Is Transition Bot down ?
Yes, immediately after the distribution, he always sleeps a few days. Please try it in a few days..

How do I link my btc in my electrum wallet to byteballs? I have already installed the wallet. how do I do it?

Best thing to do is follow the directions on byteball.org
A new site (unofficial) provides more details on how to link --  http://bitviser.info/

There is also a number of videos on youtube on how to link your BTC.  Yes, even specifically for electrum wallets. Smiley
665  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: May 14, 2017, 06:41:43 AM

Wait... so you can confirm that you managed to import a Mycelium HD wallet into Electrum by clicking the Options button, ticking the "BIP39 Seed" option and then using the Mycelium seed words in Electrum?  Huh
Yup. I guess "BIP39" is the magic work  Wink

Nobody tested it with multiple mycelium accounts, but this quote suggests it won't work with a second mycelium account.

Electrum only supports the first/default wallet/account of the in BIP32 described HD wallets.
See here: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki

I have tested with a multiple mycelium account wallet.
It will work for other accounts; however, you have to restore them individually.  Meaning, follow the process outlined prior for each account within the wallet seed.  You get a popup asking which account you want to restore.

My seed has 6 accounts.  0-5   I restored the first 4 as tests to know that it works.

Ok, now that is an explanation I can understand #loveit!

Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me like that makes complete sense now. Even though I have one wallet and am mining to one address it is still making micro transaction (pennies into my wallet) so instead of just creating one lump some it has to pull all those transactions together to send out the amount I want to send. But once I send that one big amount it is now treated like a lump some rather than a bunch of smaller sums. Smiley

Awesome.

Correct.  When you send it all to a new address, then you're basically converting your 10000 pennies into a $100 bill.
667  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: May 14, 2017, 01:56:28 AM

He did answer your question.  Read the last paragraph again.

-- Send with a very low fee, and then you can join the people complaining about it taking a long time. --

So, send all your dust to a new address with a low fee.  Takes a lot longer (and hopefully confirms), but then you'll have all your dust as a single new input on a diff address.

I don't get the dust part I guess, what is considered dust? I mean I got over .28 in the wallet so send all.28 to a new wallet. But I would still get a huge fee. I mean I tried sending 80 dollars worth and that was 17 bucks to send.

Or are you saying just send a dollar's worth to myself or something? Sorry just trying to understand.

Dust....

Let's pretend this is dollar.

I have two wallets.  Both have $100.    They are not the same.
1st wallet has a single $100 bill
2nd wallet has 10000 pennies.

If I go to the store, which is easier to spend?

Dust wallets = 10,000 pennies.  Sure, the total you have is .28 BTC, but is it made up of 2800 transactions or a single transaction of .28?

If you send .28 from a wallet with a single input of .28 BTC, then the fee is low.  About .00006 BTC.
Now, if you have a shit ton of transactions which add up to .28 BTC then it takes a lot of space ans costs more to account for all the inputs.

If you're not in a hurry, then use a relatively low fee (which you select), and simply wait the possible days it would take to confirm.
Normally, I would say to wait for the weekend; however, the backlog is pretty damn big.  So, the standard weekend waiting isn't a thing right now.

My suggestion is to send all .28 to yourself (a different address you own) so that you can quickly move your transactions when you want without higher fees.

If you had to pay $17 to send $80, then I think your calculations are wrong or you simply have a wallet with a ton of microtransactions - like very small mining or faucet.  Yes, if mining, then definately set a higher payout amount so you're not stuck with dust.

668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 13, 2017, 04:35:54 PM
There will be only one transaction from the exchange that outputs to all the addresses the different users withdrew to.

The bot refuses to link any address whose micropayment is included in a transaction that has more than two outputs.

I agree with the first sentence.

I have read the OP many times.
I can't see where it says the micropayment must be a 1or2 output transaction.

Not saying you're wrong, but I can't find where you see that as a rule.

Indeed, it's not mentioned in the OP, however it has been discussed in the very early days before the first round, it would be quite time-consuming for me to find the posts about it.

The only way to be objectively sure is to try it Smiley.

..if I may add (I remember the subject)

Sent my transaction from my bitgo wallet and received this message from Transaction bot

I received 0.0015 BTC from 3QcomrVZo8T7XARRVYziJg3B8BqkzcZs2D but this transaction looks like it was sent from an exchange, which is not allowed. Please send BTC only from a wallet that you own private keys for. If you think it was a mistake, please contact tonych@byteball.org

why do they think its an exchange?

I already replied you by email:

See here https://blockchain.info/address/3QcomrVZo8T7XARRVYziJg3B8BqkzcZs2D, there are too many outputs that’s why we detect it as an exchange (transactions sent from regular wallet usually have 2 outputs).  Please use a wallet where you control the private keys.

To add to this, Exchanges process withdrawals in bulk to reduce amount of Transaction Fees Wink

Didn't think there would be so many comments before I could reply....

First, I understand that exchanges do multiple sends to reduce fees.

My comment was NOT specific to Only exchanges.  There is also gambling sites.

I have one wallet registered that Specifically came from a gambling site (not the sites address).  It is a 2 output (1 to me, and 1 to the sites cold wallet).  I can find several that are 3 output.  I am not going to give information on the specific transactions for obvious reasons.  So, I guess this idea of registering addresses that don't belong to you can be dropped by me by not providing proof.  Smiley

However,

The quoted transaction was a 5 output transaction. So, let's just be clear what tonych said....
It was blocked for being too many outputs AND that typical transactions are 2 outputs.
He didn't say byteball requires it to be 2.
- This can be easily cleared up.

669  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: May 13, 2017, 02:26:38 PM
Moral of the story: DON'T collect dust.

If you do, you're going to get slammed on transaction fees... or you're going to have to find a wallet that allows you to set a manual fee (Note: Electrum will import Mycelium seed if you select BIP39 from options during seed restore), and send with a stupid low fee and your transaction will get stuck for days waiting for confirmation. You can then join the legions of people posting "ZOMG Transaction not confirmed for DAYZ!!!!!1!1!" threads...  Roll Eyes

Thank you so Much for the explanation. This is exactly what I was looking for. You are correct I do receive payout's from mining on a daily basis. I should just increase my max payout from the pool to limit that from happening. In the meantime is there a way to clean it up without having the huge transaction fees?

I read few posts back that at next round we will receive double for holding bytes and blackbytes and bitcoin will give us normal ratio. It is good initiative to encourage people to keep holding their stakes. I was planning to hold anyway till the distribution ends. I also received tonight blackbytes as well.

NO.

Double the bonus.  Not double the balance.

Bonus was 10% of your balance.
Double the bonus is 20% of your balance.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 12, 2017, 06:15:44 PM
You forget a crucial detail: the exchange doesn't send the change back to the original address, it sends it to another address. When you withdraw for the second time, it comes from a different address.

Not true.
First, several exchanges reuse addresses with large amounts of coins.  Same for gambling sites using multisig accounts.  I can prove this with 100% certainty.

No one moves ALL the coins in an address as change to another.  If they did, there would be no reason to even change addresses.

An address having 100 coins normally isn't a single input.  So, if they send you 25 coins, then only the inputs needed to pay you are used and the change of those selected inputs go to a new address.  So, this leaves the majority of coins in the original address.

I see that there is another airdrop for Byteball on 9th of next month, got this information from https://www.icocountdown.com/

May I know how many bytes and black bytes will be distributed during this period?

it depends on two factors: 1) amount of btc linked to BB addresses by the time of snapshot 2) the sum of bytes all BB addresses keep by the time of snapshot. Both are changeable cause for example one can buy Gbytes at markets and bring them to his/her wallet

rules for 6th round can be found at http://whatis.wikidot.com/get-gbyte

Just a small correction Smiley 1) is changeable but 2) is not, if people don't buy, then the exchange's wallet will get bytes from the distribution, so the amount of bytes that is going to be distributed depending on bytes in circulation is already known and will always be.

May be wrong, but exchange addresses may be blacklisted from distributions

It's simple.
OP says that if the same address is linked to two different byteball accounts, then the BTC addy is blocked from both.  To fix this (cause you might have made a mistake or tried to claim an exchange address), you must register another BTC address and move the coins there.  (If it's an exchange address, then you can't possibly move all the coins to the newly registered address, unless you actually own them all and made a withdraw from the exchange).   That covers byteball from being hit for double airdrop and rightfully blocks the BTC addy to prevent a large number of people trying to claim exchange/gambling BTC addresses.

That said....
Yes, you can register an exchange address by the following method.
First, you know it's an address from an exchange (or even a gambling site), because you have coins on it.  You make a withdraw to yourself, so you see where it came from so you know how much is in it.    Now, setup a byteball wallet.  transition bot, you give it the address, and it says to send a small payment to an address.  On the exchange, you withdraw the specific amount to the byteball transition bot.  If the exchange uses that wallet to pay you (the bot), then the bot believes you own that address.   So, if no one else does this, then you just scored free bytes/blackbytes during that snapshot.

Moral of the story: DON'T collect dust.

Or collect dust into an old-fashioned single-address wallet or perhaps into a paper wallet. Would that work better? If so, then the moral could be amended to, "Don't collect dust into a HD wallet."

No.

50 inputs is still 50 inputs.  It doesn't matter if it's a single bitcoin address or 50 different addresses.

Example.... a 50cent coin (1 input) takes a lot less space, easier to count, move and spend than 50 pennies (50 inputs).
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 12, 2017, 07:07:32 AM

Thanks for answering: with the bolded part you mean you manually copy/pasted the c/users/userrname/byteball folders in a safe place before running installer.
If it's the case: does this "manual backup" + seed backup allow to recover GB and GBB stored in wallet?

yes.

I have a few wallets in the directory.   named byteball0, byteball1, etc etc.
When I want to see a specific wallet, I rename it to simply byteball
then I open the app and all good.  When done, I rename it back.

As for copy, you can simply right click the folder, select copy, then right click and say paste.
windows makes a new folder but adds - Copy   to the name.  Or, you can copy it to another folder or drive directly.   Everything needed is in the folder.

This manual backup is all you need (that I know of - not a seed).

I am unable to make a full backup of my recently installed wallet so am worried to do something wrong during upgrade process: may someone please explain with some details how to upgrade from 1.8.2 to 1.8.3?

Do I just have to run installer over the previous version or what?

How may I stay in a safe position without beig able to make a full backup before upgrading?

Close down byteball, run the installer.

I just confirmed on 2x windows machines.  No problem.

(Admittedly, I made a backup of the full directory prior to doing the upgrade - ya know, just in case).

Now running version 1.8.3.
- Also confirmed that switching byteball wallets (directories) is no problem either (both between full and lite wallets as well).

Any news about blackbytes distribution? ... No blackbytes yet...   Huh

How many times are you going to complain that you haven't received your free blackbytes yet?
Why ask the question if you haven't bothered reading the posts yet?

Plenty of news and responses.
Most, if not all, have received them already.

679  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: May 12, 2017, 05:48:59 AM

I saw the list, and donated 50 btс. But I can not even collect 10 here. I hope there are real philanthropists. Thank you in advance ..

If you're going to claim to have donated 50 BTC, you should be on the list and/or able to prove it.

Do you honestly want people to believe you donated 50 BTC, but you're asking for free coins?  Ha.  Funny first posts by you.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 12, 2017, 05:29:38 AM
Thanks, got the bytes! waiting for GBBs.

I'm happy that the overall distribution will be accelerated by the doubling at the next round! With that the coin's value shoud settle faster.

Uhhh, NO.

They are not doubling the distribution.
Byteball is doubling the BONUS at the next distribution.
- Instead of a bonus of 10% of your byteball balance, you get a 20% bonus.

So, if you have a balance of 1 byteball now, you will get a multiplier of 1.2 on the next full moon (distribution) = You will have 1.2 byteballs.

Let's say for this distribution (May 10th) you had 16BTC linked.
You received (16*.0625 =) 1 byteball.
So, if your balances don't change for the next distribution (June 9th), you will get.....
(16*.0625 =) 1 byteball + 20% increase of your prior balance (1 byteball from May 10th = .2 byteball)
- Your new balance will be a total of   2.2 byteball

Another way to look at it:

1 byteball (May 10th)
1 byteball (June 9th) + 20% of 1 byteball from May 10th
------------------------------------------------------------------
2.2 byteball total
