601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 11, 2021, 10:27:23 AM

I agree with galambo. Usually I post here, when I need to debate on the ICC funding, associate member status, player issues.etc. These are not specific to any one format of cricket, and therefore I guess this one is the most suitable thread. Anyway, it is manageable. Look at this sub-forum. You can find dozens of threads each for football and boxing. So I don't think that there is anything wrong in having an additional thread for general discussion. Also, I guess this is the oldest thread related to cricket in this forum.

Glad moderator hasn't locked this thread yet. There are more votes in favour of this thread vs against. There is thread for every football league but for all cricket leagues we have one thread here. All other thread are occupied with cricket matches discussion, let this be for general discussion.

I came up with the idea to lock this thread but seeing people wanted to keep this thread open is perfectly fine too provided we keep this thread as active as the other three format-specific threads. I noticed that after a few posts, no one discuss here and after weeks, someone again bumps this thread for a brief discussion and then it again goes into hibernation.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 11, 2021, 06:51:45 AM
I do agree with you. I was of opinion that England will have upper hand in this Ashes as they have strong team compared to Aussies. Full credit to Cummins, he bowled well in his first test as captain. He was first fast bowler captain for Aussies in 70 years.

First test as the captain for Cummins. Let's see how it goes from here for him. England was perhaps a bit overconfident? They didn't played any warmup matches before the first test. The only match practice they had before the Brisbane test was the abandoned match between their A and B teams, which lasted for just 29 overs (two and half days out of three days washed out). Increasing number of COVID cases in Australia (as well as the ongoing BBL) means that they can't yet schedule any matches against the first class teams.

Now it's too late to discuss the warmup matches and why England did not opt for them. I do think that the England team, after this loss, will come back strong in the second test. They have the players and talent to turn the tables, therefore Australians can't relax and take things for granted even though they have won the first match.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 11, 2021, 05:01:04 AM
Excellent batting display from the England, mammoth target of 20 runs. Australia is in big trouble.  Grin

LOL... Before the start of the series, 90% of the users here were saying that England is going to whitewash Australia. And look at what happened. Australia very nearly pulled off an innings victory. BTW, I haven't seen too many posts congratulating Pat Cummins. We can't ignore his contribution here (both as the captain, and as the opening bowler). He made his test debut 10 years ago, at the age of 18 years. And this is very rare in Australia, where the selectors normally doesn't consider players for national team selection until they are 21-22 at least. And I guess he was the last teenager to make debut for them.

England batting again collapsed in the 2nd innings. When Dawid Malan and Joe Root were batting at 80+ each I thought they could turn the game around for England, but none of the remaining England batsmen were able to show any big performances and Australia easily won this test match.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Hash rate returned to its All-time high on: December 10, 2021, 09:21:17 AM
After the Bitcoin hash rate dropped down since June 2021 after China climbed down on Bitcoin miners, this week the bitcoin hash rate has returned and made a new all-time high in its transaction hash rate which points to one thing that the price of the cryptocurrency will see a new twist in uptrend dimensions.

It was badly affected in June because of the China fud within the Chinese and the Bitcoin miners ban and this has a direct effect on the hash rate of Bitcoin.

Eventually this has to be resolved because bitcoins will continue to be mined world wide and not necessarily it is China dependent.

Will bitcoin cross the all time high this year , this is the question yet to be answered and no one has the exact answer.

605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HODL, HODL when can one actually sell Bitcoin? on: December 10, 2021, 09:02:46 AM
the purpose of holding is to wait for the price of the coin to go up, so if the coin you hold doesn't have potential then hold is the wrong choice, in my opinion, if you want to hold, choose a coin listed on the top 10 binance market, there is a possibility that the top 10 has potential in the future.

Holding  is not only to wait for the price to go up. If you have this mentality then you will sell a coin when it reaches 2x 3x.
Holding means that you do not sell the coin until it reaches  your desired target and a desired target could be 50 x 100 x depending upon the cryptocurrency which you have selected and its market cap.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Isn’t KYC anti-ethical to Bitcoin? on: December 10, 2021, 08:27:55 AM
When i first heard about bitcoin, one of the selling points then was the pseudo anonymity. But as of recently, it is hard to purchase any crypto without encountering a form of KYC.

I’m just curious of everyone’s thought on this.

Yes Bitcoin was designed keeping in focus the decentralized and anonymity factor in mind, but due to the government rules and regulations, we can only purchase crypto after kyc on the p2p sites. The sites are boumd to perform the kyc because they think its a way to prevent money laundering.
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 08, 2021, 06:52:08 PM
It is team Bangladesh. After losing all their wickets for just 87 runs in the first innings, they started batting in the second innings today. They lost 4 wickets in just 25 runs. With such a weak team and weak batting lineup, it would have been better not to play a Test series against a strong team like Pakistan. Bangladesh should have played T20 and ODI series against Pakisthan. Then they could fight a little.

If the team can't win or perform well in the test matches, don't expect any better performance from them in T20's and ODI's. After bangladesh scored 86 runs only in the first innings and were followed on, there was no way they could save the match. They showed a poor performance in the WC previously and now the recent series was a complete disaster for them.
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 08, 2021, 06:39:27 PM
I really think that the cricket board selectors should do a better job and I say that to almost all the cricket boards and especially those who are not doing their job right. And this hurts me to say but the West Indies team could have been a lot better if they did not face certain problems from their own cricket board. We can see this problem happening in also cricket boards like Zimbabwe and South Africa and also in recent times with the Bangladesh cricket board.
West Indian biggest issue is they are grouped of seven independent countries and all countries are having their own quota which is concern and sadly no one country able to have separate cricket board and his own team, so this is main dead point for them, and they are losing some very good and talented players and now sinking down day by day from all three formats surely in near future they will be able to have just good matches against teams like Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Ireland because Afghanistan is also going to be very good team in next few years, and they will be not able to compete with them.

And Issues in Zimbabwe and South Africa are completely different from here because here mostly white guys are better in quality and blacks still struggling to adopt this all with some good love for soccer and rugby.

I really don't know about White guys being better in cricket and black guys being better in football and rugby. Certainly not when I see Makhaya Ntini and Ronwen Williams. So I think that the black guy white guy thing is not totally right. But they do have some problems surrounding this issue. And West Indies also might not seem to be in these problems but I don't think they are completely out of it altogether.

We are near the end of 2021 and still some people are discriminating between white and black players  Huh
The color, region and religion does not matter and the only thing which matter is the performance of the players. Although i do think that black players do not have much facilities like the white people to excel in cricket and other sports.
609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments planning a Crypto Crackdown? on: December 08, 2021, 06:15:44 PM
Recently, many governments have been showing increasing animosity against Cryptos. While the US is preparing to launch a Blockchain surveillance plan, other countries such as Sweeden are showing signs of moving towards a crypto crackdown by criminalising mining.

Should we be worried about this?

The trend of using bitcoin in many transactions is getting higher day by day as compared to fiat. If we look into the financial perspective. It may have a great impact on the economy. Governments should formulate regulations on crypto markets rather than banning or crackdown. Also as about the crackdown on crypto, I think it would be practically impossible for the government. However, nothing can be exactly predicted.

To tell you the truth, i am not afraid of government crack down on cryto currency but what is fear is the news of this crackdown.
As soon as we hear the news from any reliable source that government in banning crypto or arresting people for using crypto, all of sudden we may start to see the crypto prices dump.  Sad
610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 08, 2021, 06:00:27 PM

Note : Guys would be better if we move this discussion into test thread.

Since we have a separate thread for test matches, one day and T20, then what is the purpose of this thread.
I can see this thread was created in 2015 and is the oldest cricket thread created 6 years ago but now it's time that we lock it. Any opinion on this?

Let this thread live, don't lock it. The other three threads are about T20, ODI and Test. While here we discuss incidents other then these three formats. Recent news about H Pandaya and Tim were shared here. of course we cant discuss them in other three threads. So I am of the opinion that just this thread live.

Just curious to know why that news about Pandaya and tim can't be shared in other three threads made for the all three formats of cricket.
On those threads every cricket match and news can be discussed according to the relevant format.
611  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if $70k was Bitcoin ATH for the year? on: December 08, 2021, 05:12:47 PM
Will you be satisfied if 2021  ends with an ATH of $70k for Bitcoin. Will it make you more richer or it wouldn't add any value to your intial capital.
Will you regret you joined the trend late or  would you be glad you bought when the  market did a retracement? Or you are still staring at Bitcoin with some sentiment

Although I understand that this question was asked a month ago, when bitcoin prices were recovering and 70,000$ and above was looking within the reach, but now it seems that we may not make another all-time high this year and 69K would be the all-time high in this year. I am not saying that we are heading towards the bear market, We may have a extended bull market which may last in 2022 also.
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Is HODL the only strategy? on: December 08, 2021, 04:53:24 PM
Depending on your asset type and the strategy you may have different plans for yourself if you are just talking about bitcoin in my own idea holding bitcoin on your own wallet is the best idea to get benefit and keep your asset safe from and risk but still there can be some options and these are not recommended at all, for example, you can hold your bitcoins in some exchanges where they offer some investment plans how it's not safe at all and even if you use famous and safe exchanges your funds are still in danger and the option can be putting your bitcoins for collateral and take a loan to work with the money and earn more, all these methods are dangerous and if you check the bitcoin in long term you can see the best option is to holing for the long term in your own wallet.
Yes, that's the point of how we organize Bitcoin into a valuable asset without risking it and always keep it in a secure wallet. The best strategy is how we manage our emotions and finances to get long term profit. Patience is key, as the CEO of Binance tweeted "if you can't hold, you won't be rich. that's how crypto works in changing our mindset in investing on bitcoin

The first thing is that we make up our minds to hold the crypto and bitcoin in particular. If we do not make our mind, we may sell it early at very little profit. If you want to be rich with crypto, you need to hold it for the long term.
Once, you decide to hold for the long term, then you must choose the wallet wisely where you will store the crypto.

614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Role of BTC in the metaverse? on: December 08, 2021, 04:17:11 PM
I have been thinking about this for sometimes.

If the metaverse becomes a reality, what will be the significant roles of crypto in its economy?

If crypto such as bitcoin, Mana, Sand are used as means of transaction in the metaverse what will be the reaction of the government?

Do you think that SAND and MANA and all these Meta Verse cryptocurrencies will be of any worth when Facebook will launch its own meta verse ecosystem?
I think people are mistaken here who think that the real Facebook metaverse will include the current metaverse products.

Let's hope lightlord returns soon and resolve every issue related to this site.
I believe that all the issue related to lightlord and His companies had already been resolved ? from the signature campaign payments to the How Wallet issues ? so i think this is why he does not come relatively because there has nothing to explain from His part and after claiming to be under recovery meaning he has the right to remain silent till he felt like being active again or unless there is another issue arise in the future.

He has paid what he owes for the campaign, yes we can say it solved. About the hot wallet, we do not really know as the hot wallet issue is usually arise when there is a big withdrawal request. There is no more complain about it, so we can say it also solved at least for now. The only issue for now is about his reputation, he has some negative trusts now and I do not see any effort from him to get rid of it.

Yes, I know that the signature campaign payments have been done already and the campaign is paused so there is no issue at that end. If the gamblers on the site are not experiencing any issues, then it's good to go. Perhaps he has appointed moderators at the site if he is not looking directly at the issues.
616  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can you tell me the bookies bookmaker who offer cryptocurrency prediction market on: December 07, 2021, 05:30:15 PM
Did someone really bet with this odd so low? how would someone profit from this low odd?
Knowing that it's posted under the special markets I assume there are a couple of users who will go for it since the lowest bet you could place in the site is 0.01mbtc but no one in their right mind would place a ton of money on those odds just for the sake of profiting.
Sacrificing a lot of money for a low profit. Indeed, from the bet it is possible to win 98% but with odds like that only people have a lot of money can bet on so they can feel the profit. Cheesy

I don't like the bets with very low odds. 99% of the time you will win the bet but what if any day is a bad day for you and you lose that bet?
Of course, you will invest a lot of money in this bet because the returns are low but I will never take risks with all of my money. You can't image what you feel if you lose a big amount in such bets.

Agree it will just give more problem since they can't go anywhere if they have problem to this site and also it's good to open this thread even though the owner is not active anymore so that if someone got compromise they can post it here to warn people about what's happening to them. It's really good for gamblers to have a basis upon searching since the post of people could help someone who's seeking an information about them.
He has an option to lock this thread and can do that anytime since he can still log in, but we all know, a thread that is moderated or locked when there is an issue is a sure sign that the owner is ignoring the casino's issue, I still believe in his last post a month ago that
Quote
Things should return more back to normal over the coming next weeks.
he did not post the exact number of weeks but knowing Lighlord he always overshoots the date.
I miss their banners I'm just not used to not seeing those signatures that bear Bitvest and 777COIN, they sometimes rule the gambling discussions  Cheesy

What is the purpose to lock this thread when the site itself is up and running? If people have a problem they will at least update those in this thread or this thread could act as a warning point for new gamblers who are willing to deposit and play at bitvest.

Let's hope lightlord returns soon and resolve every issue related to this site.

619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my Bitcoin when I die? on: December 07, 2021, 04:21:43 PM
If I die (let's be honest, that will probably happen), would my wife or family get my coins? What if they don't know my passwords/private key?

If you have not told them your private keys to your spouse or kids, and if you die, then those coins will be lost forever and no one will be able to use them. If you want that your wife and kids benefit from your saving, you need to trust them and share with them the private keys. You may keep them private in a locked safe and tell your spouse to open them if only once you are no longer alive.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: December 07, 2021, 04:01:54 PM
maybe this is a very good thing with the adoption of bitcoin from the country of El Salvador where they openly want to adopt bitcoin en masse for their country and of course this would be a very good thing because it could potentially increase the price of bitcoin back to stability in the market global stocks considering that currently bitcoin really needs recognition or adoption from developing countries for bitcoin's survival in the long term so this can be positive if the adoption is actually realized

El Salvador has taken this initiative and they should be appreciated for this. This is not a small step to make bitcoin a legal tender while the rest of the world or in most of the world governments are trying to stop the spread and usage of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
They may face new challenges and difficulties but eventually, their economy will be strengthened.
