It's the most used button on my kb. I don't want my drunken forays to be etched forever in stone on the interweaves, thank you.

Hey now! Welcome to the 2K club OOM.

Thanks, appreciating it  Grin

DISCLAIMER: Off topic content

After i received the coma corrector, last night, i mounted the 750mm Newton Telescope that came "free" with my new mount (used, very good condition), to test/compare-shoot M42 (Orion Nebula) again. The seeing was about equal as two nights before, when i used the semi-broken 430mm Refractor.
I threw a third of the image frames away, then stacked the better ones. Typical Newton Telescope "4-star" artefacs, many seem to tolerate them and even think they beautify the starlights (compared to dot-shapes from the lens based telescopes). There are artefacts from one blade that holds the central mirror in place, in the right top of the images, i have to research this further, may be user error or mechanical/technical (both fixable) error(s).
One major user error was to expose each of the images for too long, so the lights in the center of the nebula are blown out heavily. I need to remember to choose exposure time based on object magnitude/brightness.

Nevertheless, i'm satisfied with the results:

EDIT: Added disclaimer on top. That's it. That's the edit.

I tell people time and time again, I like alts for 1 reason. they get me more bitcoin.

Good for you, if this works for you.

My experience is very different. Every single person I know who got involved in altcoins ended up with less Bitcoin than they could have had if the had bought Bitcoin (and only Bitcoin) straight away.

My advice is to steer well clear of altcoins, buy Bitcoin and HoDL.

I can only second this.
About 10% of my BTC were lost in the alts-game, back when we were sub 20k.
If someone needs the thrill, ok, but i don't need it.

Would this get banned from our pumpkin carving contest?

Possibly, if it's a male pumpkin  Grin

So, staying totally off topic now, i spent some hours testing my equipment and the DIY repaired telescope, cuz i finally had clear, moonless sky last night.
Focusing is a nightmare (very coarse) but on the other hand, slightly blurry results do have their own beauty to them. There's also some focus shifting, making images a little sharper at the top corners, while blurring out the lower regions little more. The focusing tube is definitely off-axis. Some more $ to be spent on this asap.
Here's a stack of 30 minutes of the great Orion Nebula (Messier 45 42 afair).

Enjoy  Grin

EDIT: This will be one of next winter's highlights, when the scope will be repaired, the sky will be dark and the air will be freezing cold.

Just wait a few months
pray for OOM's fingers
that they won't freeze off

Just remembered that i didn't buy Bitcoin in a while.
Real life is constantly sucking money from my bank account, more than some months ago.
The damn car i still like too much, the damn kids i love too much (going to school got expensive), the hobbies i love too much (like the telescope that tipped over), the higher bills for electricity, water and other general things i need too much...

I also recognized that i avoided concentrating on the possibility to buy some sats since national taxation on Crypto (what did i just write?) changed. The latter in a way, that selling corn bought after 2020 will be taxed as capital gains.

I definitely need to set some goals and rules regarding future Bitcoin buys, i better start this soon, because it feels to me that Q3/Q4 of 2022 is accumulation time.
This can't continue this way. Maybe DCA, but i don't know how much, facing less income to spare, but even a small amount per month is better than what i currently do.
Christmas is ahead, too, not known as the cheapest time of the year  Undecided

Well hi there gents. Hope you're all well? It's been a while. My global wanderings have ceased for now, allowing some good ol' fashioned WO time. Glad to see everyone in good spirits over the last few pages that I've skimmed over. Not quite as many helicopters as I would have liked but hey-ho. Pretty sure they're on their way.

Things are starting to look upwards, eh? Surely the bottom's in.....

Hiya  Grin
Helicopter returned to the base, getting refueled  Cool

I lost my ego long ago my bro :p

You think so. But you didn't. I've been there as well.  Wink

First episode of Peripherie looked damn good.

Peripheral?
just making sure

"Peripherie" is the german title, which means "periphery". I like what i've seen so far.
"Bullet Train" was also a 1st class tip, one of the best MA/funny movies i've seen in a while.
Reminded me that i'm still waiting for the sequel of "Rock'n Rolla" (Guy Richie).

Today i became a master of nature of time and the human condition. I have leveled up significantly , like i recieved GM RINGS 😁

Dude, i'm telling you, i have been there already. Quit this esoteric shit, start learning how to tame and control your Ego  Roll Eyes
EDIT: When you think you are you, it's only a part of you that thinks it's you. This part you accept but don't react to, and it will start idling. This state is the real you.
Start meditating your breath. It helps a bit.

Natural gas prices in EU will go even lower before inflation tsunami sweeps everything in its path. EU countries consume less natural gas because EU industrial production consumes less natural gas. EU industrial production consumes less natural gas because EU industrial production is no more. Welcome to the Stone Age, imbeciles!

At $5.79 I do not know what to do when I shop tommorrow.

Chickens? Jam them in with your mining equipment.

I purchased a lot of drumsticks vs eggs today.

Haha, a nice deal. What brand and size is your favourite (drumstick), by the way?
I'm playing 7A hickory (Vic), sometimes 5A for slower, powerdrumming stuff.
You don't get so many different brands around here in nearby stores ("nearby" means an hour driving).
The Vic's were about standard since i started playing a tad over 25 years ago, but i've seen Tama and LP sometimes as well.
Most exotic pair was made from anodized aluminium with plastic tips, some signature model, afair also by Vic Firth.
Played 'em until the shitty endcaps popped out  Cheesy

On Topic: Bitcoin went boring, so it has to do some unexpected things very soon. Whatever the direction will be, i'm prepared.
Bring the pain, King Daddy #nohomo (didn't read that in a while)

Edit:  Whoaza.... !!!!  Yours truly (ie this here cat, aka me) did not need to wait too long.. Here it is. IC 1848 (The Soul Nebula).
70 minutes of lights, shot on a night with increasingly foggy sky.

After three days of debugging my controller, finally some (yet mediocre) results. Enjoy  Grin

EDIT: Yeah, the thing is also the focuser of the telescope is periodically stuck, because the finetuning adjustment bearing went bad, so i could not achieve on-the-spot focus. The first ten to twenty minutes were relatively sharp, thanks to the clear sky at the beginning of the night. The scope still needs professional repair, but i got another one with the mount, which seems sturdy enough to deliver minute long exposures without producing star trails, i just need to get a lens that makes the image "flat" to be captured on a camera's image sensor, without producing "star eggs" away from the center.
And not to forget, there are still my trusty old camera lenses to be used.

EDIT2: GN  Grin
