581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: September 07, 2016, 12:27:12 PM
Well, I consider it a form of bingo - how many ignored troll posts per page? 1-2-3-5-10-bingo!

I guess it's a mixed blessing though. Page impressions are one thing and the Dash thread gets constantly bumped up to the top. On the other hand, the good content gets stained with all the whining and it confuses the newcomers who are looking at Dash. Looking back I would believe the spamming to be temporary. The trolls seem to move on once the promotional funding ends, can't really imagine what else powers these pour souls.

Great incentive Wings.ai! I understand that the waiting for users and investors has dampened the enthusiasm for Wings, but this is a good move to keep up the spirit for all participants. Thanks!

Just a heads up wrt the testing phase of the new code for migration to X11 & MasterNodes.

We are being very thorough and also making some tweaks to the code we know will be beneficial.

With this there is a slight delay before we make the beta test public and we are running 7-10 days behind schedule.
Sorry about that, we have no plans to rush this without doing it right.

Thanks for the update BizzyB! I'd definitely wager that it's better to wait and get things right the first time rather than there are mistakes that require a fork just as MUE relaunches. that being said, taking the Dash X11 code base, I assume that MUE can make "sporks" or soft forks on the fly if something erroneous is detected to the network?

Want to earn up to 1400% ROI by investing in a MUE MasterNode? Yeah me too! Cheesy (though unlikely)

I've been looking at theoretical returns based on multiple scenarios set out below.

If you discard the outliers and look at the median results I think it's sensible to say year 1 ROI for a MasterNode should be between 20-35%.

While that is a very healthy and attractive return, things get much more interesting when you take into account a growing MUE price.
Several experienced & trusted crypto traders expect MUE to easily hit 1000+ sats in the first year (not guaranteed obviously).

So when you take into consideration a ten fold increase in price (and assuming the BTC price remains stagnant) you could argue the first year ROI could be 200-350%.

What if the BTC price hits ATH over the next 6 months and is trading at $1200, all of a sudden you could argue a year ROI of 400-700%!?

So, back to facts & figures and ignoring optimism, please see the below, and those data alone look pretty good to sway investors to buy MUE to invest in MasterNodes.

Just to make sure the spreadsheet is clear.
Column 1 - "% of MUE in MasterNodes" - This column shows the varying amount of the TOTAL coin supply that has been invested into MasterNodes.  One MN requires a 500k mue investment.
Column 2 - "No. of MNs Year 1" - This is the number of MNs that could be active based on the Column 1 value.
Column 3 - "ROI Year 1" - This column calculates the amount of MUE return for each MN in year 1.  It is based on the total amount of reward allocated for MNs per year (14,191,200) divided by the number of MNs and the return based on the 500k investment.

I just wanted to comment on the expected returns on investment. Yes the percentages are astonishingly high, but I would believe the true returns to be in the ~25% range, declining over time, and not several hundred percent. Remember that if the price of BTC goes up, the price of altcoins generally goes down. If we were to see another ATH for Bitcoin, at around $1200, it would be a safe bet to assume that the price of MUE would decline.

This all said, I think it will be interesting times for MUE ahead. Slowly building momentum with a blockchain funded model opens all kinds of possibilities!

Hi Gosh!
Do you have more info on this flood project? Also, could it be possible, sometime down the line, to view the coin listings outside of the MIST browser?

After internal discussions, we have decided to prolong the signature bounty for two additional months, i.e September and October.
We have also considered the potential impact this may have on community owned Eggs and are going to mitigate it as part of the big PR campaign that we are starting now which will increase awareness and bring additional supporters to the Wings backing campaign.

The registration for the signature bounty is now open in Bounty thread and will remain so until September 12;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1501228

the requests for signature bounty recognition should be submitted by the end of September.

We are thankful to all Wings supporters, and are looking forward to the launch!
So when will ICO launch?

Well, nobody knows except the dev team - if they even know. My assumption reading the above statement from wings.ai is that the team is currently at least 2 months away from completing and hardening the wings platform.

You premined 100% and have created a central service that pays out coins for users who create content?
And what does this mean in the white paper:
Quote
Printed keys are kept and the drives are encrypted multiple times with unique keys generated using a hidden process.
Why would you need to hide the process from yourselves when you are encrypting & creating your centralized tokens?

Anyway, good luck with your scalability and performance, from your graph it looks a little shaky and needs improvements.

@ceti, surely you should be allowed to comment on the Dash thread and it's contents? After all, that should be Dash related Wink

...... a lot of people who would otherwise have been interested in Monero.......

This is true for me as well. Just as much as I look at charts, coin features and white papers, I find it just as important what the the community behind a crypto currency locks like. I have put off several coins and ICOs that I invested in, simply because of the community being trollish or bad influences in general. It is apparent that a few bad apples can really bring down the overall image of a project, and this is especially true for the Monero project.

How is instamine even a big deal when most new coins are 100% premined. Look at Ethereum! A huge amount of pre mining and nobody cares. The hacking however...

The big difference is the DASH instamine was not announced ahead of time.

Premined coins are obviously going to have to be announced as premined before they even consider garnering users to utilize its network.
Exactly right, those DASH were mined unfairly.

You could just as easily make the claim that the code was publicly open for everyone to read and the mining was therefore not unfair. Unintentional perhaps, but the mistake was dealt with once it was detected.

Can i mine it with linux...
Good luck for the team...

Sure you can. You could try the Pimp mining platform https://getpimp.org/ if you like, or look into a stand alone X11 miner. Were you planning on using gpus or asics?
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SSS] ARK - a Different DAO is coming! (Built on Ethereum) on: August 30, 2016, 02:09:07 PM
I open mist for 8 hours and nothing received.

Is the blockchain synced? Have you opened the page in Mist? http://www.arkdao.com
Make sure that you are displaying the correct contract in the top of the client as well. Your bots are connected to a specific ETH address, so you need to make sure that your client is showing the contents for that contract.

That's pretty much all I know about the bots at the moment. I haven't had time to try them yet.
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SSS] ARK - a Different DAO is coming! (Built on Ethereum) on: August 30, 2016, 07:17:23 AM
is there a way to speed up in order blockhain full ? because I 've run a few days tetpi mist still not fuul well. is there any advice from you for this ?

You could go looking for a Ethereum Bootstrap somewhere, but I only saw a few Chinese sites and I would personally never trust them.
Just let your client do it's thing, it will probably take you a few days for everything to sync up. Restart the client if it gets stuck and let it try to sync up again.
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SSS] ARK - a Different DAO is coming! (Built on Ethereum) on: August 30, 2016, 06:18:58 AM
Saw my bots in Mist, great work Gosh!
Now I'll have to learn how to use them and the content listing features of the SSS-ARK.
Besides the facebook page, are there more tutorials available for operators?

It's a good thing that the block size can allow for a high volume of transactions. That's future proofing right there!

What are the ambitious long term goals for your crypto token?

....

And I think the logo below is simple and effective and bold.

Looks great! I like the cleaner approach!

Count me in... I just have to get that 1 BTC to invest.. soon...
We'll probably offer a 10% discount if paying in MUE (maybe up to 50% can be paid in MUE and the rest in BTC).

Possibly also we'll offer a monthly payment option.
$100 up front, and then $40 per month.  Again same as above, with a discount if paying in MUE up to 50% of the total amount.

So while the best long term value will be the full up front payment, I think offering other payment options can potentially attract more interest.

Hey BizzyB, saw this mentioned in the MUE thread.
Is this a subscription token service running on top of the MUE network? If a partial payment is made to get a bag of tokens, how can the rest of the payment be enforced, or what happens if the merchant does not pay the remaining purchase but has received their custom tokens?

Will there be automatic SWAP on exchanges or do we have to sned this coins also into SWAP?
What will likely happen is we'll open the coin swap system while both the MUE-quark and the MUE-x11 networks are both live and maintained by hash.
People then have the opportunity to send to our coin swap system (URL to be announced later) to swap their MUE -quark to MUE-x11 and withdraw to their MUE-x11 wallets.
The MUE-x11 block reward will probably be zero for a week or two during the transition.
We'll ask the exchanges to pause trading, then ask them to update their wallets.
Then trading will be reopened once the exchanges have updated their wallets.
The coin swap opportunity will be open for a while but we will only accept coins generated before block "n" (hopefully 1750000).

I think that makes sense, happy to hear feedback and suggestions from any and all.

The swapping system sounds like a good idea, but is this something that can be integrated in a future wallet down the road? I'm just thinking that many users who are not following this thread risk missing the announcement and try sending their old MUE-quark on the new MUE-X11 blockchain and they lose their coins. I'm all for the transition and think from a logistical perspective that this is probably the best approach. Close down all trading and try to get as much of the older assets over to the new chain before opening up business again.

In order to do this though, what will happen to the PoW on the MUE-quark chain while the transition happens, or after the transition? Mining still needs to be done to build on the blockchain, but once the algo has been changed, is it still possible to move coins if there is no valid PoW? Won't the blocks all be on a forked chain and be invalid? Maybe an option to import a MUE-quark private key onto the new MUE-X11 chain? Maybe I am overthinking the matter - it wouldn't be the first time Wink

If everyone moves prior to block 1.750.000 I guess everything is OK, but for latecomers, it's a no go?
