So what exactly is Digibyte...just discovered this. Will it Co exist with BTC in the future but have a lower value..similar to silver and gold...I really like the name..god damn it's good. I really see potential. Can a digibyte be divisible? If so what is it called? A digibit?....also when will this coin become visible on the coinmarket cap website?
Welcome to the community! This is something we have thought about before but never really discussed with the community. We like the idea of the next unit being labeled a "digibit." Does anyone have any other suggesitons? DigiByte has been visibile for most of its lifetime on coinmarketcap, even in the top 20 for awhile. The problem is coinmarketcap is a very poor indicator of a coins true widespread adoption. Most of the top 100 coins listed oncoinmarketcap are cryptocurrencies where the developer holds most of the coins. A much more accurate index of the digital currency market is coin gecko. Not sure if anyone is aware but Digihash.co doesn't seem to be paying out even though it is finding blocks.
I noticed this too.. I checked back and was receiving payouts up until around noon and then nothing since.. still showing hash rates and blocks found, anyone have any ideas on this? Thank you We will restart the pool to push all pending blocks out. We have noticed NOMP occasionally does this and needs to be reset. Thanks for posting to let us know! |

While you're in there, will you fix this too?  The Block Explorer page title still says Bitcoin instead of Digibyte when doing any type of search (address, block, transaction)    Thanks for pointing this out as well! |

Why does the block explorer say the reward is 2410, but is paying out 2434 ?
Please check into this. Is the block reward reduction not working, or are the wrong values being reported to the block explorer, or... ? This is still happening. This has been happening for awhile now... Will someone check into this please ?  These appear to be calculated improperly on the block explorer side. We are going to get this fixed. I don't think I have ever seen comprehensive instructions on how to solomine a coin. I've found bits and pieces on several sites, but none that I could follow from start to finish and get the complete sequence. Over the past few days, I decided to try it out just to see if I could get it working, and I did! If anyone else is curious about how to do it, here are the steps I followed: (Assuming your wallet is running on a Windows computer.) 1. Shut down your wallet. 2. In the C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\DigiByte folder, add a file called DigiByte.conf that contains this: rpcallowip=*

3. Right-click the shortcut icon of your wallet a. choose Properties b. click the Shortcut tab c. in the Target, add -server to the end. (Example: "C:\Program Files\DigiByte\digibyte-qt.exe" -server) 4. Launch your wallet. It may reindex your blockchain, this can take awhile. Wait until this is done. 5. Go into the console of your wallet and type this and hit Enter: setgenerate true -1 6. Your computer is now CPU mining. It's going to use about 100% of the CPU on your computer, so it's best to run the wallet on a computer that is different from your mining rig. 7. Make note of the IP address of the computer your wallet is running on. From the Command Prompt: ipconfig

Depending on your mining program, you aren't going to see any activity until you find a block. But it is working. I have my wallet running on my Windows box, and my miner running on a Linux box. I pointed my linux miner to this and it worked. There may be some other set of instructions out there that are better than this, but part of the fun for me was trying to figure out how to do it on my own from the bits and pieces I found on the internet. Other Algos... In the digibyte.conf file, you should be able to change the algo= line to one of the other algorithms and mine, but I haven't tested that (yet). This is great! Been here since the beginning and not sold any. This is going through a cycle just like other long term growth opportunities. Look at some of the old BTC threads when other members were calling people who paid $0.20 for BTC fools and then it blew up. It's normal human psychology. One thing I believe is extremely important is capitalizing on a specific point of time to obtain the biggest benefit. Last thing we want to do is have a superior product, service, etc and no one knows about it. There are enough burger joints that have better quality than McDonalds, but where are they? Never heard of them. Does McDonalds have the best burger or healthiest? No, but they have location, location, location. Marketing, real estate, convenience and ease. I still remember the time when I translated the DigiByte OP into Turkish and won 250k DGB, at that time was worth ~0.7 BTC and I did not sell it, placed it into my ewallet and forgot about it. Today, you may think I regret why did not sell and bought back, but I don't regret because belief is something keeps us all alive, either you believe in money, fame or religion, no-religion. But I guess we are very close to the crucial point for DGB. I am hoping we will see news on the USD exchange and a few other things, then we can move onto ADS. Yes, we have to have amazing advertisement channels for DGB. Don't forget "there were 20 other search engines launched before Google", but in the end Google was the one! To me, the only missing part is the ADS and PR. I do not know who Tiffany, Andrew and Tanner are, but at the moment they have chosen to be quite quiet. The crazy thing is the insiders own like 90% of Ripple and yet the price has continued to move up. Think about this for a second. Ripple creates more shares out of thin air and assigns them to their "banking partners" for virtually nothing. Now the outside public believes real life credibility and use is occurring and they start investing. The "banking partners" are now looking at a goldmine in their hands. Ingenious if you ask me. Bad for the folks investing. Ultimately, I think DGB needs to use some of the marketing techniques and relationship to its advantage. I would not touch Ripple with a ten foot pole. No control and the insiders can dump anytime they choose and the rest are left holding the bag. Why take a chance? YC I don't like what I'm seeing out there. This means debunking the scams, and that means possibly ruffling some feathers, but we have a duty to our fellow humans, don't we? Do we care that unsuspecting victims are being taken. Do we care that our product provides the real thing and is being overlooked? Maybe, maybe not, but one thing's for sure, those behind the business - if only for the business' sake, if only to do the marketing expected of someone who wants to establish their business, if only to become profitable - need to promote the benefits of their product as soon, and as early on, as possible, else they end up failing and saying to themselves "if only we had tried harder to create demand and set ourselves apart when we still had the chance". DigiByte needs to get aggressive, and fast! For me its marketcap... Why would I buy a coin at 740million cap when there is coins worth 100k that are just as close We completely agree 100% we must educated the consumer. We need to be the ones to bfring trust and stability to the market place! |
