...

If you ever spend any significant time around mid-level managers, VPs, or C-Level executives (or if you are unlucky enough to be one yourself), you see how their entire workday is just slammed full of meetings. Meetings meetings meetings. And boy do they ever love to go to meetings, and talk and pontificate about pointless shit. All day, every day. ...

I read about some executives having a meeting to arrange a meeting.
Need to have a meeting about that. More seriously I like to have pre-meeting meetings where we hash out all the details. Then meeting goes smoothly and is over in 10m giving us 50 to sleep.

If I recall correctly there was a Dr. Who special with the Dr being Hugh Grant and a woman in 2000, so she was certainly not the first.

But yeah, crappy stories can wreck any show. Who goes through shit spells it will get better.

Speaking of Covid, here's a clinical trial using a cocktail of low cost, readily available therapies (MATH+) given to various stage hospitalized Covid-19 patients.

https://covid19criticalcare.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MATH-plus-Rationale-Journal-of-Intensive-Care-Medicine-Dec2020.pdf

Just look at the result outcomes on page 14.

Quote
"The  average  hospital  mortality  at these  2  centers  in  over  300  patients  treated  is  5.1%, which represents more than a 75% absolute risk reduction in mortality compared to the average published hospital mortality of 22.9% among COVID-19 patients."

Of course the MSM has been dead silent about this. Gotta push those expensive vaccines.

Hm. An impact factor of 3.2 for this journal. That's not too bad, thanks for posting I'll read it. Still I'd rather not go to the hospital in the first place so I'm soooooo ready to be vaccinated. As they say in downtown: Stick the needle in my arm baby!

No shitcoin has replaced bitcoin in over ten years.
And no will do that for the rest of our lives.

God I wish people would stop with the shitcoin stuff. Ethereum is a coin in bad faith, has been ever since the DAO "reversal" which showed everyone just what ether really is and what they think about ownership.

You own bitcoin. You don't own ether, they let you have it. For now.

Lesson from owning a cruise ship...there are a lot of people/systems in place built to extort you once you have something of value that you want to keep.

It's ridiculous. Throwing millions here and there just to fend off people from using the force of government to take away our property.

I've been watching the TV show Yellowstone, which has a similar storyline, only with a guy and his ranch.

I was a minimalist just 3 years ago where I only owned about 40 items (including every piece of clothing). It was bliss. No worries.

Of everything I think bitcoin is the easiest thing in the world to actually own that has value.

Though it appears that CSW is trying to join the ranks of those utilizing the force of government to go after that as well. Fuck that faketoshi guy.
It is interesting, isn't it? How many millions did you give those rotters and looters in exchange for "freedom" which turned out to be an illusion? Not trying to be a dick here, but it's an interesting thing to ponder who has the money now and why they have it.

Re-reading Atlas Shrugged every once in a while is an experience. Yes a lot of the writing is crap, but the thought of a solid gold bitcoin logo in the center of a town is..... interesting.....

So reading about the "double spend" thing, I don't get it: Guy did a cheap fee transaction that sat in mempool. Guy did another transaction with more fee coin to try and free it. Block was confirmed with the low fee transaction. So his wallet should still have the bitcoin from the higher fee transaction in his wallet, the low fee one confirmed and an alternate reality where the higher fee was charged simply didn't exist.

This is not unusual or a big thing. Saying it was on "two chains" is invalid as there is only one real chain. He might as well have posted the fee to testnet.

Oi. I see bigger problems with the idea of sending bitcoin to a BCH address by mistake (which can still be read by the recipient by loading their wallet on the real chain)

It's bullshit though, they have no intention of doing anything like that.

It's all about selling MMT as a better alternative. They're buttering up the public with fear in order to gain support for their money printing.

Please, print da money! That simply means more opportunities to buy bitcoins.

Kinda neat that Bitcoin is on sale, hope it holds till I get yet another $1400 check to buy coinz.....

New POTUS installed. The USA didn't collapse. Onward to $50k ASAP pls.

This is not a political post.

Fight me.

With the President in, I think it's time for the final image.

There is a time and a place for celery.
But not here.
Not now.

I'm not 100% in favor for this watch but still I do love traditional watches more over sports watches or apple watches or whatever ...
Quote
I wasn't referring to sports or Crapple watches. I was referring to the need for watches at all. Cellphones are pretty much de rigeur in today's world and every cellphone tells you the time, updated regularly.

The only use I see for wristwatches is for decoration and I don't wear jewelry or tattoos.

all i use my smartwatch for is for reminders (set on its calendar) and such. as being retired the only real reason i need to know the time/date anyway is for meds and MD visits lol.

and yeah phones tell the time. if you wanna dig it out of your pocket. but nothing beats smartly snapping your arm out and reading the time off your watch though. old school but satisfying anyway.

before smart watches and such, i always liked those old school LED watches (you know the ones you pressed the button and it lit the time up in red LEDs). they must still make retro models or have used ones for sale somewhere.

edit: pretty sure i messed the quotes up so took the names off. sorry
Yup, LED watches were neat, but the problem is they needed two batteries for the display so they were kinda big. Still, the Star Wars watch in 1977 is a classic in design and function.

Pulling all my coin off Gemini, cancelled all outstanding orders, and moving the fiat back to my financial institutions.

Got a really bad feeling about tomorrow.

Gut is telling me we're going to see a massive pump above $50k within 72 hours.

Hope I'm wrong.
Noted. Let's see what happens.
617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 19, 2021, 03:34:22 PM
The thing is, traditional watches are functional jewelry. Every digital watch comes off like a modern toy in comparison.
Never saw a digi watch that did fit to an elegant suit, they always look cheap somehow.
But this thing is a monster, purely for attraction (and obscurity?)
Nothing beats a classic Rolex imho, but you need big hands as well to make em look really good.

Agreed. Pocket watches are always the best, but if you need an amazing wristwatch I would recommend a Hamilton 505 Ventura or even the Pacer. Futuristic in 1961, futuristic in 2021 (holy crap, it's been 60 years)

They actually CAN innovate, in some respects in a much more efficient way as they are not hampered by the evil capitalist IP-thingy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGJ5cZnoodY&t=3s&ab_channel=WIREDUK

As you can see, they actually innovate new products which are then branded by EU or US companies. Next step is the branding itself - anybody seen those commercials for Haier lately?

Oh great, an hour video. Let me get some popcorn....

Meantime, I'm going though old wallet backups to see if I left any bitpennies under the couch. Damn it takes days to replay the transactions on 2015 era wallets.

China is still the underdog in terms of semi-conductors but their engineers learn fast. There will be a time where China can no longer be put under pressure through the Chips/semi-conductor industries.

Interesting stuff.
They learn fast, but the key is they can't innovate for shit. Mostly copying other peoples' ideas. Which means they are always 1 step behind.
