621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos and gamblers are struggling with high tx fees.? on: December 07, 2023, 10:11:24 PM
That comes with working on the crypto industry. Most often than not you'd experience stuff like these especially when the market's on a surge. Now, it's up to these casinos how they'd reel people in despite the high transaction fees and longer wait times. I've played with some in the past that incentivizes saving enough crypto this early, so users put in money in the wallet earlier than they would've normally if it weren't peak season, and to shield them from suffering high transaction fees as well.

Some promote their own utility token, which can be used in lieu of what's popping in the market right now, so they don't have to pay that much money for transaction fees and are still able to enjoy gambling as they would've.
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling? on: December 07, 2023, 09:32:32 PM
Most often than not, staff wouldn’t have any say against how gamblers manage their money cause you can’t really go so far as to even subtly influence how your gambler uses his/her money. But I guess you can give them a couple cheers here and there when they win, give them a thumbs up when they land on a jackpot or something along those lines.

In any case, it would really be easier to say stuff like these if only you weren’t working for the very casino that wishes for their patron’s misfortune. I guess just come around rival casinos here and there and tell people about gambling addiction and all that stuff? But that would be too harsh, and certainly grounds for termination lol.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you deal with high transaction fee on BTC on gambling? on: December 06, 2023, 10:48:41 PM
I just use a different crypto in general. Or if I don't really feel like gambling in that particular moment, I just stop playing altogether.

You can't make bitcoin's transaction fees change in the blink of an eye, so might as well work with what you can do instead of whining about what you're dealt with. If you're not comfortable paying that much fees for bitcoin, use a less congested network or maybe use the lightning network if you're too much of a bitcoin maximalist. If it can't be helped, just stop gambling altogether for that particular day, and hope and pray that tomorrow or the next time you feel like gambling, it's much cheaper. You play with the cards you're dealt with, not complain why you got a shitty hand.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Convince Someone On Something That Will Not Work on: December 06, 2023, 10:22:23 PM
The thing is, Martingale strat does work, but for it to work, you have to have enough money/bankroll to cover your ass up. If you don't, then you're just wasting money.

I think one of the reasons why people don't think the Martingale Strategy doesn't work is because we have the tendency to play more even when we already got what we wanted, which in most cases mean we won our keep, probably earned just as much money as you would need to win back your losses and a few more, and yet some people still find the reason to play despite the fact. Which I say, is stupid first and foremost, and certainly shouldn't be the mentally you possess when you're using the Martingale strategy. because with martingale, you have to stop soon as you get that win, no matter what.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Money laundering in crypto casino on: December 06, 2023, 09:32:54 PM
I don't think there's ever going to be threats to gambling sites cause there's AML policies that protect them from becoming infestation grounds for these money launderers. If anything, the only qualms I have with the current state of the forum is that besides the fact that most mixers pay higher than standard campaigns in the forum, bitcointalk will become predominated with gambling casino signature campaigns again which is not necessarily a problem, but is a major cause for concern as it may drive other projects/enterprises away thinking they'd have no market here cause everyone's wearing casino signatures. Or maybe I'm just yapping nonsense but I feel like this will definitely be a big issue for the growth of bitcointalk eventually.

626  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Implications of War on Individuals on: December 04, 2023, 02:45:11 PM
I wonder how you can think about business when there's a war in your country.

Most of countries will use their armed forces to handle it, but if they lack of participants, they will force their civilians especially 18+ years old men to join in war and they also open for volunteers. The country will give a support about foods, place to sleep, and weapon, while the women and kids will stay in the most safest place.

So when there's a tension in your country, it's better to fly to other country. Don't too late because civilians will not able to escape except you have a duty to escape.

War is inevitable because there are few organizations that earn profit during war e.g. weapon seller.
War wouldn't stop you from needing food, shelter, and all the other stuff you need to keep you and your family safe and fulfilled. It's not wrong for OP to ask for such things especially since I see him as a family man who's at a crossroads right now, although I don't really know which country he's residing in and all that stuff.

In any case, unfortunately I don't know of any business you could make while you're at war, only after the war has finally cleared and the aftermath is laid bare. You ever watched Lord of War? if you do then you might know what I'm already referring to, although I propose a way more ethical approach to this situation. You could set a joint effort/campaign with your neighbors and eventually your country, to pick these weapons from the ground, melt them and reuse the metals for infrastructure and rebuilding. I don't know how viable this approach is so you guys might want to correct me if ever, but I see this as the only feasible way you can make profit within arms length of a war, while still retaining your morals and probably even helping your country rebuild.
627  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a correlation between liquidity and volatility? on: December 04, 2023, 02:05:43 PM
I think there is, the more supply, the more volatile the market is.

But in my opinion, the only essential factor that would really decide whether a crypto is "volatile" or not is whether it's designed to be that way, lapses on the coding, etc., or not. Take bitcoin for example. Its 21 million supply should in theory not induce some sort of volatility, I mean for crying out loud the amount's pretty low for a global currency in the first place, but Satoshi forgot, or perhaps deliberately made it so that bitcoin's allowed some form of volatility for profit. until it snowballed into this billion-dollar industry that we're now enjoying every single penny out of. Design is important cause no matter how much coins there is on your project, if it's not made for volatility/profit, it's never going to be volatile.
628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Hits $40,000 for First Time Since April 2022 on: December 04, 2023, 01:40:22 PM
What the fuck is going on with bitcoin nowadays lol. All of my friends (including myself) are expecting bitcoin to undergo some correction eventually into the future. But look at where we are right now, almost at the glory days once again! Don't get me wrong, I'm liking what I'm seeing and this definitely makes me feel optimistic about the year-ender price of bitcoin but at the same time I'm kind of getting into the prediction that eventually, we're going to hit a wall and it might even affect bitcoin majorly if ever. For the meantime though, I guess let's just wait for the whole ball to roll and expect that at the very least, by early 2025 we get a new ATH based on bitcoin's trend over the years.
629  Economy / Economics / Re: When the world is evolving, follow the trend. on: December 04, 2023, 01:27:14 PM
I say just do whatever you can to keep up with the trends in market and economics. It's so hard to stay on top of the trends even if you're chronically online and the worst part about this is that if you fail to catch up, you're doomed to fail. But every now and again people are given the chance to break the mold and set the tone for a market shift, just look at crypto and its leap-year trends, if you can't beat them, eat them basically. If you're not the trendsetter type however, just read on twitter and social media, you'd get important snippets of what's popping and what's popping off, what you should've invested weeks/months ago and what you should invest in now, among other information you might want to have.

Follow the trend but don't get lost in the process. We can have as much trends and money to make as we want, but you'd only have one You. Take care of it.
630  Economy / Economics / Re: China's real-estate sector is NOT doing well, it might bring whole economy down on: December 04, 2023, 01:17:50 PM
It's been like this for a couple years now. Saw some reads and a documentary talking about how the housing bubble in China's much worse compared to the US. Imagine the biggest housing provider in your country, who "owns" 80% of the commercial buildings in your city territories as well as a couple rural areas defaulting on their loans cause apparently they took out loans to erect these buildings, with the idea of these houses paying for themselves when they get occupied, and then getting fucked over sideways when you realize that the economy's not allowing for this to happen.

So yeah, if you don't mind the worsening political situation in mainland China, as well as the economy, might want to wait for the housing bubble in there to pop completely and then buy yourself a house Smiley time to take advantage of the people who took advantage of us.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kids and Bitcoin on: December 04, 2023, 12:39:13 PM
Start them young I suppose, go for it but don't rub it on their faces.

The thing about kids is that they think they know what they want, and if you force your ideals upon them, they'd only come to hate it, and you in the process. So in that regard, make sure that when you're proposing the idea of teaching your kid relatives about bitcoin, you make it entertaining, engaging, and something that they'd be able to remember for the years to come, good example is making this a weekly activity that is fun and enjoying so they'd keep looking for it. Oh, and of course, ask for consent from the parents before you start teaching their children bout bitcoin. It's nothing too bad in particular but asking for their permissions just makes sure that they know what their kids are being taught and stuff. Probably a great way to introduce crypto to your whole family as well!
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CASHOUT OR NOT???? on: December 03, 2023, 11:41:55 PM
I say take this chance and actually just cashout. The thing is, your perceived feeling of loss when you realize that you could've won more is much easier to handle compared to actually goading yourself to feel better when you lose all of this next match. And it's not a laughable amount of money either, you literally have a lot to work with at this point and I am guessing you could pretty much take this without any problems whatsoever since it's stake you're doing your business with.

Just take the money and enjoy your winnings, treat yourself to something fancy and savor every dollar you'd spend. Wins like these do not come that easy, so consider youself very lucky to be given the opportunity to actually experience such win.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 03, 2023, 11:05:41 PM
If you feel like people who do this kind of thing are just few and they are stupid, think again. This is so prevalent in the gambling industry that certain countries like Australia even had to impose a ban on using credit cards in gambling sites and sportsbets to make sure that no one's digging their own graves trying to gamble their whole life away. So yeah, real PSA for everyone out there, don't gamble if you can't afford shit. Gambling wouldn't give you anything but entertainment, the money is never a guarantee and by the moment you login your acccount/step inside the casino, you should already set your mind to the fact that you're not gonna win anything and you'd probably end up empty-handed after the ordeal, but don't let it get to you and just gamble for the sake of enjoyment.
634  Economy / Economics / Re: #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: December 03, 2023, 10:35:35 PM
Certainly is not. I've been in this industry for years now and god damnit do I want to just sell all my holdings to save myself from further losses. But the greatest thing about holding is that, for the most part, staying true to your cause and just keeping on what you're in this industry for's the hardest part, and once you're past it, you're basically good and safe from there. I basically used this to my advantage and actually just detoxified myself from anything that would give me a single hint of what's going on in the market way back years ago. It even came to the point where I forgot about crypto. Eventually this all paid off cause my ignorance allowed me to not have a single urge to take out my holdings, and it all went nicely.
635  Economy / Economics / Re: Flash Mob Theft -> closure of brick and mortar stores -it's economic impact? on: December 03, 2023, 10:14:15 PM
This is partly due to the fact that people are misinformed about the new laws passed regarding theft and robbery. I heard that a few months ago shoplifting was basically reduced from a class-felony crime to something like a misdemeanor or whatever (the americans gotta correct me on this one). Anywho, the way the media and basically everyone who's in on the situation portrays this is that they'd get off easy after committing the crime, when the reality couldn't be any farther from the truth. I saw people getting mugged and even gunned down trying to run the fade on some boutiques and mom-and-pop stores.

I say the government should once again be held responsible for this. Proper campaigns must be administered to make sure that the people take your shit seriously.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you see individual satoshi becoming valuable? on: December 02, 2023, 11:02:36 PM
Eventually yes, and especially as time passes by and as more and more bitcoins are mined apart from the halving. Satoshis are actually meant to prepare the whole network for such a time, cause they knew as early as decade ago that satoshis will become bitcoin’s end game basic token soon as the whole industry shoots up in value.

Anywho, the scalability conundrum proves to be a more vital topic to discuss rather than what sat’s role will be in the future, which already predetermined anyway in the first place.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you sell your bitcoin to blackrock? on: December 02, 2023, 10:32:42 PM
Everything for a price. At this point I stopped picking sides and which is which already. I might as well just do whatever I can in my power to make sure that the industry I am in is alive and kicking, and that of course, I’m making money in the process. Sometimes that involves inviting the “enemy” into your house and letting them kick. Their feet up comfortably.

I think people shouldn’t be so detested by the idea of a new player from the outside market involving themselves in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. That’s part of our growth and development as a technology and economy and so we must embrace it wholly, and take the good with the bad sometimes.
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at its ATH of 2023 so far on: December 02, 2023, 10:17:49 PM
Not this year we wouldn’t. Unless some angel sent from heaven up high grants our wish and immediately invests billions upon billions of dollars in bitcoin, which certainly wouldn’t happen now despite the desirable crypto climate.

There’s a good chance that the next bull run to be brought about by the upcoming halving could help us reach newer heights and endeavours, but you can’t expect bitcoin to just shoot up in value 3000% in the blink of an eye. There’s a lot of things at play here and the people’s opinions about bitcoin is just one of them.

Perhaps hold your excitements first, and be prepared for greater things to come by making sure you have a stake at bitcoin this early.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 01, 2023, 11:47:07 PM
I don't particularly employ such strat as this keeps the fun out of gambling (I bet a lot of money in one go, it gives me a greater rush of excitement and nervousness compared to betting in small amounts), but I actually employ strategies that minimize the amount of money that I lose. And I keep saying this but I saw this in this forum as well, wherein they stop betting and gambling after 3 losses, and 3 wins. Either way, you're making sure that your wins are secured and they are not getting anywhere, meaning you have more money to keep for your self at the end of the day, or if in any case you're in a losing streak this day, your losses are minimized as much as possible. You might wanna look into trying this strat as well, it doesn't hurt anyway.
640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 01, 2023, 11:08:07 PM
Nope. For me, the only way you'd make consistent money in this industry is if you took the role of the house and set your own casino for that matter, or if you choose to go pro and become really good at one particular game. Either way, you'd never be making money out of this industry as consistently that you could replace a regular full-time employment with gambling, and frankly speaking, it's even stupid that you'd think you could do it. It's good and all to aspire and dream of having a comfortable way to create profit, but you gotta be grounded sometimes as well. You know that a major percentage of people in the gambling industry couldn't even turn a profit if their life depended on it, and here we are talking about the possibility of making bank with gambling.
