Preachers tell people to do many different things. Some preachers preach good things. Some preachers preach bad things. Most preachers preach a mixture.

Isn't it about time that you stop listening to the bad things preachers preach? When they tell us to read the Bible, shouldn't we do it? If we do, it is then that we will get pure Bible religion.

Smiley
Better still, let's just ignore all the preachers. That way there's no danger of inadvertently listening to a bad one, and anything the good ones tell you is worthless anyway.  It's a win-win. Cheesy

Are you preaching again, Fluffer?    Cheesy

No. Educating.

1. Christians are a group.
2. A core doctrine of Christians is to hate sin.
Therefore ..........  Christians are a hate group, as they are all suppose to hate sin.

The reasons they hate sin, or whether it's a good or bad thing is 100% irrelevant to the above logic. OP's statement still stands true.

Is simple straight forward logic so difficult to understand? Why do Christians keep lying that they aren't a hate group?

Logic confirms it. Why is this thread still going? There's no more to discuss.

If that was true, the whole world would be a hate group. Everyone hates something.
I think the word your looking for is human race, not human group. You only have to open up a newspaper to clearly see humans are a very violent hate filled species. But also capable of kind, love and compassion as well of course, or we would never of survived this long.

But I thought we were discussing hate groups...

"A hate group is an organized group or movement that advocates and practices hatred, hostility, or violence towards members of a race, ethnicity, nation, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other designated sector of society."
Well it's probably just sematics. A group of people that hate something in common, is a hate group. What is actually hated is irrelevant.

And hating sin, is not hating a member of any race, ethnicity, nation, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other designated sector of society.
Still hate.

in the end i drifted towards the conclusion that i couldnt keep believing in something i couldnt see any resemblance of or any sign of influence / action from; ie maturing mentally drove me out of the mindset of clinging to an ideal and having a relationship with an idea.

Let's hope BADecker can mature mentally as well. As I suspected all along, he's in love with the idea, not God.

When atheists say they don't believe in god they actually do, subconsciously  Wink

Are you one of those Jesus was born in America people..

Is that the only argument you have?  Smiley

Personally I believe in the great and all powerful pink unicorn in the earth.  When you die, if you are accepted by the great pony you get transformed into a pony and live for ever on the fields of the great pony in constant happyness.
Prove me wrong.
Don't tell me. We've got to believe in this unicorn or we will all burn in hot fiery pink hell right?

Oh dear, now look who's guilty of generalising.  You can't put all Christians in that same box you now.

I thought you lot were suppose to be a hate group. You know, hate the sin?

Now your claim to love sinning. You crazy mixed up kids.  Cheesy Cheesy

Documentary Atheists Don't Exist

This is a great Documentary by Keith Thompson (check links below). In this film it's recognized there's no point in endlessly giving "atheists" classical or evidentialist arguments since their fallen nature and faulty unbelieving presuppositions prevent them from accepting them. Plus it is dishonoring to God to let them autonomously weigh evidence for God as if He was on trial and they were the judges. Rather, we reduce the unbeliever's worldview to absurdity noting it can't account for valid human experience (and that Christianity does), and show the God they know deep down is needed to rescue them from such absurdity.

Err, what's this got to do with this topic? I think you may of inadvertently posted in the wrong thread.

He's in a hate group against Christians. Many people are.
People are simply trying to "save" you from this man-made cult you've been sucked into. It's not hate if they are trying to save you. Your words remember.

511  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Christians are a hate group. on: November 27, 2015, 09:58:16 PM
He's not Christian if he's threatening anyone.

Sweeping under the carpet the fact that Christians endlessly threaten people with the old "believe in my cult or burn in hell" tiresome sketch.

If you believe that's a threat that means that you do believe hell exists.

Let's suppose a stranger phoned you up tonight and said "I know who you are. I know where you live. So-and-so is coming round tonight to put a bullet in your back." and then hung up.
Now you could go either of two ways. You could believe the threat and start panicking, or you could just not believe it, shrug your shoulders and carry on as normal.
Now the point is that it's irrelevant if the threat was a sucess or not. It's still someone else threatening or at least attempting to threaten you.

Of course I understand there are different levels of threats. My example above is a very serious one. In contrast the Christian extremist one is rather a silly childish one, most normal muture adults would roll their eyes to it. But the point is it's still someone attempting to threaten you however much they sugarcoat it with "saving" you.

On a further note the Christian extremist threat is a logical fallacy anyway as it's an "appeal to consequences", so should be ignored as it's a flawed statement.

People who hate, are NOT Christian
If you never experienced dark, how would you know what light is?
If you never felt cold, how would you know what warmth was?
If you never felt sad, how would you know what it's like to be happy?
If you never tasted anything sour, how would you know what sweetness tasted like?
If you never experience hate, how would you know what love is?
512  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Christians are a hate group. on: November 27, 2015, 10:20:59 AM
well that is in USA not every christian is like that, i admit there are some cristian believe if dont believe in jesus christ you will go to hell,
those are hard core religious people. those people are close minded.
This is completely true of course, and I agree, all it takes is a small group of these bad weak Christian extremists to spoil it for the good ones.
All we can do is use the tools God gave us, common sense, logic and sound reasoning to attempt to deradicalise them, as they are defenseless against these three things.
Other than that there's not much hope for them.

It's kinda fun, isn't it?... picking on each other.

1aguar isn't picking on you, he's simply trying to educate you.
It's very clear beyond all reasonably doubt that you need it. Painfully obvious in fact.

The trick is finding the correct religion, or at least the correct way.

All these religious cults believe that their one is "the correct one". They all know they are the correct one because they all feel it with 100% certainty in their heart.

Unfortunately anyone with an ounce of common sense can quite clearly see that they cannot all be correct. Yet everyone "knows" deep deep down in their heart they have the "correct one".

Conclusion:
Knowing it in your heart you've picked the right one is clearly a totally useless indicator and has no value whatsoever.

517  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: November 19, 2015, 08:05:24 PM
Do you know that 90% people who go in to the church, they never heard about the Bible?
I find this hard to believe.
I think what you mean is 90% of those in church ignore what's in the bible and just do their own thing.
That's much more believable.

This is a serious discussion about God. Please keep your bedtime fairytale stories designed for infants off this thread. Nobody over the age of 6 believes this fantasy myth anymore. Thanks.  Tongue

What authority?
520  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: November 11, 2015, 09:10:24 AM
If just one person can believe in a religion and not want to kill anyone, then blaming religion for murders is wrong and you need to start blaming the people not their religion for the killings.
Double-edged sword here.

If just one person does not believe in a religion and does a good deed, then it's the person that must get credit for the good deed, not the irreligion. Effectively making religion obsolete; well the good deed parts anyway.
