541  Economy / Gambling / Re: My betting strategies on: February 02, 2024, 02:29:48 PM
I think this is one popular strategy that most of us use, but unfortunately there are just certain leagues/competitions this whole head2head is never respected or history does not apply because it's either league is competitive or a superstition that home team never loses.
Btw, look at football leagues such as La Liga you will be shocked to see more draws than winners such that form , H2H, is thrown out of the window. To win takes a bit of luck before you secure the bag but if this strategy sees you winning more then don't change the winning formula.

From my own experience what makes this process faster:
  • Run it in pruned mode
Pruning doesn't make the IBD faster.
I am pretty sure pruning is meant to help save disk space or run a node on limited disk space...

and probably the syncing gets faster with the use of a downloaded pruned blockchain as you did with your earlier project of the RDP/VPS

when moving from 2gb ram to a 4, 16gb ram machine etc which is how I got to this conclusion but thanks for pointing it out  Cool

543  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎰 What's Your Top Pick for Crypto Casinos in 2024? Share & Discover Hidden Gems on: February 02, 2024, 08:03:16 AM

When I search on Google for 'the best crypto casino', I get a wide variety of results. But are the crypto sites that appear at the top of ranked crypto betting review sites actually the best crypto casinos?
The only problem I have with results from a Google search is that results are usually based on the site owners opinion (biased opinion) and worse off you can't always rely on platforms like trust pilot these days as reviews are bought(fake)... otherwise best way to find a good Casino see their social media platforms and how much active they are and consider age of the casino as an indication of in it for the long term...and not to close the door on new casino's sometimes a first hand experience is all it takes while risking small amounts.

Imagine how difficult it can be for a newbie in crypto gambling to decide where to play first, so let's try to help these players. I suggest we make two choices.
This is a tough one considering the great casinos out there, and honestly being around in the crypto space I have seen casinos come and go, and personally I choose to go with casino's that have a good reputation around the forum and manage to resolve any issues players have in a timely manner, otherwise we have a long list of good casinos out there...

Certainly! Here are some of my top picks for crypto casinos in 2024:
- Roulette,
- CoinFlip,
- Baccarat,
- Andar Bahar,
- Slot,
- Classic Dice,
- Limbo,
- Dragon vs Tiger

Mate I believe you answering the wrong question, you have provided games instead of Casino companies...

545  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: February 01, 2024, 11:33:52 PM
Gambling though is a risky game that the chances of winning and losing is in equilibrium but however in other for one to have a possibility of winning, it requires a steady income.
Income has never had an effect on how you win or lose, the only bearing it has its the ability of funding your account should you lose and not giving you some kind of good luck...

Having a steady and regular income is very important as a gambler because it would enable you to scrap out money you should use for gambling, feeding, taking care of yourself and family and other miscellaneous.
If you are going to have fun from gambling using funds coming from your employment, better set a budget to avoid mishaps that could happen that come with chasing losses etc.

A gambler who has a steady and regular income can have the possibility of winning because his gambling habit can not affect his personal obligations as a man even if he's an addict because being addicted to gambling doesn't actually implies that one will eventually stake all his money on bets but rather someone who plays gambling frequently. By having a steady income, he can take care of other life responsibilities without being affected by his gambling activities and moreover, someone who have a stable income can be aiming to win higher amount in his bets and might be lucky of winning one day and use the money to establish an investment.

Your thoughts on this
Mate you make this sound like having a steady income brings good luck to the point of painting a picture that even if you gamble there is no way you can lose.. which is wrong!!

Btw, aiming to win higher means two things , wagering high for huge/small profits or wagering low for high risk bets which means every option here has an element of high risk.

Just a reminder, Rule number one of gambling, gamble with money you can afford to lose... this rule here helps you not to use funds intended for other responsibilities!!
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 01, 2024, 09:49:22 PM
United playing better than I have seen them in a long time..

Not sure if Wolves isn't just the competition to give them a real challenge but this is by far I have seen them give a good game and strikers looking sharp...

And Onana seems to enjoy a decent back four support from the likes of Martinez who has shown his worth today saving a few balls from going in the back of the net from the line , but unfortunately the boys have conceded a penalty after a Casemiro challenge..game on Wolves 1-2 Manchester United

Edit:

Scott McTominay just got on the pitch and has already got a goal..talk about a superSub Wink
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 01, 2024, 07:09:33 PM
If people had the power to look into the future or turn bad luck into good luck then we would have had many millionaires out there but unfortunately in reality it's the opposite.
Better yet why don't the guys that claim to have this gift or extra ordinary power not make themselves rich.. honestly it's all about superstitions!!! Besides sometimes I think this just has a placebo effect on people as there is a change of mentality with the user doing the heavy lifting themselves.

Ladies and gentlemen let's all treat gambling to be skill and luck based & not allow ourselves fall for these desperate solutions...if you don't have the skill or don't  believe in luck don't gamble.
548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [CHALLENGE] Run A Bitcoin Node: 14 Days To 14 Merits on: February 01, 2024, 05:27:50 PM
In three days progress, it will proceed only 8% almost and I login my device almost 10 to 12 hours for fas completing this progress but I think it will not completed in 14 days according to current percentage how can I speed up this progress any suggestion?
From my own experience what makes this process faster:
  • Good internet connection
  • Storage type being used i.e SSD>HDD
  • Decent amount of ram, and anything above 8gb ram should work well
  • Run it in pruned mode
  • Run it 24/7 to make up for any lost time

Day 3:

You don't need to use your phone camera for this task mate...

could you try using a screenshot software for a cleaner and clearer picture and capture the full window of the Bitcoin node, btw snipping tool is free on Windows..good luck  Smiley
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: February 01, 2024, 03:59:49 PM
Unfortunately this is the world we live in today, and parents of today just don't give a fu*k of what happens to other humans for as long as they feed their desires... honestly in the 21st century this shouldn't be a reason to leave kids all alone at home when you can simply do this on phone or PC if you have too, tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there is another woman involved in this picture but will take the story at face value!!!

Otherwise with what I have just read this is a real case of gambling addiction and those kids need a more responsible person in the picture before something bad happens, thanks neighbour for doing your part which could change the man's attitude towards his kids and gambling edge.

this man must be responsible for his actions, it seems he is very addicted to gambling, because of gambling he neglected his two children, how could gambling be more important than his children, he is a ridiculous man
Perhaps foster care is calling or better yet a baby sitter should be a solution to all this humiliation!!

Hey cro2 been a minute, was just reflecting on how my team did in season 3 and looked at how the schedule was looking and something caught my eye.

From the link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5438071.msg63089565#msg63089565 this showed there was a match postponed from game week 4 to game week 14 of our champ HH against shogun47

and according to game week 12 this shows all games were played 11/11 without 1 match... but what happened to the shogun47 vs  Hhampuz match as there is no record they faced each other..sorry for taking you back. Some airdropped points somewhere Roll Eyes . If its my oversight will redact the text.

I love me a great Challenge and this one is worth giving a try  Smiley

Am familiar with multisigs on other chains but not much with bitcoin which is why I couldn't pass this experience the second I saw this challenge...and I don't expect the process to be any different either!

So this was a one-man job, with 2 devices acting as user1 and user2 and because I was limited with the number of free devices, a 2-of-2 multisig was my best option using electrum Wallet as this is a popular brand based on my wild guess. And having used this wallet several times, it was a little confusing when I got on the mobile version because by default this runs on the mainnet network but after switching to the desktop version in testnet mode its straightforward & nothing complicated of course... Cool

554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: stop the unnecessary blame on gambling whenever you get unlucky on: January 31, 2024, 05:29:58 PM

A lot of people have been clamoring about how gambling has ruined their life but same gambling has set some people up for life, just like every other form of investment there must always be a profit or a loss.  And life is so balanced that what works for Mr A might not be the same that works for Mr B. Likewise in gambling,  while some are crying about their loss they are some who are smiling and celebrating their win.
Life indeed isn't balanced!!

Like the famous saying, one man's meat is another man's poison and true to this, gambling has made wins from small amounts and these guys are set for life and for the losing party all I can say is greed is the father of all ruined lives!!!

Otherwise let's all treat gambling to be based on pure luck..more like 1% skill and 99% luck and this will save many of us from depression, denial and revenge gambling!

Share your thought on how gambling has come through for you if you got any".
Honestly, it's 50/50 for me I have lost big before and won some big tournaments from it and can't really complain...only regret is the 1 BTC prizes I won several several years ago win BTC was under $500 and if I was holding by now would have be laughing all the way to the bank with a new Lambo.

I have always said this edition of the AFCON is the year of the underdog but at the pace it's moving with the favourites like Senegal and Morocco crashing out, and the the the hosts from almost being sent home to knocking out the defending champions....I think this is scripted for ivory Coast to win it !!!!

You look at the remaining teams, and tell me if this story doesn't sound better with a host nation winning, otherwise they played with heart and with 2-3 games to go I think they will hang on and they can do it...

Other teams to watch out for, Cape Verde, Mali , Nigeria, South Africa.

558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: January 30, 2024, 05:38:03 PM
As a member of a family and there is a gambling addict within, which method do you think it's the best to rip off the addict from your family member?

1. Talk to them and don't leave their side for too long, show them some love and make sure they don't have anything to do with gambling ever again, be soft and gentle with them.
This is a two edged sword, first you need to ask yourself why is your family member gambling, is it for financial gain or fun..if it's fun you need to advise them to be part of the family by contributing what they can and not be wasteful with resources and if it's for financial gain I guess a more stable income try should come from finding a job and not gambling as there is inconsistent here.

2. Be harsh about it, force them to quit, let them know that gambling isn't this safe, bounce on them all the time because you love them, don't go any soft on them, because been soft won't make them see reasons why it's bad to be a gambling addict.
This approach can only be taken if you have had the conversation before otherw being harsh doesn't solve the problem.

Which do you think it's best? Some people do think that been soft and gentle will be more effective and some people think that been harder on them is the real love here, they need to make them stop by force.

What do you think?
Every situation has a way of resolving it and it's easy to take sides on best approach not until you have being tasked with such a problem to resolve.

Ivory Coast had other plans today and am wondering where they were all this long... Senegal have been forced to play extra time from a winning position thanks to some clumsy goal keeping from Mendy which called for a VaR review and Hosts got a late minute penalty.

And from what I can see, Senegalese players look tired and have nothing more to give and hoping the script won't be an exit for the defending champions...

Let's go team Mane, show us why you were crowned Champions 🥳
