Tough question. If we leave conspiracy theories alone, I think it was because some people expected a rally after RC4, and when it didn't happen, they got frustrated and decided to sell (which led itself to downward spiral where more people wanted out because price was falling). And why there was no rally after RC4? Partly because it was already priced in, and partly because it was unclear whether it's working or not if you were only reading this thread, which most buyer candidates are probably reading. If you were on the testnet testing and reading bug tracker etc you knew what to expect, but those people already have bought all the drk they could possibly need ages ago. So I bet it was very confusing time (and still probably is) for those deciding on whether to invest or not. What is needed imo is a bullet proof UI/UX design that makes it impossible to not understand what's going on or make anything that might interfere the initial anonymizing process. When that is done, PR machine can start recruiting new blood, not before. Excellent...so how do we move forward? |

The hole crypto market is entering a dificult fase,New York regulation as they want to controle the crypto market has many bad things proposed,there are people willing to close there miningpool and what not,all this fear will drag the price down off all coins and i'm sure when the regulation starts the bad news for the crypto eco system will start and people convert to fiat again,i believe this will be also the abbused reason to drag the prices down even further to the lowest we have ever seen after November 2013.
Crypto will take a big hit but will survive as always,i say get your fiat ready and buy BTC low in a few months from now,sell anything in your house you can live without and safe the money for the biggest drop we have ever seen!
Thing is crypto was invented to take on people like BL and the system he represents. Do you really believe one state in one country(a dying country) will have such a devastating effect on crypto? I'm ready and waiting to catch the knife if bitcoin goes bellow $300. Anyway Dark solves the problem. It will be worked around, just like most regulations. I agree...this means crypto has to develop full circle of use. In otherwords where is needs to start is creating a complete fiat free ecosystem. this may take years and even decades...but that is the future, were you pay the farmer in crypto, buy groceries and other essentials in a closed system free of fiat. This is a long time away yet...but I too don't care about NY and their regulations...Asia, Europe and London...and the rest of the world is HUGE! Sure...if you live in NY its going going to be difficult at first...but if they figure out how to smuggle H out Afghanistan or C from Mexico in one of the most highly regulated and surveillanced countries in the world...well lets just say where there is a will .....there is ALWAYS a way. |

RC4 even rolling out perfect would not have stopped the tide. What has happened was nothing Evan & devs are. its a market. trading driven thing. darcoin is no different then at any time in May. Development is solid. i obviously see the bottom here now for sure. im calling it. lets keep on rolling. the future is bright now! |

BAD crypto community behaviour kills the last real crypto project ?
As i mentioned over the last weeks again and again that crypto community has the ugliest behaviour with their never stopping
scam, fud and p&d. Now it looks like crypto has done. No fresh money comes to these ugly markets.
Only the left over money changes from hand to hand until nothing is over.
Which coin should a cpu miner mine ? No one is left over !!! CPU miners have done, crypto has done.
Diff on DRK is as high as before the crash, only price is the half. Only cpu miners who have free
power can mine without lose money by mining.
I spend nearly one year with crypto as i thought it is something against the banksters, but crypto community is too stupid
and kills itself.
Crypto community is more greedy than Michal Douglas could ever be as an actor on wall street.

ive always maintained that we are all in this together... we need to have new blood. we should be setting up workshops or inof booths at college campuses, and high schools. we need the next generation to take this torch and make it there. we should be hosting meetings at local coffee bars and small local gatherings, little info booths at local farmers markets.... this is where a revolution is happening right now with all the hipsters. We need to capture their imagination like i did back in the day. All "quality" cryptos should be working together and form an association of crypto coins. |

Frankly, I should have seen that coming after reading. Clearly,so many scams pulled the funds out of the system, and that's where we are. On the one hand, I wish I had sold as the market was going down, so I could buy back and gain more coins, but frankly, at the time, I was to scared to. However, I also am here to support the coin, so I'd kind of feel guilty if I were to bet against my coin, LOL. Crypto currency is extremely volatile, and I think it's true that Ethereum is eating the liquidity up. If I had funds, I suppose I would have bought some Ethereum, but there is something that I'm not comfortable with there. I guess it's because Evan is a coding machine, a work-a-holic, and I'm not sure if those kids putting Ethereum together will have the staying power. I really hope they do. They're doing stuff I wanted to see Darkcoin do, and hopefully will do in the near future. I suspect we'll beat them to it because they're still way behind us, and we have as large a team as they have now, even so we used to only have 2 developers, I believe we're up to 5 now. And they're good. So, yah, I hope Ethereum comes through for all the people that are investing. As for us, we'll probably float low for a while. We'll perfect DarkSend, we'll add other services, and when the other alt coins crumble in the natural survival of the fittest, Darkcoin will be a survivor, I have no doubt. None of what is happening with the price is reflective of the quality of the work being produced. I only wish I had money to invest, it's awful to look at this price and be broke! LOL I hear ya sister.  |

First of all, hello forum users, I'm one of those unlucky DRK bagholders, when I bought some DRK's the price was x4 higher, maybe it's not that much, but almost all what I got, don't need to say how I feel right now. I am seeing it right ? http://drk.poolhash.org/darksend.html36 MN's less after this midnight, so it means 36 000 DRK's ready to sell ? NO a lot of people are still updating or have not even yet updates. I have 2 (soon 3) MN's, but i was traveling and now i am too busy to update. so hold on to you knickers, there will be more soon ! I think it's a combination if several things, tungfa, some might be doing maintenance, some might be just starting to upgrade their MN's and yet others may be cashing out due to the current environment. its my belief its reakly going to be a combination of all if the above... Master nodes are always in a fluid state some coming some going. I know of several people that are putting MN up including 5 for me... when i have a second to get to it. Hope that helps. |

Masternodes are great because there is dedicated infrastructure to processing the anon of the network, this infrastructure can be treated separately from the users wallets. I certainly don’t like the idea of my local wallet having to be open and processing other people transactions and I specially wouldn’t like my own coins to be involved in the process.Plus masternodes can be leveraged for other uses down the line giving Darkcoin options instead of just counting on users wallets.
Reality is Darkcoin has a great approach and this price dip will give people the opportunity to buy more coins to create more masternodes. Think about it this way it is a self balancing system, with the higher prices a lot of people that wanted to have a node or were close just couldn’t afford it, now this people can complete their 1k DRK and set them up, when it all settles we can have more masternodes than before and less coins available in the markets.
Evan will continue to develop and we are finally in the right path from the anonymity perspective, denomination and mixing the whole coin supply as opposed to do it on a transaction basis was just brilliant. Between RC3 and RC4 he had to rewrite the whole thing, he wont have to do that any more, so things will go faster now. IP obfuscation is next and then open source, when the people that need anonymity badly because they are taking real life risks based on that anonymity get to review the code and compile themselves then they can really start using it, before that they just cant risk it, they don’t care about buying low or whatever because they have real use for the system, the price is not where the value is for them, transacting and remaining anonymous is where the value is. So things will happen in due time.
If in around 6 weeks Evan and team were able to rewrite the whole thing, imagine where will we be 2 months from now from a technical aspect? The dev team have shown that they just continue working hard improving and correcting regardless of the market. I for once don’t care about the short term price, I wouldn’t sell for 50USD tomorrow so I am glad more people can get in now. All I care about is the continuity of the project and as long as Evan is on board I am on board and will try to help anyway I can, because you don’t get this kind of transparency in any other crypto coins. People come up with a million excuses as to why their devs remain anonymous or don’t do public testing, while Evan continues to develop in front of everybody and being transparent about every issue that arises, now that's where I want my money. Each person should decide where to invest.
Now I am going to go create some more masternodes.
Last time, when i was banned by some idiot in this forum, i just think it not worth of waiting time here where someone spread Fud or troll get nothing while ppl struck back got banned. But this post worth my registration again for quoting.
