6301  Other / Meta / Re: Ledger database leak --> Phishing on: December 21, 2020, 09:38:13 PM
I could see the data and I'm happy that my personal details are not in the documents leaked. Maybe because I bought the Ledger a few years back? My email is there but I already knew that. Also, I don't hold a lot of bitcoin but I would feel uneasy if I knew my full name and address had been leaked.
6302  Other / Meta / Re: WTF? Why was this deleted? on: December 21, 2020, 07:27:43 AM
It's the typical reason that the reporter and/or the moderator thinks that the reply simply doesn't add much to the conversation. You might disagree and think otherwise, but that's that.

It's just one post, and various user's posts get deleted a lot. Don't take it too hard.

Yes, I was thinking that.

I've seen Hero/Legendary members saying that they got a post deleted at some point, even though they are good forum members, so, no, I don't take it hard or personally.

So, my turn has arrived.

Here is this thread:

Happy "I AM HODLING" day Smiley 7 Years ago the HODLING became the new religion.

I've just received this message:

A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.

Very nice post (the I AM HODLING one). I'm not sure if he was actually drunk or if he was trolling. Some people write like that or try to appear drunk when they write. That and his girlfriend supposedly at a lesbian bar make me wonder.

Apart from that, the price of Bitcoin was around $750 so he was completely right. I hope he has kept some of his bitcoin.

The same way, you can report (and delete) 90% of my posts.

Evening boys, it appears the bull has woke up again & ready to rock & roll once more. I wonder what Christmas week will bring us?

$24,000 breached Smiley
$25,000 doesn’t look too far away!

I love it when I get up in the morning these days. The first thing I do is see the price of the bitcoin and then... I feel kinda high.
6305  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies account upgrade on: December 20, 2020, 08:23:25 PM
Your first few post was bounty related. And in this month you have made 34 posts till now. Among those you have made 18 posts at same topic. No matter what you post in tokens(altcoins), most of your post won't be appreciated by other forum members. But if you have changed your mind recently then it's great. Good wishes for you Smiley

Yes OP, the point is that if people see that you are here only to make money through bounties or signature campaigns they will be reluctant to give you merits. Especially bounties have a bad reputation here. Too many people posting crap to make a few bucks.

It seems you have gooten 3 merits in a row. You now only need to use the forum to exchange knowledge. If you don't know about something, ask. When you know more, help others. Merits will come.
6306  Economy / Speculation / Re: We should stop using the term "All Time High" on: December 20, 2020, 05:46:05 AM
That's precisely what ATH means. "All time" means up to and including the present. It says nothing about the future.

Yes, that's the point. The future doesn't exist, yet.

I know what OP means but it's just a philosophical question. ATH is the term people use and I don't think they are going to change no matter if the other is more correct or not.

6307  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEW ATH 24K$$ TODAY on: December 20, 2020, 05:42:01 AM
For me, it's not important what will happen until the year end, in ten days time. What's important is what will happen during 2021. If it will be a similar year to 2017 or not. I hope it is.

The fact that bitcoin breaks the $25k or not in ten days is not that meningful to me.
6308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sharing Casino 100% Winning Strategy With Profit 10% Per Hour [Limited Time] on: December 20, 2020, 05:35:08 AM
I left him negative trust but I think I'm the only one. It could be useful is someone in DT could leave negative trust as well. This son of a bitch is targeting people from poor countries for his scam which is even worse in my opinion.
6309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to invest best $2,000-$5,000? on: December 20, 2020, 04:34:33 AM
Well, you don't specifically mention it but I would do that if you already have something else saved/invested. I mean cash for emergencies and maybe some money in mutual or index funds. I wouldn't buy bitcoin if that was the only extra money I had.

I don't agree with dolar cost averaging as others have said. That strategy only helps you to deal with the psychological of investing. However, if you truly believe that bitcoin price will keep going up in the long term, as most of us do, the sooner you put all in your available money to invest, the better.
6310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A question about transactions on: December 19, 2020, 06:48:45 PM
Thaks for your replies, especially to @ranochigo for the late comments.

As you may have noticed, I have run out of merits to send, otherwise I would have given some more.

The transaction still appears unconfirmed on my ledger live but it has close to 100 confirmations.

Is it just because ledger is fucking shit? I'm quite pissed off with them.

6311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A question about transactions on: December 19, 2020, 06:18:44 AM
Ok so I checked my history and the accelerator used was:

https://btcnitro.com/

Actually my ledger nano says it's not confirmed yet but it has 16 confirmations (0 before using the accelerator).

It was included in: 00000000000000000000b759570202ce47834fe7fded1854f93e1d32b9be15f9
6312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A question about transactions on: December 19, 2020, 05:49:09 AM
Which accelerator did you use? and aside from the fact that your transaction finally got confirmed, what proof do you have that the accelerator actually did anything at all? Huh

As far as I'm aware, the only free one that actually works with any level of consistency is ViaBTC, but that's hard to get one of the 100 free slots...

I was thinking that precisely. I tried the ViaBTC one but it said it could't accelerate or there was some kind of error, so I just googled "transaction accelerator free" or something similar and I tried one of the first ones. So, when I saw the confirmation I wondered if it was just a coincidence.

I see it is 47.3 sat/vB, low priority according to mempool current stats, so maybe the accelerator actually did something?
6313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A question about transactions on: December 19, 2020, 05:14:30 AM
Well, after creating this thread and receiving the answers I locked it. I think it was a mistake, because before that I locked threads in other sections so that they did not become spam megathreads but thinking about it, that will not happen in this section, which is a serious one.

The thing is that yesterday, after waiting, seeing that the mempool was still full, and fearing that I would be refunded the amount of the transaction, I decided to use a transaction accelerator. I know that they have free and pay versions. I used the free version and next time I looked, after 2 or 3 hours, the transaction had been confirmed.

This raises a question for me. Why do the transaction accelerators work in the free version? I understand that if you pay more to speed up a transaction then it will be prioritized and confirmed, but I don't quite understand why simply putting my transaction ID and clicking without paying anything speeds up the transaction.

Can someone explain this to me?

6314  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 18, 2020, 04:59:24 AM
Bitcoin posts a new All Time High daily candle today at $23,777.00...smashing the previous record of $19,666.00 exactly 3 years later to the day. Is this it? Is this the end of the bullrun? I am not convinced. I somehow feel like it really is different this time. The open interest not only by institutional investors but the general public as well, the continuing media coverage and perhaps most importantly the massive fiat stimulus programs being put in place globally. Will there be dips..of course there will. My advice is to buy them.

I think the situation we are in is more similar to 4 years ago, not 3. We still have a whole moon year in front of us.
6315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Darknet's Child Porn and Bitcoin on: December 17, 2020, 05:22:55 PM
Yeah, well, cash is vastly used in criminal activities and you never hear on the news that cash is evil or has to be banned or that cash and drugs go together, do you?

News like that doesn't affect those of us who know about bitcoin. At best they can help those who think it's a dark thing to assert their belief, but the masses will look more to extraordinary price increases than to news like this.
6316  Economy / Services / Re: [Open] ▄■▀■▄ 🌟Bitvest.io🌟 - Plinko Sign Camp (Member-Hero Accepted)(New2) on: December 17, 2020, 10:42:08 AM
I guess your pause is caused by Bitcoins price growth. Just imagine how huge mempool is right now and how many transactions are made now in the blockchains. Other reason - the price again. Imagine that now they need to pay hunters an equivalent of $5,000 (just an example), while 2 week ago reward debt was an equivalent of $3,500. Even though gambler use cryptocurrency for betting, high bitcoin price made people do smaller bets. Previously they can easily make a 1000sat bet, but now they bet 300sat. Think how much more income must Bitcasino make to be able to pay past rewards.

Well, I know that because I sent a transaction yesterday and it hasn't even one confirmation yet but what you say wouldn't have affected if payments had been sent in 24 hours as Lightlord said.
6317  Economy / Speculation / Re: Congrats to everyone for reaching $20k again. on: December 17, 2020, 05:20:59 AM
we past 22000 on bitstamp.

Yes, there seems to be a mini resistance there. After hitting 22k it went down and now it's hit that mark again. Once we have past the old ATH I'm not in a hurry to see to price go up because if it goes too fast we will probably have a deeper retreat.
6318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 17, 2020, 05:18:23 AM
$ 22K @ Bitstamp again.

I think we are getting to $25 or so quite easily. I just hope we don't go up too fast because the fall could be very fast as well when panic kicks in.
6319  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 17, 2020, 05:07:17 AM
The truth is that it is good to live these moments after years of waiting.

Let's just remember that the next time the bitcoin drops (let's say from $100k to $30k) and we spend a few years in a bear market around $30k-$50k, that it's worth just holding and waiting.
6320  Economy / Economics / Re: JPMorgan - bitcoin may find an additional demand of $600B on: December 17, 2020, 05:03:17 AM
It all started with Square Inc. acquisition of bitcoins, and in just a span of a few months we have huge companies looking for their options how to best penetrate the market.

I saw Square's CEO talking about that in a video. He was saying that FOMO was going to be created among institutions inasmuch as other companies were buying and making it public. And he seems to be right. Companies that do not have bitcoin today and see that other companies are buying, in addition to the price increase will begin to think if it will not be better to buy today because tomorrow it will be more expensive.
