661  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have you ever used copy trading apps on: August 14, 2023, 09:54:42 PM

What do you guys think about copy trading?
Let's discuss please
Copy trading is just a learning tool for newbies or those who are just making their journey in trading. I use copy-trading before but not an app, and it is because I have no trust in these apps. But yeah, I'd leave copy-trading after getting an idea of how it works and I would say that there is no potential to become successful from doing this. That is why I won't suggest to keep doing this longer if you wanted to grow your knowledge and skills, and you never be successful from relying on others' minds. If they can manage to analyze the market, we can do it as well because there are a lot of available resources that can be used, only we need to spend time.
662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as good store for value on: August 14, 2023, 09:37:56 PM
Well, OP, if you just know why many people choose to invest in Real Estate than Bitcoin, you probably have the idea. But I gonna tell you that it is because of the volatile sentiment of Bitcoin. Yeah, I would agree that people are thinking for a profit because they are investing in it and they are expecting ROI. It is somehow you know that the volatility of Bitcoin many investors suffer losses but if you are investing in Real Estate, they are sure about their profit earned, not losses. Bitcoin is a good investment ONLY if you can hold it and never think it was a safe haven because of its volatility.
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binance indirectly manipulative by promoting Tokens? on: August 11, 2023, 01:16:30 PM
Maybe because they are benefiting from this, as long as there's no legal liability, they will continue to bolster their current position. They invested a lot of money in their exchange and even purchased CoinMarketCap, giving them a bigger influence on the overall market. So as investors, we have to be cautious and do our own research (DYOR), as that's necessary when investing in a high-risk market.

There are even rumors that Binance has been manipulating their trading volume, but up until now, they still haven't faced a legal battle related to it.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 11, 2023, 12:54:09 PM
He can get another chance. He shouldn't have gone to Taiwan imo.
You can't blame him; he saw an opportunity overseas, so he grabbed that opportunity. However, with the recent news that his salary will be cut a bit, I guess he might be interested in playing with the NBA again. Let's hope that there's a team that would pick him up.

He is already 37 years old, not young anymore, but he can still play. With his experience and confidence, I'm sure he will be a big help. All we can do now is wait for the developments. Let's follow Howard's journey; who knows, he might end up with the Lakers again.
665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gas station payment with bitcoin. on: August 11, 2023, 03:56:59 AM
What you have done is good. You can be saving and storing bitcoin from there too. But the only thing for now is that you might not have enough customers who are into bitcoin in the moment but at time goes on, they will increase. And how is your experience on the transaction duration? I mean does it take time? And which of the wallet are you using bro received the payment?
As expected, because till now, Bitcoin serves as another payment option. Although we can post "Bitcoin is Accepted here", but if the people around you are no-how about Bitcoin, I don't think it will work. However, it was a good way of starting crypto exposure because that will also gain interest, and asking what is Bitcoin as for sure it creates curiosity which could lead to searching. Who could benefit from it? Of course, everyone, and the more we spread Bitcoin, the more it will encourage businesses to accept it.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A advise to my friend about his decision on: August 10, 2023, 09:47:34 PM
What a lucky friend you have right there and a good father as well based on your story. He just needs to appreciate what his father left him since that was not a bad thing to have because all he needs to do is to search for his father's will and it could be leading him to some appreciation of bitcoins as well because he will gonna research it well and learn more about it in the process he will gonna become one of the fans of bitcoins because of his father.
Anyone that does not understand what Bitcoin is all about can quickly search the internet and check the Bitcoin whitepaper for a little understanding of the concept. This is my first time seeing that Bitcoin is being willed to next of kin of family member based on how quickly things can be compromised. Once someone have access to the Bitcoin secret phrase, the coin can be moved out any time without even the owner knowing about it.
I hope he is going to make good use of the fund since it is in Bitcoin and I hope he is going to learn about Bitcoin and hoe to trade it to earn more Bitcoin if he really are about that.
That is what I think as well. Because it never makes sense to have this Bitcoin if you never know how to use or spend it wisely. But if I was the person who inherit that amount, I definitely converted some to fiat money and start and business or buy some stocks. It is good to secure the funds into other investments rather than keeping it like that especially if you don't have enough knowledge about crypto.
I believe he would understand it but much better if someone from his friend who can be trusted guides him on what to do next.
667  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for August on: August 10, 2023, 01:56:20 PM
The current price of bitcoin is always interesting for us to observe, especially after the biggest increase that has occurred in January which reaches more than 40% and in my opinion the potential to skyrocket is very much awaited, the fact of August until now cannot pass $ 30k so that it makes us have to be patient and don't panic.
The price of Bitcoin had started to pump just yesterday and the chart is still in greed color which would tell us that it was picking up high. But yes, it wasn't enough to reach $30k and we don't know what holds them. However, I was not disappointed yet instead, I was positive that this month of August we are able to break the $30k. Well, for now, I was not thinking about skyrocket price, this year 2023 isn't the year of Bitcoin as it was still in favor to meme coins but despite with the current situation, faith is still there.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Robert Helenius (replacement) on: August 10, 2023, 01:02:12 PM
Obviously he is not a good replacement, but they will have to find a boxer that needs to cover and it just so happen that Helenius is there but then, not sure if he is battle ready or not.

Helenius is not a good replacement and he is not ready at all imho. Several days ago he had a fight against Mika Mielonen (a professional boxer with 6-1 record, but against poor boxers) and won, but Mika managed to get Helenius few times. If Helenius cant dodge, block punches from such average fighter and it took him 3 rounds to KO Mika, then Joshua gonna finish Helenius in first round, or in second, if sponsors would ask him for at least one advertisement to be aired during rounds Cheesy

That could indeed be a possibility, as AJ is seeking an impressive victory to reinvigorate his reputation. Many of the replacements are not top-tier boxers, often being seen as secondary options. While there are instances of surprise wins by replacements, such as Ugas against Pacman, it's important to understand that this isn't a championship fight. Consequently, I'm skeptical that Helenius could cause an upset in this scenario.

On a different note, we might witness AJ adopting a less aggressive approach, as excessive aggression could lead to carelessness and potential upsets. Instead, he might opt for a consistent strategy, which could possibly result in a late-round knockout.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 10, 2023, 12:01:04 PM
>>> offering an opportunity to face the beast in case the fight with Tapales doesn't materialize.

There's a possibility of it happening, but could Inoue decide to bypass a higher-ranked challenger than Casimero?

Among the four organizations in the Super Bantamweight/Jr. Featherweight division, I don't see Casimero's name listed as the top contender following the champion. This indicates that our expectations might not come to fruition, as Inoue is likely to focus on facing only the mandatory challenger, which Casimero currently isn't.
670  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make a life by Day Trading on: August 09, 2023, 09:53:22 PM
Well, I believe that getting success in trading comes from a good plan and strategy. Yes, you have shown it right and it is good. Well, when it comes to budget plans or capital, it does not necessarily have to start with big amounts. Maybe you are pointing out that $200 is the minimum, well, I can say that it has a huge impact when it was compared to when we use a small amount. However, I don't encourage this for newbies as they are still learning but if you are already on what we say that have long experience, that seems reasonable and advisable.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 09, 2023, 12:42:25 PM
Well they still have a strong team, don't underestimate them. This team is much stronger than the 2019 one.
The difference is, with Canada they will have a team with almost the same talent.

The advantage of the European teams is always they are more familiar with the rules, because FIBA and NBA have quite some differences. Sometimes it's a little tough for NBA players to adapt to those.
Still talent wise the cup can only go to USA or Canada, there is no question. They must have a really bad day, or the other team a very good day, to get beaten.

Obviously United States will be the overwhelming favorites, but I am not going to discount the European teams. It was France who kicked them out of the tournament last time. And they lost to Serbia as well.  This time, apart from USA and Canada, we have Australia and Slovenia as the next strongest teams as per odds from different sportsbooks. France, Spain and Greece are also in contention. But the gap between USA and other teams is too huge. USA is at -170, while the second ranked Australia is being given odds of +850.

I don't see those odds reflect the real chances. Canada is way too high in my opinion. Tonight they will play my German team in both teams second test so far. This will paint a slightly better picture of what both teams are capable of.
That could mean Canada is undervalued because of high odds. It's good if those odds would reflect the same on sportsbooks so we can take advantage of it based on our belief. In my opinion, the USA is very popular, so most of the time they are overvalued by the bookmakers. It's really up to us to evaluate and bet on a team that we believe has good value and has a good chance of winning.

The USA is composed of young NBA stars, while other national teams have been playing with great chemistry already with veteran players on a team.

Since the odds are so good (I didn't expect that) I will make a small wager on Canada, I honestly think this has a lot of value!
Slovenia didn't look so good in their 3rd test as well. After losing vs Greece twice (without Giannis) they barely beat Montenegro at home last night, and only because Luka had a monster game. I know they have Luka but based on what I have seen so far this 1 man team can't go far in the tournament.

Why would you base it on the odds? If you believe Canada will win, then taking +1400 is a no-brainer.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 09, 2023, 12:11:15 PM
...//::-
I think that this is how boxing has been in recent years, but a boxer should never have that thought "sometimes I win, sometimes I lose", it is the marketing of today in terms of boxing quality.  As for the rivalry between boxers for rematches, it's a classic in the sport of punches, it's not pride, it's money, it's just the idea they sell.

Boxers will always find ways to win and doesn't want to lose. Obviously, there is rivalry building if they will have a rematch because the other party wanted to avenge the lost he got.

But I do agree that everything is all for the money here, yeah you can call that they have pride, but if there are huge money in the line then definitely that will be the motivation for them to fight the second time. Like what Spence wanted against Crawford, take a revenge, but this time he wanted it at 154 lbs.

It's pride and money, but money has a bigger weight than pride. Maybe most of the boxers nowadays want money over pride, but I know some boxers who stick with their pride even if there's a huge amount of money to be made. I will give an example: Mayweather retired undefeated. If he still wanted more money, he could have continued to fight until he lost his popularity. Another boxer is Juan Manuel Marquez. After he defeated Pacquiao, he didn't have another fight anymore, despite being offered a lot of money.

Juan Manuel Marquez’s $150m Manny Pacquiao offer riddle solved

This did not happen.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Meme Tokens Forge a New Era of Crypto Champions? on: August 08, 2023, 09:57:32 PM
I've been a fan of memes, but I never imagined a world where meme tokens team up like superheroes until I came across 'MemeVengers' on my TL. It's a concept where famous meme tokens like DOGE, SHIBA, and other memes come together under one banner with the goal of giving each token unique traits and powers, making them heroes in the crypto world.

If you're a meme lover like myself, what do you think about this concept where memes collide in the most epic way?
I couldn't say I was a meme lover but honestly, I did some participation during its hyped. Seeing their strategy of continue promoting meme coins, the more it helps people to see it was a potential project but something we have to know is that many people don't see meme coins play an important role in the market. Many still reject it and considered it shitcoins. Those people who come during the hyped (just like me) can't expect them to stay holding their meme coins but they will just leave once sold.
674  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is copy trading a legit way of income for beginners or just a marketing tactic? on: August 08, 2023, 09:42:54 PM
Yes, I did copy trading before and it works at the start but getting surprised that after a few days of doing this, everything went wrong. What I mean is that they will ask you for more money if you wanted to increase your learning.

I know it would be helpful for newbies to at least have an idea but thinking in a situation where you have to spend a huge amount just to acquire additional trading knowledge, I don't think it was a good idea since there are a lot of resources available online that we can use to learn freely.

Great news kabayan!

Clarkson arrives in Manila for Gilas stint

Quote
MANILA, Philippines – NBA star Jordan Clarkson arrived in the Philippines Tuesday to join Gilas Pilipinas in their upcoming campaign in the FIBA World Cup.

News5’s Martie Bautista managed to sneak in a question to the Utah Jazz guard as he was making his way out of the Ninoy Aquino international Airport.

JC is now in the Philippines so it's sure that he will be able to play with the Gilas locals. Hopefully no injuries will happen during practice as he is the best chance for the team to be competitive and hopefully we are going to get an upset win.

For the schedule, you can see it https://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2023/competition-schedule.pdf
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 08, 2023, 11:57:21 AM

His trash talk would not work because this is an international competition, and teams are highly competitive. Players like Luka and the current number 1 pick, Victor Wembanyama, even said that the NBA is less physical compared to their leagues before. So, Brooks should not focus on his trash talk; instead, he should play hard and physical to live up to the expectations of the fans.

The current lineup of Canada has some players who are superstars in the NBA. However, I'm looking at the team chemistry more than the individual players on the team. With that said, I stick with the more consistent teams, particularly Spain (despite less Gasol).

Well, that is his specialty in trash talking so I will not be surprised if he can accumulate a disaster in the FIBA but if he can surely use his physicality in most match up's then maybe he would rather have the humility in taking into consideration his action before doing it, I have seen his interviews as a Houston Rocket player just now, he looks nicer? Humble? maybe this is a good start the Houston Rockets have given him a new opportunity to strive so he needs to use this not in bad-mouthing others but to show his old teams that he can do better this time, I am surely for the change and everybody can surely change and I think Brooks really need to reflect what he has done wrong when he was on the Memphis Grizzlies and apply a positive one when playing with the Houston Rockets this time,

He is lucky that there's still a team that was able to sign him with a good contract. He should not waste that opportunity, as it's important for him to maintain good statistics so that what the Rockets are giving to him would be worth it. Honestly, I'm surprised that he still got a good contract after his time with Memphis. I mean, he used to be a trash talker and a great contributor as well, but it turns out he was only a trash talker and forgot to help his team with his usual contribution.

Anyway, what's done is done. It's a new journey for him, so I wish him success.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be watchful it's not yet time on: August 07, 2023, 09:55:12 PM
Market is not in a bull run at all and although we see some recovery above 30.000 dollars it didn't held, meaning we are in a recovery phase,it is a great phase to invest but not in new shitcoins, only in trusted projects that are in the top 20-50 in the coinmarketcap listings,it is not mandatory that anyone should invest a lot of money in order to make profit, one can start with as little as he has and keep growing his stash according to his possibilities, crypto is for everyone so everyone should be included and not only the whales.Personally I have only a couple of coins that hold but I trust in them,Bitcoin,Litecoin,Zilliqa,Ethereum Classic and Raptoreum which I hold a huge number of them despite them being down dramatically in value,I trust in these projects so I hold them, anyone can find a good project with good reviews and use it to start investing.

Why add unnecessary risk to your investment? Just buy bitcoin and hold it, it will give as much profit as the altcoins in the top 100. Only bitcoin has a better chance of this profit than these altcoins. To confirm my words you can compare how much profit over the last 3 years altcoins have given and how much bitcoin has given. The difference will be minimal and sometimes even in favor of bitcoin. I don't see the point of changing bitcoin for altcoins in such a situation.
It can't deny that Bitcoin is a profitable investment when it talks about long-term investment but somehow, people are impatient and so they will choose altcoins because of thinking they could earn a profit right away like how these hyped projects do - meme coins are an example. Putting that situation, I could understand that people are not focused on the long-term but what they wanted is to earn every day. Well, might some people have made this and so they use to keep it that way?
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin really not for everyone? on: August 07, 2023, 09:34:42 PM
I would say Bitcoin welcomes everyone who wants to invest and make use of this as a currency but it doesn't mean that we are forced to do it. That is why there is what we called "not for everyone" because many people are still not convinced about the potential benefit of Bitcoin, they're still doubtful and think that this is a big scam thing. We have the freedom to invest or adapt Bitcoin and it must be for our own good well. In fact, some have tried but they have also quit because of some market misunderstanding and losses.
679  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: August 07, 2023, 01:36:44 PM
It's not safe, as you might be surprised that your account was already closed. Maybe Coins.ph's popularity has gone down as they are making things complicated, as mandated by the regulators. The good thing is, we have Binance P2P where we can easily transact our crypto and receive the funds through GCASH (the most popular).

I have a Coins.ph account, but I'm not using it anymore as sometimes we cannot explain the funds we are getting in crypto, especially if it's connected to gambling sites. Their team could easily trace it and it could result in your account being compromised.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: August 04, 2023, 06:18:47 AM
I want to find a good Altcoin to invest in before the bull starts, also have a non-custodial exchange. This means, that we have complete control over our funds. If there is, please help convey it, because a lots of new altcoins was born every day.

Accumulation is a good strategy as the current market is in lower side trend. Any investment today could bring good results within next year or two. There are a lot of alts with a good number of promising options. You can't go wrong with the top 20 altcoins, but it would be better to invest in coins with low cap and low price as they can easily go x10 or higher on bull. Even new coins in their early sale with a solid base, team and community could be a good investment in long run.
The price doesn't really matter as long as it was promising. Because before, I keep on hunting for cheap coins and invested a lot but unfortunately, it never works as I expected, it become shitcoins after all. That is why choosing the right coins (have a use case) is very important even if the price is a little bit high because as long as it was active that was our assurance that it will grow in the future. In fact, many of the top 20 altcoins are useless, there are some new projects that are even more profitable than with them.
