
You can find most of the errors related to the power and Hashboard under the system logs.

Why not share both kernel and system logs here so that we can troubleshoot?

The braiins should ignore the different power voltages come from the hashboard I don't know about the mix-match but it ignores the power from the hashboard EEPROM.
Like I said in my previous post run them one by one while you are using Braiins OS don't mix them with other hashboard yet and test them to see if these hashboards work. Once you know these hashboards are all working start to run them all in Braiins then monitor both system and kernel logs.
509  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: EncyptoNotes app on: January 26, 2024, 06:44:03 PM

What you think? Is there anything like that exists?

I only know one app exists on Android that can encrypt and decrypt notes and data they called it Openkeychain: Easy PGP

I can't find other tools on Android that can do this it seems only Openkeychain app is the only app available I don't know for IOS it seems it does not yet exist.
510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it's wrong to save vital information on your phone. on: January 26, 2024, 06:24:01 PM
I remember someone who saved their seed phrase into the Evernote app after a few years of holding Bitcoins it suddenly transferred to an unknown address.
He didn't know what exactly happened he tried to blame the wallet developers and accuse them that these developers are thieves but after giving us much more information about where he saved all seed backups he said he pasted all backups in the Evernote app on his Android phone that he didn't know this app keeps syncing to the Evernote server which is not safe and I heard that this app is compromised.

So any device that is connected to the internet even if it is encrypted or saved to an encrypted app there is still a possibility it will be compromised.
That is why offline is the best option it could be to write them onto a piece of paper or old devices with no internet connection.

however, even if you write it on a piece of paper it can be still damaged over time in the long run and it's not water resistant.
Maybe having a metal plate and saving your seed phrase there is the best option in the long term.

There is an application on GooglePlay that allows you to track your phone's whereabouts in case it was stolen or lost and you have the option to destroy all the data in that phone so the holder will not use all the information of your stolen phone, this is just in case you put some of the valuable information like your private keys, the phone is never a good place to store your password private keys or whatever, unless your phone is in your vault and you only use to retrieve important information.

I think you talking about "find my phone app" It has a feature to wipe all data on the phone remotely if you have a PC and have access to email you can able to do that but it only works if the device is online.
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Another Bitcoin Core post. on: January 26, 2024, 05:09:33 PM
Now it's just "Opening Wallet fakewallet.." (5 minutes and counting)

Does the "fake wallet" open instantly for you? (of course you may not want to risk this incase it's an infected file idk).

I don't have your fake wallet file I just created mine and it's clean and it does not have much data yet that is why it loads instantly unlike yours.

If your wallet.dat file already has some data like lots of transactions, public keys, public keys, etc... then it would load too long.

About this "I just have a feeling what something with my Bitcoin Setup is incorrect." why did you say your Bitcoin setup is incorrect?
If you downloaded it from bitcoincore.org and verified it, it should be safe except for the fake wallet file you have we do not know if the trusted users you said sent you a clean wallet file.

513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Another Bitcoin Core post. on: January 26, 2024, 04:34:06 PM
There is no problem with what you did to restore the fake wallet old version of Bitcoin Core does not have a restore button under the file menu but if you are using the latest version of Bitcoin Core it does have a restore button. Importing the wallet.dat file in the old version of Bitcoin core is through pasting the wallet file on a data storage location on the latest version you will need to use the restore option to import the wallet or the open wallet option would only work if you already have existed wallet.dat file with a separate folder under Bitcoin data folder if you don't have existed wallet folder under Bitcoin data folder you can't find any option on "open wallet" check the image below.

So you will need the restore option when importing a wallet.dat file or you can manually make a folder under "D:\BitcoinDownload\" and put the wallet.dat file under that folder (Make sure you rename it to wallet.dat).
Sample result below

Here's my data folder

Inside the fakewallet folder

514  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Looking for good fee estimation APIs on: January 26, 2024, 11:37:01 AM
Why do you need many APIs? Is this mempool.space fee estimation does not provide you with enough information about the fee?
Mempool.space is the only source that we always use when checking recommended fees other sources would not give you a good fee estimation compared to mempool.space

It works just fine for me I use this https://mempool.space/docs/api/rest#get-recommended-fees

Just adding this if you still looking for more fee recommendation API here https://api.blockchain.info/mempool/fees
515  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NOT BUYING ANY COIN, BUT STILL TRADING on: January 25, 2024, 07:04:01 PM
Its trading with real money, but instead of buying and selling the cryptos, you will only BET that like in the next 5 minutes the price is gonna go up or go down, and if it happens, you win some amount. I cant find any market like this. I used to use FUTURES at binance many years ago. But now i cant find any market like this because im away from this market for too long.

What do you mean you can't find any market like Binance's future? Other exchanges also have future trades check this link below.

Or It seems it's a binary option where you can only choose higher or lower I only know one exchange that does this but I'm not sure how safe it is I usually see this on YouTube ads the name of the site is iqoption.com.

516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NOT BUYING ANY COIN, BUT STILL TRADING on: January 25, 2024, 06:32:34 PM
Would you mind adding more info on what exactly exchange you looking for?

Are you talking about an exchange without depositing any funds or you talking about an exchange with demo accounts?

If ever you are looking for demo trading accounts check this link below.

If that's not what you mean then I think you talking about future trading? Have you checked Binance?
517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BINANCE AS HOLDER on: January 25, 2024, 05:54:35 PM
Thank you for your contribution.
Yes, the profile thing is just an example, lets say that i would buy coins somewhere out of the exchanges or gonna withdraw at some casino, is it a problem to use the binance adress?

It’s not always advisable for you to receive any form of payment directly to an exchange address it’s at a high risk level, you should always consider the security and privacy before doing that, Binance is a centralized exchange and they are against so many things you never can tell if the address which will be used to pay you from where ever you want to withdraw from is safe enough or if binance won’t mark it as bad address.

There's no problem sending crypto from Casino to Binance they don't have a regulation about that, unlike Coinbase. Withdrawing my funds from casino to Binance it works just fine.

However, I agree that it is risky since Binance deposit addresses are always changing every few months and we don't know maybe they also implement a regulation in the future to accept funds from Casino or block all funds that came from Casino just like what happened to Coinbase. He should have another wallet(Have full control) to receive these funds before he sends them to the Binance wallet to avoid this issue.
518  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: CPFP: what infos are needed from the payer on: January 25, 2024, 05:37:37 PM
To make it clear if the payer sends you BTC to your wallet you should be able to see the transaction under transaction history as unconfirmed it looks like this below

RBF or non-RBF should be able to do CPFP.

@OP you don't need any info to ask from the payer but to make sure that is the transaction he made you need to ask him the TXID and then follow the guide from the image above.
519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin core, (wallet.dat) on: January 24, 2024, 08:32:20 PM
You don't need to reimport the wallet.dat on the GUI since you already placed the wallet.dat file on the wallet directory which is "C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin"

Look you already opened the Bitcoin core GUI it should show some error if the wallet.dat on the wallet directory is corrupted but it's not and you are still able to go to File > Restore Wallet.

That is why this error comes up because you are attempting to reimport the wallet.dat that is already in the wallet directory.
