6061  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is buying from a merchant who accepts bitcoin a taxable event? on: February 13, 2021, 06:49:40 AM
I am not very clear that I know what you are referring to, but I think the taxable event would be if you sell bitcoin to that merchant who converts it to fiat. You should clarify what you would be buying and what you would be buying it with (bitcoin or fiat).
6062  Other / Serious discussion / Is Michael Saylor the best Bitcoin Ambassador we can have nowadays? on: February 12, 2021, 02:24:50 PM
It's not that I'm proposing him to be such, it's just a figure of speech  Wink.

I remember I got interested in Bitcoin in June 2016. At the time, the character who came out the most was John McAfee, saying things like he was going to eat his dick on national TV if Bitcoin didn't reach $500K by the end of 2020. A bit afterwards he upped the bet and said 1 million. He openly acknowledged using drugs and prostitutes, but that is only what he acknowledged. At least there were allegations of him being linked to bribery, underage prostitution, rape, and murder.

Another person who has done a lot to spread awareness of bitcoin has been Andreas Antonopoulos. But I think in his case his influence has been more on  people who already had a certain interest in bitcoin, among retail Bitcoin investors or potential ones.

Instead, I think Michael Saylor is giving institutional adoption a major push. His company recently held a Summit on Bitcoin for Corporations attended by thousands of companies representatives.

When I listen to him, I hear a well-educated, calm person giving a thousand and one arguments why bitcoin is the best store of value in the world, why its value in fiat terms will continue to rise and why companies should buy it. He doesn't look like a drug addict with compulsion problems like McAfee or someone overly technical like Andreas.

All in all I hear a good salesman and I think he's going to give institutional adoption the boost it's been missing.
6063  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin is going cross $50k? on: February 10, 2021, 02:51:00 PM
I actually think that when it will cross that line is not the important thing. What is important is the trend, caused by a growing demand and a a protocol  that limits supply. The most likely scenario is that we will see it cross not only $50k but $100k this year, and the most important thing is the type of asset we own.
6064  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "Trading Bitcoin is a sign of a lesser intellect" .-Michael Saylor on: February 09, 2021, 03:16:11 PM
Would you say he is mostly right?  Well what about holding most of your coins but trading a small percentage of them?  I mean if someone daytrades, well they can get profit... holding... you won't unless you sell.

Actually, I think he is quite right, although there might be some exceptions to what he says. Trading with a small percentage seems fine for me but like to entertain yourself, not because it is the best strategy.
6065  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to buy Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2021, 03:13:55 PM
I think what we are seeing right now is a rocket that is launching. I want to get on this rocket and I think any minute it could be too late as there is already all kind of heat shooting out of the rocket. It is hard to get on at this time. So I am considering to take out a loan of say 20.000 Euros. It wouldn't kill me if it fails but I don't think it will fail. Even if it crashes it will come back 2 or 3 years later. And yes we might eventually end up seeing prices of $100M per Bitcoin or maybe $1B. I am saying this not so much because I think Bitcoin is a great invention. I am saying it because I think the Euro and the USD are currently collapsing. Now since Elon has gotten on others will get on. And eventually the government can not make Bitcoin illegal anymore because too many people are heavily invested.

Do you think taking out a loan makes any sense? The problem is that right now I can not do it because due to the lockdown my income is too low. I would have to wait for the lockdown to end. Then I can work night and day for a month so that I end up making like $7000 within a single month. With that I will easily get a loan of 20K maybe even 50K who knows?

Do you think it is worth it? This might be a once in a lifetime chance.

It looks like you are going to do whatever you want despite the fact that most of the opinions expressed are against you taking the loan.

However, I will give you mine. Instead of taking a loan, see how much would be the monthly payment of the loan you intend to take and buy bitcoin every month with those amounts. You will have much less risk, you will sleep more peacefully and in the long term it will be very, very profitable.

What I fear is that you want to win at roulette betting everything on a single number and that is a matter of (a lot of) luck, not strategy.
6066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice - Daily Story on: February 09, 2021, 03:05:04 PM
This is a good example why I don't play martingale anymore. Risking so much money to win just $3 at the end.

Nowadays I just go for the bigger multipliers 9900x or even bigger which could give you much better results. A martingale system like OP will work for some time if you have enough funds but if you don't stop on time, the red streak will always find you.

I was going to say this. People congratulating him for risking a lot to win in the end. What surprises me about this is that it has been known for a long time that Martingale does not work but I keep seeing posts from people who keep trying. The casinos must be very happy, that's for sure. The more people try the Martingale strategy, the more money they make, and at low risk.
6067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is Opening The Pandora Box on: February 09, 2021, 02:57:01 PM
Although the terms used by the OP are not the most appropriate (Pandora Box), I think it was quite clear what he meant. Simply that Musk and Tesla are surely at the top of a list of major companies who will start buying and accepting BTC. I don't count Michael Saylor here, because, although he really was the first, MS is nowhere near as big as Tesla or Apple.

Negative "profit" on my fun tokens investment. That's in BTC terms but I guess it's like break even in USD terms. I don't know if its a good idea to compare tokens to BTC in this bull cycle, as people may feel they are losing even if they are making money vs fiat.

I talked to my friends about deleting posts and I will make up for my mistakes. I will also not deny that I had a previous account, but is it a crime to create a new account and follow the rules?
I am looking to correct my past.
And please let CryptopreneurBrainboss decide on this.

I am glad that you acknowledge your mistakes and that you say you are trying to correct them, because the normal thing to do in these cases is to deny everything.

In any case, CryptopreneurBrainboss has already decided, as he has removed you from the campaign document, following the rule that if you are two weeks inactive he removes you. It is clearly explained on the first page.

Of course you have the right to re-apply, and it is up to him to decide but I would say in these cases it is better to leave some time before re-applying and to show in that time that you are a good poster/forum member.

Don't waste your time. You have been removed for being inactive, probably because your posts get deleted as you are a shitposter. And you are also probably an alt of someone who has red trust as it has been pointed out by @friends1980 in the following thread:

Yes you are completely right, I was on a shit reporting drive and mixed up your avatar with that other Bitvest participant Indymoney god dammit shame on me! Hope my publicly apologizing here (+per PM) is sufficient to you, it won't happen again!

As @friends1980 says, I have received apologies from him both publicly and privately.

Apology accepted and I have removed you from my ignore list.

For me this solves the problem.
6073  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 07, 2021, 07:57:26 PM
If you have no real content to share, it's better to keep your mouth shut.

Apply that to yourself

If you're in it because you believe in BTC as future money, hodl of course!

I'm surprised you didn't get the Nobel Prize for this phrase.

But if you're in it for the profit, any profit is good.

Is that what you call "real content to share"?

Prices will ALWAYS go up or down,

Genius

...so if you have regrets every time something went up after you sold (with profit), you're the most retarded trader in the world.

What? Are you talking to me?

If you have regrets and think it will go up again, buy in again - DUH.

Again LOL.

As for understatements, you're obviously the winner of the day. Congrats.

Yeah, congrats to you because your ego is as big as you mouth.  I've seen you in other posts and I can clearly see that you have a big mouth.

Welcome to my ignore list.

If you use a translator, you should always revise what it translates. Those tools are very common nowadays even for professional translators but they always revise what the algorithm translates. I suppose you English level is not good enough to revise it but there is something else you can do: paste the text in a Word document so it highlights the possible mistakes. After that, there still will be some mistakes but fewer, and that way you will avoid the most obvious ones like those mentioned recently:

Sometimes you write uppercase for no reason, while you write lowercase after a fullstop.

But he needs to sign up first for email subscription, before he can receive the daily free wheel of fortune spin. If he sees the "subscribe now" button under the wheel of fortune ad, he can hit it and use the email ad that you are using in your freebitco account.

Something like this - https://freebitco.in/static/html/wof/wheel-of-fortune.html

edit : NABiT also provided the post from freebitco staff about the steps.

As far as I know, I did not subscribe, and I receive the emails. Unless I did it without realizing it. But if we're talking about typing my email address somewhere on the site to receive them, I'm sure I didn't do it.
6076  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 07, 2021, 12:47:46 PM
Yes, I agree with the previous comments about the selling strategy but I would like to emphasize: never sell everything. Keep whatever percentage you are comfortable with. Imagine those who bought BTC when it was worth $1 or so. If they sold everything, they probably have some regrets, no matter the profit. But if they were able to keep a % while selling at some points, they will probably feel better now.
6077  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 07, 2021, 10:02:20 AM
That's how a fud news can effect the market  Shocked

I little bit old. Isn't it? That's more than two weeks old.
6078  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IF you saw this candle stick chart would buy sell or hold? on: February 07, 2021, 04:55:09 AM
The best strategy is to keep buying (DCA) no matter what candles or anything suggest. If you think you have enough bitcoin already just hold. You can sell partially when it reaches some milestones.

~snip

Normally these types of promotions try to build customer loyalty by giving them supposed benefits that often are not such. I am not saying that this is specifically so in this case or not, I leave the mathematics to you and others, because as I said above I am not a gambler.

I think that the success of the promotion will depend a lot on how the price of the token evolves, which, btw, has cooled off quite a bit after the initial jump.
6080  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Interest earning on: February 06, 2021, 05:12:19 AM
I would add to the list: https://freebitco.in/

I also agree: not your keys, not your bitcoin. You can try to earn interest with a part of your holdings but I would never put all in there. Bitcoin is a good enough investment not to need extra interest. Just buy and hold and if you can only buy small amounts, keep dollar cost averaging. It will be profitable enough and you won't need to rely on some site's extra interest to become wealthi(er).
