621  Other / Meta / Re: (Any Guesses?) Are there many real (unpaid) people still posting here at BCT? on: December 09, 2023, 09:26:49 AM
...do you think there many real (unpaid) people still posting here at BCT? Have a great day.
Oh, now I get where I saw the BCT tag I struggled to mention in my other post yesterday.

OP, your question on if there are users who post without getting paid – Yes, there are users like that. JJG strikes me as the top on that list and that user doesn't just write, they write a wall of text. I don't know where they get their energy from. Franky is another user, yes? Anyway, I think those who do that are able to do that because they're early adopters and are loaded with Bitcoin. It costs data to be online and if one isn't earning from their activities online, how will one be able to fund the data? This is one of the major reasons users appear to post less when they aren't in campaigns. That's my observation.
622  Other / Meta / Re: BCT vs BTT abbreviation for this forum on: December 08, 2023, 04:31:46 PM
Earlier this week I saw a member address this forum as BCT (I'm not sure it was this OP), it looked funny to me but I moved on. I'm used to referring to this place as BTT and I think rightly so. BCT doesn't sound representative enough IMHO. Let's dissect it a bit more. BTT could stand in as BiTcoinTalk but what can BCT stand in as BitCoinTalk? Well, I think we've to remember that Bitcoin itself has always taken a "T" immediately after a "B" as in BTC. So, I think it will be really awkward to address a forum named after it as BCT, rather than maintain that sequence it's known for. If anything at all, BTCT – BitcoinTalk better suits than BCT but that will be long and boring to pronounce. Who cares, then? I'm stuck with BTT.
623  Other / Meta / Re: Letter to Theymos: Provide medium for the forum in the face of the mixer ban on: December 08, 2023, 08:16:29 AM
~snipped~
In my opinion, this Loycev is very arrogant. Sounds very arrogant. No self-respecting person who accidentally ends up in a proxyban deserves to be treated like that
I guess you're trying to live out the meaning of your moniker, "shenanigan". Otherwise, I don't see what could occasion all those wild accusations you're throwing up on this thread. Someone should kindly check up the meaning of shenanigan before they get unnecessarily serious with your POV.

On the mixer ban, I'm cocksure there's going to be a ripple effect that will empower other competitors that can wrestle traffic from this forum. Already, I've read about a manager who has concluded plans to move a mixing service they're managing here to a sister forum. In time to come, more managers are going to find fertile grounds to move theirs too; not just only mixers but other advertising promotions. I don't know if theymos' decision to ban mixers here outright will be a good one at the end. This is an experiment we all hope will end well. It's a make or mar moment.

Truly, hugeblack; your love for this green family holds water. You've kept watch and faith with us weekly despite moving to another affiliation. Thanks for your affection.

Happy celebration to all my colleagues. Let's make this a December to Remember!
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoins with Masonry Earnings. on: December 05, 2023, 07:12:28 PM
I earn around 600 to 700 taka daily in our local currency doing this mason work which is enough for me.
There's no way many of us will know the equivalent of what value you're talking about except you represent it in dollar value.

Quote
I was told by my family to deposit some of my earned money in the bank but I did not agree.I ignored them and decided to invest some of my earned money in bitcoin instead of keeping it in the bank and hold the bitcoin.
You took a wise decision there. I did same a few weeks ago and I'm over 20% in ROI already. Anyone leaving their cash in the bank at this moment and they're into cryptos or Bitcoin specifically, they aren't doing themselves any good at all. Those who did a few weeks/months ago are already in huge profit. Now is a very convenient time to invest in Bitcoin because it's less risky ATM.

Quote
I started investing in bitcoins with a dollar amount that I earned from a day's work as a mason.Maybe my invested bitcoin amount is not much but I want to start with very small amount at first since my income is very low.
Don't feel bad about it. Everyone will invest according to their risk appetite and what they can afford to lose.
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: December 05, 2023, 04:42:13 PM
Sleeping giant, indeed? The giant in that comment goes with a question mark because Litecoin has remained embarrassingly on the floor while those other coins on the top list with it have continued to do well. It's even more embarrassing that it slumped after its own halving a few months ago, precisely on 2nd August, 2023 from around $90 to $72 as I type this. I don't want to worry my head over where its price is headed ATM with the few unit I bought but I'm hopeful it might do a triple of its current price once the Bitcoin rally begins proper. This industry is full of unpredictability.
627  Economy / Speculation / Re: The volatility volumes of Bitcoin is not the Will of man on: December 05, 2023, 03:40:22 PM
OP sounded like a typical African pastor with "the will of man" thing. It's their stock in trade to throw in that jingle whenever they want to hoodwink their gullible congregation. But of course, whatever happens with Bitcoin and its pricing is subject to the dynamics of the market, not a mere wish, desire or will. It's a battle of demand and supply. If we've to evaluate today's market volatility of Bitcoin vis-a-vis what it used to be before 2018, everyone would agree that there's less volatility now. It's boring this day not to have that volatility with which Bitcoin was known for.
628  Economy / Speculation / Re: So I guess we sell at $48626 ? on: December 05, 2023, 02:29:33 PM
One thing with Fibs is that there's no set rule where to draw it from. You drew from the Weekly and got the value you're pointing us to. Another person draws from the Monthly or 4HR and the values for 0.618 Fib level (which is taken as the retracement point) won't be the same. You go down lower timeframes and they differ more. Come to think of it, once price gets to the $48k range there will be likely be less people who want to rush out. From what I perceive, investors will be hodling on to their coins and looking at the current ATH which is somewhere at $69k+. I think it's at the current ATH we're likely to find a momentary sell off as that's now a psychological level.
629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Established Altcoins or new potential coins this bullrun ? on: December 05, 2023, 12:25:34 PM
I would prefer new Altcoins which is entering bullrun for the first time.
Well, don't invest in altcoins blindly because you want to seek those coming to the market for the first time. Make sure there's a usecase they've; at least one use case, and not some fancy crypto gimmick waved around them. Sometimes, it's really dicey dishing out what token/coin one is buying or hodling because one doesn't know the state of minds of those assimilating what one says here. This is so no one turns around tomorrow to blame others for the supposed advice if it goes sour. For me, I'm hodling some launchpad tokens and waiting patiently for the rally to kick in proper or IDOs to set up. It's a win-win.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest the money to buy the land in Bitcoin. on: December 05, 2023, 09:56:57 AM
Since I have like 11 thousand dollars right now, I want to invest this amount in Bitcoin instead of keeping it in the bank. I know about investing in bitcoins and I know that there are risks involved, I am investing in the potential to grow money but I want to invest in bitcoins with the understanding that my money may go down due to market volatility.
The risk of investing in Bitcoin at this moment is minimal because of halving expectations and reduction in block reward. I can boldly advise anyone to take that risk with Bitcoin now than I would've done last year. Even if it dips after you invest, don't be scared. It's an upward movement from here. Though we will get some retracements on the way, don't panic. I took same decision and I'm already 20% in profit. I don't intend to sell off until after halving and beyond it.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin investment is the key to success" on: December 05, 2023, 09:23:17 AM
However, the current bullishness of Bitcoin that I see in the market seems to indicate that Bitcoin will rise even more very soon.  If I had held on to my bitcoins I might have made more profit when the bull market started. But I have no way to do this because I don't have money, but I will try to raise money and invest again in bitcoins to hold on. However, I have benefited from selling my bitcoins currently and using them for my needs, but I feel like I missed out on a huge profit.
At whatever price level anyone sells off is their convenient level, whether in profit or in loss. As we chat now, there are many people who are selling off with the little spike Bitcoin has witnessed in the past few days. They think it will dip again and they want to play smart by taking profit now. I wouldn't say they're stupid selling because those of us here know that Bitcoin is trying to rally up. So, why sell this quick? Many would ask. Buying and selling is what keeps the value of Bitcoin or any other up. If no one sells, nothing happens. We all can't hodl forever. To say the truth, hodling doesn't bestow any value on Bitcoin until we set our prices to sell. It's the actions of those trading it that determine the value we see on our hedl Bitcoin.

OP, you shouldn't be regretting your action of selling; provided you achieved a purpose with it when you sold. You can find a convenient level to still get in back. The market is just commencing its rally. 2024 will be a bullish moment in this industry. That's the expectation from past historical data.
632  Other / Meta / Re: Sanctioned Services and the service traceability to this forum, Any danger? on: December 05, 2023, 07:17:54 AM
Now, the escrow bitcoin address which held the fund used to pay Sinbad signature ad campaign participants has also been blacklisted by Binance, and they are also investigating the transactions carried out through this same address.
Definitely, that awareness will cause a great scare in the camp of ex-Sinbad promoters (both here and elsewhere). Anyway, let's not even debate if the authority will get all the recipient addresses or not, let's try to look at the time this is happening and the way the market isn't even bothered by such FUD. I'm sure if this happenstance had taken place during the bear season it would've plunged Bitcoin further.

Quote
Now, my concern is, wouldnt it make sense to remove the Sinbad escrow address from this forum? And also remove anything that could make it easy for authorities to trace transactions from that address to this forum, and it's users?
Your concern is valid but you should also know that the deal had been done and information on the net aren't snipped that way. I'm sure screenshots and grabs had already been taken before the seizure was made public. There's nothing that can be done to erase that.

Quote
Is this forum not going to be in danger if authorities trace transactions with services they have sanctioned down to this forum?
We don't know yet and I believe that's why theymos had to spontaneously step in to make that announcement banning mixer services here. I think authorities may want to check what steps were taken once the seizure was made, assuming the forum was ignorant of whatever ill Sinbad was accused of. They may want to judge from going forward and not backward.
633  Other / Meta / Re: A friendly appeal on: December 04, 2023, 10:51:15 PM
Many forum members would want to make discussions of different sorts based on the topic but I believe it would spam the meta board. So I suggest that all discussions concerning the mixer announcement be made under theymos's post.
It's hilarious that you've added to the whole mixer brouhaha too 😂 with this thread of yours. Anyway, don't worry yourself stiff. All these will soon wane out. You didn't see how so many endless threads sprang up once the merit announcement was made by theymos in 2018? It's the same pattern I see here. I don't see anything wrong in it. We can't gag members or coax them into silence or sitting on the fence. Be sure to see discussions on this issue linger till after the deadline this December.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which good altcoins can I hold along with Bitcoin for the upcoming halving? on: December 04, 2023, 08:18:55 PM
So I've some Lil funds with me but I'm thinking of which good altcoins I can hold for the upcoming  halving, that's going to also skyrocket too. I was thinking about ETH, BNB and SOL. But still, I  need recommendations from you guys about the best altcoins to hold for the halving please.
I've to disabuse your mind that Bitcoin halving doesn't directly uplift altcoin prices. If anything, altcoins begin to rise after Bitcoin has soared to its ATH and investors start taking out their profit to invest in altcoins. That's for those who like to remain within the crypto circle. There are others who take theirs to Forex trading and stocks. Nonetheless, we can't be certain it will always happen or follow that trajectory like we saw altcoins didn't pump in 2021/22.

Anyway, besides those three you've mentioned, I'm suggesting that you get some CTSI, Matic and Tron in addition.
635  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is forum reputation enough to influence mixers? on: December 04, 2023, 07:37:48 PM
...do you think that the reputation of the forum and the rejection of these mixers from the forum will be enough to force them to change the way they mix their coins?
Even if mixers find a different modus operandi, I think they will still be found out. Those hunting down mixers also have criminally minded individuals among them that can decode any disguise. You know that thing they say in our local parlance that which makes the skunk stink is in its blood, not outward.

Talking about forum reputation, I think mixing firms are more likely to take their businesses out of here to other fora which will entertain them. It's not as if they're going to shutdown.
636  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers Signatures : A challenge or Respect on: December 04, 2023, 06:35:30 PM
No banning of discussing Bitcoin services.

We can discuss gay porn, and porn in general, but we can't discuss a Bitcoin service?
Come to think of it, you're right. It's just sad we don't know what the outcome of theymos' directive will be going forward or if he was pressured into taking such a decision. This is Bitcointalk, a forum that prides itself on discussing issues related to bitcoin and its decentralized and anonymous nature. Mixers tend to capture that nature.

I will also do some more donations to the links above.
Frankly, I feel touched by your level of philanthropy and wish the ban on mixers here didn't happen. No doubt, I know you will get another campaign as a quality poster that you're but it seems mixer campaigns are the highest paying ones and can easily allow you cover more donations. It takes a person of great mind to give to others. Ride on!
637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: X.com (Twitter) is approving phishing website ads, beware on: December 04, 2023, 05:59:38 PM
That's the problem with every social media platform. The problem with X com is much bigger as the bluetick in front of the username can fool a lot of new users. If I am correct anyone can pay a small amount monthly on X.com and can get bluetick.
This is why no one should trust any site on face value without verifying it. However, people think it's tiring doing their own research before investing in any project and they want to easily leave their fate in the hands of influencers or those they think are "verified" to be honest because of a cheap blue tick. Yes, I concur that research is huge work but then everyone should be interested where their money/investment is. No amount of time put into doing one's research should be exhausting.
638  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea and money are very important to investment. on: December 04, 2023, 02:12:34 PM
... until I met one young wealthy man in the flight yesterday and he saw me checking some coins price in my cryptocurrency wallet...
Those of you who do this should find a way of resisting that urge in public. It's not to your advantage. It's just an ego thing people do to show they're woke and have the air of knowing something different most people don't know. That singular act of checking one's portfolio in public glare jeopardizes one's safety because you don't know who's looking. We've so many criminals lurking around and the country isn't as safe as it used to be any more. For your safety, resist that temptation. People think anyone who's into cryptos is hodling Bitcoin and are rich whereas many of us don't even have ¼ BTC in all we've. Some don't even have BTC at all.
639  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that visionary leaders make great CEOs? on: December 04, 2023, 11:26:46 AM
For example, a visionary leader Steve Jobs though he was praise for all the great stuff he did for Apple there where complaints of his intense and demanding nature. This negatively impacted the morale of his employees and lead to high turnover rates. Obviously employees would naturally seek out more collaborative and supportive work environments.
Of course, naturally people don't like to put in the works but they want to earn. Most people won't mind asking to be paid even when they nap all through in the office or put in less work. To such people, Steve Jobs would be a pain in the ass. Again, Mr Jobs was able to attain should an enviable height by dint of brain work and sleepless nights. It's indeed very sad he didn't live long to reap all he laboured for.

Quote
My point is visionary leaders do not make great CEO.
Being a visionary doesn't mean one will be great at business. There's a difference between leadership and business. It's the same way we've great leaders who fail at home as fathers.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zugacoin vs bitcoin. on: December 04, 2023, 07:45:50 AM
~snipped~
Real sad that people will desecrate their religion just to deceive the people in same Faith, to buy into a scam project.
Talking about deceiving people of the same faith with one just to amass wealth, does the Bible not say something about wolves in sheep's clothing? Those who get deceived by priests want it so because they are promised heaven on earth by their wolfish priests. I don't have any sympathy to waste on people like that. They deserve being scammed. As Christians we shouldn't knock our brains out of skulls because we're in church. We should question things in church the same way we do secular stuff. But then, didn't Karl Marx like you rightly quoted, say it that people tend to be stupidly intoxicated where religion is? Let another priest come up with another Ponzi tagged crypto project and it will shock you how the same set of those scammed by Sam Zuga will queue up to invest in it.
