But remember. We don't know how life came about. The complexity is far greater than any way we can seriously envision a form of evolution to have done it. Since this all came about in ways we don't understand, why are you so certain that it couldn't come about again?

Cool

True.  We don't know how the first microorganisms formed here on Earth (or were brought to Earth by falling meteorites or asteroids), but everything after that we have very good explanations backed by observable data. - Our ability to observe is very limited. Nobody has seen a virus jump from one person to the next. The idea that people catch disease from each other is a pure assumption. Since science isn't that far into explaining the metaphysical, perhaps viruses and disease are caught metaphysically, by empathy between people. And maybe people get well the same way. So, our observational data that explains most of anything is interpretation and assumption.

Actually, if life on Earth formed rather quickly after Earth was formed, I am pretty confident a similar process might have occurred (is occurring or will occur) elsewhere in the universe. - I like your little "if." If the moon is almost 100% green cheese, and the astronauts just happened to land on the part that is rock, Wisconsin and California cheese-makers would flip their lids... the lids on their cheese-making cauldrons, that is.

As for human bodies, well, sorry, when you are dead, you are food for other organisms.  So you can shelf the story of Jesus as a fairytale for small children.  Sorry to break it to you, as I know your whole worldview is based on it.

But nobody knows enough about the metaphysical to know that your body is you. The idea that your body is you, is a fairy-tale for small children.

Learn about God from the Bible so you can finally begin to understand how things really work.

Cool

I would but God is nowhere to be found.  It is impossible to observe/study fictional characters.

Next time you talk to God, ask him to PM me so that I can set up a zoom call with him, and meet in person (to study and observe him).

Bible is a Bronze Age literary artifact.  It is useless as a learning tool.  Unless you want to learn about the Bronze Age cultures.

My interests lie elsewhere.

Just learning that there are lots of gods in India that reach up to 36000 is really amazing. Let's just discount the number of gods of Vikings and Chinese gods. What are they all doing now while the world is on the brink of ww3?

I always remember the words of my father that gods are all made up. just as how the monster wolf he created when he don't want me to go to the woods.
If Jesus is true, are all those who had lived before him, going to hell?

Jesus's work on the cross took care of all sin for all time. His success in rising from the dead is the thing that literally upholds the universe.

The Old Testament of the Bible is the historical examples of what happened when people obeyed God and when they didn't. Jesus is the Son of God. Things of the universe are way different than science wants you to believe.

Cool

When a person is dead, nothing can bring them to life.  It is physically impossible.

The biochemical pathways in our cells cannot function without oxygen. Autolysis starts about 10 minutes after you die.
The breakdown of cell walls and subsequent decomposition is irreversible.

People who wrote the stories about Jesus did not know what planet they were on, never mind the cellular biochemistry.

But if you are not really flesh and blood and that you simply were created to think you are that you theory is wrong.

Of course if it is what you see is what you get then the flesh and blood would truly break down. You would be correct at least about the flesh and blood body.

My life's experience has shown me the following:

the part of existence outside of me can contradict itself and basically do as it pleases.
I can choose to think and believe whatever I want about it.

The inside part of me my mind/soul/whatever can lie at times so well that it can trick me .

So basically I simply try to be nice to others and not ponder upon these deep thoughts.

Microscopes don't lie.  The physics, chemistry, and biology of living organisms have been well established.  No need to argue about it.

As for the mythical soul, well, it is a literary fiction.

Covid Stats?! They haven't even isolated the virus yet. And you have forgotten all the nutritional therapies already? This alone shows that Covid is a hoax... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5358923.msg57889907#msg57889907.

Cool

LOL.  Why did the US just happen to have 'nutritional and hygienic problem' in 2020-2021?

https://sunnybrook.ca/research/media/item.asp?i=2069

Because they have had it for a couple of decades, now. Not because they are a bunch of doctors who don't have the evidence and the proof that they isolated anything.

2017-2018 was worse. Even the CDC said that 94% of the Covid deaths were from comorbidities. That means that they don't really know what all those Covid deaths were really from. Have you forgotten that already?

Cool

Most of the covid deaths are related to organ damage due to the lack of oxygen.

People who have a solid VO2 max, are generally fit and have strong immune systems, survive the havoc covid causes.
The damage to one's lungs caused by covid infection is irreversible.

You are just mad.  You cannot survive inside Earth.  As for 'lakes of fire', where would the steady source of oxygen come from? LOL.
Does hell have in/out ventilation to the surface?

Yes the earth convulses or "vents" and volcanoes erupt and the earthquakes happen in many places.Don't assume it would be oxygen that causes the earth to convulse either. The Earth gets hotter as one travels towards the core, known as the geothermal gradient. The composition of Earth's core remains a mystery but yes as a lake is flat on the surface to your eyes on earth such will be the lake of fire within it.

BTW, the proteins in your body would denature at about 42 degrees Celsius.  Never mind the pressures and temperatures below the surface.
The temperature alone would increase by 25 degrees Celsius per kilometer of depth.
https://energyeducation.ca/encyclopedia/Geothermal_gradient

Irrelevant-Refer to point regarding your soul below

BTW, what is the soul made of?

The soul is not made of flesh. It is the individual spirit that is placed within your flesh vessel . It's what makes you "YOU" and not the person standing next to you.

I can see by your tone that no answer will be enough but lead to another question so I will leave it to the very God you question to answer you in full one day in a way better than my limited ability can but maybe Hebrews Chapter 10 will help your understanding of God's mercy.......all the way to verse 31 please.

Fire needs oxygen.  It is really an oxidation reaction.  For the 'lakes of fire' to have a fire, you (God/Satan or whoever is managing the place) would need to supply oxygen and remove CO2.  This idea is as idiotic as the rest of the Bible.  Please stop and read a chemistry textbook.

What is the soul made of? (ROFL)

Hint: We know the exact composition of the human body.

Life begins at conception.

And ends with an abortion.  What is your point?
Thats correct and I support the proposal that abortion should be banned because the people that did one are automatically a killer and the last time I checked there are a lot of things out there created for us to have protective sex and also prevent unwanted pregnancy.
Anybody that has unprotective sex should be mature enough to face the consequences rather than ending an innocent child's life.

I believe that anyone who has already had an abortion and regrets it should have no case to answer for. These women ,God willing will make the most valuabe witnesses to the wrongs of abortion because they have been through the personal experience of it and can teach the current and future generations. May God be with them in their giving witness to this.

My wife had an abortion.  We already had two kids at the time and did not want to have more.
She has been elated that it was over and we didn't have to raise another child in our 40s.

She recommends it to all the women who for career, school, or other reasons do not want to have children.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that it is not a big deal?

You are missing the point that abortions are not killing children.  They are simply terminating non-viable human life.

BTW, condoms break.  People should be allowed to have as much unprotected sex as they want before marriage, during, or after.

Women should have access to medical procedures to terminate their unwanted pregnancies.

You, 'pro-life' proponents, are making the same logical fallacy: false equivalence.

A growing fetus is not a human child. Up until 22-24 weeks of pregnancy that human life is not viable.

An egg is not a chicken.

Where do you think hell is?

You may find out one day but I genuinely hope you never do. The very bowels of the earth you live upon. If hell can be contained within the bowels of the earth in caverns of darkness while the earth further within contain a lake of fire and the earth itself is like a grain of sand among the spheres of the Heavens have you any idea how infinite they are and how insignificant we are? You cannot hear sound outside the earth yet light will travel freely through the darkness. When your soul departs your mortal body at your appointed time of death you will understand in far better ways I could possibly even try to explain to you. Sounds cannot be heard from hell but only by those within it however even light can even travel through the darkness of hell and those who see it should flee to it. Mock at your own expense if you wish but you have asked the question and I have no reason to lie or make up foolish tales that make me look like a ridiculous loon in front of the readers here (Yes I already know the things I am saying make me sound like a crazy person to the average reader and I don't enjoy being laughed at but such is life  Grin)

First torture that constitutes hell - is the loss of God;

Second torture - is perpetual remorse of conscience;

Third torture - is that one's condition will never change;

Fourth torture - is the fire that will penetrate the soul without destroying it - a terrible suffering, since it is a purely spiritual fire, lit by God's anger;

Fifth torture - is continual darkness and a terrible suffocating smell, and, despite the darkness, the devils and the souls of the damned see each other and all the evil, both of others and their own;

Sixth torture - is the constant company of Satan;

Seventh torture - is horrible despair, hatred of God, vile words, curses and blasphemies.

These are the tortures suffered by all the damned together, but that is not the end of the sufferings. There are special tortures destined for particular souls. These are the torments of the senses. Each soul undergoes terrible and indescribable sufferings, related to the manner in which it has sinned. There are caverns and pits of torture where one form of agony differs from another...Let the sinner know that he will be tortured throughout all eternity, in those senses which he made use of to sin. I am writing this at the command of God, so that no soul may find an excuse by saying there is no hell, or that nobody has ever been there, and so no one an say what it is like."

Nationalism always either leads to discrimination and/or atrocities.

A nation is an abstract concept, perpetuated by generations of indoctrination.

The simple fact is that all humans belong to the same species, all alone on this rock we call home.

Nationalism and xenophobia are two sides of the same coin.
635  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Women should work equal when they are paid equal. on: September 07, 2021, 02:35:45 AM
Women shouldn't get paid when they work. If there is pay involved, it should go to their husband. If they aren't married, the pay should be stored up for their husband if/when they do get married.

Men should have the opportunity to bid on marrying them so that they get support. The bidding will be based on the amount of money they have stored up. A woman with a lot of stored money will get higher bids, which will be combined so the husband who outbids the other men, can take care of the woman and her children if she has any from a previous marriage.

Of course, the bid money goes to the one who marries them, as well as the stored up money. So they should work harder so that the stored up money will be greater, and their new husband who bid the highest will better take cared of them.

They should remember that it is for the good of any children they have with them from a previous marriage.

Not included in this post are all the things that should be taken into account to see why they are not married with children if such is the case.

Cool

EDIT: Women shouldn't have the vote. But any married man should have an additional vote for every wife he has.

So you think women should not have any rights and are essentially the private property of their husbands or fathers, right?

What you are proposing is essentially a livestock auction for wives.

Hmm, very Biblical way of thinking.
636  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Women should work equal when they are paid equal. on: September 06, 2021, 11:18:09 AM
I know some women who works better than some men do.

But more than 80% of female colleagues I worked with believe they don't have to take the work related responsibilities and it's fine for them to work less compared to a male colleague.

Our HR even tried to put some female(only) team. They ended up quarreling themselves while the task was badly affected.

Most of us male workers work 9 to 6 without taking a break except a 30 mins launch while female workers take 2 hours for launch where they meet and talk. They even spoil the ones that are serious on their work.

While male counterparts are busy responding to the customers while also preparing documents and spreadsheets on their computer at the same time, women are using officer computers to browse for dresses.

Sorry if I'm ranting but it was a tiring day of work for me while my female colleague giggled past the whole day. Shoved some work to her face yet she failed to complete what I would have done in an hour. We are given specific responsibility as a small team (2 to 4) and there's no way of running from it.

I don't know if it's just my office or everywhere. Being a women should not give them a privilege while the male counterparts are working harder for the same pay grade.

How about we stop comparing people based on sex?

Evaluate the performance of workers.  Period.  Fire underperforming, reward overperforming.

Leave sex out of it.

Hiring quotas are wrong, regardless of how noble the goal is.  Hire the best people.

Instead, we hire mediocre workers because we want to fill sex or racial quotas.  This is wrong.
637  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Abortion should be banned. on: September 06, 2021, 10:56:52 AM
Humans say it is a human right not to be excluded from medical procedures based on sex.  Not allowing women access to medical procedures is discrimination.

Science says when a fetus is viable based on the study of human developmental biology.
There are many abortions performed when the fetus would have been able to survive if it had been delivered rather than aborted. These abortions are the most clearly wrong. With advancements in medical technology, viability outside the womb has become increasingly earlier in pregnancy over time.

Restrictions on abortion are not prohibiting women from receiving abortions based on their sex.

Abortions until viability is a decision only the mother should be taking.  Science tells us that viability is around 22-24 weeks.

If you want to be on the side of caution, make the laws allowing all abortions until 16 weeks, or thereabouts.

Restrictions on abortions implicitly discriminate against women.

Imagine if states had different laws against receiving cancer treatments based on the size of your prostate.  Some states would allow treatments as soon as the cancer is detected, others will say that your prostate has to be larger than 4 inches.  Most men with prostate cancer will be prevented from receiving their treatment in that state.  The laws would discriminate against them without explicitly stating that men are prevented from receiving their cancer treatment.

Biology tells us that only women can get pregnant. However, it is often the case that men are pressuring pregnant women to get an abortion because they want nothing to do (including financially) with the baby.

If radical, far-leftists were serious about "my body, my choice, they would make it illegal for men to pressure women to get abortions for unwanted babies. This is not the case, leftists, celebrate late-term abortions, and encourage women to cede the choice to get an abortion to leftist men who wish to avoid responsibility to pressure women to get an abortion.

You know that political leaning has nothing to do with this issue. Don't you?

I am a conservative, pro-free-market capitalist, anti-religion, pro-guns, pro-choice, feminist, and humanist.

Who told you men are pressuring women?  Other men?

Talk to women.  Do you know what happens to a woman's body during pregnancy?  For most, it is not a walk in the park.

If anything, the stance for or against abortion is driven by religious indoctrination.  It is about controlling women's rights as all Abrahamic religions are ("women shall be quiet and must obey men").

Men who pass these laws think they are 'punishing' women who have sex before marriage, not realizing that there are married couples
who want to abort their pregnancies.

The legislation should be driven by science, not a religious delusion.

Instead of banning abortion, we should make vasectomies compulsory for all males at age 14. They are reversible, so once a man has proven he is responsible enough to have kids, and raise them, we should allow him to reverse it.

+1

I'd limit men's reproductive age to 25-40.  Every man over 40 should undergo a permanent vasectomy.

This would solve more problems than one.

AND

Abortions until viability should be a choice. The government should pay for all abortions until 26 weeks of pregnancy.

So what?  Who cares? That life is not viable so it does not matter if it is human life or not.

Why are you ignoring human rights to medical procedures?  But insisting on preserving non-viable human life?

Why?  I really want to know the logic behind it.  Who brainwashed you?

I just gave you the logic. I don't want abortion outlawed, so it's myself that doesn't care, along with plenty others. Celebrating abortion becomes the slippery slope, it didn't used be like that, but radical activists have a profound ability of taking moderate concepts and shifting them into radical philosophy. And who says it's a "human right," exactly? Who says it's nonviable? A fetus is viable, it (he/she?) will eventually turn into a born human being that functions. You still have your abortions, nothing stopping anyone.

Humans say it is a human right not to be excluded from medical procedures based on sex.  Not allowing women access to medical procedures is discrimination.

Science says when a fetus is viable based on the study of human developmental biology.

Just because you don't understand how not to discriminate against people, doesn't mean discrimination must be legislated.

It is not a slippery slope as you think it is.
