one thing i also dont get is why ROCKMINER did not mentioned Xbtec in their latest update: So far as we know, there are only 3 miner producers who used AM Gen.3 chips and developed own hardware and software solutions then put into massive production: BTCGarden, Hashratio(ZhaoDong team) and our ROCKMINER. Among these three, only us is completely new entrant. BTCGarden has been set up from the first half of last year, they even successfully taped out a type of 130nm chip and completed massive production. Hashratio had been in secret development and successfully taped out a 55nm chip. Although the chips hasn't been massive produced into miners by multiple reasons, they still accumulated precious experience. Plus technical giant Kevin Pan worked for them before, it was not surprising that Hashratio was the first one who had solution and done massive production.
![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) There were NDAs surrounding XBTec, Friedcat has confirmed their legitimacy. My unit will be arriving tomorrow (along with others), I'll do my best to turn it around ASAP.

Dogie's Miner Setup Guides:Nicely formatted version available at dogiecoin.com!![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FptViCVd.png&t=663&c=0f4x5AQMqIb8hQ) Contents: 0a) What to Expect0b) What You Need1) Powering2) Cooling3) Case4) Configuration5) Troubleshooting6) Where to buy 0a) What to Expect (top)HashRatio's Tsunami is the first implementation of ASICMiner's open source x24 reference design. It features 4 hashing boards each with 24 BE200 generation 3 chips, arranged around a central aluminium core. Lightweight stands at each end allow the units to be stacked and 8 miners can be daisy chained onto one controller. The entire design is extremely efficient and will be the new staple in mining. Chips | 96x ASICMiner Gen3 | Hashrate | ~830GH, 920GH (OC) | Rated Voltage | 12V | Rated Current | 75A | Power.Consumption | ~900W, 1025W (OC) | ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ffarm4.staticflickr.com%2F3890%2F14815470391_660c7a1ef0.jpg&t=663&c=LUXyYWCahOrhCg) 0b) What You Need (top)You will need a few accessories and a power supply to get started. Click your flag to find everything you need to get started at Amazon! ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F8Y0bFol.png&t=663&c=jaNs1A80s3WX5A) 1) Powering (top)Tsunamis do not come with a power supply, and you will need a typical computer PSU with 8xPCI-E 6 pin power connectors. Strictly only 4 PCI-E connectors are required at stock speeds, however it will reduce cable temperatures by utilising all 8. We also need to tell the PSU to always be on, as there isn't a motherboard to do this. Cut a paper clip into a U and insert it into the green wire and either black wire to the side of the green wire. Tape it up for safety. The power supply will now be controlled by its switch on the rear socket. The controller board requires a 12V 2.5mm barrel connector, 1A minimum. 2) Cooling (top)A single 120mm Nidec Beta V TA450DC fan is used to cool the central aluminium core. Noise levels are very reasonable considering the 800W or so of heat being removed with a single fan. A push arrangement is used as the Tsunami is designed for server farm use where the cold aisle provides access to the cables for the user. It is noteworthy that the end furthest away from the fan may become very hot to the touch extremely hot to the touch (including the handles) during operation, so please be careful during handling and maintenance. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ffarm4.staticflickr.com%2F3896%2F14838355003_f74a104062.jpg&t=663&c=xRQ8eE7bemWarg) 3) Case (top)The central aluminium heatsink provides the core of the frame and structure of the miner, and is supplemented by radial feet at either end. Both are constructed of low weight aluminium, giving an overall miner weight of just 6KG for a near 1TH unit. Tsunamis are stackable both side to side and top to bottom. The addition of a rubber strip between miners would be beneficial to reduce vibration. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ffarm4.staticflickr.com%2F3873%2F14632254907_fd8a21a877.jpg&t=663&c=l_JURydmz-2ovQ) 4) Configuration (top)An external 32bit PIC board is used as the controller, and can handle 8 daisy chained Tsunamis. Wiring: - Plug in an ethernet cable from the controller board to you router.
- Plug in the three wired long cable from the miner to the white socket on the controller board closest to the ethernet port.
- If you have more than one Tsunami on the same controller, see the troubleshooting section at the bottom.
- Plug in all eight PCI-E connectors into the Tsunami.
- Plug in the 12V barrel connector into the controller board.
Configuration: - Power on the power supply using its switch at the back.
- Make sure or your router's subnet is 0, ie 192.168.0.x. If not then change it to 0, this is just temporary. ***If this is not possible, see below***
- Using a browser, navigate to 192.168.0.254:8000 - this goes to the Tsunami's configuration page.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Change IP to something memorable, and on your preferred subnet.
- Change gateway to the IP of your router.
- Change primary DNS to the IP of your router.
- Change secondary DNS to "8.8.8.8".
- Enter Pool URL in the format as below. **There may be some issues with some pools at the moment, ghash definitely works**.
- Enter the port of your pool.
- Enter your miner username and password.
- Set ASIC clock at 270 for stock speeds and 300 for overclocked speeds.
- Click update and restart.
- Navigate back to the IP of the miner you set to check mining started.
- You can then change your router subnet back to whatever you are used to using.
Alternative Subnet Change: - Unplug your computer from all internet sources.
- Plug in an ethernet cable from the controller to your computer.
- Navigate to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Centre -> Change Adapter Settings.
- Right click on your ethernet adapter -> Properties.
- Click on "Internet Protocol Version 4" and click properties.
- Select "Use the following IP address" and enter the following:
- IP Address: 192.168.0.1, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway: 192.168.0.254.
- Plug in an ethernet cable from the controller to you router.
- Restart the configuration instructions as above.

I apologize if it is inappropriate to ask questions in the auction thread, but I'm wondering if I can put down a deposit or sign a message from an address with a substantial amount of BTC in order for my bids to be accepted, in spite of my low activity on this forum?
That would be prudent. You can PM me a signed message and address, best not to put it out there and be a target.

If that was a short and not an overheat, wouldn't a very short piece of track be totally be destroyed, rather than the longer section we see here?

You've already said this. And I've already said I don't even know if its faulty, I've just not had time to test it.

Clocks are limited to produce a hash rate of 1TH in order to reduce power consumption and noise levels. The Desk is standalone and does not require an external controller due to the inclusion of a RaspberryPi. Chips | 40x Bitmine CoinCraft A1 | Hashrate | ~1000GH | Rated Voltage | 12V | Rated Current | 84A | Power.Consumption | 1000W | ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ffarm4.staticflickr.com%2F3840%2F14713715352_718f79a24e.jpg&t=663&c=kCly28b5Gjitnw) 0b) What You Need (top)You will need a few accessories to get started. A paper clip is used to jump start the PSU, meaning the Desk is controlled with the power supply's switch at the batch. It is worth noting that the unit should be left off for at least 20 seconds when restarting in order to let the RaspberryPi to fully discharge, else the unit will not properly restart. 2) Cooling (top)Desks are shipped with a notice stating that they shouldn't be operated in ambient temperatures above ~26C. I have tested my unit in ambient temperatures up to 30C, at which point the unit struggles. This is due to the purposely quiet cooling strategy designed into the unit, and will be fine for all but the hottest of farms. Two 120mm AMBeyond AV-F12025HS fans are used in a negative pressure tunnel cooling arrangement and remain pleasantly quiet. Auto temperature targeting and thermal cut-off thresholds keep the unit safe. Each of the modules features a full cover aluminium heatsink on the read, while the chips are covered by smaller aluminium blocks to help dissipate heat. 3) Case (top)The Desk is enclosed in a very sturdy steel case that is very robust (and heavy). Modules screw directly into the frame of the case and are shipped with additional support to prevent damage. A 16x2 character LCD display shows the unit's current hash rate, temperature and IP. The shipped weight of a Coincraft Desk is 20kg and dimensions of the shipping box are 560 x 530 x 280mm. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ffarm4.staticflickr.com%2F3896%2F14733815083_8fe29db00d.jpg&t=663&c=zfZ9Hk3hfmKG_w) 4) Configuration (top)A Raspberry Pi is included inside which acts as the controller. Wiring: - Open the side of the case and remove the additional shipping packaging.
- Plug in a mains power cable to the Desk.
- Plug in an ethernet cable from the Desk to you router.
Configuration: - Power on the power supply using its switch at the back.
- Wait approximately 30 seconds for the Desk to boot, and then see what IP it has been assigned on the LCD at the front.
- Using a browser, navigate to the IP shown - this goes to the Desk's configuration page.
- Login using "admin" as both the username and password.
- Navigate to Settings -> Network.
- Make sure DHCP is set to on. Set DNS 1 to the IP of your router, and DNS 2 to "8.8.8.8". Click "Save and Reboot".
- Using a browser, navigate back to the IP of the miner.
- Navigate to the page Settings -> Mining. Enter your pool information in the below format. Click "Save and Restart CgMiner".
- Navigate to the page "Dashboard" to check mining has started. This page usually takes 5 seconds or so to load.

How can you justify charging people from the UK 0.38 btc TAX? You have the unit in hand, In the UK you state.. So you've already paid the Tax.. Or am I missing something?
I am VAT registered, its a legal requirement? That's the justification....

how about spondoolies now? not mentioning the unprofessional behaviour they had towards AM, just the underperforming SP30s they presold and the classic "one-month delay".. + the overpriced preorders for "september" (ie. at least october) batches...
Everyones been offered cash refunds have they not, same as S3s? I don't see any difference. Preorders are already costing them 19 points. Price is irrelevant, if its overpriced then don't buy it, unless someone is specifically targeting uninformed buyers with advertising to take advantage. Fair enough i wasnt aware of such refunds although i suspect it not to be very effective. Anyway, would it then be interesting to add $/gh ranges for each manufacturers regarding the overpricing issue? S-Tech will be monitored over the next couple of weeks to see what happens. Price is irrelevant to this because its a choice the consumer makes. What is relevant is that products are delivered on time as per agreed.

Hello all, My S2 needs needs a new owner as I'm running out of power. One of the cards is potentially not working and was removed, although I've not had time to test it. If it is faulty, I'm sure you can RMA it. Case screws are missing, but I think I can find them before shipping. Pictures of the unit can be seen here. Shipping is from the UK. Total price is base price + shipping + tax (if applicable). See below.Base Price: BTC 1.6UK : = 0.32 tax, free shipping = 1.92 EU non business : = 0.35 tax, 0.15 shipping = 2.10 EU VAT reg business: = 0.0 tax, 0.15 shipping = 1.75 US : = 0.0 tax, 0.15 shipping = 1.75

are you using A1 Chip?
Not at 500GH/chip. My unit will land on Monday, along with 3 other units so I'll do my best to turn this around ASAP.

got one of theses platimax 1500watt supply they have a 12 pin connector at the psu side splitting to 2 x8pin pcie, the wire gauge is quite thick, 1 cable could cover 1 s3?
If its 16AWG then sure, those things are beastly.
|
|
|
well dont want to burn it obviously, and ideally 150watt per pcie?
75W is the official spec for 6 pin, 150W for 8 pin.
|
|
|
how far can you over clock with just 2 pci e leads?
As far as you want to burn your PSU up. At stock you're at about 180W per PCI-E, the maximum implementation I've seen in the wild is 240W and that's so far over the specifications for 18AWG its insane.
