Where can we see the confirmation that the snapshot has been taken? Thank you!

typically here.

Tony hasn't posted yet.

When does the drop show up in your wallet?

When you see it in your wallet, you've received your free money.

When I am correct, the snapshot was at 6 pm UTC, right? So, around 30 minutes ago.
How long does it usually take until the actual distribution is conducted?

Full moon was at 18:10
Next block was  #479537 which was at 18:11:03   (This should be the snapshot).

Waiting on confirmation.
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 07, 2017, 06:26:11 PM
The snapshot is already finished? Is that why there's dumping again?

Snapshot should have been taken, but no confirmation yet.

Since people believe it has been taken, we now have the massive tank happening.

How come my quarter landed on Heads ?  Shouldn't our quarters throw be aligned, like the planets?

You're right.  It's a lot more technical than I thought.
Someone should be flipping silver dollars too.  Ya know, just in case.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 07, 2017, 04:09:54 AM
What do you think tomorrow will be the price of the distribution of coins? Will it reach 0.08?

I think you're asking for investment advice.
Honestly, it's better to flip your own quarter instead of looking for a reason to blame someone else if the advice is wrong.

Heads = Up
Tails = Down

(Personally, I think it will make a big drop.)

Guys I bookmark this one,
https://byteball.fr/BBdistribution.php

SO if the distribution has started already, Can I move my GBYTES to other wallet already? Or do I still need to wait for the airdrop coins before moving it?

I like the timer on the byteball.org site better.

Keep in mind, the full moon doesn't mean the snapshot has been taken.   So, when the full moon happens, the snapshot is the very first solved block.  The actual distribution happens typically within a day just in case of a re-org.   So, safe to wait, but you are pretty safe to move your coins.
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: change in terms? on: August 07, 2017, 03:51:43 AM

For every 16 BTC you receive 1 GB (1 gigabyte = 1 billion bytes),
For every 5 GB you receive additional 1 GB.

so question is. if i held 9 GB, do i need to buy 1 more to get 10Gb now? it is not clear if the 20% on top rule applies for the 9gb, or if I now have to topup everytime I dont have 5, 10, 15 gb etc.

5GB is an example showing you a 5:1 ratio  == 20%

So, 9GB + 20% = 10.8 GB

Hmm... for the last month something keeps shooting GB back every time it breaks $600. Looks like there's no ATH in sight this time.

Yeah, ICONOMI has been selling for the last month, they claimed to sell over 2398 ByteBall.
https://medium.com/iconominet/iconomi-financial-report-q2-2017-dced466c67e8
They still hold twice as much and will get another 20% tomorrow.
I wish Dev change the rule forbid companies to participate for the airdrop.

Why.  They have proven that they have stake in the game by getting that many BTC to link in the first place.  So, they have proven they are also not likely to simply dump the free bytes since they held on to the bitcoin.

What currently gives GB value is people not selling.  Who better to give a proportional value to than someone (or company) that has proven to hold on to things?

If you want more GB, you could just buy it or convert your bitcoin to it.

Is there any cap on the maximum amount to get from each wallet linked? like one BTC max for each wallet or how many bitcoins we have in our account will get same amount airdrops?

Secondly now when I open wallet asking for an upgrade to a newer version but in my wallet now have already coins. Do I need to move my coins to another wallet before upgrading or I can just upgrade it?

Thanks for your time...

To be clear on a response you received...

The cap is the number of bitcoin in existence.  Smiley

Upgrade the app.  It is stored in a different directory than your wallet.  So, it isn't touched.  You will not get a new wallet simply from upgrading.   Now, with that said, you should always backup your wallet.

can someone here help me sync my wallet in their computer (full node) and recover and send my balance in my new light wallet please?.

I responded to your direct message.

Hi! The http://transition.byteball.org/ reports incorrect BTC balance on my address, because it quotes blockr.io. Is that a problem for the distribution?

I doubt the wrong amount is quoted; however, no one can help unless you provide the address.

Tell me the address and I will confirm it for you.  Smiley

And YET it is the wrong amount. I'm not new to this, you know...

And yet, no one can help without knowing the address.  I would like to see the wrong amount to prove you right.  Smiley

PMd.

Responded.  Smiley

What is the time of the snapshot for the byteball this distribution period? And the rate is still the same per BTC and GBYTE you hold?

Read the very first post:
"August 7, 2017 at 18:10 UTC"

So, the very first bitcoin block at or after the full moon time is the snapshot (unless bitcoin has a reorg).

Before you ask, there is no way to know the exact time unless you have bitcoin insider ESP and know the exact time that block will be solved.  Smiley

Is there a way to unlink the previous BTC address? I have a new BTC address and I linked it, now I have 2 BTC addresses, can I remove the old one which has zero balance?

No, you can't unlink; however, you can get the transition bot to 'ignore' it if you create another transaction by trying to link to another byteball account.

I think you may have worried that you can't link multiple addresses?  You can.

On the oficial  site you can get a free gb of the amount  you have, how do i do it? The wallet's bote only gives to link Bitcoin adress, so how do i get the 1 gb to every 5 gb?

Anybody can answer please?

If you have 5GB, then you will automatically get 1GB added to your wallet balance when the airdrop happens.  You don't have to do anything.

you get bonus on GBYTE no matter what.

you only get blackbyte bonus on GBYTE if it is linked to a bitcoin address (which could be empty--you can do this in 2 seconds with a blockchain.info address, or on Electrum).

so 20% extra GBB + 40% extra blackbytes right?

isnt it much profitable to buy GBB with your BTC rather than link BTC or am i missing something? (assuming price of GBB/BTC remains same)

No. Don't mix up the terms.   GB vs GBB

20% on GB    (Giga Bytes)
42% (approx) on GBB  (Giga Black Bytes)

I think the confusion is people keep mixing up GB with GBB.

You get GB and GBB for linking your Byteball address with BTC.
GB gets 1:16 ratio for BTC  (Example.... 16BTC linked gives you 1 GB)
GBB gets you about a 1:8 ratio from the BTC

Bonus....
GB to GB is 20%.    So, if you own 1GB, after the airdrop, you have 1.2GB  (not including any new GB from an airdrop if BTC still linked)

Better example.....

Let's say you have 16BTC.   On July airdrop, 16BTC would have earned you exactly 1GB.    If you didn't change anything (still own the 16BTC in the same linked address), then on Aug airdrop, you would have...

1GB (prior balance) + 20% bonus + 1GB (new airdrop) = 2.2GB

Going forward: Following month airdrop (if nothing changed), you would have.....
2.2GB (the now prior balance) + 20% bonus + 1GB (new airdrop) = 3.64GB

Hate to bring up an old thread; however, it doesn't appear a good response was made.

Looking for something else and ran across this thread.

I synced as full wallet now but when trying to restore my GBYTE wallet with seed it just says no active addresses found, who can help  on this issue?

I have been able to restore wallets on my full node.

If you want me to try with yours, send me your seed words. I'd recommend encrypting them to my PGP key. And only someone your seed words if you trust them not to steal your coins.

If I'm able to recover your wallet I'll send the balance to a new address for you.

It means the twelve word seed you entered has no addresses used.  The seed addresses are empty if never used.  byteball prevents you from overwriting your current wallet with an unused wallet (safety).
