I know we've had an upgrade and enforcement has been off but I have not had an MN payment since the 26th of March.   Everything is green at the ninja's site.   Am I alone with this....?
No you`re not, there is something not working 100% like it did in the 11.1.25 version....

Enforcement + Masternode payments are working properly. The problem the reference node takes about 4 days to get through the full list of payments and if you restart it, it won't remember where it left off. It was restarted last Wednesday, then again Saturday (when the blockchain stuck). We would be on our 2nd cycle if it wasn't for the blockchain hanging on Saturday. The next version is going to keep persistent record of who was paid, then continue on, so we won't have this problem in the future.

So I am just missing it then.  =D

Thanks!

You weren't the only one missing a payment. I too had not received a payment since 3/26. I just got paid this morning ~1.97. I think it sucks that we were due for a payment on 3/26 then the new wallet came out so we missed getting our payment. Then the payment table was cleared, then enforcement came on and the table was cleared again and we ( you and I ) somehow got bumped all the way to the back of the line and went 11ish days without payment.

Hopefully this persistent record ED has implemented will mean we don't have that happen to us again.

Looking forward to that feature being implemented for sure.

I'm actually in this coin for all the reasons arielbit (and other trolls) isn't.

The whole point of an alt-coin is to make improvements and you can't make improvements without making mistakes. Bitcoin takes the ultra-conservative approach - no changes allowed. Evan takes the opposite approach - make changes for the sake of progress, protect the blockchain, constantly improve and try to get things right.

I didn't buy into this coin because it had a 'perfect launch' ffs. I bought it to have a horse in this race and because it has a couple of uniquely innovative qualities that I think are going to make a huge difference to the quality of electronic money - i.e. addressing 'fungibility' directly without compromising the visibility of the public aspect of the blockchain and the introduction of decentralised functional specialisation to the network.

There are hundreds of coins out there addressing all kinds of challenges, some succeeding, some not, some with perfect launches, some not. Markets will end up deciding what worked and what didn't, what's of value and what isn't as well as the impact of the coin's heritage on its valuation. In that regard, if your idiotic enough to think having a 'perfect launch' is all that matters (or even that it matters more than anything else) then your going to come away from this market skinned alive. I doubt that's the kind of advice that arielbit wants his 'newbs' to hear though  Wink

Follow arielbit/adam's mono-signal advice and your coins are going to zero nine times out of ten. (Most of his already did).

IMHO if you MUST respond to trolls, THIS is the way to do it. Please note #1; the lack of any direct quote, depriving the troll of the attention he craves. #2; the reasonable tone, without shrill or corse language. #3; Content which is a pleasure to read in its own right, and adds substance to the thread.

If the only response to trolling here was either this, or complete silence, this thread would become a true joy to read, and trolls would soon realize that they really were helping our cause. Shrill, rude, and in-kind responses only give the trolls what they want, distract from the readability of the thread, and cause lurkers to wonder if we are any different than they are. Yes the trolls are frustrating, but a consistent reasoned response, or total silence, will quickly reveal to lurkers and newbies who is worth listening to.

For those who don't have Tokenormal's silver tongue, but feel compelled to enter the fray, you might consider the suggestions offered on this link and cite the trolling techniques by number: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-04-04/how-beat-internet-trolls

Thanks strix for the great link.   It has been a great help.

The troll above uses a great #3, 9 and 12,  but lots of 9  examples of trolling.... Described In my link below.

Sir...you and your ilk are truly pathetic individuals.  No newbie is ever going take your word of supposed scams, you have tanked your own pseudo moral self righteous bullshit into oblivion. ...you are a fools that put your money behind the wrong project, and under a the guise of looking out for newbie investors with your lies of scams, sold your soul to troll hell .  Sad indeed.

Good morning fellow Dash members.  Things are going along swell this morning...I'm wising to compile some of the very best posts created here in which I can continue to bump forward for the benefit of all.  If you can please forward me links to the posts that you think are relevant and informative, that would be great.  Cheers.

Well Monero is fucked for right now........XMR transactions being de-anonymized by the chain-radar blockchain
[sigh].... I thought some ideas there were very cool and showed promise...If you want ring sigs I guess shadow is best bet now

It's not deanonymization. They were using a mixin of 0, which is the same as relative transparency(Like a regular bitcoin transaction), and that makes it easy to guess the sender/reciever.

That's the whole point of Cryptonote, to allow anonymity and transparency(Mixin of 0).

Is that why there is an open bug to force minimum mixins of three in a future release? Transparency was never the idea behind 0 mixins, that's a security flaw at present.

If you're going to try and "troll", at least don't lie and at least be accurate. Cryptonote was designed to offer anonymity and transparency. The idea was to implement a default mixin of 3(Just as bitcoin-QT has a default fee, etc) so that users get automatic anonymity, even beginners when they first use the wallet. A mixin of 0 was purposely designed to give transparency, and mixins above that purposely designed to give anonymity.

Sir... None of the senior members of this forum condone this type of activity.  We all have a vested interested in continued positive adoption of crypto currency.

Ok and I agree, I also hate blatant trolling like lying/misrepresenting things/using emoticons/memes etc. I don't mind worthwhile conversations though even if about technical features and likes/dislikes, advantages/disadvantages.
It's unfortunate that this behaviour has become the norm in these forums.   There are so many truly bright individuals in BCT.  I think friendly competition is healthy and in fact beneficial.   It is when this friendly competition becomes abusive and corrosive that it throws out all the hard work many of us have done.  Here's to a better positive environment... It starts with us.

Let's troll Monero forum!

Let's not.  I'm sure you'll Ur joking but we are above such activity.  I know some members from our forum have engaged in such behaviour  and we would please ask them to stop doing so.  We should have no interest in other coins receiving negative PR as it effects all of us.

Can we stop quoting the trolls or pay the fucking troll donation fee?  I'm tired of seeing their posts, which is exactly why they are on ignore.  You can't change their minds or reason with them... They will just keep coming if we keep replying.  It's better to ignore, let the inevitable happen, which is Monero flopping, and then they will have no where to throw their 1K crypto investment (really guys... All this over 1k?) but Dash.  They will be reaching out to Mangled or spławik to run a shared node lol

Hi jiggytom....i engaged 2 know Trolls... So I'll pay 1 dash for doing so.  PLEASE post the address here and I'll make my payment.  Wink

Sorry you don't appreciate my contributions to your thread, I should have realized this was a "cheer-only" zone.

You see that's where you're completely wrong. It's not "cheer-only" but it is about being constructive. There's nothing you do that's constructive. All you're about (which is why it's embarrassing thinking about the fact that each day you actually think these thoughts about coming here to do this) is cry foul, put shit on the many excellent people here and try to turn away new people that are expressing an interest. You've decided that Dash is a scam and you're just going to scream that non-stop from the rooftops without any critical thought process or rationalisation. And you wonder why people here "don't appreciate (your) contributions". Are you insane?

No cypto has had perfect launches, no crypto is immune to aspects that are potentially imbalanced in the way it's being handled. But like bigrcanada keeps pointing out and none of you knockers want to acknowledge, no one has been hurt by the rapid mining at the start of Darkcoin/Dash. We all dealt with it a long long time ago. It just isn't of any importance to us. So some people have a lot more coins than others. Well, good for them, they were in the right place at the right time. Just like early Microsoft employees that ended up being multi-millionaires many times over simply because they held such large stock parcels from the early share schemes that were so very generous compared to today. They were in the right place at the right time....but they also had to hang in there and work hard to turn their opportunity into something.

It's the same here, some people were in the right place at the right time but their potential benefits are far from being realised. There's so much more work to be done and so many mountains to climb before true greatness can be achieved.

But we're all here because Dash represents something profound and of tremendous substance. We know that some people have access to far more Dash than others. Just like how wealth is so poorly distributed in the world; there are now 2300 billionaires and they have far more 'access' to $USD than most others do. Is it fair? Not always. Have they had to work hard? In most cases yes? Were those billionaires in the right place at the right time? Often, yes. Is it a scam that these 2300 have so much money compared to the rest of us? Well, in some respects when you look at the way the Fed operates and the manner in which the big international banks conduct themselves under provisions made for them, yes it's a big ugly boys-club scam. In other ways many of those 2300 billionaires have earned their money fairly and squarely. What we're hoping to achieve with Dash is something infinitely more beneficial than the current fiat financial systems (as are most of the major crypto projects). We're on the way to that and there's every possibility we'll achieve it; but we're never going to get there through never ending criticism and negativity in the style you're embroiled in. We have to have a high goal before us and STRIVE to reach it. That will never come if we're not using critical thinking and perception so this thread is far beyond how you've characterised it.

All your screaming and frothing at the mouth is truly just an embarrassment Adam. And one day you'll fully realise this and wonder how you could have acted so badly and with such reprehensible disdain for such good people building something so revolutionary and useful that will go on to benefit humanity. That's the unfortunate future realisation you're going to have to grapple with, and it's not going to feel good for you. The good news though is you can change your ways and become constructive rather than just a wrecker and destroyer. Then, years from now you'd really have something great to remember rather than just embarrassment.

Thanks sir for this prose.  Well said.  Alas individuals like AW care not and will not change and we must abandon them.  There is a nefarious agenda at play with these several individuals that has yet to play out.

Thankfully... Their voices will fade as each day passes.  Let's help further this by ignoring them. On to more productive discussions....

And that is why I detest socialists!  Lol.  Well...couple of things I have learned.  They are scared of us... That is the only explanation why they are here... And as long as I keep seeing their names scroll by... I know we are winning...and the more I know they aren't working on  completing technology.  It's a win win here for us. Good night people....

I own 852 coins in DRK or whatever its called now, still have not downloaded the new wallet as I keep all my wallets offline and never got round to it.Now I hear there Is one man running the show through the dark coin foundation !!!
Can you please explain your role on the foundation board and how you came to obtain the position? Was there a vote I missed or something?
Nothing has changed since you last bought drk/DASH.  It's now finally been rebranded to DASH.  There have been a couple of personal changes.  Same core Dev team... Same plan and vision.  That's it.

FYI... Foundation members,  I believe Vote,  for foundation board members.   Holding dash which = currency does equal voting... No more then a Chinese national holding USD gives him the right to vote for a president.

So many of the individuals here really don't understand.  Any negative banter effects everyone...on all crypto coins.  Most of everyone here just doesn't seem to get it.  They have an agenda... Not realizing that they are screwing themselves.  In our case the instamine...well it happened,  nothing can be changed

LoL ! Your giving them too much credit. It's not even as complicated as that.

Here's the real reason for the trolling - nothing to do with the "instamine".

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1001642.msg10959114#msg10959114

 (Point [2])

Unfortunately I agree.  Their use of instamine is a white herring.   It masks some other agenda yet not revealed.  A shame that there are so many morally crippled individuals trolling here.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: April 05, 2015, 01:18:53 AM
There is certainly a bigger picture here.   So many of the individuals here really don't understand.  Any negative banter effects everyone...on all crypto coins.  Most of everyone here just doesn't seem to get it.  They have an agenda... Not realizing that they are screwing themselves.  In our case the instamine...well it happened,  nothing can be changed.  And truly who did this hurt,  where is the proof of harm to anyone? Who by that happening,  was harmed.   No one.  It's smoke and mirrors  ... And by now it's all Dispersed.  In fact I see it as stroke of good luck.   It allowed us to fuel paying full time Devs instead of starving and begging for donations.  Others don't see it that way, still no proof of harm... At this point it's old hat.  What we don't need is mud slinging at each other.  Joe public does not care or  have a clue what or why instamine is... And who cares.  It's a crusade point for super geeky crypto heads that care and everyday users. In fact it's assumed that those that create something should be handsomely rewarded.  In fact,  what these individuals are people proposing is a socialist view that I don't believe in.    In the end... Your actions hurt everyone... By acting juvenile and ranting about something that is no longer relevant.  In the process.. Hurting everyone in the crypto world.

I'm still trying to help, granted I've made quite a sum from this cryptocoin, don't try and present the option that it has a future outside of this forum. I warned Tanta on her previous account in 2014 that dumps were going to happen and I hope she did the right thing. While I'm at it, the instamine of this cryptocoin is it's own personal barricade. I've presented the opportunity to invest in alternative currencies besides Bitcoin to my investment group and one common factor most of them all shared, was that they were never going to invest a dime in Dash, named Darkcoin at that time mainly because of it's instamine. What would ordinary people think? A friend and myself were the only ones that invested and made a huge return on this crypocoin, partly because we knew something like a instamine would be perfect for "pumping" and the like, not much else.

Just a friendly reminder to not get sentimentally attached. Goodybe for now.

What is not stated...  What is wrong with profiting from your invention?  Where in the rule book of crypto coin development does it say a rule was broken.  You can either be like me and believe that you should profit FROM your handy work... Or your a socialist.

Edit: and I would dear say that human history...proves me right....

Thank you, hopefully you can also tell him that cryptography is prominently used in cryptocurrencies.

Again, I did not participate in the original discussion, so I don't know exactly what toknormal said. One thing I am sure of it that he is one sound analyst and has an extremely sharp and proven sense of the market.

cryptography as a verb, adjective or noun?

One thing is cryptographic practice, the other is cryptographic properties, the other cryptography principles.  Three entirely different concepts subject to interpretation.

You can go through my posting history to show you exactly what he said(It was entirely wrong, even gmaxwell corrected him). He said crytography, so we can only assume it was in general and encompassed all that you've listed.

Not doubting his analysis skills, he just continues to argue many false points while subtly changing the wording to fit his favor.

I don't know what it is about you Monero people, but you just can't stop coming here to this thread and arguing. Toknormal is a highly respected member of this community. He's not a dev but has a sound overall understanding of the different architectures and technology configurations found in crypto and how that's relevant to the economics/practicality of adoption/real-world-usage. Your statements that he is clueless are offensive and WRONG.

You're just like so many of the Monero people that continually post in this thread, you're pedantic and desperately looking for opportunities to "catch out" individuals you're engaging with so you can trumpet how ignorant they are and how much more knowledgeable you are.

It is so immature and so lame.

We know that most of you don't like (actually let me rewrite that "detest") DRK/Dash and everything about this project, all of which gets right up your noses.

The mature and reasonable thing to do would be to just say to yourself "each to their own" and leave us be in our "ignorance" and "cluelessness" so you can focus on your own crypto project's success.

But no....alas....you (and a whole lot of others) just HAVE TO come here and argue with us and treat everyone here with disdain.

Really.....it's beyond pathetic.

I too have struggled with this odd behaviour.  I would like to think these individuals are normal members of society with normal family environment in which to live.   If this is not the case.... Then this would fruitful grounds for those doing human profiling on what must certainly be red flags for those that would easily become psychopaths. It's truly alarming that these individuals are ratcheting up their rhetoric.   This poses a potential danger  for members of this thread,  their own families and society in general.  Very worrisome and very sad.....
