621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin wallet.dat, transaction fees and exchange on: December 07, 2021, 03:34:54 PM
Cryptocurrency newbie here.

Received a wallet.dat from my uncle with BTC1.00 in it according to Bitcoin Core.

Thank you.

Did your uncle gift you 1 bitcoin? Thats a big amount of money to be gifted.
Why did he give you the wallet.dat file? He could have given you the private key and you would have been in control of the bitcoins.

Why trading Bitcoin for Ethereum? From the recent price crash, the prices for Ethereum, at least to me, did not drop as much. At the time of this thread, Bitcoin drops about 28% (from 68k to 49k) whereas Ethereum drops about 13% (4800 to 4200).

Thank you.

Ethereum is an altcoin along with many other alts If you need to cash out, you can convert in fiat money and do not need to enter in the tradig world. If you want to trade, I will suggest you learn trading first before investing any money in altcoins.

By the way, if you don't need that much cash all at once now, why do you need to convert your bitcoin in fiat?
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won $550,000 gambling on sports this month on: December 07, 2021, 03:16:26 PM
We always see people post about losses, but I won $550,000 this month betting on sports (soccer mostly), and it has truly changed my life! I mostly bet on total goals and match winner! Would love to know if anybody else has experienced this level of success!  Smiley

Nice to see you posting about a win in gambling. I usually see people complaining about their losses and does not express their feelings about winnings.
Since you have won 550,000$ which is a lie changing money, what are your future plans? Will you continue to spend these funds in gambling or start your offline business or something?
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiner's with Zero investment. on: December 07, 2021, 03:01:13 PM
Some bitcoiner's haven't invested a single $ in bitcoin till now, there are many early adopters who haven't invested a single dollar in cryptocurrencies.
maybe many of you who entered during 2017 bull run will not believe it, but it's true many are still here who never invested anything in cryptocurrencies.
If you are the one its beautiful to share your story as this may become an interesting talk...

You cannot call any person a "bitcoiner" if he does not invest any amount in bitcoin. There are basically two types of people, one who does not know about bitcoin and hence they did not invest in it. Second, those who are aware of the bitcoins but never believe in them and hence they do not invest.
I started investing in bitcoin as soon as I knew about it. I consider myself lucky for this reason. Smiley
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin a donation to everyone on: December 07, 2021, 02:52:22 PM
I read on lost Bitcoin today on the coin telegram on the topic of lost Bitcoin and I stopped to wonder what benefits the lost Bitcoin are to every holder, there is no gainsaying how much Bitcoin we have all lost due to one reason or the other some to a wrong address I hard of a guy that lost the private key to a wallet holding about 13,000 Bitcoin and wants to ask should we take such accidents as a donation to Bitcoin holders?

First, you should know that bitcoin has a fixed supply and there is no way this supply can be increased. Now if we take the lost bitcoin out of the total supply, this will make bitcoin supply less practically. That lost bitcoins are of no use because no one can spend them or use them.
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Football Fan tokens and gambling on: December 06, 2021, 05:44:47 PM
Of course, it's nice when tokens can be used not only as a collector but also for other purposes, but for me, the content plays a huge role.
Yes, I also want the token to be as beautiful and unusual as possible. I really haven't seen something worthwhile for a long time that could excite my mind!
Do you want something to stir your mind? There is one exciting project. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5370296.0 This is incredible! I think you will like it very much!

I saw this link mentioned by you and did not find anything special about the project.

Coming to the football fan tokens, I would be very much careful in investing in them especially at the time of their launch. There are high chances that these tokens will launch at a higher price and move to fair prices after a few days/weeks.
I think fan tokens trend will fade away soon and may not be long lasting one.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or hardware wallet ? on: December 06, 2021, 05:18:08 PM
I think hardware Wallet is the best choice ever. There are so many reasons behind this. You don't need KYC . You are free to send or receive. No one can control your asset portfolio. So this is the best to use hardware wallet.

Yes, the hardware wallets are the best to save your crypto provided you have a good amount of money in crypto. Hardware wallets may not be recommended to newbies who have very little funds. They can start with desktop wallets before shifting to hardware wallets.
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 05, 2021, 01:15:25 PM

That's not the point, this is about the new variant which is creating havoc in South Africa. The only thing we know it is very easily transferrable than the previous variant. We also do not know how effective are vaccines with this variant. If these things are considered then I also feel this series might get cancelled.

My friend when ipl was taking place in India almost 50k people were dying each day still nobody was bothered about that and you are supporting that point. It was postponed when voices from inside India rose up. That variant was also very deadly but everyone cares about money more then covid.

I think the health of the players and public is more important than the cricket tournaments. Since the new virus variant is originated from South Africa, it perfectly fine for the Indian team not to visit the infected country. Indian cricket board and other authorities should make the decision in the best interest of the players.

631  Economy / Economics / Re: Preparing for the future. on: November 08, 2021, 07:31:45 PM
Most of the listed courses above are professions not just a skill and people earn up to doctorate degree in pursuit of those courses. But it can still be acquired outside the four walls of a learning environment which could be online majorly from most free academies that offer this courses free. The cycle of life is gradually changing and approach to problems is taking a new format, so acquiring a digital skills can actually come in handy

There are many people who are not in the student life anymore and they don't have interest and time in learning the blockchain and all these concepts. For them the best thing is to invest in the crypto currencies and hold them for good returns. Of course this can only be done by those have money to invest.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all the money in the world entered the cryptocurrency market? on: November 08, 2021, 07:21:55 PM
This is very likely to happen in the future, if the bitcoin price goes up to these fancy numbers then most of the altcoins will surely follow suit as always, yes i have thought about this before and decided to buy small amounts of several well rank altcoins in the market It can rise to fantastic numbers one day and I will leave it to the distant future and be like a fortune that I pass on to my children when they grow up.
I don't think this is possible, first, cryptocurrency is just an alternative to fiat and no government would sacrifice their own currency just to invest in crypto. For me, it's not gonna happen, not even 50% of the world's population will use cryptocurrency in the future.

One day this will happen when the fiat money will be completely replaced by the digital currency. The way crypto is being adopted , i think we are not far away to see this time.

Although banks and governments oppose this change but eventually this change will happen.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 08, 2021, 04:38:08 PM
I'm less interested in the match since there is no calculation following it. Namibia is facing India in a Twenty20 International for the very first time tonight. Could this lead to a famous upset? No chance. The Indian team is extremely strong. Namibia is an extremely weak opponent, and I expect India to win easily.

Although there is no importance for this match in this current context of the world cup but you should not miss the match because this is Virat Kholi last International T20 match. Keep aside the recent performance of India, he is one of the legend not in the Indian cricket but overall he is being loved and followed. India will miss him.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Issue of fixed Matches on: November 08, 2021, 10:01:30 AM
<...>
Looking upon the sporting industry from the outside it looks like very legit, but more and more forms of corruption is paving path. It is shocking to read a news mentioning about the increase of suspicions to 1100 since the pandemic start. Particularly the football sporting is at high risk on corruption. 655 cases recorded in the last nine months. So we can't say match fixing is not there anymore.

Source : Match-fixing suspicions raised in 1,100 cases since pandemic’s start

really interesting, thanks for linking this article!
now, I'm curious on how they detected it?
some whistleblower? game analysis somehow? other methods?

must be not so easy to check if a match was fixed or not.

This is one of the challenges in match-fixing on how you could prove that such event did happen. One might argue that the opposing team might have a 'bad day' as to their performance but a proper investigation and comparison of their old games can be used to determine if they are intentionally throwing the match or not.

Like what I previously posted and shared, there was a match involving two (2) basketball teams where the other team was intentionally throwing the game (e.g. giving fouls, shooting airballs, turnovers, etc.) and it was investigated and proved that they intentionally did it. Another thing, most match-fixing happens on a small and niche community where the teams are comfortable enough to do it due to the relaxed security and supervision.

Such investigations usually take long time as they need to carefully gather possible evidences, witnesses and other factors that may have contributed the fixed-match situation. They need to verify the validity of the information as well. So these cases are not easy to resolve because they need to be really sure that match-fixing did happen. Because it will ruin the career of the athletes involved and also those organizations or personnel that took part with the situation.

Another reason for the delay in such investigations is that money is being used to change the descsion or hide the victims who have been involved in match fixing.
If found guilty, it can ruin the career of the player and at the same time it is an embarsement for the country, so they try their best to keep and resolve the matter under the table.
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 08, 2021, 09:43:49 AM
Well the whole indian population of 1.3 billion would be watching the todays match between newzealand and afganistan and would be praying for an afganistan win. Yes newzealand are favorites to win this match but afganistan has the capability to win this match as well, and if that happens it would be something like a miracle that india qualifies after those two losses.

India lost to the two test teams (Pakistan and Afghanistan) and were hoping that their victories against minnows like Scotland, Namibia and Afghanistan would be enough to secure a playoff spot. Unfortunately that didn't worked out for them. The strongest two teams from the group are now progressing to the playoffs. Indians can take care of Black Lives Matter, no-cracker movement for Diwali and other useless things after they return home. Anyway they seemed more interested in activism than playing.

India lost to NewZealand and not Afghanistan.
It's just a bad luck that the Indian batsmen were not in the form in the start of the tornament and when they gained the form it was already too late. You don't get many chances in tornament like these. Each and every match is important and it's always difficult to come back in the tornament if you lose two early matches with the strong teams.
636  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which is the best platform to get clients as a web designer? on: November 08, 2021, 09:13:46 AM
The cost of purchasing a course related to IT proffession is quite on a high side in our world today, still lots of competition out there, a lot of people searching for clients using different advertising methods making it harder to find clients.

The competition will always be high in terms of efficiency and price. You won't get an easy work or job on the online freelancing platforms.
For sure, those who have learnt and have knowledge & experience will have more chances of finding a client as compare to the one who have recently entered in this competitive market. However you can try your luck on different Facebook relevant groups and try to find clients manually.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best thing you bought with Bitcoin? on: November 08, 2021, 08:48:42 AM
What was the best/most interesting thing you bought with Bitcoin, when, where you bought it and how many Bitcoins it did cost? Grin

I almost bought a desert eagle on some darkmarket for like 8 Bitcoins (around 6500 CZK by that time) but I decided not to buy it, because it maybe was scam and if not, then my mom would kill me with it, if she knew that I was big gun fan back then... Cheesy Cheesy

Isn't it good that you don't buy anything with Bitcoin and keep them save Smiley
I prefer to use my fiat money for any type of purchases and keep my bitcoin save.  I don't want to spend my bitcoins now and later regret when it's worth would be much higher than the current prices.
638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 07, 2021, 02:23:28 PM
Well afganistan lost the match but it breaked heart of millions of Indians fans. It is surely one of the worst world cup for India. Being such a cricket rich country, Home of the Biggest t20 league in the world and the team has not even qualified in the semi finals. Big disappointment for India and we will see how things happen now as we will see new captain and a new coach and i hope it will bring positive changes in the side.
Loose two matches and you are out of the tournament, now i consider Pakistan as the favorites to win the tournament if they continue to perform the way they did. England lost to South Africa and New Zealand already lost and Pakistan is the only undefeated team in the tournament and the only competitive matches they have is in the semi final and in the final and England and New Zealand is also having realistic chance to win the tournament.

When it comes to the knock out matches like semi finals or finals, its anyone game. A team which remain undefeated in the tournament, may not always win the tournament. Pakistan will have to play against any two of the teams England, Australia or NewZealand and its hard to predict who will be the winner. Past performance does not give a guaranteed win unless you performance the same on the big match day.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The reason why Crash Games usually crash at lower values on: November 07, 2021, 12:27:06 PM
If I take multiplier=1.05, should I have P(X<=1.05) = 1/33 + 32/33*(0.01 + 0.99*(1-1/1.05)) = 8.57%, which is pretty low, it doesn't mean if I bet on 1.05x each time, only 8.57% of chance it crashes with multiplier less than 1.05? I am quite confused. If I win 1.05x, deduct the bet=1 I made, I still have 0.05 win, isn't it?

So 857 times out of 10 000 times it will crash below 1.05 (on average). So lets say that you are going to play 10 000 games putting 1$ in each game cashing out at 1.05. In this situation you will win 9143 times winning 9143*0.05 = 457.15$ and lose 857 times losing 857 * 1$ = 857$ ending up with 399.85$ net loss.

I'll check rest of your calculation in free time

It won't be reasonable to take profit at 1.05 on 10,000 games. Lets suppose if some one take profit at 2x on every crash game, will be be profitable even with you losing more games and wining few ?  Or you can try with taking profit at 30x in the 100 games with 1 dollar in each game. I tried to calculate with different values but could not find a fool proof winning formula.

Does anyone have a recent interest payment showing, just wondering if its only me.    Last one that shows for me is :
RECENT INTEREST PAYMENTS
2021-11-03

After that it doesnt give a read out, I approximated it has added the amounts for each day but normally it would update the text log and say so.   Only thing that changed recently was I was due slightly more interest from going up a bit on premium bonus.   Slight bug perhaps or Im just being fussy,  guess I'll add it up manually to see it is adding the interest to check and compare.

What is your total balance in freebitco ? It may be possible that you have withdrawn the funds or low on balance and therefore you do not get the interest now.
In order to gain the interest, you need to have a minimum balance of 0.0003 BTC. Anything less than that will not give you daily interest.
