521  Economy / Economics / Re: A blockchain use for R3 on: January 27, 2016, 05:13:05 PM
Let's not forget here the ultimate goal for Bitcoin is to deprecate fiat money and be used all over the world as the default currency. 1 world currency is what we need, but I doubt governments will deal with that idea, they always want to control money, so I would be ok with that as long as it's used as a sidechain in the bitcoin blockchain.

True, a premined coin which is shit to begin with offers little/no benefits besides .... just a blockchain.

Governments aren't going to get behind the "One world currency" idea, I think that is something we can all agree on.

I always have many accounts in stock so I decided to give him account to earn from signature campaign for few weeks untill he get his account back or earn some money to buy another account.
Just trying to help a guy in need.

That was very magnanimous of you, hopefully the situation gets sorted eventually. It is difficult when you do a lot of bitcointlk business and participate in campaigns only to have your account lost.
523  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Advertising networks - a real challenge ... on: January 27, 2016, 04:49:39 PM

Hello

As a webmaster (faucets, bitcoin related websites, etc) it is a real pain these days to integrate the ads.
My personal experience:

- CoinAd - not working - removed
- Bitmedia - the ads does not show in IE
- MellowAds - down
- Adbit - low revenue

Adsense is the only one who is working and loading every time.

So what to use ... to have a decent loading for a website?

Adsense is about the only one I know of. A long time ago I used CoinAd and received regular payments, but started getting a lot of uncounted or false impressions so I let that one go as well.

I want to add this to my watch list, so posted. I have yet to buy any collectible coins this year and this is a pretty unique one. bigtimespaghetti is the only person I have bought from here, but since Blazdout is your escrow I feel it is a trustworthy operation. Smiley

Features are only ever a small part of the overall picture that is the value of a cryptocurrency. Interesting how we're now suddenly right in the middle of a new alt-hypecycle and many coins, some expected and others seemingly at random, pump at the same time. UNO is not moving an inch, but so are several other even higher profile alts. Wonder what that means...

Stability I hope. Wild price swings are what deter a lot of ordinary users from investing. There isn't a terrible amount of that happening with UNO and a handful of other coins.

Bring back BitVegas and I'll think about it  Grin https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/BitVegas

That was a very fun casino in the time it was up, least I enjoyed it anyway.

Ah what a mishap!!!. That casino lost 7 bitcoins damn .Thats big amount .

I think casino sites should tighten up security so that they doesn't gives up any chance to scammer to exploit the glitch if found.

There is always someone who has to rain on the parade. But for a while that was THE only gambling site I played on. Bacon races were just too fun.  Grin

529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FLYCOIN FORUM, Here Ya can post your real feelings and concerns on: January 27, 2016, 03:23:11 PM
I have noticed a trend in "rarer" cryptocurrency over the past year. As the herd is thinned out each new coin has something to prove. How rare can you be? Roll Eyes

I believe that rare coin design will all have 3 major issues to try and solve in the future,

1.   Due to the low # of staking coins , network security /difficulty will be weaker , as less coins are securing the network.

2.   Nothing to stake problem, where a big wallet goes offline,  and there are no new blocks for hours. Irregular block times causing payment disruptions.

3.   Price & Demand : Once your initial support base buys their coins, since you are so rare your price will be higher so what service will you offer that makes new people continue to buy the coin.

Looking forward to see what the different solutions to these problems are?

 Cool

All problems inherent with most staked coins. I don't feel PoS in it's current form can sustain a crypto economy but there will be exciting innovations in the future I am sure. Cryptocurrency is still in it's earlier stages with many discoveries yet to be made.

Please update here if you get the letyouearn account back, so I can change the rating. I haven't come across any more info on the person behind the phishing attack ( or whatever you want to call it).

Doge can act as a liquidity instrument for the other alts.  Fine tuning price discovery.  And it can act to do the micro transactions and basically end the BTC block size debate.

Interesting thought, that. Dogecoin does have a "can-do" community if nothing else.

533  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage on GitHub: ~2% monthly return, market-neutral long/short on: January 26, 2016, 07:37:06 PM
Hi guys,

did anybody test it with OSX 10.10? I am getting segfaults with the current git master when i disable demoMode.

Thanks for your work!

I haven't tested it on OSX but did manage a BSD build, which is similar. I'll see if I can find a friend using osx to test, never used it xD.

will i really get my account back or i have to start again with this same account ? i am too much worried about it. i have sent pm's and emails to admin. No response from him yet.

Sorry you lost your account :-/   Perhaps an admin will be able to investigate it soon and get your account back to you.

Things like this make me very glad I don't have anymore Windows computers, as they are often targets of this sort of thing.

@FK where are the links to the proto wallet? I found that I had a few on cryptopia and wanted to offload them from the exchange...
I uploaded the Prototanium Windows wallet to Mega,
https://mega.nz/#!vJtSiRxR!n5QqzLU8TOvS6ptCi0mEcEF6bp9jjeJrnbjAGFK-DvM

Was there a compiled Linux wallet? If so, I don't have it.
You can also start your UNO wallet like this:  unobtanium-qt.exe -testnet
Testnet addresses will work to receive your PR.

Quoting this and verifying that scan results and shasums still match: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/9ac16f4f58aea0828300b51c3d54a8741f9d3cf5a65a65fcbea168e4b4735b1d/analysis/

I will be preserving this snapshot with chain of custody in my vault.

as XDEII is really failing and vegas tries to bury my serious notes about the project I am double posting here this too:

Its about the XDEII swap, which looks like a total fail or scam: Once again: STAY AWAY FROM XDEII.

According to XDEII Wallet sourcecode, the Platinum wallets are:
1) xPXuZNkLM3Q4QfE8nE9f2qy1NC84HvhbpC   (vegasguy address #001)
2) xQvNsgihpvPwYwi8Gqij4X4sR9j5QwC3Y8   (team wallet address #002)
3) xLCXwwH81EiYc1o2Hwm7pRgvpHfvzx6Duj   (team wallet address #003)
4) x9J86i6hPhscv1HWU3UNf1S6o5at48aBfC   (team wallet address #004)
5) xGVXBBxSjrubr7QSBwuXKbmyG89yGdFjut   (team wallet address #005)
6) xMErPU5nDWhdAtGwBZsaC5xP4XzsJpsCNJ   (community wallet address #006)
7) xNApUfouAU4CKqM721umxSNJ2vxVHNLN9X   (unused, probably for sale #007)

No let's have a look at the pic of the swap from vegas guy: (click to see original image)

There were 7 transactions mentioned by vegasguy:

Transaction #1:
Old XDE ADDRESS: XZuV3JeVbR4ZCVXYZYr8DmRLpQRSDDqw83
NEW XDEII ADDRESS: xQvNsgihpvPwYwi8Gqij4X4sR9j5QwC3Y8
swapped 4.765 XDE to 33.3 XDEII. As you can see, the swapped XDEII-Amount went to team-wallet-adress #002
--> THIS IS A PLATINUM address with 300% stake.

Transaction #5:
OLD: XS1pNiXXYnLCr4Mt7iyp4PnJzF7EEpCeY4
NEW: xPXuZNkLM3Q4QfE8nE9f2qy1NC84HvhbpC
obviously the address of vegasguy, as he mentioned it multiple times in the last few weeks.
swapped 125 XDEII plus 53 XDEII as teammember. THIS IS A PLATINUM address with 300% stake.

T#2 went from XKU5xT3u43e78x6oTVqy8KecmZVKUJwtrS to XDEII xCCgTMnHDURpYuzzNYK3RZECJ2Hv1ytS4A (STANDARD WALLET): 05.49 XDEII
T#3 went from Xad9SsNcjFD83qWbeG1YsLUQymTY8rvMeX to XDEII xTK3uoKsCko5BKi9C6vG5UkFAkY2TQ5JmE (STANDARD WALLET): 29.61 XDEII
T#4 went from XNSuECRUiS86bRQcMZwcWqvfLHesUKYbpb to XDEII xApweneyFU9EVujgt6T9yTboqGiMtME7i3 (STANDARD WALLET): 50.19 XDEII
T#6 went from XPTVjEfPqo4FZ6sDAHrw7yugC4ThqphSJk to XDEII xMdCCC5CDHPmfLGjzD6vsvCU1zXN1RguLD (STANDARD WALLET): 02.75 XDEII

TOTAL "swapped coins": 35.26 XDE
Swapped coins from team members: 22.66 XDE

Now.. there is already a GOLD-wallet in use: xW8n21Fk5EdUQvganihZAWbrzESew1SkS7
It holds 10 XDEII. why is this not mentioned in the swap - where did the XDE come from to this account? (further mentioned as "UG1")
I will further assume, that those coins are holded by the community. But there is no proof for this!

There are 3 more addresses with totally unclear origins: Total amount in there: 9.4 XDEII.
No correspondig XDE-transaction found to those addresses. (further mentioned as "UN3")
(xN8u2PPCeEvS3DkQWtTMAu1PqXaYmCgWKC, xFKrAEPn7QnUJT7sMAFPWpS64SEWaexPCW, xGm7dyEnB4cNGWSYXgBFEjWicFASRV6YQN)
Because of that, it is not really possible to say if those are in possession of the team or the community.
I will further assume, that those coins are holded by the community. But there is no proof for this!

Now, let's sum it up:
Total XDEII:    1004.49
-------------------------------
VEGASGUY:       178.96
TeamMember-2:   086.59
TeamMember-3:    053.00
TeamMember-4:    053.00
TeamMember-5:    053.00
Community:      458.46
--------------------------------
TOTAL in TEAM:   883.01   (87.91%)

Why did I count the community wallet as Team-Coins? Because the team holds the private key of this address and can therefor control those coins.

Distributed among Community:
T#2: 05.49
T#3: 31.61
T#4: 60.19
T#6: 04.77
UG1: 10.00
UN3: 09.42
-------------------------------
TOTAL IN CIRCULATION: 121.48 (12.09%)

As already mentioned 1000 times before: Because every coin on the Side of the "TEAM" is staking with 300%, this gap between TEAM and COMMUNITY will get bigger.
Only 1 person of the community owns a GOLD-wallet with 250% stake-rate. Everyone else has to stake with 200%. This will get out of hand very soon.

So, yeah. All in all, looks like this was very successfull swap  Grin. Good coin distribution! But as we know from team vegas in the past:
This won't stop him from telling lies about how awesome his Coin and his work is.  Roll Eyes
(btw: He still deletes all my post from the XDEII-Thread. Pure censorship.)

---

But all-in-all: THIS IS A GOOD DAY FOR XDE. The one and only true Double Eagle coin.
1 XDE before the swap was 0.95% of the total coin amount.
As we can now consider those burned 35.28 coins as gone forever, there are now only 70.16 XDE coins remaining in circulation.
This means, 1 XDE has now a weight of 1,43% of the total amount. That is awesome and will make XDE rarer than ever.

I have noticed a trend in "rarer" cryptocurrency over the past year. As the herd is thinned out each new coin has something to prove. How rare can you be? Roll Eyes
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: January 25, 2016, 08:49:43 PM
Does uno have the same blocksize as bitcoin?

technically yes. When you consider block speed, it's 3.33x. However if it fills I'm sure we would consider raising it (it's been forked for much more controversial reasons)... But most blocks are empty and it would have to take on 3x bitcoin's transactions to become an issue.

UNO isn't vulnerable to the whole BTC brouhaha where there is an urgent need to upgrade capacity. I would like to imagine that a user would craft tx's instead of spamming trivial amounts on the network.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: January 25, 2016, 08:46:46 PM
...

I am still not 100% sure this is a node issue (I hope so). I know it might seem silly to some to throw good money after bad, but I am not at all okay with how this went down. Though I didn't own or benefit from Prototanium, I encouraged the dev and saw it as a kid brother to UNO. It as, afterall Uno testnet. I don't understand at all why the dev abandoned PR as he did. I haven't been able communicate with him about it. It was very out of character. I'm saddened by it.

...

So thanks for your help Cryptapus, and yes, your support is valuable, appreciated, and certainly worth a modest bounty. You are consistent, responsive, available, dependable, engaged, helpful creative... everything this community needs. You are a commodity as rare as UNO. Thanks for all you do.

Thanks for the kind words and the bounty. I am leaning to believe that this was completely a node issue. If you're running a node and you don't have more than 8 connections you are most likely behind a NAT or have the p2p ports firewalled. In other words you're not running an full (open) node and a healthy network needs them. Learn to do port forwarding or run it on a DMZ.

My personal opinion of the testnet is that it is worthless. The coins themselves are meant for testing and should be freely available. Anything else is is just a distraction and just another (in this case even pre-mined) altcoin... But that's the last I'll say about testnet coin value. Any extra that get sent to me or donated I will give away if you can provide an idea for what they will be used for to improve UNO. (as an aside, do some research as to why testnet is called "testnet3" in your config directory Smiley )

I will leave the testnet running for a while, but no promises on it's ultimate fate... That will be up to the testnet users (if there really are any).

Once again cryptapus has it correct. PR should be freely available for testing purposes. If you want to foster development on a coin as rare as UNO supposedly is, then those that tinker with these sort of things need a clean testnet that works.

Source is on github, I dunno who has the windows wallets available. You can always just fire up your UNO testnet binaries if you already have those Smiley

Sorry guys, but I've given up with PRO, again. The doze wallet is useless & the NIX wallet is using way too much cpu so I've stopped them.

I'm running Uno testnet. I start the Uno wallet by starting it as  "unobtanium-qt.exe -testnet"

PR works for me after I went to the console and typed:

addnode 75.19.27.27:65525 add

WMIKRUT.COM now has a PR pool up. I rented a little hash for the next 15 days to keep it moving.

I can confirm testnet is moving albeit slowly. In order not to install source for both binaries, I simply replaced the `-testnet` entries with Prototanium.  Cheesy
